< دوم سموئیل 23 >

و این است سخنان آخر داود: «وحی داود بن یسا. و وحی مردی که بر مقام بلند ممتاز گردید، مسیح خدای یعقوب، و مغنی شیرین اسرائیل.

۱ 1

Now these are the last words of David. David the son of Jesse saith, And the man who was raised on high saith, The anointed of the God of Jacob, And the sweet psalmist of Israel:

روح خداوند به وسیله من متکلم شد و کلام او بر زبانم جاری گردید.

۲ 2

The Spirit of Jehovah spake by me, And his word was upon my tongue.

خدای اسرائیل متکلم شد و صخره اسرائیل مراگفت: آنکه بر مردمان حکمرانی کند، عادل باشدو با خدا ترسی سلطنت نماید.

۳ 3

The God of Israel said, The Rock of Israel spake to me: One that ruleth over men righteously, That ruleth in the fear of God,

و او خواهد بودمثل روشنایی صبح، وقتی که آفتاب طلوع نماید، یعنی صبح بی‌ابر، هنگامی که علف سبز از زمین می‌روید، به‌سبب درخشندگی بعد از باران.

۴ 4

[He shall be] as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth, A morning without clouds, [When] the tender grass [springeth] out of the earth, Through clear shining after rain.

یقین خانه من با خدا چنین نیست. لیکن عهدجاودانی با من بسته است، که در همه‌چیز آراسته و مستحکم است. و تمامی نجات و تمامی مسرت من این است، هرچند آن را نمو نمی دهد.

۵ 5

Verily my house is not so with God; Yet he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, Ordered in all things, and sure: For it is all my salvation, and all [my] desire, Although he maketh it not to grow.

لیکن جمیع مردان بلیعال مثل خارهایند که دورانداخته می‌شوند. چونکه آنها را به‌دست نتوان گرفت.

۶ 6

But the ungodly shall be all of them as thorns to be thrust away, Because they cannot be taken with the hand;

و کسی‌که ایشان را لمس نماید، می‌بایدبا آهن و نی نیزه مسلح شود. و ایشان در مسکن خود با آتش سوخته خواهند شد.»

۷ 7

But the man that toucheth them Must be armed with iron and the staff of a spear: And they shall be utterly burned with fire in [their] place.

و نامهای شجاعانی که داود داشت این است: یوشیب بشبت تحکمونی که سردار شالیشیم بودکه همان عدینو عصنی باشد که بر هشتصد نفرتاخت آورد و ایشان را در یک وقت کشت.

۸ 8

These are the names of the mighty men whom David had: Josheb-basshebeth a Tahchemonite, chief of the captains; the same was Adino the Eznite, against eight hundred slain at one time.

و بعد از او العازار بن دودو ابن اخوخی، یکی از آن سه مرد شجاع که با داود بودند، هنگامی که فلسطینیان را که در آنجا برای جنگ جمع شده، ومردان اسرائیل رفته بودند، به مقاتله طلبیدند.

۹ 9

And after him was Eleazar the son of Dodai the son of an Ahohite, one of the three mighty men with David, when they defied the Philistines that were there gathered together to battle, and the men of Israel were gone away.

واما او برخاسته، با فلسطینیان جنگ کرد تا دستش خسته شد و دستش به شمشیر چسبید و خداونددر آن روز، ظفر عظیمی داد، و قوم در عقب اوفقط برای غارت کردن برگشتند.

۱۰ 10

He arose, and smote the Philistines until his hand was weary, and his hand clave unto the sword; and Jehovah wrought a great victory that day; and the people returned after him only to take spoil.

و بعد از او شمه بن آجی هراری بود وفلسطینیان، لشکری فراهم آوردند، در جایی که قطعه زمینی پر از عدس بود، و قوم از حضورفلسطینیان فرار می‌کردند.

۱۱ 11

And after him was Shammah the son of Agee a Hararite. And the Philistines were gathered together into a troop, where was a plot of ground full of lentils; and the people fled from the Philistines.

آنگاه او در میان آن قطعه زمین ایستاد و آن را نگاه داشته، فلسطینیان را شکست داد و خداوند ظفر عظیمی داد.

۱۲ 12

But he stood in the midst of the plot, and defended it, and slew the Philistines; and Jehovah wrought a great victory.

و سه نفر از آن سی سردار فرود شده، نزدداود در وقت حصاد به مغاره عدلام آمدند، ولشکر فلسطینیان در وادی رفائیم اردو زده بودند.

۱۳ 13

And three of the thirty chief men went down, and came to David in the harvest time unto the cave of Adullam; and the troop of the Philistines was encamped in the valley of Rephaim.

و داود در آن وقت در ملاذ خویش بود و قراول فلسطینیان در بیت لحم.

۱۴ 14

And David was then in the stronghold; and the garrison of the Philistines was then in Beth-lehem.

و داود خواهش نموده، گفت: «کاش کسی مرا از چاهی که نزددروازه بیت لحم است آب بنوشاند.»

۱۵ 15

And David longed, and said, Oh that one would give me water to drink of the well of Beth-lehem, which is by the gate!

پس آن سه مرد شجاع، لشکر فلسطینیان را از میان شکافته، آب را از چاهی که نزد دروازه بیت لحم است کشیده، برداشتند و آن را نزد داود آوردند، اما نخواست که آن را بنوشد و آن را به جهت خداوند ریخت.

۱۶ 16

And the three mighty men brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Beth-lehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David: but he would not drink thereof, but poured it out unto Jehovah.

و گفت: «ای خداوند حاشا ازمن که این کار را بکنم، مگر این خون آن کسان نیست که به خطر جان خود رفتند؟» از این جهت نخواست که بنوشد. کاری که این سه مرد کردند، این است.

۱۷ 17

And he said, Be it far from me, O Jehovah, that I should do this: [shall I drink] the blood of the men that went in jeopardy of their lives? therefore he would not drink it. These things did the three mighty men.

و ابیشای، برادر یوآب بن صرویه، سردارسه نفر بود و نیزه خود را بر سیصد نفر حرکت داده، ایشان را کشت و در میان آن سه نفر اسم یافت.

۱۸ 18

And Abishai, the brother of Joab, the son of Zeruiah, was chief of the three. And he lifted up his spear against three hundred and slew them, and had a name among the three.

آیا از آن سه نفر مکرم تر نبود؟ پس سردار ایشان شد لیکن به سه نفر اول نرسید.

۱۹ 19

Was he not most honorable of the three? therefore he was made their captain: howbeit he attained not unto the [first] three.

و بنایاهو ابن یهویاداع، پسر مردی شجاع قبصئیلی، که کارهای عظیم کرده بود، دو پسراریئیل موآبی را کشت و در روز برف به حفره‌ای فرود شده، شیری را بکشت.

۲۰ 20

And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man of Kabzeel, who had done mighty deeds, he slew the two [sons of] Ariel of Moab: he went down also and slew a lion in the midst of a pit in time of snow.

و مرد خوش اندام مصری‌ای را کشت و آن مصری در دست خود نیزه‌ای داشت اما نزد وی با چوب دستی رفت و نیزه را از دست مصری ربود و وی را با نیزه خودش کشت.

۲۱ 21

And he slew an Egyptian, a goodly man: and the Egyptian had a spear in his hand; but he went down to him with a staff, and plucked the spear out of the Egyptian’s hand, and slew him with his own spear.

و بنایاهو ابن یهویاداع این کارها را کرد و در میان آن سه مرد شجاع اسم یافت.

۲۲ 22

These things did Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and had a name among the three mighty men.

و از آن سی نفر مکرمتر شد لیکن به آن سه نفر اول نرسید و داود او را بر اهل مشورت خود گماشت.

۲۳ 23

He was more honorable than the thirty, but he attained not to the [first] three. And David set him over his guard.

و عسائیل برادر یوآب یکی از آن سی نفربود و الحانان بن دودوی بیت لحمی،

۲۴ 24

Asahel the brother of Joab was one of the thirty; Elhanan the son of Dodo of Beth-lehem,

و شمه حرودی و الیقای حرودی،

۲۵ 25

Shammah the Harodite, Elika the Harodite,
