اول پادشاهان 14

۱ 1 در آن زمان ابیا پسر یربعام بیمار شد.

At that time, fell sick, Abijah son of Jeroboam.

۲ 2 و یربعام به زن خود گفت که «الان برخیز و صورت خود را تبدیل نما تا نشناسند که تو زن یربعام هستی، و به شیلوه برو. اینک اخیای نبی که درباره من گفت که براین قوم پادشاه خواهم شد در آنجاست.

Then said Jeroboam to his wife—Arise, I pray thee, and feign thyself another, that it be not known, that, thou, art the wife of Jeroboam, —and thou shalt go thy way to Shiloh, lo! there, is Ahijah the prophet, who promised I should be king over this people;

۳ 3 و در دست خود ده قرص نان وکلیچه‌ها و کوزه عسل گرفته، نزد وی برو و او تورا از آنچه بر طفل واقع می‌شود، خبر‌خواهدداد.»

and thou shall take with thee ten loaves, and cracknels, and a bottle of honey, and shalt go unto him, —he, will tell thee what shall befall the young man.

۴ 4 پس زن یربعام چنین کرده، برخاست و به شیلوه رفته، به خانه اخیا رسید و اخیانمی توانست ببیند زیرا که چشمانش از پیری تارشده بود.

And the wife of Jeroboam, did so, and arose, and went to Shiloh, and entered the house of Ahijah, —now, Ahijah, could not see, for his eyes were fixed, by reason of his old age.

۵ 5 و خداوند به اخیا گفت: «اینک زن یربعام می‌آید تا درباره پسرش که بیمار است، چیزی از تو بپرسد. پس به او چنین و چنان بگو وچون داخل می‌شود به هیات، متنکره خواهدبود.»

But, Yahweh, had said unto Ahijah—Lo! the wife of Jeroboam, coming to enquire something of thee, concerning her son, for he is sick, thus and so, shalt thou speak unto her, —though, when she cometh in, she feign to be a stranger-woman.

۶ 6 و هنگامی که اخیا صدای پایهای او را که به در داخل می‌شد شنید، گفت: «ای زن یربعام داخل شو. چرا هیات خود را متنکر ساخته‌ای؟ زیرا که من باخبر سخت نزد تو فرستاده شده‌ام.

So it came to pass, when Ahijah heard the sound of her feet, as she entered the doorway, that he said—Come in, thou wife of Jeroboam, —wherefore, is it that thou art feigning to be a stranger-woman, seeing that, I, am sent unto thee, with something hard to bear?

۷ 7 برو و به یربعام بگو: یهوه، خدای اسرائیل چنین می‌گوید: چونکه تو را از میان قوم ممتاز نمودم، وتو را بر قوم خود، اسرائیل رئیس ساختم،

Go, say to Jeroboam—Thus, saith Yahweh, God of Israel, Forasmuch as I exalted thee out of the midst of the people, —and gave thee to be leader over my people Israel;

۸ 8 وسلطنت را از خاندان داود دریده، آن را به تو دادم، و تو مثل بنده من، داود نبودی که اوامر مرا نگاه داشته، با تمامی دل خود مرا پیروی می‌نمود، وآنچه در نظر من راست است، معمول می‌داشت وبس.

and rent the kingdom away from the house of David, and gave it to thee, —and yet thou hast not been like my servant David, who kept my commandments, and who followed me, with all his heart, to do only that which was right in mine eyes;

۹ 9 اما تو از همه کسانی که قبل از تو بودندزیاده شرارت ورزیدی و رفته، خدایان غیر وبتهای ریخته شده به جهت خود ساختی و غضب مرا به هیجان آوردی و مرا پشت سر خودانداختی.

but hast made wicked thy doings beyond any who were before thee, —and hast gone and made thee ether gods, even molten images, to provoke me to anger, and hast cast, me, behind thy back,

۱۰ 10 بنابراین اینک من بر خاندان یربعام بلا عارض می‌گردانم و از یربعام هر مرد را و هر محبوس و آزاد را که در اسرائیل باشد، منقطع می‌سازم، و تمامی خاندان یربعام را دور می‌اندازم چنانکه سرگین را بالکل دور می‌اندازند.

therefore, behold me! bringing misfortune against the house of Jeroboam, and I will cut off the meanest pertaining to Jeroboam, whether shut up or left at large, in Israel, —and will consume after the house of Jeroboam, as one consumeth dung, till it be all gone:

۱۱ 11 هرکه از یربعام در شهر بمیرد، سگان بخورند و هرکه درصحرا بمیرد، مرغان هوا بخورند، زیرا خداونداین را گفته است.

Him that dieth of Jeroboam in the city, shall, the dogs, eat, and, him that dieth in the field, shall, the birds of heaven, eat, —For, Yahweh, hath spoken.

۱۲ 12 پس تو برخاسته به خانه خودبرو و به مجرد رسیدن پایهایت به شهر، پسرخواهد مرد.

Thou, therefore, arise, go to thine own house, —as thy feet are entering the city, the young man shall die.

۱۳ 13 و تمامی اسرائیل برای او نوحه نموده، او را دفن خواهند کرد زیرا که او تنها ازنسل یربعام به قبر داخل خواهد شد، به علت اینکه با او چیز نیکو نسبت به یهوه، خدای اسرائیل در خاندان یربعام یافت شده است.

Then shall all Israel lament for him, and bury him, for, this one, pertaining to Jeroboam, shall reach a burying-place, —because there hath been found in him something good toward Yahweh, God of Israel, in the house of Jeroboam.

۱۴ 14 وخداوند امروز پادشاهی بر اسرائیل خواهدبرانگیخت که خاندان یربعام را منقطع خواهدساخت و چه (بگویم ) الان نیز (واقع شده است ).

Therefore will Yahweh raise up for himself a king over Israel, who will cut off the house of Jeroboam, this day, but why, even now?

۱۵ 15 و خداوند اسرائیل را خواهد زد مثل نی‌ای که در آب متحرک شود، و ریشه اسرائیل را از این زمین نیکو که به پدران ایشان داده بود، خواهد کندو ایشان را به آن طرف نهر پراکنده خواهدساخت، زیرا که اشیریم خود را ساخته، خشم خداوند را به هیجان آوردند.

Therefore will Yahweh smite Israel, as a reed shaketh in water, and will root out Israel, from off this goodly soil, which he gave unto their fathers, and will scatter them beyond the River (Euphrates), —because they have made their Sacred Stems, provoking Yahweh to anger:

۱۶ 16 و اسرائیل را به‌سبب گناهانی که یربعام ورزیده، و اسرائیل را به آنها مرتکب گناه ساخته است، تسلیم خواهدنمود.»

That he may deliver up Israel, —on account of the sin of Jeroboam, which he committed, and which he caused, Israel, to commit.

۱۷ 17 پس زن یربعام برخاسته، و روانه شده، به ترصه آمد و به مجرد رسیدنش به آستانه خانه، پسر مرد.

Then arose the wife of Jeroboam, and went her way and entered Tirzah, —as, she, was coming into the entrance hall, the young man died.

۱۸ 18 و تمامی اسرائیل او را دفن کردند وبرایش ماتم گرفتند، موافق کلام خداوند که به واسطه بنده خود، اخیای نبی گفته بود.

And, when they buried him, all Israel lamented him, —according to the word of Yahweh, which he spake through his servant Ahijah the prophet.

۱۹ 19 و بقیه وقایع یربعام که چگونه جنگ کرد و چگونه سلطنت نمود اینک در کتاب تواریخ ایام پادشاهان اسرائیل مکتوب است.

Now, the rest of the story of Jeroboam, how he warred, and how he reigned, behold them! written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.

۲۰ 20 و ایامی که یربعام سلطنت نمود، بیست و دو سال بود. پس باپدران خود خوابید و پسرش ناداب به‌جایش پادشاه شد.

And, the days which Jeroboam reigned, were twenty-two years, —and he slept with his fathers, and, Nadab his son, reigned, in his stead.

۲۱ 21 و رحبعام بن سلیمان در یهودا سلطنت می‌کرد، و رحبعام چون پادشاه شد چهل و یک ساله بود و در اورشلیم، شهری که خداوند از تمام اسباط اسرائیل برگزید تا اسم خود را در آن بگذارد، هفده سال پادشاهی کرد. و اسم مادرش نعمه عمونیه بود.

And, Rehoboam, son of Solomon, reigned in Judah, —forty-one years old, was Rehoboam when he began to reign, and seventeen years, reigned he in Jerusalem, the city which Yahweh had chosen to put his Name there, out of all the tribes of Israel, and, his mother’s name, was Naamah, the Ammonitess.

۲۲ 22 و یهودا در نظر خداوندشرارت ورزیدند، و به گناهانی که کردند، بیشتر ازهر‌آنچه پدران ایشان کرده بودند، غیرت او را به هیجان آوردند.

And Judah did the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, —and provoked him to jealousy, above all that their fathers had done, with their sins which they committed.

۲۳ 23 و ایشان نیز مکانهای بلند وستونها و اشیریم بر هر تل بلند و زیر هر درخت سبز بنا نمودند.

And, they also, built for themselves high places and pillars, and Sacred Stems, —upon every high hill, and under every green tree.

۲۴ 24 و الواط نیز در زمین بودند وموافق رجاسات امتهایی که خداوند از حضوربنی‌اسرائیل اخراج نموده بود، عمل می‌نمودند.

Moreover also, there were, male devotees, in the land, —they did according to all the abominable practices of the nations, which Yahweh dispossessed from before the sons of Israel.

۲۵ 25 و در سال پنجم رحبعام پادشاه واقع شد که شیشق پادشاه مصر به اورشلیم برآمد.

And it came to pass, in the fifth year of King Rehoboam, that Shishak king of Egypt, came up against Jerusalem;

۲۶ 26 وخزانه های خانه خداوند و خزانه های خانه پادشاه را گرفت و همه‌چیز را برداشت و جمیع سپرهای طلایی که سلیمان ساخته بود، برد.

and took away the treasures of the house of Yahweh, and the treasures of the house of the king, yea, the whole, took he away, —and took away all the bucklers of gold, which, Solomon, had made.

۲۷ 27 و رحبعام پادشاه به عوض آنها سپرهای برنجین ساخت وآنها را به‌دست سرداران شاطرانی که در خانه پادشاه را نگاهبانی می‌کردند، سپرد.

So King Rehoboam made, in their stead, bucklers of bronze, —and committed them unto the hand of the captains of the runners, who kept guard at the entrance of the house of the king.

۲۸ 28 و هر وقتی که پادشاه به خانه خداوند داخل می‌شد، شاطران آنها را برمی داشتند و آنها را به حجره شاطران باز می آوردند.

And so it was, whensoever the king went into the house of Yahweh, the runners bare them, and then brought them back into the chamber of the runners.

۲۹ 29 و بقیه وقایع رحبعام و هرچه کرد، آیا درکتاب تواریخ ایام پادشاهان یهودا مکتوب نیست؟

Now, the rest of the story of Rehoboam, and all that he did, are, they, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?

۳۰ 30 و در میان رحبعام و یربعام درتمامی روزهای ایشان جنگ می‌بود.

And there was, war, between Rehoboam and Jeroboam, continually.

۳۱ 31 ورحبعام با پدران خویش خوابید و در شهر داود باپدران خود دفن شد، و اسم مادرش نعمه عمونیه بود و پسرش ابیام در جایش پادشاهی نمود.

So then Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David, and, the name of his mother, was Naamah the Ammonitess, —and, Abijah his son, reigned, in his stead.
