اول پطرس 4

۱ 1 لهذا چون مسیح بحسب جسم برای مازحمت کشید، شما نیز به همان نیت مسلح شوید زیرا آنکه بحسب جسم زحمت کشید، ازگناه بازداشته شده است.

Since, then, Christ suffered in body, arm yourselves with the same resolve as he; for he who has suffered in body has ceased to sin,

۲ 2 تا آنکه بعد از آن مابقی عمر را در جسم نه بحسب شهوات انسانی بلکه موافق اراده خدا بسر برد.

and so will live the rest of his earthly life guided, not by human passions, but by the will of God.

۳ 3 زیرا که عمر گذشته کافی است برای عمل نمودن به خواهش امت‌ها ودر فجور و شهوات و می‌گساری و عیاشی و بزمهاو بت‌پرستیهای حرام رفتار نمودن.

Surely in the past you have spent time enough living as the Gentiles delight to live. For your path has lain among scenes of debauchery, licentiousness, drunkenness, revelry, hard-drinking, and profane idolatry.

۴ 4 و در این متعجب هستند که شما همراه ایشان به سوی همین اسراف اوباشی نمی شتابید و شما را دشنام می‌دهند.

And, because you do not run to the same extremes of profligacy as others, they are astonished, and malign you.

۵ 5 و ایشان حساب خواهند داد بدو که مستعد است تا زندگان و مردگان را داوری نماید.

But they will have to answer for their conduct to him who is ready to judge both the living and the dead.

۶ 6 زیرا که از اینجهت نیز به مردگان بشارت داده شد تا بر ایشان موافق مردم بحسب جسم حکم شود و موافق خدا بحسب روح زیست نمایند.

For that was why the good news was told to the dead also – that, after they have been judged in the body, as people are judged, they might live in the spirit, as God lives.

۷ 7 لکن انتهای همه‌چیز نزدیک است. پس خرداندیش و برای دعا هشیار باشید.

But the end of all things is near. Therefore exercise self-restraint and be calm, so that you may be able to pray.

۸ 8 و اول همه با یکدیگر بشدت محبت نمایید زیرا که محبت کثرت گناهان را می‌پوشاند.

Above all things, let your love for one another be earnest, for ‘Love throws a veil over countless sins.’

۹ 9 و یکدیگر را بدون همهمه مهمانی کنید.

Never grudge hospitality to one another.

۱۰ 10 و هریک بحسب نعمتی که یافته باشد، یکدیگر را در آن خدمت نماید، مثل وکلاء امین فیض گوناگون خدا.

Whatever the gift that each has received, use it in the service of others, as good stewards of the varied bounty of God.

۱۱ 11 اگر کسی سخن گوید، مانند اقوال خدا بگوید و اگر کسی خدمت کند، برحسب توانایی که خدا بدو داده باشد بکند تا در همه‌چیز، خدا بواسطه عیسی مسیح جلال یابد که او را جلال و توانایی تاابدالاباد هست، آمین. (aiōn g165)

When anyone speaks, they should speak as one who is delivering the oracles of God. When anyone is endeavoring to serve others, they should do so in reliance on the strength which God supplies; so that in everything God may be honored through Jesus Christ – to whom be ascribed all honor and might for ever and ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)

۱۲ 12 ‌ای حبیبان، تعجب منمایید از این آتشی که در میان شماست و بجهت امتحان شما می‌آید که گویا چیزی غریب بر شما واقع شده باشد.

Dear friends, do not be astonished at the trial of fire that you are passing through, to test you, as though something strange were happening to you.

۱۳ 13 بلکه بقدری که شریک زحمات مسیح هستید، خشنودشوید تا در هنگام ظهور جلال وی شادی و وجدنمایید.

No, the more you share the sufferings of the Christ, the more may you rejoice, that, when the time comes for the manifestation of his glory, you may rejoice and exult.

۱۴ 14 اگر بخاطر نام مسیح رسوایی می‌کشید، خوشابحال شما زیرا که روح جلال وروح خدا بر شما آرام می‌گیرد.

If you are insulted for bearing the name of Christ, count yourselves blessed; because the divine glory and the Spirit of God are resting on you.

۱۵ 15 پس زنهار هیچ‌یکی از شما چون قاتل یا دزد یا شریر یا فضول عذاب نکشد.

I need hardly say that no one among you must suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or a criminal, or for interfering in matters which do not concern Christians.

۱۶ 16 لکن اگر چون مسیحی عذاب بکشد، پس شرمنده نشود بلکه به این اسم خدا راتمجید نماید.

But, if someone suffers as a Christian, they should not be ashamed of it; they should bring honor to God even though they bear that name.

۱۷ 17 زیرا این زمان است که داوری ازخانه خدا شروع شود؛ و اگر شروع آن از ماست، پس عاقبت کسانی که انجیل خدا را اطاعت نمی کنند چه خواهد شد؟

For the time has come for judgment to begin with the house of God; and, if it begins with us, what will be the end of those who reject God’s good news?

۱۸ 18 و اگر عادل به دشواری نجات یابد، بی‌دین و گناهکار کجا یافت خواهد شد؟

If ‘a good person is saved only with difficulty, what will become of the godless and the sinful?’

۱۹ 19 پس کسانی نیز که برحسب اراده خدا زحمت کشند، جانهای خود را در نیکوکاری به خالق امین بسپارند.

Therefore, I say, let those who suffer, because God wills it so, commit their lives into the hands of a faithful Creator, and persevere in doing right.
