[The first person God created was Adam]. Adam’s [son was] Seth. [Seth’s son was] Enosh. [Enosh’s son was] Kenan.

[Kenan’s son was] Mahalalel. [Mahalalel’s son was] Jared. [Jared’s son was] Enoch.
| خَنُوخ مَتُوشالَح لَمَک، | ۳ 3 |
[Enoch’s son was] Methuselah. [Methusalah’s son was] Lamech. [Lamech’s son was] Noah.
| نُوح سام حام يافَث. | ۴ 4 |
[Noah’s sons were] Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
| پسران يافَث: جُومَر و ماجُوج و ماداي و ياوان و ماشَک و تيراس. | ۵ 5 |
The sons (OR, descendants) of Japheth were Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras.
| وپسران جُومَر: اَشکَناز و ريفات و تُجَرمَه. | ۶ 6 |
The sons (OR, descendants) of Gomer were Ashkenaz, Riphath, and Togarmah.
| و پسران ياوان: اَلِيشَه و تَرشِيش و کتيم و دُودانِيم. | ۷ 7 |
The descendants of Javan were Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim, and Rodanim.
| و پسران حام: کوش و مِصرايم و فُوت و کَنعان. | ۸ 8 |
The sons of Ham were Cush, Mizraim (OR, Egypt), Put, and Canaan.
| و پسران کوش: سَبا و حَويلَه و سبتا و رَعما و سَبتَکا. و پسران رَعما: شَبا و دَدان. | ۹ 9 |
The descendants of Cush were Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, and Sabteca. The sons (OR, descendants) of Raamah were Sheba and Dedan.
| و کوش، نِمرود را آورد، و او به جبار شدن در جهان شروع نمود. | ۱۰ 10 |
Another descendant of Cush was Nimrod. When he grew up, he became a mighty warrior on the earth.
| و مِصرايم، لُوديم و عَنَاميم و لَهابيم و نَفتُوحيم را آورد، | ۱۱ 11 |
Mizraim (OR, Egypt) was the ancestor of the Lud people-group, the Anam people-group, the Lehab people-group, the Naphtuh people-group,
| و فَتروسيم و کَسلُوحيم را که فَلَستيم و کَفتوريم از ايشان پديد آمدند. | ۱۲ 12 |
the Pathrus people-group, the Casluh people-group, and the Caphtor people-group. The people of [the] Philistia [region] were descended from the Casluh people-group.
| و کَنعان نُخست زاده خود، صيدون و حِتّ را آورد، | ۱۳ 13 |
Canaan’s first son was Sidon. He was also the ancestor of the Heth people-group,
| و يبُوسي و اَمُوري و جَرجاشي، | ۱۴ 14 |
the Jebus people-group, the Amor people-group, the Girgash people-group,
| و حِوّي و عِرقي و سِيني، | ۱۵ 15 |
the Hiv people-group, the Ark people-group, the Sin people-group,
| و اروادي و صَماري و حَماتي را. | ۱۶ 16 |
the Arvad people-group, the Zemar people-group, and the Hamath people-group.
| پسران سام: عيلام و آشُّور و اَرفَکشاد و لُود واَرام و عُوص و حُول و جاتَر و ماشَک. | ۱۷ 17 |
The sons of Shem were Elam, Asshur, Arphaxad, Lud, and Aram. Aram’s sons were Uz, Hul, Gether, and Meshech.
| و اَرفَکشاد، شالَح را آورد و شالَح، عابَر را آورد. | ۱۸ 18 |
Arphaxad was the father of Shelah, who was the father of Eber.
| و براي عابَر، دو پسر متولد شدند که يکي را فالَج نام بود زيرا در ايام وي زمين منقسم شد و اسم برادرش يقطان بود. | ۱۹ 19 |
Eber had two sons. One was named Peleg [which sounds like the word that means ‘divided’] because during the time that he lived, [the people on] the earth were divided [into various language groups]. Peleg’s [younger] brother was Joktan.

Joktan was the ancestor of Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah,
| و هَدُورام و اُوزال و دِقلَه، | ۲۱ 21 |
Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah,
| و اِيبال و اَبيمايل و شَبا، | ۲۲ 22 |
Obal, Abimael, Sheba,
| و اُوفير و حَويلَه و يوباب را که جميع اينها پسران يقطان بودند. | ۲۳ 23 |
Ophir, Havilah, and Jobab.
| سام، اَرفَکشاد سالَح، | ۲۴ 24 |
The descendants of Shem, [in order from him to Abraham], were Arphaxad, Shelah,
| عابَر فالَج رَعُو، | ۲۵ 25 |
Eber, Peleg, Reu,
| سَروج ناحُور تارَح، | ۲۶ 26 |
Serug, Nahor, Terah,
| اَبرام که همان ابراهيم باشد. | ۲۷ 27 |
and Abram, whose [name was later changed to] Abraham.
| پسران ابراهيم: اسحاق واسماعيل. | ۲۸ 28 |
Abraham’s sons were Isaac and Ishmael.
| اين است پيداش ايشان: نخستزاده اسماعيل: نَبايوت و قيدار و اَدَبئيل و مِبسام، | ۲۹ 29 |
[The son of Abraham’s slave wife Hagar was Ishmael.] Ishmael’s [twelve] sons were Nebaioth, Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam,
| و مِشماع و دُومَه و مَسّا و حَدَد و تيما، | ۳۰ 30 |
Mishma, Dumah, Massa, Hadad, Tema,
| و يطُور و نافيش و قِدمَه که اينان پسران اسماعيل بودند. | ۳۱ 31 |
Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah.
| و پسران قَطُورَه که مُتعه ابراهيم بود، پس او زِمران و يقشان و مَدان و مِديان و يشباق و شُوحا را زاييد و پسران يقشان: شَبا و دَدان بودند. | ۳۲ 32 |
[After]’s [wife Sarah died, he took another wife named] Keturah. The sons of Abraham and Keturah were Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, and Shuah. Jokshan’s sons were Sheba and Dedan.
| و پسران مِديان عِيفَه و عِيفَرو خَنُوح و اَبيداع و اَلدَعَه بودند. پس جميع اينها پسران قَطُورَه بودند. | ۳۳ 33 |
Midian’s sons were Ephah, Epher, Hanoch, Abida, and Eldaah.
| و ابراهيم اسحاق را آورد؛ و پسران اسحاق عِيسُو واسرائيل بودند. | ۳۴ 34 |
The son of Abraham [and his wife Sarah] was Isaac, and Isaac’s sons were Esau and [Jacob, whose name was later changed to] Israel.
| و پسران عِيسُو: اَليفاز و رَعُوئيل و يعُوش و يعلام وقُورَح. | ۳۵ 35 |
The sons of Esau were Eliphaz, Reuel, Jeush, Jalam, and Korah.
| پسران اَليفاز: تيمان و اُومار و صَفي و جَعتام و قَناز و تِمناع و عَماليق. | ۳۶ 36 |
The sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho (OR, Zephi), Gatam, Kenaz, Timna, and Amalek.
| پسران رَعُوئيل: نَحَت و زارَح و شَمَّه و مِزَّه. | ۳۷ 37 |
Reuel’s sons were Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah.
| و پسران سَعِير: لُوطان و شُوبال و صِبعون و عَنَه و ديشُون و اِيصر ودِيشان. | ۳۸ 38 |
[Another descendant of Esau was Seir. His descendants lived in the Edom region]. Seir’s sons were Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah, Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan.
| و پسران لُوطان: حوري و هُومام و خواهر لُوطان تِمناع. | ۳۹ 39 |
Lotan’s sons were Hori and Homam, and Lotan’s sister was Timna.
| پسران شُوبال: عَليان ومَنَاحَت وعِيبال وشَفي واُونام و پسران صِبعُون: اَيه و عَنَه. | ۴۰ 40 |
Shobal’s sons were Alvan, Manahath, Ebal, Shepho, and Onam. Zibeon’s sons were Aiah and Anah.
| و پسران عَنَه: ديشون وپسران ديشون: حَمران و اِشبان و يتران و کَران. | ۴۱ 41 |
Anah’s son was Dishon. 1 Dishon’s sons were Hemdan (OR, Hamran), Eshban, Ithran, and Keran.
| پسران ايصر: بِلهان و زَعوان و يعقان وپسران ديشان: عُوص و اَران. | ۴۲ 42 |
Ezer’s sons were Bilhan, Zaavan, and Akan (OR, Jaakan). Dishan’s sons were Uz and Aran.
| و پادشاهاني که در زمين اَدُوم سلطنت نمودند، پيش از آنکه پادشاهي بر بني اسرائيل سلطنت کند، اينانند: بالَع بن بَعُور و اسم شهر او دِنهابِه بود. | ۴۳ 43 |
[These are the names of] the kings that ruled [the] Edom [region] before any kings ruled over Israel: Bela, the son of Beor, was king in Edom, and the name of the city [in which he lived] was Dinhabah.
| و بالَع مُرد و يوباب بن زارَح از بُصرَه به جايش پادشاه شد. | ۴۴ 44 |
When Bela died, Jobab, the son of Zerah from Bozrah [city], became the king.
| و يوباب مرد و حوشام از زمين تيماني به جايش سلطنت نمود. | ۴۵ 45 |
When Jobab died, Husham became the king. He was from the region where the Teman people-group lived.
| و حُوشام مُرد وهَدَد بن بَدَد که مِديان را در زمين موآب شکست داد در جايش پادشاه شد و اسم شهرش عَوِيت بود. | ۴۶ 46 |
When Husham died, Hadad, the son of Bedad, became the king. He [ruled in] Avith city. Hadad’s [army] defeated [the army of the] Midian [people-group] in [the] Moab [region].
| و هَدَد مُرد و سَملَه از مَسريقَه به جايش پادشاه شد. | ۴۷ 47 |
When Hadad died, Samlah became the king. He was from Masrekah [town].
| و سَملَه مُرد و شاؤل از رَحُوبوت نهر به جايش پادشاه شد. | ۴۸ 48 |
When Samlah died, Shaul became the king. He was from Rehoboth [city] along the [Euphrates] river.
| و شاؤل مُرد و بَعل حانان بن عَکبور به جايش پادشاه شد. | ۴۹ 49 |
When Shaul died, Baal-Hanan, the son of Achbor, became the king.
| و بَعل حانان مُرد وهَدَد به جايش پادشاه شد؛ و اسم شهرش فاعي و اسم زنش مَهِيطَبئيل دختر مَطرِد دختر مَي ذَهَب بود. | ۵۰ 50 |
When Baal-Hanan died, Hadad became the king. He was from Pau city. His wife’s name was Mehetabel; she was the daughter of Matred and the granddaughter of Me-Zahab.
| وهَدَد مُرد و اَميرانِ اَدوُم امير تِمناع وامير اَليه و امير يتِيت بودند. | ۵۱ 51 |
Then Hadad died. The leaders of the clans of the Edom people-group were Timna, Alvah, Jetheth,
| و اَمير اَهولِيبَامَه و امير اِيلَه و امير فِينُون؛ | ۵۲ 52 |
Oholibamah, Elah, Pinon,
| وامير قَناز و اميرِتيمان وامير مِبصار؛ | ۵۳ 53 |
Kenaz, Teman, Mibzar,
| وامير مَجدِيئيل وامير عيرام؛ اينان اميران اَدُوم بودند. | ۵۴ 54 |
Magdiel, and Iram.
