اول پادشاهان 12

۱ 1 و رحبعام به شکیم رفت زیرا که تمامی اسرائیل به شکیم آمدند تا او را پادشاه بسازند.

And Rehoboam went to Shechem: for al Israel were come to Sheche, to make him king

۲ 2 و واقع شد که چون یربعام بن نباط شنید(و او هنوز در مصر بود که از حضور سلیمان پادشاه به آنجا فرار کرده، و یربعام در مصر ساکن می‌بود.

And whe Ieroboam ye sonne of Nebat heard of it (who was yet in Egypt, whither Ieroboam had fled from king Salomon, and dwelt in Egypt)

۳ 3 و ایشان فرستاده، او را خواندند)، آنگاه یربعام و تمامی جماعت اسرائیل آمدند و به رحبعام عرض کرده، گفتند:

Then they sent and called him: and Ieroboam and all the Congregation of Israel came, and spake vnto Rehoboam, saying,

۴ 4 «پدر تو یوغ ما راسخت ساخت اما تو الان بندگی سخت و یوغ سنگینی را که پدرت بر ما نهاد سبک ساز، و تو راخدمت خواهیم نمود.»

Thy father made our yoke grieuous: now therefore make thou the grieuous seruitude of thy father, and his sore yoke which he put vpon vs, lighter, and we will serue thee.

۵ 5 به ایشان گفت: «تا سه روز دیگر بروید و بعد از آن نزد من برگردید.» پس قوم رفتند.

And he said vnto them, Depart yet for three dayes, then come againe to me. And the people departed.

۶ 6 و رحبعام پادشاه با مشایخی که در حین حیات پدرش، سلیمان به حضورش می‌ایستادندمشورت کرده، گفت: «که شما چه صلاح می‌بینیدتا به این قوم جواب دهم؟»

And King Rehoboam tooke counsell with the olde men that had stande before Salomon his father, while he yet liued, and sayde, What counsell giue ye, that I may make an answere to this people?

۷ 7 ایشان او را عرض کرده، گفتند: «اگر امروز این قوم را بنده شوی وایشان را خدمت نموده، جواب دهی و سخنان نیکو به ایشان گویی همانا همیشه اوقات بنده توخواهند بود.»

And they spake vnto him, saying, If thou be a seruant vnto this people this day, and serue them, and answere them, and speake kinde wordes to them, they will be thy seruants for euer.

۸ 8 اما مشورت مشایخ را که به اودادند ترک کرد، و با جوانانی که با او تربیت یافته بودند و به حضورش می‌ایستادند، مشورت کرد.

But he forsooke the counsell that the olde men had giuen him, and asked counsell of the yong men that had bene brought vp with him, and waited on him.

۹ 9 و به ایشان گفت: «شما چه صلاح می‌بینید که به این قوم جواب دهیم؟ که به من عرض کرده، گفته‌اند یوغی را که پدرت بر ما نهاده است، سبک ساز.»

And he said vnto them, What counsell giue ye, that we may answere this people, which haue spoken to me, saying, Make the yoke, which thy father did put vpon vs, lighter?

۱۰ 10 و جوانانی که با او تربیت یافته بودند او راخطاب کرده، گفتند که به این قوم که به تو عرض کرده، گفته‌اند که پدرت یوغ ما را سنگین ساخته است و تو آن را برای ما سبک ساز، به ایشان چنین بگو: انگشت کوچک من از کمر پدرم کلفت تراست.

Then the yong men that were brought vp with him, spake vnto him, saying, Thus shalt thou say vnto this people, that haue spoken vnto thee, and said, Thy father hath made our yoke heauie, but make thou it lighter vnto vs: euen thus shalt thou say vnto them, My least part shalbe bigger then my fathers loynes.

۱۱ 11 و حال پدرم یوغ سنگین بر شما نهاده است اما من یوغ شما را زیاده خواهم گردانید. پدرم شما را به تازیانه‌ها تنبیه می‌نمود اما من شمارا به عقربها تنبیه خواهم نمود.»

Now where as my father did burden you with a grieuous yoke, I will yet make your yoke heauier: my father hath chastised you with rods, but I will correct you with scourges.

۱۲ 12 و در روز سوم، یربعام و تمامی قوم به نزدرحبعام باز آمدند، به نحوی که پادشاه فرموده و گفته بود که در روز سوم نزد من باز آیید.

Then Ieroboam and all the people came to Rehoboam the third day, as the king had appointed, saying, Come to me againe ye thirde day.

۱۳ 13 وپادشاه، قوم را به سختی جواب داد، و مشورت مشایخ را که به وی داده بودند، ترک کرد.

And the king answered the people sharpely, and left the old mens counsell that they gaue him,

۱۴ 14 وموافق مشورت جوانان ایشان را خطاب کرده، گفت: «پدرم یوغ شما را سنگین ساخت، اما من یوغ شما را زیاده خواهم گردانید. پدرم شما را به تازیانه تنبیه می‌نمود اما من شما را به عقربها تنبیه خواهم کرد.»

And spake to them after the counsell of the yong men, saying, My father made your yoke grieuous, and I will make your yoke more grieuous: my father hath chastised you with rods, but I will correct you with scourges.

۱۵ 15 و پادشاه، قوم را اجابت نکردزیرا که این امر از جانب خداوند شده بود تاکلامی را که خداوند به واسطه اخیای شیلونی به یربعام بن نباط گفته بود، ثابت گرداند.

And the King hearkened not vnto the people: for it was the ordinance of the Lord, that he might perfourme his saying, which the Lord had spoken by Ahiiah the Shilonite vnto Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat.

۱۶ 16 و چون تمامی اسرائیل دیدند که پادشاه، ایشان را اجابت نکرد آنگاه قوم، پادشاه را جواب داده، گفتند: «ما را در داود چه حصه است؟ و درپسر یسا چه نصیب؟ ای اسرائیل به خیمه های خود بروید! و اینک‌ای داود به خانه خود متوجه باش!»

So when all Israel sawe that the King regarded them not, the people answered the King thus, saying, What portion haue we in Dauid? we haue none inheritance in the sonne of Ishai. To your tents, O Israel: nowe see to thine owne house, Dauid. So Israel departed vnto their tents.

۱۷ 17 اما رحبعام بر بنی‌اسرائیل که در شهرهای یهودا ساکن بودند، سلطنت می‌نمود.

Howbeit ouer the children of Israel, which dwelt in the cities of Iudah, did Rehoboam reigne still.

۱۸ 18 ورحبعام پادشاه ادورام را که سردار باج گیران بود، فرستاد و تمامی اسرائیل، او را سنگسار کردند که مرد و رحبعام پادشاه تعجیل نموده، بر ارابه خودسوار شد و به اورشلیم فرار کرد.

Nowe the King Rehoboam sent Adoram the receiuer of the tribute, and all Israel stoned him to death: then King Rehoboam made speede to get him vp to his charet, to flee to Ierusalem.

۱۹ 19 پس اسرائیل تا به امروز بر خاندان داود عاصی شدند.

And Israel rebelled against the house of Dauid vnto this day.

۲۰ 20 و چون تمامی اسرائیل شنیدند که یربعام مراجعت کرده است، ایشان فرستاده، او را نزدجماعت طلبیدند و او را بر تمام اسرائیل پادشاه ساختند، و غیر از سبط یهودا فقط، کسی خاندان داود را پیروی نکرد.

And when all Israel had heard that Ieroboam was come againe, they sent and called him vnto the assemblie, and made him King ouer all Israel: none followed the house of Dauid, but the tribe of Iudah onely.

۲۱ 21 و چون رحبعام به اورشلیم رسید، تمامی خاندان یهودا و سبط بنیامین، یعنی صد و هشتادهزار نفر برگزیده جنگ آزموده را جمع کرد تا باخاندان اسرائیل مقاتله نموده، سلطنت را به رحبعام بن سلیمان برگرداند.

And when Rehoboam was come to Ierusalem, he gathered all the house of Iudah with the tribe of Beniamin an hundreth and foure score thousand of chosen men (which were good warriours) to fight against the house of Israel, and to bring the kingdome againe to Rehoboam the sonne of Salomon.

۲۲ 22 اما کلام خدا برشمعیا، مرد خدا نازل شده، گفت:

But the worde of God came vnto Shemaiah the man of God, saying,

۲۳ 23 «به رحبعام بن سلیمان، پادشاه یهودا و به تمامی خاندان یهوداو بنیامین و به بقیه قوم خطاب کرده، بگو:

Speake vnto Rehoboam the sonne of Salomon King of Iudah, and vnto all the house of Iudah and Beniamin, and the remnant of the people, saying,

۲۴ 24 خداوند چنین می‌گوید: مروید و با برادران خود بنی‌اسرائیل جنگ منمایید، هر کس به خانه خود برگردد زیرا که این امر از جانب من شده است.» و ایشان کلام خداوند را شنیدند وبرگشته، موافق فرمان خداوند رفتار نمودند.

Thus saith the Lord, Ye shall not go vp, nor fight against your brethren the children of Israel: returne euery man to his house: for this thing is done by me. They obeyed therefore the worde of the Lord and returned, and departed, according to the worde of the Lord.

۲۵ 25 و یربعام شکیم را در کوهستان افرایم بناکرده، در آن ساکن شد و از آنجا بیرون رفته، فنوئیل را بنا نمود.

Then Ieroboam built Shechem in mount Ephraim, and dwelt therein, and went from thence, and built Penuel.

۲۶ 26 و یربعام در دل خود فکرکرد که حال سلطنت به خاندان داود خواهدبرگشت.

And Ieroboam thought in his heart, Nowe shall the kingdome returne to the house of Dauid.

۲۷ 27 اگر این قوم به جهت گذرانیدن قربانی‌ها به خانه خداوند به اورشلیم بروند همانادل این قوم به آقای خویش، رحبعام، پادشاه یهودا خواهد برگشت و مرا به قتل رسانیده، نزدرحبعام، پادشاه یهودا خواهند برگشت.

If this people goe vp and doe sacrifice in the house of the Lord at Ierusalem, then shall the heart of this people turne againe vnto their lorde, euen to Rehoboam King of Iudah: so shall they kill me and goe againe to Rehoboam King of Iudah.

۲۸ 28 پس پادشاه مشورت نموده، دو گوساله طلا ساخت وبه ایشان گفت: «برای شما رفتن تا به اورشلیم زحمت است، هان‌ای اسرائیل خدایان تو که تو رااز زمین مصر برآوردند!»

Whereupon the King tooke counsell, and made two calues of golde, and saide vnto them, It is too much for you to goe vp to Ierusalem: beholde, O Israel, thy gods, which brought thee vp out of the lande of Egypt.

۲۹ 29 و یکی را در بیت ئیل گذاشت و دیگری را در دان قرار داد.

And he set the one in Beth-el, and the other set he in Dan.

۳۰ 30 و این امرباعث گناه شد و قوم پیش آن یک تا دان می‌رفتند.

And this thing turned to sinne: for the people went (because of the one) euen to Dan.

۳۱ 31 و خانه‌ها در مکانهای بلند ساخت و از تمامی قوم که از بنی لاوی نبودند، کاهنان تعیین نمود.

Also he made an house of hie places, and made Priestes of the lowest of the people, which were not of the sonnes of Leui.

۳۲ 32 و یربعام عیدی در ماه هشتم در روز پانزدهم ماه مثل عیدی که در یهوداست برپا کرد و نزد آن مذبح می‌رفت و در بیت ئیل به همان طور عمل نموده، برای گوساله هایی که ساخته بود، قربانی می‌گذرانید. و کاهنان مکانهای بلند را که ساخته بود، در بیت ئیل قرار داد.

And Ieroboam made a feast the fifteenth day of the eight moneth, like vnto the feast that is in Iudah, and offred on the altar. So did he in Beth-el and offered vnto the calues that he had made: and he placed in Beth-el the Priestes of the hie places, which he had made.

۳۳ 33 و در روز پانزدهم ماه هشتم، یعنی در ماهی که از دل خود ابداع نموده بود، نزد مذبح که در بیت ئیل ساخته بود می‌رفت، و برای بنی‌اسرائیل عید برپا نموده، نزد مذبح برآمده، بخور می‌سوزانید.

And he offered vpon the altar, which he had made in Beth-el, the fifteenth day of the eight moneth, (euen in the moneth which he had forged of his owne heart) and made a solemne feast vnto the children of Israel: and he went vp to the altar, to burne incense.
