ਉਤਪਤ 12
1 ੧ ਤਦ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਅਬਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੇਸ਼, ਆਪਣੇ ਸੰਬੰਧੀਆਂ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੇਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਚੱਲਿਆ ਜਾ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਵਿਖਾਵਾਂਗਾ।
Forsothe the Lord seide to Abram, Go thou out of thi lond, and of thi kynrede, and of the hous of thi fadir, and come thou in to the lond which Y schal schewe to thee;
2 ੨ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਵੱਡੀ ਕੌਮ ਬਣਾਵਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਅਸੀਸ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਵੱਡਾ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਬਰਕਤ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਨ ਹੋਵੇਂਗਾ।
and Y schal make thee in to a greet folk, and Y schal blisse thee, and Y schal magnyfie thi name, and thou schalt be blessid;
3 ੩ ਜੋ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਅਸੀਸ ਦੇਣ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਅਸੀਸ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸਰਾਪ ਦੇਣ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਸਰਾਪ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਬਰਕਤ ਪਾਉਣਗੀਆਂ।
Y schal blesse hem that blessen thee, and Y schal curse hem that cursen thee; and alle kynredis of erthe schulen be blessid in thee.
4 ੪ ਸੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਅਬਰਾਮ ਚੱਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਲੂਤ ਵੀ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਚੱਲਿਆ। ਜਦੋਂ ਅਬਰਾਮ ਹਾਰਾਨ ਦੇਸ਼ ਤੋਂ ਨਿੱਕਲਿਆ, ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਉਹ ਪੰਝੱਤਰ ਸਾਲ ਦਾ ਸੀ।
And so Abram yede out, as the Lord comaundide hym, and Loth yede with hym. Abram was of `thre scoor yeer and fiftene whanne he yede out of Aran.
5 ੫ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਅਬਰਾਮ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਸਾਰਈ, ਆਪਣੇ ਭਤੀਜੇ ਲੂਤ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਸਾਰੇ ਧਨ ਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਹਾਰਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ, ਲੈ ਕੇ ਕਨਾਨ ਦੇਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣ ਲਈ ਨਿੱਕਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਕਨਾਨ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਆ ਗਏ।
And he took Saray, his wijf, and Loth, the sone of his brother, and al the substaunce which thei hadden in possessioun, and the men whiche thei hadden bigete in Aran; and thei yeden out that thei `schulen go in to the loond of Chanaan. And whanne they camen in to it,
6 ੬ ਅਬਰਾਮ ਉਸ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਲੰਘਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਸ਼ਕਮ ਨੂੰ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਮੋਰਹ ਦੇ ਬਲੂਤ ਹਨ, ਪਹੁੰਚ ਗਿਆ। ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਉੱਥੇ ਕਨਾਨੀ ਲੋਕ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ।
Abram passide thorou the lond til to the place of Sichem, and til to the noble valey. Forsothe Chananei was thanne in the lond.
7 ੭ ਤਦ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਅਬਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਸ਼ਣ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਇਹ ਦੇਸ਼ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਅੰਸ ਨੂੰ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ। ਤਦ ਅਬਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਉੱਥੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਜਗਵੇਦੀ ਬਣਾਈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਸ਼ਣ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ।
Sotheli the Lord apperide to Abram, and seide to hym, Y schal yyue this lond to thi seed. And Abram bildide there an auter to the Lord, that apperide to hym.
8 ੮ ਤਦ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਪਰਬਤ ਨੂੰ ਆਇਆ ਜੋ ਬੈਤਏਲ ਤੋਂ ਪੂਰਬ ਵੱਲ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਉੱਥੇ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਤੰਬੂ ਲਾਇਆ। ਜਿੱਥੋਂ ਪੱਛਮ ਵੱਲ ਬੈਤਏਲ ਅਤੇ ਪੂਰਬ ਵੱਲ ਅਈ ਹੈ, ਉੱਥੇ ਵੀ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਜਗਵੇਦੀ ਬਣਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਪੁਕਾਰਿਆ।
And fro thennus he passide forth to the hil Bethel, that was ayens the eest, and settide there his tabernacle, hauynge Bethel fro the west, and Hay fro the eest. And he bildide also there an auter to the Lord, and inwardli clepide his name.
And Abram yede goynge and goynge forth ouer to the south.
10 ੧੦ ਫੇਰ ਉਸ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਲ ਪੈ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਅਬਰਾਮ ਪਰਦੇਸੀ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਮਿਸਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿਣ ਲਈ ਗਿਆ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਸ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਿਅੰਕਰ ਕਾਲ ਪਿਆ ਸੀ।
Sotheli hungur was maad in the lond; and Abram yede doun in to Egipt, to be a pilgrime ther, for hungur hadde maistrie in the lond.
11 ੧੧ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਮਿਸਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹੁੰਚਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਸਾਰਈ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਵੇਖ ਮੈਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਹੈਂ,
And whanne he was nyy to entre in to Egipt, he seide to Saray, his wijf, Y knowe that thou art a fair womman,
12 ੧੨ ਜਦ ਮਿਸਰੀ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਣਗੇ ਤਦ ਉਹ ਕਹਿਣਗੇ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਹ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਸੁੱਟਣਗੇ ਪਰ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਜੀਉਂਦੀ ਰੱਖ ਲੈਣਗੇ।
and that whanne Egipcians schulen se thee, thei schulen seie, it is his wijf, and thei schulen sle me, and `schulen reserue thee.
Therfor, Y biseche thee, seie thou, that thou art my sistir, that it be wel to me for thee, and that my lijf lyue for loue of thee.
And so whanne Abram hadde entrid in to Egipt, Egipcians sien the womman that sche was ful fair; and the prynces telden to Farao, and preiseden hir anentis him;
15 ੧੫ ਤਦ ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਦੇ ਹਾਕਮਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ, ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਕੀਤੀ, ਤਦ ਉਹ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਈ ਗਈ।
and the womman was takun vp in to the hous of Farao.
16 ੧੬ ਤਦ ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਨੇ ਅਬਰਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਭਲਿਆਈ ਕੀਤੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਇੱਜੜ, ਗਾਈਆਂ-ਬਲ਼ਦ, ਗਧੇ-ਗਧੀਆਂ, ਦਾਸ-ਦਾਸੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਊਠ ਹੋ ਗਏ।
Forsothe thei vsiden wel Abram for hir; and scheep, and oxun, and assis, and seruauntis, and seruauntessis, and sche assis, and camels weren to hym.
Forsothe the Lord beet Farao and his hous with moste veniaunces, for Saray, the wijf of Abram.
18 ੧੮ ਤਦ ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਨੇ ਅਬਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾ ਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਇਹ ਕੀ ਕੀਤਾ? ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਤੇਰੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਹੈ?।
And Farao clepide Abram, and seide to hym, What is it that thou hast do to me? whi schewidist thou not to me, that sche was thi wijf?
19 ੧੯ ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਮੇਰੀ ਭੈਣ ਹੈ? ਤਦ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਲਿਆ। ਹੁਣ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਅਤੇ ਜਾ।
for what cause seidist thou, that sche was thi sister, that Y schulde take hir in to wife to me? Now therfor lo! thi wiif; take thou hir, and go.
20 ੨੦ ਤਦ ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਵਿਖੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਤਦ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਅਬਰਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸੀ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਤੋਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
And Farao comaundide to men on Abram, and thei ledden forth hym, and his wijf, and alle thingis that he hadde.
