خروج 2

۱ 1 و شخصی از خاندان لاوی رفته، یکی ازدختران لاوی را به زنی گرفت.

And there was a certain man of the tribe of Levi, who took as wife one of the daughters of Levi.

۲ 2 و آن زن حامله شده، پسری بزاد. و چون او را نیکومنظردید، وی را سه ماه نهان داشت.

And she conceived, and bore a male child; and having seen that he was fair, they hid him three months.

۳ 3 و چون نتوانست او را دیگر پنهان دارد، تابوتی از نی برایش گرفت، و آن را به قیر و زفت اندوده، طفل را در آن نهاد، وآن را در نیزار به کنار نهر گذاشت.

And when they could no longer hide him, his mother took for him an ark, and besmeared it with bitumen, and cast the child into it, and put it in the ooze by the river.

۴ 4 و خواهرش ازدور ایستاد تا بداند او را چه می‌شود.

And his sister was watching from a distance, to learn what would happen to him.

۵ 5 و دخترفرعون برای غسل به نهر فرود آمد. و کنیزانش به کنار نهر می‌گشتند. پس تابوت را در میان نیزاردیده، کنیزک خویش را فرستاد تا آن را بگیرد.

And the daughter of Pharao came down to the river to bathe; and her maids walked by the river's side, and having seen the ark in the ooze, she sent her maid, and took it up.

۶ 6 وچون آن را بگشاد، طفل را دید و اینک پسری گریان بود. پس دلش بر وی بسوخت و گفت: «این از اطفال عبرانیان است.»

And having opened it, she sees the babe weeping in the ark: and the daughter of Pharao had compassion on it, and said, This [is one] of the Hebrew's children.

۷ 7 و خواهر وی به دخترفرعون گفت: «آیا بروم و زنی شیرده را از زنان عبرانیان نزدت بخوانم تا طفل را برایت شیردهد؟»

And his sister said to the daughter of Pharao, Will you that I call to you a nurse of the Hebrews, and shall she suckle the child for you?

۸ 8 دختر فرعون به وی گفت: «برو.» پس آن دختر رفته، مادر طفل را بخواند.

And the daughter of Pharao said, Go: and the young woman went, and called the mother of the child.

۹ 9 و دختر فرعون گفت: «این طفل را ببر و او را برای من شیر بده ومزد تو را خواهم داد.» پس آن زن طفل رابرداشته، بدو شیر می‌داد.

And the daughter of Pharao said to her, Take care of this child, and suckled it for me, and I will give you the wages; and the woman took the child, and suckled it.

۱۰ 10 و چون طفل نموکرد، وی را نزد دختر فرعون برد، و او را پسر شد. و وی را موسی نام نهاد زیرا گفت: «او را از آب کشیدم.»

And when the boy was grown, she brought him to the daughter of Pharao, and he became her son; and she called his name, Moses, saying, I took him out of the water.

۱۱ 11 و واقع شد در آن ایام که چون موسی بزرگ شد، نزد برادران خود بیرون آمد، و به‌کارهای دشوار ایشان نظر انداخته، شخصی مصری را دیدکه شخصی عبرانی را که از برادران او بود، می‌زند.

And it came to pass in that length of time, that Moses having grown, went out to his brethren the sons of Israel: and having noticed their distress, he sees an Egyptian striking a certain Hebrew of his brethren the children of Israel.

۱۲ 12 پس به هر طرف نظر افکنده، چون کسی را ندید، آن مصری را کشت، و او را در ریگ پنهان ساخت.

And having looked round this way and that way, he sees no one; and he struck the Egyptian, and hid him in the sand.

۱۳ 13 و روز دیگر بیرون آمد، که ناگاه دومرد عبرانی منازعه می‌کنند، پس به ظالم گفت: «چرا همسایه خود را می‌زنی.»

And having gone out the second day he sees two Hebrew men fighting; and he says to the injurer, Therefore smite you your neighbour?

۱۴ 14 گفت: «کیست که تو را بر ما حاکم یا داور ساخته است، مگر تومی خواهی مرا بکشی چنانکه آن مصری راکشتی؟» پس موسی ترسید و گفت: «یقین این امرشیوع یافته است.»

And he said, Who made you a ruler and a judge over us? will you kill me as you yesterday killed the Egyptian? Then Moses was alarmed, and said, If [it be] thus, this matter has become known.

۱۵ 15 و چون فرعون این ماجرا رابشنید، قصد قتل موسی کرد، و موسی از حضورفرعون فرار کرده، در زمین مدیان ساکن شد. و برسر چاهی بنشست.

And Pharao heard this matter, and sought to kill Moses; and Moses departed from the presence of Pharao, and lived in the land of Madiam; and having come into the land of Madiam, he sat on the well.

۱۶ 16 و کاهن مدیان را هفت دختر بود که آمدند و آب کشیده، آبخورها را پرکردند، تا گله پدر خویش را سیراب کنند.

And the priest of Madiam had seven daughters, feeding the flock of their father Jothor; and they came and drew water until they filled their pitchers, to water the flock of their father Jothor.

۱۷ 17 وشبانان نزدیک آمدند، تا ایشان را دور کنند. آنگاه موسی برخاسته، ایشان را مدد کرد، و گله ایشان راسیراب نمود.

And the shepherds came, and were driving them away; and Moses rose up and rescued them, and drew water for them, and watered their sheep.

۱۸ 18 و چون نزد پدر خود رعوئیل آمدند، او گفت: «چگونه امروز بدین زودی برگشتید؟»

And they came to Raguel their father; and he said to them, Why have you come so quickly today?

۱۹ 19 گفتند: «شخصی مصری ما را ازدست شبانان رهایی داد، و آب نیز برای ما کشیده، گله را سیراب نمود.»

And they said, An Egyptian delivered us from the shepherds, and drew water for us and watered our sheep.

۲۰ 20 پس به دختران خودگفت: «او کجاست؟ چرا آن مرد را ترک کردید؟ وی را بخوانید تا نان خورد.»

And he said to his daughters, And where is he? and why have you left the man? call him therefore, that he may eat bread.

۲۱ 21 و موسی راضی شد که با آن مرد ساکن شود، و او دختر خود، صفوره را به موسی داد.

And Moses was established with the man, and he gave Sepphora his daughter to Moses to wife.

۲۲ 22 و آن زن پسری زایید، و (موسی ) او را جرشون نام نهاد، چه گفت: «در زمین بیگانه نزیل شدم.»

And the woman conceived and bore a son, and Moses called his name Gersam, saying, I am a sojourner in a strange land.

۲۳ 23 و واقع شد بعد از ایام بسیار که پادشاه مصربمرد، و بنی‌اسرائیل به‌سبب بندگی آه کشیده، استغاثه کردند، و ناله ایشان به‌سبب بندگی نزد خدا برآمد.

And in those days after a length of time, the king of Egypt died; and the children of Israel groaned because of their tasks, and cried, and their cry because of their tasks went up to God.

۲۴ 24 و خدا ناله ایشان را شنید، و خداعهد خود را با ابراهیم و اسحاق و یعقوب بیادآورد.

And God heard their groanings, and God remembered his covenant made with Abraam and Isaac and Jacob.

۲۵ 25 و خدا بر بنی‌اسرائیل نظر کرد و خدادانست.

And God looked upon the children of Israel, and was made known to them.
