دوم تواریخ 23

۱ 1 و در سال هفتم، یهویاداع خویشتن راتقویت داده، بعضی از سرداران صده یعنی عزریا ابن یهورام و اسماعیل بن یهوحانان وعزریا ابن عوبید و معسیا ابن عدایا و الیشافاط بن زکری را با خود همداستان ساخت.

And in the seventh year Jehoiada strengthened himself, and took the captains of hundreds, Azariah the son of Jeroham, and Ishmael the son of Jehohanan, and Azariah the son of Obed, and Maaseiah the son of Adaiah, and Elishaphat the son of Zichri, into covenant with him.

۲ 2 و ایشان دریهودا گردش کردند و لاویان را از جمیع شهرهای یهودا و روسای آبای اسرائیل را جمع کرده، به اورشلیم آمدند.

And they went about in Judah, and gathered the Levites out of all the cities of Judah, and the chief of the fathers of Israel, and they came to Jerusalem.

۳ 3 و تمامی جماعت با پادشاه درخانه خدا عهد بستند. و او به ایشان گفت: «هماناپسر پادشاه سلطنت خواهد کرد، چنانکه خداونددرباره پسران داود گفته است.

And all the congregation made a covenant with the king in the house of God. And he said to them, Behold, the king's son shall reign, as the LORD hath said of the sons of David.

۴ 4 و کاری که بایدبکنید این است: یک ثلث از شما که از کاهنان ولاویان در سبت داخل می‌شوید دربانهای آستانه‌ها باشید.

This [is] the thing that ye shall do: A third part of you entering on the sabbath, of the priests, and of the Levites, [shall be] porters of the doors;

۵ 5 و ثلث دیگر به خانه پادشاه وثلثی به دروازه اساس و تمامی قوم در صحنهای خانه خداوند حاضر باشند.

And a third part [shall be] at the king's house; and a third part at the gate of the foundation: and all the people [shall be] in the courts of the house of the LORD.

۶ 6 و کسی غیر ازکاهنان و لاویانی که به خدمت مشغول می‌باشند، داخل خانه خداوند نشود، اما ایشان داخل بشوند زیرا که مقدسند و تمامی قوم (خانه ) خداوند را حراست نمایند.

But let none come into the house of the LORD, save the priests, and they that minister of the Levites; they shall go in, for they [are] holy: but all the people shall keep the watch of the LORD.

۷ 7 و لاویان هرکس سلاح خود را به‌دست گرفته، پادشاه را از هرطرف احاطه نمایند و هر‌که به خانه درآید، کشته شود و چون پادشاه داخل شود یا بیرون رود، شما نزد او بمانید.»

And the Levites shall encompass the king, every man with his weapons in his hand; and whoever [else] cometh into the house, he shall be put to death: but be ye with the king when he cometh in, and when he goeth out.

۸ 8 پس لاویان و تمامی یهودا موافق هر‌چه یهویاداع کاهن امر فرمود عمل نمودند، و هر کدام کسان خود را خواه از آنانی که در روز سبت داخل می‌شدند و خواه از آنانی که در روز سبت بیرون می‌رفتند، برداشتند زیرا که یهویاداع کاهن فرقه هارا مرخص نفرمود.

So the Levites and all Judah did according to all things that Jehoiada the priest had commanded, and took every man his men that were to come in on the sabbath, with them that were to go [out] on the sabbath: for Jehoiada the priest dismissed not the courses.

۹ 9 و یهویاداع کاهن نیزه‌ها ومجنها و سپرها را که از آن داود پادشاه و در خانه خدا بود، به یوزباشیها داد.

Moreover, Jehoiada the priest delivered to the captains of hundreds, spears, and bucklers, and shields, that [had been] king David's, which [were] in the house of God.

۱۰ 10 و تمامی قوم را که هر یک از ایشان سلاح خود را به‌دست گرفته بودند، از طرف راست خانه تا طرف چپ خانه به پهلوی مذبح و خانه، به اطراف پادشاه قرار داد.

And he set all the people, every man having his weapon in his hand, from the right side of the temple to the left side of the temple, along by the altar and the temple, by the king on all sides.

۱۱ 11 و پسر پادشاه را بیرون آورده، تاج را بر سرش گذاشتند و شهادت نامه را به او داده، او را به پادشاهی نصب کردند، و یهویاداع و پسرانش، اورا مسح نموده، گفتند: «پادشاه زنده بماند.»

Then they brought out the king's son, and put upon him the crown, and [gave him] the testimony, and made him king. And Jehoiada and his sons anointed him, and said, God save the king.

۱۲ 12 اما چون عتلیا آواز قوم را که می‌دویدند وپادشاه را مدح می‌کردند شنید، نزد قوم به خانه خداوند داخل شد.

Now when Athaliah heard the noise of the people running and praising the king, she came to the people into the house of the LORD:

۱۳ 13 و دید که اینک پادشاه به پهلوی ستون خود نزد مدخل ایستاده است، وسروران و کرنانوازان نزد پادشاه می‌باشند وتمامی قوم زمین شادی می‌کنند و کرناها رامی نوازند و مغنیان با آلات موسیقی و پیشوایان تسبیح. آنگاه عتلیا لباس خود را دریده، صدا زدکه «خیانت، خیانت!»

And she looked, and behold, the king stood at his pillar at the entrance, and the princes and the trumpets by the king: and all the people of the land rejoiced, and sounded with trumpets, also the singers with instruments of music, and such as taught to sing praise. Then Athaliah rent her clothes, and said, Treason, treason.

۱۴ 14 و یهویاداع کاهن، یوزباشیها را که سرداران فوج بودند امر فرموده، به ایشان گفت: «او را از میان صفها بیرون کنید، وهر‌که از عقب او برود، به شمشیر کشته شود.» زیرا کاهن فرموده بود که او را در خانه خداوندمکشید.

Then Jehoiada the priest brought out the captains of hundreds that were set over the host, and said to them, Have her forth without the ranges: and whoever followeth her, let him be slain with the sword. For the priest said, Slay her not in the house of the LORD.

۱۵ 15 پس او را راه دادند و چون به دهنه دروازه اسبان، نزد خانه پادشاه رسید، او را درآنجا کشتند.

So they laid hands on her; and when she had come to the entrance of the horse gate by the king's house, they slew her there.

۱۶ 16 و یهویاداع در میان خود و تمامی قوم وپادشاه، عهد بست تا قوم خداوند باشند.

And Jehoiada made a covenant between him, and between all the people, and between the king, that they should be the LORD'S people.

۱۷ 17 وتمامی قوم به خانه بعل رفته، آن را منهدم ساختندو مذبح هایش و تماثیلش را شکستند و کاهن بعل متان را روبه‌روی مذبحها کشتند.

Then all the people went to the house of Baal, and broke it down, and broke his altars and his images in pieces, and slew Mattan the priest of Baal before the altars.

۱۸ 18 و یهویاداع باشادمانی و نغمه سرایی برحسب امر داود، وظیفه های خانه خداوند را به‌دست کاهنان ولاویان سپرد، چنانکه داود ایشان را بر خانه خداوند تقسیم کرده بود تا موافق آنچه در تواره موسی مکتوب است، قربانی های سوختنی خداوند را بگذرانند.

Also Jehoiada appointed the offices of the house of the LORD by the hand of the priests the Levites, whom David had distributed in the house of the LORD, to offer the burnt-offerings of the LORD, as [it is] written in the law of Moses, with rejoicing and with singing, [as it was ordained] by David.

۱۹ 19 و دربانان را به دروازه های خانه خداوند قرار داد تا کسی‌که به هر جهتی نجس باشد، داخل نشود.

And he set the porters at the gates of the house of the LORD, that none [who was] unclean in any thing should enter.

۲۰ 20 ویوزباشیها و نجبا و حاکمان قوم و تمامی قوم زمین را برداشت و پادشاه را از خانه خداوند به زیر آورد و او را از دروازه اعلی به خانه پادشاه درآورده، او را بر کرسی سلطنت نشانید.

And he took the captains of hundreds, and the nobles, and the governors of the people, and all the people of the land, and brought down the king from the house of the LORD: and they came through the high gate into the king's house, and set the king upon the throne of the kingdom.

۲۱ 21 وتمامی قوم زمین شادی کردند و شهر آرامی یافت و عتلیا را به شمشیر کشتند.

And all the people of the land rejoiced: and the city was quiet, after they had slain Athaliah with the sword.
