ଲୂକ 13
1 ସେହି ସମୟରେ କେତେକ ଲୋକ ଆସି, ପୀଲାତ ଯେଉଁ ଗାଲିଲୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ରକ୍ତ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ବଳି ସହିତ ମିଶାଇଥିଲେ, ସେମାନଙ୍କ ବିଷୟରେ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କୁ ଜଣାଇଲେ।
Just at that time some people had come to tell Jesus about the Galileans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with the blood of their sacrifices.
2 ସେଥିରେ ସେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଲେ, “ଏହାସବୁ ଭୋଗ କରିବାରୁ ଏହି ଗାଲିଲୀୟମାନେ ଅନ୍ୟ ସମସ୍ତ ଗାଲିଲୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ଅପେକ୍ଷା ଅଧିକ ପାପୀ ବୋଲି କି ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ମନେ କରୁଅଛ?
‘Do you suppose,’ replied Jesus, ‘that, because these Galileans have suffered in this way, they were worse sinners than any other Galileans?
3 ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ କହୁଅଛି, ନା, କିନ୍ତୁ ମନ-ପରିବର୍ତ୍ତନ ନ କଲେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସମସ୍ତେ ସେହି ପ୍ରକାରେ ବିନଷ୍ଟ ହେବ।
No, I tell you; but, unless you repent, you will all perish as they did.
4 କିମ୍ବା ଶୀଲୋହରେ ସେହି ଯେଉଁ ଅଠର ଜଣଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ପ୍ରହରୀ-ଗୃହ ପଡ଼ି ସେମାନଙ୍କର ପ୍ରାଣନାଶ କଲା, ସେମାନେ ସମସ୍ତ ଯିରୂଶାଲମବାସୀଙ୍କ ଅପେକ୍ଷା ଅଧିକ ଅପରାଧୀ ବୋଲି କି ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ମନେ କରୁଅଛ?
Or those eighteen men at Siloam on whom the tower fell, killing them all, do you suppose that they were worse offenders than any other inhabitants of Jerusalem?
5 ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ କହୁଅଛି, ନା, କିନ୍ତୁ ମନ-ପରିବର୍ତ୍ତନ ନ କଲେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସମସ୍ତେ ସେହିପରି ବିନଷ୍ଟ ହେବ।”
No, I tell you; but, unless you repent, you will all perish in the same manner.’
6 ଆଉ, ସେ ଏହି ଦୃଷ୍ଟାନ୍ତ କହିଲେ, “ଜଣକର ଦ୍ରାକ୍ଷାକ୍ଷେତ୍ରରେ ଗୋଟିଏ ଡିମ୍ବିରିବୃକ୍ଷ ଲଗାଯାଇଥିଲା। ସେ ଆସି ସେଥିରେ ଫଳ ଖୋଜିଲେ, କିନ୍ତୁ ପାଇଲେ ନାହିଁ।
And Jesus told them this parable – ‘A man, who had a fig tree growing in his vineyard, came to look for fruit on it, but could not find any.
7 ତେଣୁ ସେ ମାଳୀକୁ କହିଲେ, ଦେଖ, ଏହି ତିନି ବର୍ଷ ହେଲା ମୁଁ ଆସି ଏହି ଡିମ୍ବିରିବୃକ୍ଷରେ ଫଳ ଖୋଜୁଅଛି, କିନ୍ତୁ ପାଉ ନାହିଁ; ଏହାକୁ ହାଣିପକାଅ, ଏଇଟା କାହିଁକି ଭୂମିକୁ ମଧ୍ୟ ନଷ୍ଟ କରୁଅଛି?
So he said to his gardener “Three years now I have come to look for fruit on this fig tree, without finding any! Cut it down. Why should it rob the soil?”
8 ମାତ୍ର ସେ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଲା, ‘ପ୍ରଭୁ, ଏହାକୁ ଏହି ବର୍ଷଟି ମଧ୍ୟ ଛାଡ଼ିଦିଅନ୍ତୁ, ମୁଁ ଇତିମଧ୍ୟରେ ଏହାର ଚାରିପାଖ ଖୋଳି ଖତ ଦେବି,
“Leave it this one year more, Sir,” the man answered, “until I have dug round it and manured it.
9 ଆଉ ପରେ ଫଳ ହୁଏତ ଭଲ, ନୋହିଲେ ତାହାକୁ ହାଣିପକାଇବେ।’”
Then, if it bears in future, well and good; but if not, you can have it cut down.”’
10 ଥରେ ସେ ବିଶ୍ରାମବାର ଦିନରେ ଗୋଟିଏ ସମାଜଗୃହରେ ଶିକ୍ଷା ଦେଉଥିଲେ।
Jesus was teaching on a Sabbath in one of the synagogues,
11 ଆଉ ଦେଖ, ଅଠର ବର୍ଷ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଦୁର୍ବଳକାରୀ ଆତ୍ମା ଦ୍ୱାରା ଆବିଷ୍ଟ ଜଣେ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀଲୋକ ସେଠାରେ ଥିଲା, ସେ କୁବ୍ଜା ହୋଇ କୌଣସି ପ୍ରକାରେ ଆପଣାକୁ ସିଧା କରିପାରୁ ନ ଥିଲା।
and he saw before him a woman who for eighteen years had suffered from weakness owing to her having an evil spirit in her. She was bent double, and was wholly unable to raise herself.
12 ଯୀଶୁ ତାହାକୁ ଦେଖି ପାଖକୁ ଡାକି କହିଲେ, “ହେ ନାରୀ, ତୁମ୍ଭର ଦୁର୍ବଳତାରୁ ମୁକ୍ତ ହେଲ।”
When Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said, ‘Woman, you are released from your weakness.’
13 ଆଉ, ସେ ତାହା ଉପରେ ହାତ ରଖିଲେ, ସେଥିରେ ସେ ସେହିକ୍ଷଣି ସଳଖ ହୋଇ ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ମହିମା କୀର୍ତ୍ତନ କରିବାକୁ ଲାଗିଲା।
He placed his hands on her, and she was instantly made straight, and began to praise God.
14 କିନ୍ତୁ ଯୀଶୁ ବିଶ୍ରାମବାର ଦିନରେ ସୁସ୍ଥ କରିବାରୁ ସମାଜଗୃହର ଅଧ୍ୟକ୍ଷ ବିରକ୍ତ ହୋଇ ଲୋକସମୂହକୁ ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଲେ, କର୍ମ କରିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ଛଅ ଦିନ ଅଛି, ଏଣୁ ସେହିସବୁ ଦିନରେ ଆସି ସୁସ୍ଥ ହୁଅ, ବିଶ୍ରାମବାର ଦିନରେ ଆସ ନାହିଁ।
But the synagogue leader, indignant that Jesus had worked the cure on the Sabbath, intervened and said to the people, ‘There are six days on which work ought to be done; come to be cured on one of those, and not on the Sabbath.’
15 କିନ୍ତୁ ପ୍ରଭୁ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଲେ, “ରେ କପଟୀମାନେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକେ କଅଣ ବିଶ୍ରାମବାର ଦିନରେ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ବଳଦ କିମ୍ବା ଗଧ ଗୁହାଳରୁ ଫିଟାଇ ନେଇ ପାଣି ପିଆଅ ନାହିଁ?
‘You hypocrites!’ the Master answered him. ‘Does not everyone of you let your ox or your donkey loose from its manger, and take it out to drink, on the Sabbath?
16 ତେବେ ଦେଖ, ଅଠର ବର୍ଷ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଶୟତାନ ଦ୍ୱାରା ବନ୍ଧା ହୋଇଥିବା ଅବ୍ରହାମଙ୍କ କନ୍ୟା ଏହି ସ୍ତ୍ରୀଲୋକଟି କଅଣ ବିଶ୍ରାମବାର ଦିନରେ ଆପଣା ବନ୍ଧନରୁ ମୁକ୍ତ ହେବା ଆବଶ୍ୟକ ନ ଥିଲା?”
But this woman, a daughter of Abraham, who has been kept in bondage by Satan for now eighteen years, ought not she to have been released from her bondage on the Sabbath?’
17 ଆଉ, ସେ ଏହି କଥାସବୁ କହନ୍ତେ, ତାହାଙ୍କ ବିପକ୍ଷ ସମସ୍ତେ ଲଜ୍ଜିତ ହେବାକୁ ଲାଗିଲେ, ମାତ୍ର ଲୋକମାନେ ଯୀଶୁ କରିଥିବା ସମସ୍ତ ମହତ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ ସକାଶେ ଆନନ୍ଦ କରିବାକୁ ଲାଗିଲେ।
As he said this, his opponents all felt ashamed; but all the people rejoiced to see all the wonderful things that he was doing.
18 ସେଥିରେ ସେ କହିଲେ, “ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ରାଜ୍ୟ କାହା ପରି? ପୁଣି, କାହା ସହିତ ମୁଁ ତାହାର ତୁଳନା କରିବି?
So Jesus said, ‘What is the kingdom of God like? And to what can I liken it?
19 ତାହା ଏପ୍ରକାର ଗୋଟିଏ ସୋରିଷ ଦାନା ପରି, ଯାହା ନେଇ ଜଣେ ଲୋକ ଆପଣା ବଗିଚାରେ ବୁଣିଲା, ଆଉ ତାହା ବଢ଼ି ଗଛ ହେଲା, ପୁଣି, ଆକାଶର ଚଢ଼େଇମାନେ ଆସି ତାହାର ଡାଳରେ ବାସ କଲେ।”
It is like a mustard seed which a man took and put in his garden. The seed grew and became a tree, and the wild birds roosted in its branches.’
20 ସେ ଆହୁରି କହିଲେ, “ମୁଁ କାହା ସହିତ ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ରାଜ୍ୟର ତୁଳନା କରିବି?
And again Jesus said, ‘To what can I liken the kingdom of God?
21 ତାହା ଖମୀର ପରି, ଜଣେ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ତାହା ଘେନି ମହଣେ ମଇଦା ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଘୋଡ଼ାଇ ରଖିଲା, ଆଉ ଶେଷରେ ସମସ୍ତ ଖମୀରମୟ ହେଲା।”
It is like some yeast which a woman took and covered in three pecks of flour, until the whole had risen.’
22 ଏହାପରେ ସେ ନଗରେ ନଗରେ ଓ ଗ୍ରାମେ ଗ୍ରାମେ ଭ୍ରମଣ କରି ଶିକ୍ଷା ଦେଉ ଦେଉ ଯିରୂଶାଲମ ଆଡ଼କୁ ଯାତ୍ରା କରୁଥିଲେ।
Jesus went through towns and villages, teaching as he went, and making his way towards Jerusalem.
23 ଆଉ, ଜଣେ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ପ୍ରଭୁ, ପରିତ୍ରାଣ ପାଇବା ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ସଂଖ୍ୟା କଅଣ ଅଳ୍ପ? ସେଥିରେ ସେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ,
‘Master,’ someone asked, ‘are there but few in the path of salvation?’ And Jesus answered,
24 “ସଂକୀର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଦ୍ୱାର ଦେଇ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରିବାକୁ ପ୍ରାଣପଣ କର, କାରଣ ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ କହୁଅଛି, ଅନେକ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ଚେଷ୍ଟା କରିବେ, କିନ୍ତୁ ପାରିବେ ନାହିଁ।
‘Strive to go in by the narrow door. Many, I tell you, will seek to go in, but they will not be able,
25 ଘରର ମୁଖ୍ୟ ଲୋକ ଉଠି ଦ୍ୱାର ବନ୍ଦ କଲା ପରେ ଯେତେବେଳେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ବାହାରେ ଠିଆ ହୋଇ ରହିବ ଓ ‘ହେ ପ୍ରଭୁ, ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଦ୍ୱାର ଫିଟାନ୍ତୁ,’ ଏହା କହି ଦ୍ୱାରରେ ମାରିବାକୁ ଲାଗିବ, ସେତେବେଳେ ସେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଉତ୍ତର ଦେବେ, ‘ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କେଉଁ ସ୍ଥାନର ଲୋକ, ତାହା ମୁଁ ଜାଣେ ନାହିଁ।’
when once the master of the house has got up and shut the door, while you begin to say, as you stand outside and knock, “Sir, open the door for us.” His answer will be – “I do not know where you come from.”
26 ସେହି ସମୟରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କହିବାକୁ ଲାଗିବ, ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ସାକ୍ଷାତରେ ଭୋଜନପାନ କଲୁ, ପୁଣି, ଆପଣ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଦାଣ୍ଡମାନଙ୍କରେ ଶିକ୍ଷା ଦେଲେ;
Then you will begin to say “We have eaten and drunk in your presence, and you have taught in our streets,” and his reply will be –
27 ଆଉ, ସେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିବେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କେଉଁ ସ୍ଥାନର ଲୋକ, ତାହା ମୁଁ ଜାଣେ ନାହିଁ; ହେ ଅଧର୍ମାଚାରୀ ସମସ୍ତେ ମୋʼ ପାଖରୁ ଦୂର ହୁଅ।
“I do not know where you come from. Leave my presence, all you who are living in wickedness.”
28 ଯେତେବେଳେ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଅବ୍ରହାମ, ଇସ୍ହାକ, ଯାକୁବ ପୁଣି, ସମସ୍ତ ଭାବବାଦୀଙ୍କୁ ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ରାଜ୍ୟରେ ଥିବା ଓ ଆପଣା ଆପଣାକୁ ବାହାରେ ପକାଉଥିବା ଦେଖିବ, ସେତେବେଳେ ସେଠାରେ ରୋଦନ ଓ ଦାନ୍ତର କିଡ଼ିମିଡ଼ି ହେବ।
There, there will be weeping and grinding of teeth, when you see Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, while you yourselves are being driven outside.
29 ପୁଣି, ପୂର୍ବ ଓ ପଶ୍ଚିମ, ଉତ୍ତର ଓ ଦକ୍ଷିଣରୁ ଲୋକେ ଆସି ଈଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ରାଜ୍ୟରେ ଭୋଜନରେ ବସିବେ।
People will come from East and West, and from North and South, and take their places at the banquet in the kingdom of God.
30 ଆଉ ଦେଖ, ଶେଷରେ ଥିବା କେତେକ ପ୍ରଥମ ହେବେ ଓ ପ୍ରଥମରେ ଥିବା କେତେକ ଶେଷରେ ପଡ଼ିବେ।”
There are some who are last now who will then be first, and some who are first now who will then be last!’
31 ସେହି ଦଣ୍ଡରେ କେତେକ ଫାରୂଶୀ ତାହାଙ୍କ ପାଖକୁ ଆସି କହିଲେ, ଏ ସ୍ଥାନ ଛାଡ଼ି ବାହାରି ଯାଉନ୍ତୁ, କାରଣ ହେରୋଦ ଆପଣଙ୍କୁ ମାରିବା ପାଇଁ ଇଚ୍ଛା କରୁଅଛନ୍ତି।
Just then some Pharisees came up to Jesus and said, ‘Go away and leave this place, for Herod wants to kill you.’
32 ସେଥିରେ ସେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯାଇ ସେହି କୋକିଶିଆଳିକି କୁହ, ‘ଦେଖ, ମୁଁ ଆଜି ଓ କାଲି ଭୂତ ଛଡ଼ାଉଅଛି ଓ ସୁସ୍ଥ କରୁଅଛି, ପୁଣି, ତୃତୀୟ ଦିନରେ ମୁଁ ସିଦ୍ଧ ହେବି।’
But Jesus answered, ‘Go and say to that fox “Look you, I am driving out demons and will be completing cures today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will have done.”
33 ଯାହା ହେଉ, ଆଜି, କାଲି ଓ ପଅର ଦିନ ମୋତେ ଯାତ୍ରା କରିବାକୁ ହେବ, କାରଣ ଯିରୂଶାଲମ ସହରର ବାହାରେ ଭାବବାଦୀର ନିହତ ହେବା ଉଚିତ୍ ନୁହେଁ।”
But today and tomorrow and the day after I must go on my way, because it cannot be that a prophet should meet his end outside Jerusalem.
34 “ଗୋ ଯିରୂଶାଲମ, ଗୋ ଯିରୂଶାଲମ, ଭାବବାଦୀମାନଙ୍କ ହତ୍ୟାକାରିଣୀ ଓ ଆପଣା ନିକଟକୁ ପ୍ରେରିତମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରସ୍ତରାଘାତକାରିଣୀ, କୁକ୍କୁଟୀ ଯେପରି ପକ୍ଷ ତଳେ ଆପଣା ଶାବକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଏକତ୍ର କରେ, ସେହିପରି ମୁଁ କେତେ ଥର ତୋହର ସନ୍ତାନମାନଙ୍କୁ ଏକତ୍ର କରିବାକୁ ଇଚ୍ଛା କଲି, କିନ୍ତୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଇଚ୍ଛୁକ ହେଲ ନାହିଁ।
Jerusalem! Jerusalem! You who slays the prophets and stones the messengers sent to you – Oh, how often have I wished to gather your children round me, as a hen takes her brood under her wings, and you would not come!
35 ଦେଖ, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଘର ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ହାତରେ ଛାଡ଼ି ଦିଆଯାଉଅଛି; ଆଉ, ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ କହୁଅଛି, ‘ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ନାମରେ ଯେ ଆସୁଅଛନ୍ତି, ସେ ଧନ୍ୟ,’ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯେଉଁ ଦିନ ଏହି କଥା କହିବ, ସେହି ଦିନ ନ ଆସିବା ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ମୋତେ ନିଶ୍ଚୟ ଆଉ ଦେଖିବ ନାହିଁ।”
Verily your house is left to you desolate! And never, I tell you, will you see me, until you say – “Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord.”’
