عزرا 2

۱ 1 و اینانند اهل ولایتها که از اسیری آن اشخاصی که نبوکدنصر، پادشاه بابل، به بابل به اسیری برده بود برآمدند و هر کدام ازایشان به اورشلیم و یهودا و شهر خود برگشتند.

King Nebuchadnezzar’s [soldiers] had captured many [Israeli] people and taken them to Babylonia. [Many years later, ] some Israeli people returned to Judah. Some returned to Jerusalem, and some returned to [other places in] Judah. They went to the towns where their ancestors had lived. This is a list of the groups who returned.

۲ 2 اما آنانی که همراه زربابل آمدند، یشوع و نحمیاو سرایا و رعیلایا و مردخای و بلشان و مسفار وبغوای و رحوم و بعنه. و شماره مردان قوم اسرائیل:

The leaders of those groups were Zerubbabel, Jeshua, Nehemiah, Seraiah, Reelaiah, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispar, Bigvai, Rehum, and Baanah. There were:

۳ 3 بنی فرعوش دو هزار و یکصد و هفتاد و دو.

2,172 descendants of Parosh

۴ 4 بنی شفطیا سیصد و هفتاد و دو.

372 descendants of Shephatiah

۵ 5 بنی آرح هفتصد و هفتاد و پنج.

775 descendants of Arah

۶ 6 بنی فحت موآب ازبنی یشوع و یوآب دو هزار و هشتصد و دوازده.

2,812 descendants of Pahath-Moab, from the families of Jeshua and Joab

۷ 7 بنی عیلام هزار و دویست و پنجاه و چهار.

1,254 descendants of Elam

۸ 8 بنی زتونه صد و چهل و پنج.

945 descendants of Zattu

۹ 9 بنی زکای هفتصد و شصت.

۱۰ 10 بنی بانی ششصد و چهل و دو.

۱۱ 11 بنی بابای ششصد و بیست و سه.

۳۶ 36 و اما کاهنان: بنی یدعیا از خاندان یشوع نه صد و هفتاد و سه.

Priests who returned: 973 descendants of Jedaiah (that is, those from the family of Jeshua)

۳۷ 37 بنی امیر هزار و پنجاه و دو.

1,052 descendants of Immer

۳۸ 38 بنی فشحور هزار و دویست و چهل و هفت.

1,247 descendants of Pashhur

۳۹ 39 بنی حاریم هزار و هفده.

1,017 descendants of Harim. The ones from the [rest of the] tribe of Levi who returned were:

۴۰ 40 و اما لاویان: بنی یشوع و قدمیئیل از نسل هودویا هفتاد و چهار.

74 descendants of Jeshua and Kadmiel, who were from the family of Hodaviah

۴۱ 41 و مغنیان: بنی آساف صد و بیست و هشت.

128 singers who were descendants of Asaph

۴۲ 42 و پسران دربانان: بنی شلوم و بنی آطیر و بنی طلمون و بنی عقوب و بنی حطیطا وبنی شوبای جمیع اینها صد و سی و نه.

139 (gatekeepers/men who guarded the gates of the temple) who were descendants of Shallum, Ater, Talmon, Akkub, Hatita, and Shobai.

۴۳ 43 و امانتینیم: بنی صیحا و بنی حسوفا و بنی طباعوت،

The (temple workers/men who would work in the temple) who were descendants of these men: Ziha, Hasupha, Tabbaoth,

۴۴ 44 و بنی قیروس و بنی سیعها و بنی فادوم،

Keros, Siaha, Padon,

۴۵ 45 وبنی لبانه و بنی حجابه و بنی عقوب،

Lebanah, Hagabah, Akkub,

۴۶ 46 وبنی حاجاب و بنی شملای و بنی حانان،

Hagab, Shalmai, Hanan,

۴۷ 47 وبنی جدیل و بنی جحر و بنی رآیا،

Giddel, Gahar, Reaiah,

۴۸ 48 و بنی رصین و بنی نقودا و بنی جزام،

Rezin, Nekoda, Gazzam,

۴۹ 49 و بنی عزه و بنی فاسیح و بنی بیسای،

Uzza, Paseah, Besai,

۵۰ 50 و بنی اسنه و بنی معونیم وبنی نفوسیم،

Asnah, Meunim, Nephusim,

۵۱ 51 و بنی بقبوق و بنی حقوفا وبنی حرحور،

Bakbuk, Hakupha, Harhur,

۵۲ 52 و بنی بصلوت و بنی محیدا وبنی حرشا،

Bazluth, Mehida, Harsha,

۵۳ 53 و بنی برقوس و بنی سیسرا وبنی تامح،

Barkos, Sisera, Temah,

۵۴ 54 و بنی نصیح و بنی حطیفا.

Neziah, and Hatipha.

۵۵ 55 و پسران خادمان سلیمان: بنی سوطای وبنی هصوفرت و بنی فرودا،

These descendants of [King] Solomon’s servants [returned]: Sotai, Hassophereth, Peruda,

۵۶ 56 و بنی یعله وبنی درقون و بنی جدیل،

Jaalah, Darkon, Giddel,

۵۷ 57 و بنی شفطیا وبنی حطیل و بنی فوخره ظبائیم و بنی آمی.

Shephatiah, Hattil, Pokereth-Hazzebaim, and Ami.

۵۸ 58 جمیع نتینیم و پسران خادمان سلیمان سیصد ونود و دو.

Altogether, there were 392 temple workers and descendants of Solomon’s servants who returned.

۵۹ 59 و اینانند آنانی که از تل ملح و تل حرشابرآمدند یعنی کروب و ادان و امیر، اما خاندان پدران و عشیره خود را نشان نتوانستند داد که آیااز اسرائیلیان بودند یا نه.

There was another group who returned [to Judah] from Tel-Melah, Tel-Harsha, Kerub, Addan, and Immer [towns in Babylonia]. But they could not prove that they were descendants of [people who previously lived in] Israel.

۶۰ 60 بنی دلایا و بنی طوبیا وبنی نقودا ششصد و پنجاه و دو.

This group included 652 people who were descendants of Delaiah, Tobiah, and Nekoda.

۶۱ 61 و از پسران کاهنان، بنی حبایا و بنی هقوص و بنی برزلای که یکی از دختران برزلایی جلعادی را به زنی گرفت، پس به نام ایشان مسمی شدند.

Hobaiah’s clan, Hakkoz’s clan, and Barzillai’s clan also returned. Barzillai had married a woman who was a descendant of Barzillai from [the] Gilead [region], and he had taken for himself the name of his father-in-law’s clan.

۶۲ 62 اینان انساب خود را در میان آنانی که در نسب نامه هاثبت شده بودند طلبیدند، اما نیافتند، پس ازکهانت اخراج شدند.

The people in that group searched in the documents that had the names of the ancestors of all the clans, but these men’s names were not found. So they were not permitted do the work that priests did.

۶۳ 63 پس ترشاتا به ایشان امر فرمود که تا کاهنی با اوریم و تمیم برقرار نشودایشان از قدس اقداس نخورند.

The governor told them that they would need to ask a priest to consult Yahweh by [(casting/throwing] the sacred lots/stones [that had been marked]), to determine if those men were truly Israelis. When the priests did that, [if the stones showed that those men were Israelis], they would be permitted to eat the shares of the sacrifices that were given to the priests.

۶۴ 64 تمامی جماعت، با هم چهل و دو هزار و سیصد و شصت نفر بودند.

Altogether 42,360 Israeli people who returned to Judah.

۶۵ 65 سوای غلامان و کنیزان ایشان، که هفتهزار و سیصد و سی و هفت نفر بودند، ومغنیان و مغنیاه ایشان دویست نفر بودند.

There were also 7,337 servants and 200 musicians, both men and women, who returned.

۶۶ 66 واسبان ایشان هفتصد و سی و شش، و قاطران ایشان دویست و چهل و پنج.

The Israelis brought with them [from Babylonia] 736 horses, 245 mules,

۶۷ 67 و شتران ایشان چهارصد و سی و پنج و حماران ایشان ششهزار وهفتصد و بیست.

435 camels, and 6,720 donkeys.

۶۸ 68 و چون ایشان به خانه خداوند که دراورشلیم است رسیدند، بعضی از روسای آبا، هدایای تبرعی به جهت خانه خدا آوردند تا آن رادر جایش برپا نمایند.

When they arrived at the temple of Yahweh in Jerusalem, some of the clan leaders gave money [for the supplies needed] to rebuild the temple at the place where the temple had been previously.

۶۹ 69 برحسب قوه خود، شصت و یک هزار درهم طلا و پنج هزار منای نقره و صد (دست ) لباس کهانت به خزانه به جهت کار دادند.

They all gave as much money as they were able to give. Altogether they gave 61,000 gold coins, (6,250 pounds/3,000 kg.) of silver, and 100 robes for the priests.

۷۰ 70 پس کاهنان و لاویان و بعضی از قوم و مغنیان و دربانان و نتینیم در شهرهای خودساکن شدند و تمامی اسرائیل در شهرهای خودمسکن گرفتند.

Then the priests, the [other] descendants of Levi, the musicians, the temple guards, and some of the [other] people started to live in the towns and villages [near Jerusalem]. The rest of the people went to the other places in Israel where their ancestors had lived.
