هوشع 8

۱ 1 کرنا را به دهان خود بگذار. او مثل عقاب به ضد خانه خداوند می‌آید، زیرا که از عهدمن تجاوز نمودند و به شریعت من عصیان ورزیدند.

Put the trumpet to thy mouth! Like an eagle cometh an enemy against the house of Jehovah, Because they have transgressed my covenant, And have rebelled against my law.

۲ 2 اسرائیل نزد من فریاد می‌نمایند که‌ای خدای ما تو را می‌شناسیم.

They shall say to me, My God, we know thee, we, thine Israel!

۳ 3 اسرائیل نیکویی راترک کرده است. پس دشمن او را تعاقب خواهدنمود.

Israel hath cast away what is good; The enemy shall pursue him.

۴ 4 ایشان پادشاهان نصب نمودند، اما نه ازجانب من. سروران تعیین کردند، اما ایشان رانشناختم. از نقره و طلای خویش بتها برای خودساختند تا منقطع بشوند.

They have set up kings, but not by me; They have made princes, and I knew it not. Of their silver and their gold have they made themselves idols, That they may be brought to destruction.

۵ 5 ‌ای سامره او گوساله تورا رد نموده است. خشم من بر ایشان افروخته شد. تا به کی نمی توانند طاهر بشوند؟

An abomination is thy calf, O Samaria! Mine anger is kindled against them; How long will it be ere they can attain to purity!

۶ 6 زیرا که این نیزاز اسرائیل است و صنعتگر آن را ساخته است، لهذا خدا نیست. البته گوساله سامره خرد خواهدشد.

For from Israel it came; The workman made it, and it is no God; Yea, into fragments shall the calf of Samaria be broken.

۷ 7 به درستی که باد را کاشتند، پس گردباد راخواهند دروید. آن را محصول نیست وخوشه هایش آرد نخواهد داد و اگر هم بدهد، غریبان آن را خواهند بلعید.

They have sown the wind, And they shall reap the whirlwind. They shall have no standing harvest; The ear shall yield no meal; If perchance it yield, strangers shall devour it.

۸ 8 اسرائیل بلعیده خواهد شد و الان در میان امت‌ها مثل ظرف ناپسندیده می‌باشند.

Israel is swallowed up; Soon shall they become among the nations As a vessel which no one desireth.

۹ 9 زیرا که ایشان مثل گورخرتنها و منفرد به آشور رفته‌اند و افرایم عاشقان اجیر کرده است.

For they have gone up to Assyria, Like a solitary wild-ass; Ephraim hireth lovers;

۱۰ 10 اگر‌چه ایشان در میان امت هااجرت می‌دهند، من الان ایشان را جمع خواهم کرد و به‌سبب ستم پادشاه و سروران رو به تناقض خواهند نهاد.

But though they hire among the nations, Soon will I gather the nations against them; Then shall they rest a little while from the burden of their king, and their princes!

۱۱ 11 چونکه افرایم مذبح های بسیار برای گناه ساخت پس مذبح‌ها برایش باعث گناه شد.

Ephraim hath built many altars for sin, Therefore shall he have altars for sin.

۱۲ 12 احکام بسیار شریعت خود را برای او نوشتم اما آنها را مثل چیز غریب شمردند.

Though I write for him many laws, They are accounted as a strange thing;

۱۳ 13 قربانی های سوختنی مرا ذبح کردند تا گوشت بخورند وخداوند آنها را قبول نکرد. الان عصیان ایشان را به یاد می‌آورد و عقوبت گناه را بر ایشان می‌رساند وایشان به مصر خواهند برگشت.

As to the sacrifices which they should offer me, they slay flesh and eat it; Jehovah hath no pleasure in them. Now will he remember their iniquity, And punish their sins; To Egypt shall they return.

۱۴ 14 اسرائیل خالق خود را فراموش کرده، قصرها بنا می‌کند و یهوداشهرهای حصاردار بسیار می‌سازد. اما من آتش به شهرهایش خواهم فرستاد که قصرهایش رابسوزاند.

For Israel hath forgotten his Maker, and builded palaces, And Judah hath multiplied fenced cities; But I will send a fire upon his cities, And it shall devour his palaces.
