دوم پادشاهان 22

۱ 1 یوشیا هشت ساله بود که پادشاه شد ودر اورشلیم سی و یک سال سلطنت نمود. و اسم مادرش یدیده، دختر عدایه، ازبصقت بود.

Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned thirty-one years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Jedidah the daughter of Adaiah of Bozkath.

۲ 2 و آنچه را که در نظر خداوند پسندبود، به عمل آورد، و به تمامی طریق پدر خود، داود سلوک نموده، به طرف راست یا چپ انحراف نورزید.

He did that which was right in the LORD’s eyes, and walked in all the ways of David his father, and didn’t turn away to the right hand or to the left.

۳ 3 و در سال هجدهم یوشیا پادشاه واقع شد که پادشاه، شافان بن اصلیا بن مشلام کاتب را به خانه خداوند فرستاده، گفت:

In the eighteenth year of King Josiah, the king sent Shaphan, the son of Azaliah the son of Meshullam, the scribe, to the LORD’s house, saying,

۴ 4 «نزد حلقیا رئیس کهنه برو و او نقره‌ای را که به خانه خداوند آورده می‌شود و مستحفظان در، آن را از قوم جمع می‌کنند، بشمارد.

“Go up to Hilkiah the high priest, that he may count the money which is brought into the LORD’s house, which the keepers of the threshold have gathered of the people.

۵ 5 و آن را به‌دست سرکارانی که بر خانه خداوند گماشته شده‌اند، بسپارند تا ایشان آن را به کسانی که در خانه خداوند کار می‌کنند، به جهت تعمیر خرابیهای خانه بدهند،

Let them deliver it into the hand of the workers who have the oversight of the LORD’s house; and let them give it to the workers who are in the LORD’s house, to repair the damage to the house,

۶ 6 یعنی به نجاران و بنایان و معماران، و تا چوبها و سنگهای تراشیده به جهت تعمیر خانه بخرند.»

to the carpenters, and to the builders, and to the masons, and for buying timber and cut stone to repair the house.

۷ 7 امانقره‌ای را که به‌دست ایشان سپردند، حساب نکردند زیرا که به امانت رفتار نمودند.

However, no accounting shall be asked of them for the money delivered into their hand, for they deal faithfully.”

۸ 8 و حلقیا، رئیس کهنه، به شافان کاتب گفت: «کتاب تورات را در خانه خداوند یافته‌ام.» وحلقیا آن کتاب را به شافان داد که آن را خواند.

Hilkiah the high priest said to Shaphan the scribe, “I have found the book of the law in the LORD’s house.” Hilkiah delivered the book to Shaphan, and he read it.

۹ 9 وشافان کاتب نزد پادشاه برگشت و به پادشاه خبرداده، گفت: «بندگانت، نقره‌ای را که در خانه خداوند یافت شد، بیرون آوردند و آن را به‌دست سرکارانی که بر خانه خداوند گماشته بودند، سپردند.»

Shaphan the scribe came to the king, and brought the king word again, and said, “Your servants have emptied out the money that was found in the house, and have delivered it into the hands of the workmen who have the oversight of the LORD’s house.”

۱۰ 10 و شافان کاتب، پادشاه را خبر داده، گفت: «حلقیا، کاهن، کتابی به من داده است.» پس شافان آن را به حضور پادشاه خواند.

Shaphan the scribe told the king, saying, “Hilkiah the priest has delivered a book to me.” Then Shaphan read it before the king.

۱۱ 11 پس چون پادشاه سخنان سفر تورات راشنید، لباس خود را درید.

When the king had heard the words of the book of the law, he tore his clothes.

۱۲ 12 و پادشاه، حلقیای کاهن و اخیقام بن شافان و عکبور بن میکایا وشافان کاتب و عسایا، خادم پادشاه را امر فرموده، گفت:

The king commanded Hilkiah the priest, Ahikam the son of Shaphan, Achbor the son of Micaiah, Shaphan the scribe, and Asaiah the king’s servant, saying,

۱۳ 13 «بروید و از خداوند برای من و برای قوم و برای تمامی یهودا درباره سخنانی که در این کتاب یافت می‌شود، مسالت نمایید، زیرا غضب خداوند که بر ما افروخته شده است، عظیم می‌باشد، از این جهت که پدران ما به سخنان این کتاب گوش ندادند تا موافق هرآنچه درباره مامکتوب است، عمل نمایند.»

“Go enquire of the LORD for me, and for the people, and for all Judah, concerning the words of this book that is found; for great is the LORD’s wrath that is kindled against us, because our fathers have not listened to the words of this book, to do according to all that which is written concerning us.”

۱۴ 14 پس حلقیای کاهن و اخیقام و عکبور وشافان و عسایا نزد حلده نبیه، زن شلام بن تقوه بن حرحس لباس دار، رفتند و او در محله دوم اورشلیم ساکن بود. و با وی سخن‌گفتند.

So Hilkiah the priest, Ahikam, Achbor, Shaphan, and Asaiah went to Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tikvah, the son of Harhas, keeper of the wardrobe (now she lived in Jerusalem in the second quarter); and they talked with her.

۱۵ 15 و او به ایشان گفت: «یهوه، خدای اسرائیل چنین می‌گوید: به کسی‌که شما را نزد من فرستاده است، بگویید:

She said to them, “The LORD the God of Israel says, ‘Tell the man who sent you to me,

۱۶ 16 خداوند چنین می‌گوید: اینک من بلایی بر این مکان و ساکنانش خواهم رسانید، یعنی تمامی سخنان کتاب را که پادشاه یهوداخوانده است،

“The LORD says, ‘Behold, I will bring evil on this place and on its inhabitants, even all the words of the book which the king of Judah has read.

۱۷ 17 چونکه مرا ترک کرده، برای خدایان دیگر بخور‌سوزانیدند تا به تمامی اعمال دستهای خود، خشم مرا به هیجان بیاورند. پس غضب من بر این مکان مشتعل شده، خاموش نخواهد شد.

Because they have forsaken me and have burnt incense to other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all the work of their hands, therefore my wrath shall be kindled against this place, and it will not be quenched.’”

۱۸ 18 لیکن به پادشاه یهودا که شما را به جهت مسالت نمودن از خداوند فرستاده است، چنین بگویید: یهوه، خدای اسرائیل چنین می‌فرماید: درباره سخنانی که شنیده‌ای

But to the king of Judah, who sent you to enquire of the LORD, tell him, “The LORD the God of Israel says, ‘Concerning the words which you have heard,

۱۹ 19 چونکه دل تو نرم بود و هنگامی که کلام مرادرباره این مکان و ساکنانش شنیدی که ویران ومورد لعنت خواهند شد، به حضور خداوندمتواضع شده، لباس خود را دریدی، و به حضورمن گریستی، بنابراین خداوند می‌گوید: من نیز تورا اجابت فرمودم.

because your heart was tender, and you humbled yourself before the LORD when you heard what I spoke against this place and against its inhabitants, that they should become a desolation and a curse, and have torn your clothes and wept before me, I also have heard you,’ says the LORD.

۲۰ 20 لهذا اینک من، تو را نزدپدرانت جمع خواهم کرد و در قبر خود به سلامتی گذارده خواهی شد و تمامی بلا را که من بر این مکان می‌رسانم، چشمانت نخواهد دید.» پس ایشان نزد پادشاه جواب آوردند.

‘Therefore behold, I will gather you to your fathers, and you will be gathered to your grave in peace. Your eyes will not see all the evil which I will bring on this place.’”’” So they brought this message back to the king.
