افسسیان 4

۱ 1 لهذا من که در خداوند اسیر می‌باشم، ازشما استدعا دارم که به شایستگی آن دعوتی که به آن خوانده شده‌اید، رفتار کنید،

Call upon you, then, do I — the prisoner of the Lord — to walk worthily of the calling with which ye were called,

۲ 2 باکمال فروتنی و تواضع و حلم، و متحمل یکدیگردر محبت باشید؛

with all lowliness and meekness, with long-suffering, forbearing one another in love,

۳ 3 و سعی کنید که یگانگی روح را در رشته سلامتی نگاه دارید.

being diligent to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of the peace;

۴ 4 یک جسدهست و یک روح، چنانکه نیز دعوت شده‌اید دریک امید دعوت خویش.

one body and one Spirit, according as also ye were called in one hope of your calling;

۵ 5 یک خداوند، یک ایمان، یک تعمید؛

one Lord, one faith, one baptism,

۶ 6 یک خدا و پدر همه که فوق همه و در میان همه و در همه شما است.

one God and Father of all, who [is] over all, and through all, and in you all,

۷ 7 لیکن هریکی از ما را فیض بخشیده شد بحسب اندازه بخشش مسیح.

and to each one of you was given the grace, according to the measure of the gift of Christ,

۸ 8 بنابراین می‌گوید: «چون او به اعلی علیین صعود نمود، اسیری را به اسیری برد و بخششها به مردم داد.»

wherefore, he saith, 'Having gone up on high he led captive captivity, and gave gifts to men,' —

۹ 9 اما این صعود نمودچیست؟ جز اینکه اول نزول هم کرد به اسفل زمین.

and that, he went up, what is it except that he also went down first to the lower parts of the earth?

۱۰ 10 آنکه نزول نمود، همان است که صعودنیز کرد بالاتر از جمیع افلاک تا همه‌چیزها را پرکند.

he who went down is the same also who went up far above all the heavens, that He may fill all things —

۱۱ 11 و او بخشید بعضی رسولان و بعضی انبیا وبعضی مبشرین و بعضی شبانان و معلمان را،

and He gave some [as] apostles, and some [as] prophets, and some [as] proclaimers of good news, and some [as] shepherds and teachers,

۱۲ 12 برای تکمیل مقدسین، برای کار خدمت، برای بنای جسد مسیح،

unto the perfecting of the saints, for a work of ministration, for a building up of the body of the Christ,

۱۳ 13 تا همه به یگانگی ایمان ومعرفت تام پسر خدا و به انسان کامل، به اندازه قامت پری مسیح برسیم.

till we may all come to the unity of the faith and of the recognition of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to a measure of stature of the fulness of the Christ,

۱۴ 14 تا بعد از این اطفال متموج و رانده شده از باد هر تعلیم نباشیم، ازدغابازی مردمان در حیله اندیشی برای مکرهای گمراهی؛

that we may no more be babes, tossed and borne about by every wind of the teaching, in the sleight of men, in craftiness, unto the artifice of leading astray,

۱۵ 15 بلکه در محبت پیروی راستی نموده، در هرچیز ترقی نماییم در او که سر است، یعنی مسیح؛

and, being true in love, we may increase to Him [in] all things, who is the head — the Christ;

۱۶ 16 که از او تمام بدن مرکب و مرتب گشته، به مدد هر مفصلی و برحسب عمل به اندازه هرعضوی بدن را نمو می‌دهد برای بنای خویشتن در محبت.

from whom the whole body, being fitly joined together and united, through the supply of every joint, according to the working in the measure of each single part, the increase of the body doth make for the building up of itself in love.

۱۷ 17 پس این را می‌گویم و در خداوند شهادت می‌دهم که شما دیگر رفتار منمایید، چنانکه امت‌ها در بطالت ذهن خود رفتار می‌نمایند.

This, then, I say, and I testify in the Lord; ye are no more to walk, as also the other nations walk, in the vanity of their mind,

۱۸ 18 که در عقل خود تاریک هستند و از حیات خدامحروم، به‌سبب جهالتی که بجهت سخت دلی ایشان در ایشان است.

being darkened in the understanding, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart,

۱۹ 19 که بی‌فکر شده، خود رابه فجور تسلیم کرده‌اند تا هرقسم ناپاکی را به حرص به عمل آورند.

who, having ceased to feel, themselves did give up to the lasciviousness, for the working of all uncleanness in greediness;

۲۰ 20 لیکن شما مسیح را به اینطور نیاموخته‌اید.

and ye did not so learn the Christ,

۲۱ 21 هرگاه او را شنیده‌اید و در او تعلیم یافته‌اید، به نهجی که راستی در عیسی است.

if so be ye did hear him, and in him were taught, as truth is in Jesus;

۲۲ 22 تا آنکه شمااز جهت رفتار گذشته خود، انسانیت کهنه را که ازشهوات فریبنده فاسد می‌گردد، از خود بیرون کنید.

ye are to put off concerning the former behaviour the old man, that is corrupt according to the desires of the deceit,

۲۳ 23 و به روح ذهن خود تازه شوید.

and to be renewed in the spirit of your mind,

۲۴ 24 وانسانیت تازه را که به صورت خدا در عدالت وقدوسیت حقیقی آفریده شده است بپوشید.

and to put on the new man, which, according to God, was created in righteousness and kindness of the truth.

۲۵ 25 لهذا دروغ را ترک کرده، هرکس با همسایه خود راست بگوید، زیرا که ما اعضای یکدیگریم.

Wherefore, putting away the lying, speak truth each with his neighbour, because we are members one of another;

۲۶ 26 خشم گیرید و گناه مورزید؛ خورشید بر غیظشما غروب نکند.

be angry and do not sin; let not the sun go down upon your wrath,

۲۷ 27 ابلیس را مجال ندهید.

neither give place to the devil;

۲۸ 28 دزد دیگر دزدی نکند بلکه به‌دستهای خود کارنیکو کرده، زحمت بکشد تا بتواند نیازمندی راچیزی دهد.

whoso is stealing let him no more steal, but rather let him labour, working the thing that is good with the hands, that he may have to impart to him having need.

۲۹ 29 هیچ سخن بد از دهان شما بیرون نیاید، بلکه آنچه بحسب حاجت و برای بنا نیکوباشد تا شنوندگان را فیض رساند.

Let no corrupt word out of your mouth go forth, but what is good unto the needful building up, that it may give grace to the hearers;

۳۰ 30 و روح قدوس خدا را که به او تا روز رستگاری مختوم شده‌اید، محزون مسازید.

and make not sorrowful the Holy Spirit of God, in which ye were sealed to a day of redemption.

۳۱ 31 و هرقسم تلخی وغیظ و خشم و فریاد و بدگویی و خباثت را ازخود دور کنید،

Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil-speaking, be put away from you, with all malice,

۳۲ 32 و با یگدیگر مهربان باشید ورحیم و همدیگر را عفو نمایید چنانکه خدا درمسیح شما را هم آمرزیده است.

and become one to another kind, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, according as also God in Christ did forgive you.
