ਅੱਯੂਬ 29

1 ੧ ਅੱਯੂਬ ਨੇ ਤਰਕ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ,

So Iob proceeded and continued his parable, saying,

2 ੨ “ਕਾਸ਼ ਕਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਾਲਾਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਚੀਨ ਮਹੀਨਿਆਂ ਜਿਹੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਦ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਮੇਰੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ,

Oh that I were as in times past, when God preserued me!

3 ੩ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਦੀਵਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਿਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਲੋ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ, ਜਦ ਮੈਂ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਚਾਨਣ ਨਾਲ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੱਲਦਾ ਸੀ,

When his light shined vpon mine head: and when by his light I walked thorowe the darkenesse,

4 ੪ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਵਾਫ਼ਰੀ ਦੇ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ, ਜਦ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਮਿੱਤਰਤਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਤੰਬੂ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੀ ਸੀ,

As I was in the dayes of my youth: when Gods prouidence was vpon my tabernacle:

5 ੫ ਜਦ ਸਰਬ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਮਾਨ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਅਜੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਸੀ, ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਬਾਲ ਬੱਚੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਸਨ,

When the almightie was yet with me, and my children round about me.

6 ੬ ਤਦ ਮੇਰੇ ਕਦਮ ਦਹੀਂ ਨਾਲ ਧੋਤੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ, ਅਤੇ ਚੱਟਾਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਤੇਲ ਦੀਆਂ ਧਾਰਾਂ ਵਗਾਉਂਦੀ ਸੀ।

When I washed my pathes with butter, and when the rocke powred me out riuers of oyle:

7 ੭ “ਜਦ ਮੈਂ ਨਗਰ ਦੇ ਫਾਟਕ ਕੋਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ, ਜਦ ਮੈਂ ਚੌਂਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੀ ਚੌਂਕੀ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ,

When I went out to the gate, euen to the iudgement seat, and when I caused them to prepare my seate in the streete.

8 ੮ ਤਦ ਜੁਆਨ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਹਟ ਜਾਂਦੇ, ਅਤੇ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਉੱਠ ਖੜ੍ਹੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਸਨ।

The yong men saw me, and hid themselues, and the aged arose, and stood vp.

9 ੯ ਹਾਕਮ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਨੋਂ ਰੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਸਨ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥ ਮੂੰਹ ਉੱਤੇ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਸਨ।

The princes stayed talke, and layde their hand on their mouth.

10 ੧੦ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਬੰਦ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਜੀਭ ਤਾਲੂ ਨਾਲ ਲੱਗ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਸੀ।

The voyce of princes was hidde, and their tongue cleaued to the roofe of their mouth.

11 ੧੧ ਜੋ ਕੋਈ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਧੰਨ ਆਖਦਾ ਸੀ, ਅਤੇ ਜਦ ਕੋਈ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਤਦ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿਖੇ ਉਹ ਸਾਖੀ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ,

And when the eare heard me, it blessed me: and when the eye sawe me, it gaue witnesse to me.

12 ੧੨ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਮਸਕੀਨ ਨੂੰ ਛੁਡਾਉਂਦਾ ਸੀ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਦੁਹਾਈ ਦਿੰਦਾ, ਅਤੇ ਯਤੀਮ ਨੂੰ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਸਹਾਇਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ।

For I deliuered the poore that cryed, and the fatherlesse, and him that had none to helpe him.

13 ੧੩ ਨਾਸ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਵੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਬਰਕਤ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ, ਅਤੇ ਵਿਧਵਾ ਦਾ ਦਿਲ ਮੇਰੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਜੈਕਾਰਾ ਗਜਾਉਂਦਾ ਸੀ।

The blessing of him that was ready to perish, came vpon me, and I caused the widowes heart to reioyce.

14 ੧੪ ਮੈਂ ਧਰਮ ਨੂੰ ਪਹਿਨ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਮੇਰਾ ਲਿਬਾਸ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ, ਮੇਰਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਚੋਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਪਗੜੀ ਜਿਹਾ ਸੀ,

I put on iustice, and it couered me: my iudgement was as a robe, and a crowne.

15 ੧੫ ਮੈਂ ਅੰਨ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਲਈ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਸੀ, ਅਤੇ ਲੰਗੜਿਆਂ ਲਈ ਪੈਰ ਠਹਿਰਦਾ ਸੀ,

I was the eyes to the blinde, and I was the feete to the lame.

16 ੧੬ ਮੈਂ ਕੰਗਾਲਾਂ ਲਈ ਪਿਤਾ ਸੀ, ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਨਾਵਾਕਿਫ਼ ਦੇ ਮੁਕੱਦਮੇ ਦੀ ਵੀ ਪੜਤਾਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ

I was a father vnto the poore, and when I knewe not the cause, I sought it out diligently.

17 ੧੭ ਮੈਂ ਬੁਰਿਆਰ ਦੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਦੰਦ ਭੰਨ ਸੁੱਟਦਾ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਦੰਦਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਰ ਖੋਹ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਸੀ।

I brake also the chawes of the vnrighteous man, and pluckt the praye out of his teeth.

18 ੧੮ “ਤਦ ਮੈਂ ਸੋਚਦਾ ਸੀ, ਮੇਰੇ ਦਿਨ ਰੇਤ ਦੇ ਕਣਾਂ ਜਿੰਨੇ ਅਣਗਿਣਤ ਹੋਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਸੇਬੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਰਾਂਗਾ।

Then I sayde, I shall die in my nest, and I shall multiplie my dayes as the sand.

19 ੧੯ ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਜੜ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਾਣੀ ਤੱਕ ਫੈਲਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਤ੍ਰੇਲ ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਟਹਿਣੀਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਰਾਤ ਭਰ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।

For my roote is spread out by the water, and the dewe shall lye vpon my branche.

20 ੨੦ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਰਤਾਪ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹੇਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਧਣੁੱਖ ਮੇਰੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਦਾ ਨਵਾਂ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹੇਗਾ।

My glory shall renue towarde me, and my bowe shall be restored in mine hand.

21 ੨੧ “ਲੋਕ ਮੇਰੀ ਸੁਣਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਉਡੀਕ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ, ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਸਲਾਹ ਲਈ ਚੁੱਪ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ।

Vnto me men gaue eare, and wayted, and helde their tongue at my counsell.

22 ੨੨ ਮੇਰੇ ਬੋਲਣ ਦੇ ਮਗਰੋਂ ਉਹ ਫੇਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਬੋਲਦੇ ਸਨ, ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਮੀਂਹ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਰ੍ਹਦੀਆਂ ਸਨ।

After my wordes they replied not, and my talke dropped vpon them.

23 ੨੩ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੀ ਉਡੀਕ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਵਰਖਾ ਦੀ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਖੋਲ੍ਹਦੇ ਸਨ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਆਖਰੀ ਮੀਂਹ ਲਈ

And they wayted for me, as for the raine, and they opened their mouth as for the latter rayne.

24 ੨੪ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਬੇਆਸ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਸਕਰਾ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਚਾਨਣ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਬਹੁਮੁੱਲਾ ਸੀ।

If I laughed on them, they beleeued it not: neither did they cause the light of my countenance to fall.

25 ੨੫ ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਰਾਹ ਚੁਣਦਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੁੱਖ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਬਹਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ, ਅਤੇ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਫੌਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਾਜਾ, ਉਸ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਸੋਗੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਸੱਲੀ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।”

I appoynted out their way, and did sit as chiefe, and dwelt as a King in the army, and like him that comforteth the mourners.
