ਜ਼ਬੂਰ 18
1 ੧ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਵਜਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੇ ਲਈ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਦਾਸ ਦਾਊਦ ਦਾ ਗੀਤ, ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਗਾਏ ਜਦੋਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਦੇ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਬਚਾਇਆ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ: ਹੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਮੇਰੇ ਬਲ, ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
To the chief Musician, [A Psalm] of David, the servant of the LORD, who spake unto the LORD the words of this song in the day [that] the LORD delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul: And he said, I will love thee, O LORD, my strength.
2 ੨ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਮੇਰੀ ਚੱਟਾਨ, ਮੇਰਾ ਗੜ੍ਹ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਛੁਡਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਮੇਰੀ ਚੱਟਾਨ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੈਂ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ, ਮੇਰੀ ਢਾਲ਼, ਮੇਰੇ ਬਚਾਓ ਦਾ ਸਿੰਗ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਉੱਚਾ ਗੜ੍ਹ ਹੈ।
The LORD [is] my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, [and] my high tower.
I will call upon the LORD, [who is worthy] to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.
The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid.
The sorrows of hell compassed me about: the snares of death prevented me. (Sheol h7585)
6 ੬ ਆਪਣੀ ਔਖ ਦੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਪੁਕਾਰਿਆ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਦੁਹਾਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਹੈਕਲ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਮੇਰੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਸੁਣੀ, ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਦੁਹਾਈ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ, ਸਗੋਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕੰਨਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਪਹੁੰਚੀ।
In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, [even] into his ears.
7 ੭ ਤਦ ਧਰਤੀ ਕੰਬ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਥਰ-ਥਰਾਈ, ਅਤੇ ਪਹਾੜਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਨੀਹਾਂ ਹਿੱਲ ਗਈਆਂ, ਅਤੇ ਧੜਕ ਉੱਠੀਆਂ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ!
Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations also of the hills moved and were shaken, because he was wroth.
8 ੮ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਨਾਸਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਧੂੰਆਂ ਉੱਠਿਆ, ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਤੋਂ ਅੱਗ ਭਸਮ ਕਰਦੀ ਸੀ, ਅੰਗਿਆਰੇ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਦਗ-ਦਗ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗੇ।
There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.
He bowed the heavens also, and came down: and darkness [was] under his feet.
And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: yea, he did fly upon the wings of the wind.
11 ੧੧ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਗੁਪਤ ਸਥਾਨ, ਬੱਦਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਇਕੱਠ ਅਤੇ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਦੀਆਂ ਘਟਾਂਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦਾ ਮੰਡਪ ਬਣਾਇਆ।
He made darkness his secret place; his pavilion round about him [were] dark waters [and] thick clouds of the skies.
At the brightness [that was] before him his thick clouds passed, hail [stones] and coals of fire.
The LORD also thundered in the heavens, and the Highest gave his voice; hail [stones] and coals of fire.
14 ੧੪ ਫੇਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਤੀਰ ਚਲਾ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਿੱਤਰ-ਬਿੱਤਰ ਕੀਤਾ, ਅਤੇ ਬਿਜਲੀਆਂ ਲਿਸ਼ਕਾ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਘਬਰਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
Yea, he sent out his arrows, and scattered them; and he shot out lightnings, and discomfited them.
15 ੧੫ ਤਾਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਬਕੇ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ, ਹੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਤੇਰੀਆਂ ਨਾਸਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਸ ਦੇ ਝੋਕੇ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਸਮੁੰਦਰਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਤਹ ਦਿੱਸ ਪਈਆਂ, ਅਤੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੀਆਂ ਨੀਹਾਂ ਖੁੱਲ੍ਹ ਗਈਆਂ।
Then the channels of waters were seen, and the foundations of the world were discovered at thy rebuke, O LORD, at the blast of the breath of thy nostrils.
He sent from above, he took me, he drew me out of many waters.
17 ੧੭ ਮੇਰੇ ਬਲਵੰਤ ਵੈਰੀ ਤੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਛੁਡਾਇਆ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮੈਥੋਂ ਘਿਣ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਓਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਤਕੜੇ ਸਨ।
He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them which hated me: for they were too strong for me.
They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the LORD was my stay.
He brought me forth also into a large place; he delivered me, because he delighted in me.
20 ੨੦ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਬਦਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਮੇਰੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੁੱਚਮਤਾਈ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵੱਟਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ,
The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.
For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed from my God.
For all his judgments [were] before me, and I did not put away his statutes from me.
I was also upright before him, and I kept myself from mine iniquity.
24 ੨੪ ਸੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ, ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁੱਧਤਾ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵੱਟਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
Therefore hath the LORD recompensed me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in his eyesight.
With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful; with an upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright;
With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself froward.
For thou wilt save the afflicted people; but wilt bring down high looks.
For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness.
29 ੨੯ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਹੱਲਾ ਬੋਲ ਸਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਪਨਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਟੱਪ ਸਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall.
[As for] God, his way [is] perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he [is] a buckler to all those that trust in him.
For who [is] God save the LORD? or who [is] a rock save our God?
[It is] God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect.
33 ੩੩ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਰਨੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਜਿਹੇ ਬਣਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਚਿਆਂ ਥਾਂਵਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
He maketh my feet like hinds’ [feet], and setteth me upon my high places.
34 ੩੪ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰਨਾ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਿਖਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਬਾਹਾਂ ਪਿੱਤਲ ਦਾ ਧਣੁੱਖ ਝੁਕਾ ਦਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
He teacheth my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.
35 ੩੫ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਚਾਓ ਦੀ ਢਾਲ਼ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਸੱਜੇ ਹੱਥ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੰਭਾਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਨਰਮਾਈ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵਡਿਆਇਆ ਹੈ।
Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy right hand hath holden me up, and thy gentleness hath made me great.
Thou hast enlarged my steps under me, that my feet did not slip.
37 ੩੭ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਪਿੱਛਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾ ਲਿਆ, ਮੈਂ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਨਾ ਹਟਿਆ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਚਿਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਨਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।
I have pursued mine enemies, and overtaken them: neither did I turn again till they were consumed.
I have wounded them that they were not able to rise: they are fallen under my feet.
For thou hast girded me with strength unto the battle: thou hast subdued under me those that rose up against me.
Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies; that I might destroy them that hate me.
41 ੪੧ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੁਹਾਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਪਰ ਕੋਈ ਬਚਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ, ਸਗੋਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੱਲ ਵੀ, ਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਤਰ ਨਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
They cried, but [there was] none to save [them: even] unto the LORD, but he answered them not.
42 ੪੨ ਫੇਰ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਵਾ ਨਾਲ ਉੱਡਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਪੀਹ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ, ਰਸਤੇ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਕੜ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁੱਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
Then did I beat them small as the dust before the wind: I did cast them out as the dirt in the streets.
43 ੪੩ ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਝਗੜਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਛੁਡਾਇਆ, ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਮੁਖੀਆ ਨਿਯੁਕਤ ਕੀਤਾ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕੀਤੀ।
Thou hast delivered me from the strivings of the people; [and] thou hast made me the head of the heathen: a people [whom] I have not known shall serve me.
As soon as they hear of me, they shall obey me: the strangers shall submit themselves unto me.
The strangers shall fade away, and be afraid out of their close places.
The LORD liveth; and blessed [be] my rock; and let the God of my salvation be exalted.
[It is] God that avengeth me, and subdueth the people under me.
48 ੪੮ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਛੁਡਾਇਆ, ਹਾਂ, ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿਰੋਧੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਉੱਚਾ ਕੀਤਾ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਜ਼ਾਲਮਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਇਆ।
He delivereth me from mine enemies: yea, thou liftest me up above those that rise up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man.
Therefore will I give thanks unto thee, O LORD, among the heathen, and sing praises unto thy name.
50 ੫੦ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਠਹਿਰਾਏ ਹੋਏ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਡੀ ਜਿੱਤ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਸਹ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਉੱਤੇ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਦਾਊਦ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਅੰਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਤੱਕ ਦਯਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Great deliverance giveth he to his king; and sheweth mercy to his anointed, to David, and to his seed for evermore.
