دانیال 3

۱ 1 نبوکدنصر پادشاه تمثالی از طلا که ارتفاعش شصت ذراع و عرضش شش ذراع بود ساخت و آن را در همواری دورا درولایت بابل نصب کرد.

Nebuchad-nezzar the King made an image of gold, whose height was three score cubits, and the breadth thereof sixe cubites: hee set it vp in the plaine of Dura, in the prouince of Babel.

۲ 2 و نبوکدنصر پادشاه فرستاد که امرا و روسا و والیان و داوران وخزانه‌داران و مشیران و وکیلان و جمیع سروران ولایتها را جمع کنند تا به جهت تبرک تمثالی که نبوکدنصر پادشاه نصب نموده بود بیایند.

Then Nebuchad-nezzar ye King sent foorth to gather together the nobles, the princes and the dukes, the iudges, the receiuers, the counsellers, the officers, and all the gouernours of the prouinces, that they should come to the dedication of the image, which Nebuchad-nezzar the King had set vp.

۳ 3 پس امرا و روسا و والیان و داوران و خزانه‌داران ومشیران و وکیلان و جمیع سروران ولایتها به جهت تبرک تمثالی که نبوکدنصر پادشاه نصب نموده بود جمع شده، پیش تمثالی که نبوکدنصرنصب کرده بود ایستادند.

So the nobles, princes and dukes, the iudges, the receiuers, the counsellers, the officers, and all the gouernours of the prouinces were assembled vnto the dedicating of the image, that Nebuchad-nezzar the King had set vp: and they stood before the image, which Nebuchad-nezzar had set vp.

۴ 4 و منادی به آواز بلندندا کرده، می‌گفت: «ای قومها و امت‌ها و زبانهابرای شما حکم است؛

Then an herald cried aloude, Be it knowen to you, O people, nations, and languages,

۵ 5 که چون آواز کرنا و سرناو عود و بربط و سنتور و کمانچه و هر قسم آلات موسیقی را بشنوید، آنگاه به رو افتاده، تمثال طلارا که نبوکدنصر پادشاه نصب کرده است سجده نمایید.

That when ye heare the sound of the cornet, trumpet, harpe, sackebut, psalterie, dulcimer, and all instruments of musike, ye fall downe and worship the golden image, that Nebuchad-nezzar the King hath set vp,

۶ 6 و هر‌که به رو نیفتد و سجده ننماید درهمان ساعت در میان تون آتش ملتهب افکنده خواهد شد.»

And whosoeuer falleth not downe and worshippeth, shall the same houre bee cast into the middes of an hote fierie fornace.

۷ 7 لهذا چون همه قومها آواز کرنا و سرنا و عودو بربط و سنتور و هر قسم آلات موسیقی راشنیدند، همه قومها و امت‌ها و زبانها به رو افتاده، تمثال طلا را که نبوکدنصر پادشاه نصب کرده بودسجده نمودند.

Therefore assoone as all the people heard the sound of the cornet, trumpet, harpe, sackebut, psalterie, and all instruments of musike, all the people, nations, and languages fell downe, and worshipped the golden image, that Nebuchad-nezzar the King had set vp.

۸ 8 اما در آنوقت بعضی کلدانیان نزدیک آمده، بر یهودیان شکایت آوردند،

By reason whereof at that same time came men of the Caldeans, and grieuously accused the Iewes.

۹ 9 و به نبوکدنصر پادشاه عرض کرده، گفتند: «ای پادشاه تا به ابد زنده باش!

For they spake and said to the King Nebuchad-nezzar, O King, liue for euer.

۱۰ 10 تو‌ای پادشاه فرمانی صادرنمودی که هر‌که آواز کرنا و سرنا و عود و بربط وسنتور و کمانچه و هر قسم آلات موسیقی رابشنود به رو افتاده، تمثال طلا را سجده نماید.

Thou, O King, hast made a decree, that euery man that shall heare the sounde of the cornet, trumpet, harpe, sackebut, psalterie, and dulcimer, and all instruments of musike, shall fall downe and worship the golden image,

۱۱ 11 و هر‌که به رو نیفتد و سجده ننماید در میان تون آتش ملتهب افکنده شود.

And whosoeuer falleth not downe, and worshippeth, that he should be cast into the mids of an hote fierie fornace.

۱۲ 12 پس چند نفر یهودکه ایشان را بر کارهای ولایت بابل گماشته‌ای هستند، یعنی شدرک و میشک و عبدنغو. این اشخاص‌ای پادشاه، تو را احترام نمی نمایند وخدایان تو را عبادت نمی کنند و تمثال طلا را که نصب نموده‌ای سجده نمی نمایند.»

There are certeine Iewes whome thou hast set ouer the charge of ye prouince of Babel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego: these men, O King, haue not regarded thy commandement, neither wil they serue thy gods, nor worship the golden image, that thou hast set vp.

۱۳ 13 آنگاه نبوکدنصر با خشم و غضب فرمود تاشدرک و میشک و عبدنغو را حاضر کنند. پس این اشخاص را در حضور پادشاه آوردند.

Then Nebuchad-nezzar in his anger and wrath commanded that they should bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego: so these men were brought before the King.

۱۴ 14 پس نبوکدنصر ایشان را خطاب کرده، گفت: «ای شدرک و میشک و عبدنغو! آیا شما عمد خدایان مرا نمی پرستید وتمثال طلا را که نصب نموده‌ام سجده نمی کنید؟

And Nebuchad-nezzar spake, and said vnto them, What disorder? will not you, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego serue my god, nor worship the golden image, that I haue set vp?

۱۵ 15 الان اگر مستعد بشوید که چون آواز کرنا و سرنا و عود و بربط و سنتور وکمانچه و هر قسم آلات موسیقی را بشنوید به روافتاده، تمثالی را که ساخته‌ام سجده نمایید، (فبها) و اما اگر سجده ننمایید، در همان ساعت در میان تون آتش ملتهب انداخته خواهید شد وکدام خدایی است که شما را از دست من رهایی دهد.»

Now therefore are ye ready when ye heare the sound of the cornet, trumpet, harpe, sackebut, psalterie, and dulcimer, and all instruments of musike, to fall downe, and worship the image, which I haue made? for if ye worship it not, ye shall be cast immediatly into the middes of an hote fierie fornace: for who is that God, that can deliuer you out of mine handes?

۱۶ 16 شدرک و میشک و عبدنغو در جواب پادشاه گفتند: «ای نبوکدنصر! درباره این امر ما راباکی نیست که تو را جواب دهیم.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered and said to the King, O Nebuchad-nezzar, we are not carefull to answere thee in this matter.

۱۷ 17 اگر چنین است، خدای ما که او را می‌پرستیم قادر است که ما را از تون آتش ملتهب برهاند و او ما را از دست تو‌ای پادشاه خواهد رهانید.

Beholde, our God whom we serue, is able to deliuer vs from the hote fierie fornace, and hee will deliuer vs out of thine hand, O King.

۱۸ 18 و اگر نه، ای پادشاه تو را معلوم باد که خدایان تو را عبادت نخواهیم کرد و تمثال طلا را که نصب نموده‌ای سجده نخواهیم نمود.»

But if not, bee it knowen to thee, O King, that wee will not serue thy gods, nor worship the golden image, which thou hast set vp.

۱۹ 19 آنگاه نبوکدنصر از خشم مملو گردید وهیئت چهره‌اش بر شدرک و میشک و عبدنغومتغیر گشت و متکلم شده، فرمود تا تون را هفت چندان زیاده تر از عادتش بتابند.

Then was Nebuchad-nezzar full of rage, and the forme of his visage was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego: therefore hee charged and commanded that they should heate the fornace at once seuen times more then it was wont to be heat.

۲۰ 20 و به قویترین شجاعان لشکر خود فرمود که شدرک و میشک وعبدنغو را ببندند و در تون آتش ملتهب بیندازند.

And hee charged the most valiant men of warre that were in his armie, to binde Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and to cast them into the hote fierie fornace.

۲۱ 21 پس این اشخاص را در رداها و جبه‌ها وعمامه‌ها و سایر لباسهای ایشان بستند و در میان تون آتش ملتهب افکندند.

So these men were bounde in their coates, their hosen, and their clokes, with their other garments, and cast into the middes of the hote fierie fornace.

۲۲ 22 و چونکه فرمان پادشاه سخت بود و تون بی‌نهایت تابیده شده، شعله آتش آن کسان را که شدرک و میشک وعبدنغو را برداشته بودند کشت.

Therefore, because the Kings commandement was straite, that the fornace should be exceeding hote, the flame of the fire slew those men that brought foorth Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego.

۲۳ 23 و این سه مردیعنی شدرک و میشک و عبدنغو در میان تون آتش ملتهب بسته افتادند.

And these three men Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego fell downe bound into the middes of the hote fierie fornace.

۲۴ 24 آنگاه نبوکدنصر پادشاه در حیرت افتاد وبزودی هر‌چه تمامتر برخاست و مشیران خود راخطاب کرده، گفت: «آیا سه شخص نبستیم و درمیان آتش نینداختیم؟» ایشان در جواب پادشاه عرض کردند که «صحیح است‌ای پادشاه!»

Then Nebuchad-nezzar the King was astonied and rose vp in haste, and spake, and saide vnto his counsellers, Did not wee cast three men bound into the middes of the fire? Who answered and said vnto the King, It is true, O King.

۲۵ 25 اودر جواب گفت: «اینک من چهار مرد می‌بینم که گشاده در میان آتش می‌خرامند و ضرری به ایشان نرسیده است و منظر چهارمین شبیه پسرخدا است.»

And he answered, and said, Loe, I see foure men loose, walking in the middes of the fire, and they haue no hurt, and the forme of the fourth is like the sonne of God.

۲۶ 26 پس نبوکدنصر به دهنه تون آتش ملتهب نزدیک آمد و خطاب کرده، گفت: «ای شدرک و میشک و عبدنغو! ای بندگان خدای تعالی بیرون شوید و بیایید.» پس شدرک و میشک و عبدنغو از میان آتش بیرون آمدند.

Then the King Nebuchad-nezzar came neere to the mouth of the hote fierie fornace, and spake and said, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, the seruants of the hie God goe foorth and come hither: so Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego came foorth of the middes of the fire.

۲۷ 27 و امرا وروسا و والیان و مشیران پادشاه جمع شده، آن مردان را دیدند که آتش به بدنهای ایشان اثری نکرده و مویی از سر ایشان نسوخته و رنگ ردای ایشان تبدیل نشده، بلکه بوی آتش به ایشان نرسیده است.

Then the nobles, princes and dukes, and the Kings counsellers came together to see these men, because the fire had no power ouer their bodies: for not an heare of their head was burnt, neither was their coates changed, nor any smelll of fire came vpon them.

۲۸ 28 آنگاه نبوکدنصر متکلم شده، گفت: «متبارک باد خدای شدرک و میشک و عبدنغو که فرشته خود را فرستاد و بندگان خویش را که بر اوتوکل داشتند و به فرمان پادشاه مخالفت ورزیدندو بدنهای خود را تسلیم نمودند تا خدای دیگری سوای خدای خویش را عبادت و سجده ننمایند، رهایی داده است.

Wherefore Nebuchad-nezzar spake and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, who hath sent his Angel, and deliuered his seruants, that put their trust in him, and haue changed the Kings commandement, and yeelded their bodies rather then they would serue or worship any god, saue their owne God.

۲۹ 29 بنابراین فرمانی از من صادرشد که هر قوم و امت و زبان که حرف ناشایسته‌ای به ضد خدای شدرک و میشک و عبدنغو بگویند، پاره پاره شوند و خانه های ایشان به مزبله مبدل گردد، زیرا خدایی دیگر نیست که بدین منوال رهایی تواند داد.»

Therefore I make a decree, that euery people, nation, and language, which speake any blasphemie against the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, shalbe drawen in pieces, and their houses shall be made a iakes, because there is no god that can deliuer after this sort.

۳۰ 30 آنگاه پادشاه (منصب ) شدرک و میشک و عبدنغو را در ولایت بابل برتری داد.

Then the King promoted Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego in the prouince of Babel.
