ଗୀତସଂହିତା 123

1 ଆରୋହଣ ଗୀତ। ହେ ସ୍ୱର୍ଗୋପବିଷ୍ଟ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ, ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭଆଡ଼େ ଊର୍ଦ୍ଧ୍ୱଦୃଷ୍ଟି କରେ।

A song of ascents. I Lift up my eyes to you, who are throned in the heavens.

2 ଦେଖ, ଯେପରି ଦାସମାନଙ୍କ ଚକ୍ଷୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କ କର୍ତ୍ତାର ହସ୍ତକୁ ଓ ଦାସୀର ଚକ୍ଷୁ ଆପଣା କର୍ତ୍ତ୍ରୀର ହସ୍ତକୁ ଅନାଏ; ସେପରି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଦୟା କରିବା ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଚକ୍ଷୁ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଅନାଇଥାଏ।

As the eyes of a servant turn to the hand of his master, or the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress, so do our eyes turn to the Lord our God, until he is gracious to us.

3 ହେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୋ, ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଦୟା କର, ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଦୟା କର; କାରଣ ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଅବଜ୍ଞାରେ ଅତିଶୟ ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ହୋଇଅଛୁ।

Be gracious, be gracious to us, Lord. Scorn enough, and more, have we borne

4 ସୁଖଶାଳୀମାନଙ୍କ ଉପହାସରେ ଓ ଅହଙ୍କାରୀମାନଙ୍କ ଅବଜ୍ଞାରେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରାଣ ଅତିଶୟ ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ହୋଇଅଛି।

More than enough have we borne of derision from those at their ease, of scorn from those who are haughty.
