دوم سموئیل 15

۱ 1 و بعد از آن، واقع شد که ابشالوم ارابه‌ای و اسبان و پنجاه مرد که پیش اوبدوند، مهیا نمود.

And it came to pass after this, that Absalom prepared him a chariot and horses, and fifty men to run before him.

۲ 2 و ابشالوم صبح زود برخاسته، به کناره راه دروازه می‌ایستاد، و هر کسی‌که دعوایی می‌داشت و نزد پادشاه به محاکمه می‌آمد، ابشالوم او را خوانده، می‌گفت: «تو ازکدام شهر هستی؟» و او می‌گفت: «بنده ات از فلان سبط از اسباط اسرائیل هستم.»

And Absalom used to rise up early, and stand beside the way of the gate; and it was so, that when any man had a suit which should come to the king for judgment, then Absalom called unto him, and said: 'Of what city art thou?' And he said: 'Thy servant is of one of the tribes of Israel.'

۳ 3 و ابشالوم او رامی گفت: «ببین، کارهای تو نیکو و راست است لیکن از جانب پادشاه کسی نیست که تو رابشنود.»

And Absalom said unto him: 'See, thy matters are good and right; but there is no man deputed of the king to hear thee.'

۴ 4 و ابشالوم می‌گفت: «کاش که در زمین داور می‌شدم و هر کس که دعوایی یا مرافعه‌ای می‌داشت، نزد من می‌آمد و برای او انصاف می‌نمودم.»

Absalom said moreover: 'Oh that I were made judge in the land, that every man who hath any suit or cause might come unto me, and I would do him justice!'

۵ 5 و هنگامی که کسی نزدیک آمده، اورا تعظیم می‌نمود، دست خود را دراز کرده، او رامی گرفت و می‌بوسید.

And it was so, that when any man came nigh to prostrate himself before him, he put forth his hand, and took hold of him, and kissed him.

۶ 6 و ابشالوم با همه اسرائیل که نزد پادشاه برای داوری می‌آمدند بدین منوال عمل می‌نمود، پس ابشالوم دل مردان اسرائیل رافریفت.

And on this manner did Absalom to all Israel that came to the king for judgment; so Absalom stole the hearts of the men of Israel.

۷ 7 و بعد از انقضای چهل سال، ابشالوم به پادشاه گفت: «مستدعی اینکه بروم تا نذری را که برای خداوند در حبرون کرده‌ام، وفا نمایم،

And it came to pass at the end of forty years, that Absalom said unto the king: 'I pray thee, let me go and pay my vow, which I have vowed unto the LORD, in Hebron.

۸ 8 زیراکه بنده ات وقتی که در جشور ارام ساکن بودم، نذرکرده، گفتم که اگر خداوند مرا به اورشلیم بازآورد، خداوند را عبادت خواهم نمود.»

For thy servant vowed a vow while I abode at Geshur in Aram, saying: If the LORD shall indeed bring me back to Jerusalem, then I will serve the LORD.'

۹ 9 پادشاه وی را گفت: «به سلامتی برو.» پس او برخاسته، به حبرون رفت.

And the king said unto him: 'Go in peace.' So he arose, and went to Hebron.

۱۰ 10 و ابشالوم، جاسوسان به تمامی اسباط اسرائیل فرستاده، گفت: «به مجرد شنیدن آواز کرنا بگویید که ابشالوم در حبرون پادشاه شده است.»

But Absalom sent spies throughout all the tribes of Israel, saying: 'As soon as ye hear the sound of the horn, then ye shall say: Absalom is king in Hebron.'

۱۱ 11 و دویست نفر که دعوت شده بودند، همراه ابشالوم از اورشلیم رفتند، و اینان به صافدلی رفته، چیزی ندانستند.

And with Absalom went two hundred men out of Jerusalem, that were invited, and went in their simplicity; and they knew not any thing.

۱۲ 12 و ابشالوم اخیتوفل جیلونی را که مشیر داود بود، از شهرش، جیلوه، وقتی که قربانی‌ها می‌گذرانید، طلبید وفتنه سخت شد، و قوم با ابشالوم روزبه روز زیاده می‌شدند.

And Absalom sent for Ahithophel the Gilonite, David's counsellor, from his city, even from Giloh, while he offered the sacrifices. And the conspiracy was strong; for the people increased continually with Absalom.

۱۳ 13 و کسی نزد داود آمده، او را خبر داده، گفت که «دلهای مردان اسرائیل در عقب ابشالوم گرویده است.»

And there came a messenger to David, saying: 'The hearts of the men of Israel are after Absalom.'

۱۴ 14 و داود به تمامی خادمانی که بااو در اورشلیم بودند، گفت: «برخاسته، فرار کنیم والا ما را از ابشالوم نجات نخواهد بود. پس به تعجیل روانه شویم مبادا او ناگهان به ما برسد وبدی بر ما عارض شود و شهر را به دم شمشیربزند.

And David said unto all his servants that were with him at Jerusalem: 'Arise, and let us flee; or else none of us shall escape from Absalom; make speed to depart, lest he overtake us quickly, and bring down evil upon us, and smite the city with the edge of the sword.'

۱۵ 15 و خادمان پادشاه، به پادشاه عرض کردند: «اینک بندگانت حاضرند برای هرچه آقای ماپادشاه اختیار کند.»

And the king's servants said unto the king: 'Behold, thy servants are ready to do whatsoever my lord the king shall choose.'

۱۶ 16 پس پادشاه و تمامی اهل خانه‌اش با وی بیرون رفتند، و پادشاه ده زن را که متعه او بودند، برای نگاه داشتن خانه واگذاشت.

And the king went forth, and all his household after him. And the king left ten women, that were concubines, to keep the house.

۱۷ 17 و پادشاه و تمامی قوم با وی بیرون رفته، دربیت مرحق توقف نمودند.

And the king went forth, and all the people after him; and they tarried in Beth-merhak.

۱۸ 18 و تمامی خادمانش پیش او گذشتند و جمیع کریتیان و جمیع فلیتیان و جمیع جتیان، یعنی ششصد نفر که از جت درعقب او آمده بودند، پیش روی پادشاه گذشتند.

And all his servants passed on beside him; and all the Cherethites, and all the Pelethites, and all the Gittites, six hundred men that came after him from Gath, passed on before the king.

۱۹ 19 و پادشاه به اتای جتی گفت: «تو نیز همراه ما چرا می‌آیی؟ برگرد و همراه پادشاه بمان زیراکه تو غریب هستی و از مکان خود نیز جلای وطن کرده‌ای.

Then said the king to Ittai the Gittite: 'Wherefore goest thou also with us? return, and abide with the king; for thou art a foreigner, and also an exile from thine own place.

۲۰ 20 دیروز آمدی. پس آیا امروز تو را همراه ما آواره گردانم و حال آنکه من می‌روم به‌جایی که می‌روم. پس برگرد و برادران خود رابرگردان و رحمت و راستی همراه تو باد.»

Whereas thou camest but yesterday, should I this day make thee go up and down with us, seeing I go whither I may? return thou, and take back thy brethren with thee in kindness and truth.'

۲۱ 21 واتای در جواب پادشاه عرض کرد: «به حیات خداوند و به حیات آقایم پادشاه، قسم که هرجایی که آقایم پادشاه خواه در موت و خواه در زندگی، باشد، بنده تو در آنجا خواهد بود.»

And Ittai answered the king, and said: 'As the LORD liveth, and as my lord the king liveth, surely in what place my lord the king shall be, whether for death or for life, even there also will thy servant be.'

۲۲ 22 و داود به اتای گفت: «بیا و پیش برو.» پس اتای جتی با همه مردمانش و جمیع اطفالی که با اوبودند، پیش رفتند.

And David said to Ittai: 'Go and pass over.' And Ittai the Gittite passed over, and all his men, and all the little ones that were with him.

۲۳ 23 و تمامی اهل زمین به آوازبلند گریه کردند، و جمیع قوم عبور کردند، وپادشاه از نهر قدرون عبور کرد و تمامی قوم به راه بیابان گذشتند.

And all the country wept with a loud voice, as all the people passed over; and as the king passed over the brook Kidron, all the people passed over, toward the way of the wilderness.

۲۴ 24 و اینک صادوق نیز و جمیع لاویان با وی تابوت عهد خدا را برداشتند، و تابوت خدا رانهادند و تا تمامی قوم از شهر بیرون آمدند، ابیاتارقربانی می‌گذرانید.

And, lo, Zadok also came, and all the Levites with him, bearing the ark of the covenant of God; and they set down the ark of God — but Abiathar went up — until all the people had done passing out of the city.

۲۵ 25 و پادشاه به صادوق گفت: «تابوت خدا را به شهر برگردان. پس اگر در نظرخداوند التفات یابم مرا باز خواهد آورد، و آن راو مسکن خود را به من نشان خواهد داد.

And the king said unto Zadok: 'Carry back the ark of God into the city; if I shall find favour in the eyes of the LORD, He will bring me back, and show me both it, and His habitation;

۲۶ 26 و اگرچنین گوید که از تو راضی نیستم، اینک حاضرم هرچه در نظرش پسند آید، به من عمل نماید.»

but if He say thus: I have no delight in thee; behold, here am I, let Him do to me as seemeth good unto Him.'

۲۷ 27 و پادشاه به صادوق کاهن گفت: «آیا تو رایی نیستی؟ پس به شهر به سلامتی برگرد و هر دو پسرشما، یعنی اخیمعص، پسر تو، و یوناتان، پسرابیاتار، همراه شما باشند.

The king said also unto Zadok the priest: 'Seest thou? return into the city in peace, and your two sons with you, Ahimaaz thy son, and Jonathan the son of Abiathar.

۲۸ 28 بدانید که من درکناره های بیابان درنگ خواهم نمود تا پیغامی ازشما رسیده، مرا مخبر سازد.»

See, I will tarry in the plains of the wilderness, until there come word from you to announce unto me.'

۲۹ 29 پس صادوق وابیاتار تابوت خدا را به اورشلیم برگردانیده، درآنجا ماندند.

Zadok therefore and Abiathar carried the ark of God back to Jerusalem; and they abode there.

۳۰ 30 و اما داود به فراز کوه زیتون برآمد و چون می‌رفت، گریه می‌کرد و با سر پوشیده و پای برهنه می‌رفت و تمامی قومی که همراهش بودند، هریک سر خود را پوشانیدند و گریه‌کنان می‌رفتند.

And David went up by the ascent of the mount of Olives, and wept as he went up; and he had his head covered, and went barefoot; and all the people that were with him covered every man his head, and they went up, weeping as they went up.

۳۱ 31 و داود را خبر داده، گفتند: «که اخیتوفل، یکی از فتنه انگیزان، با ابشالوم شده است. و داود گفت: «ای خداوند، مشورت اخیتوفل را حماقت گردان.»

And one told David, saying: 'Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom.' And David said: 'O LORD, I pray Thee, turn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness.'

۳۲ 32 و چون داود به فراز کوه، جایی که خدا راسجده می‌کنند رسید، اینک حوشای ارکی باجامه دریده و خاک بر سر ریخته او را استقبال کرد.

And it came to pass, that when David was come to the top of the ascent, where God was wont to be worshipped, behold, Hushai the Archite came to meet him with his coat rent, and earth upon his head.

۳۳ 33 و داود وی را گفت: «اگر همراه من بیایی برای من بار خواهی شد.

And David said unto him: 'If thou passest on with me, then thou wilt be a burden unto Me;

۳۴ 34 اما اگر به شهربرگردی و به ابشالوم بگویی: ای پادشاه، من بنده تو خواهم بود، چنانکه پیشتر بنده تو بودم، الان بنده تو خواهم بود. آنگاه مشورت اخیتوفل رابرای من باطل خواهی گردانید.

but if thou return to the city, and say unto Absalom: I will be thy servant, O king; as I have been thy father's servant in time past, so will I now be thy servant; then wilt thou defeat for me the counsel of Ahithophel.

۳۵ 35 و آیا صادوق وابیاتار کهنه در آنجا همراه تو نیستند؟ پس هرچیزی را که از خانه پادشاه بشنوی، آن را به صادوق و ابیاتار کهنه اعلام نما.

And hast thou not there with thee Zadok and Abiathar the priests? therefore it shall be, that what thing soever thou shalt hear out of the king's house, thou shalt tell it to Zadok and Abiathar the priests.

۳۶ 36 و اینک دوپسر ایشان اخیمعص، پسر صادوق، و یوناتان، پسر ابیاتار، در آنجا با ایشانند و هر خبری را که می‌شنوید، به‌دست ایشان، نزد من خواهیدفرستاد.»

Behold, they have there with them their two sons, Ahimaaz Zadok's son, and Jonathan Abiathar's son; and by them ye shall send unto me every thing that ye shall hear.'

۳۷ 37 پس حوشای، دوست داود، به شهررفت و ابشالوم وارد اورشلیم شد.

So Hushai David's friend came into the city; and Absalom was at the point of coming into Jerusalem.
