ଯିହିଜିକଲ ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦବକ୍ତାଙ୍କ ପୁସ୍ତକ 33
1 ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ବାକ୍ୟ ମୋʼ ନିକଟରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହେଲା, ଯଥା;
And the word of Jehovah came to me, saying,
2 “ହେ ମନୁଷ୍ୟ-ସନ୍ତାନ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆପଣା ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କର ସନ୍ତାନଗଣକୁ କୁହ ଓ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ କୁହ, ଆମ୍ଭେ କୌଣସି ଦେଶ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଖଡ୍ଗ ଆଣିଲେ, ସେ ଦେଶର ଲୋକମାନେ ଯଦି ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ କୌଣସି ଏକ ବ୍ୟକ୍ତିକୁ ନେଇ ତାହାକୁ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କର ପ୍ରହରୀ କରି ନିଯୁକ୍ତ କରନ୍ତି;
Son of man, speak to the sons of thy people, and say to them, When I bring the sword upon a land, and the people of the land take a man from among them, and set him for their watchman,
3 ସେହି ବ୍ୟକ୍ତି ଦେଶ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଖଡ୍ଗ ଆସିବାର ଦେଖିଲେ, ଯଦି ତୂରୀ ବଜାଏ ଓ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ସଚେତନ କରାଏ;
if, when he sees the sword come upon the land, he blows the trumpet, and warns the people,
4 ତେବେ ଯେକେହି ତହିଁରେ ତୂରୀର ଶବ୍ଦ ଶୁଣି ସଚେତନ ନ ହୁଏ, ପୁଣି, ଖଡ୍ଗ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହୋଇ ତାହାକୁ ସଂହାର କରେ, ତେବେ ତାହାର ରକ୍ତ ତାହାର ନିଜ ମସ୍ତକରେ ବର୍ତ୍ତିବ।
then whoever hears the sound of the trumpet, and takes no warning, if the sword comes, and takes him away, his blood shall be upon his own head.
5 ସେ ତୂରୀର ଶବ୍ଦ ଶୁଣି ସଚେତନ ହେଲା ନାହିଁ; ତାହାର ରକ୍ତ ତାହାରି ଉପରେ ବର୍ତ୍ତିବ; ଯେହେତୁ ସେ ସଚେତନ ହୋଇଥିଲେ, ଆପଣା ପ୍ରାଣ ବଞ୍ଚାଇ ଥାʼନ୍ତା।
He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took no warning; his blood shall be upon him. Whereas if he had taken warning, he would have delivered his soul.
6 ମାତ୍ର ସେ ପ୍ରହରୀ ଯଦି ଖଡ୍ଗ ଆସିବାର ଦେଖି ତୂରୀ ନ ବଜାଏ, ପୁଣି, ଲୋକମାନେ ସଚେତନ ନ ହୁଅନ୍ତି, ଆଉ ଖଡ୍ଗ ଆସି ସେମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ କୌଣସି ଲୋକକୁ ସଂହାର କରେ; ତେବେ ସେ ନିଜ ଅଧର୍ମରେ ସଂହାରିତ ହେଲା, ମାତ୍ର ଆମ୍ଭେ ତାହାର ରକ୍ତର ପରିଶୋଧ ସେହି ପ୍ରହରୀର ହସ୍ତରୁ ନେବା।
But if the watchman sees the sword come, and does not blow the trumpet, and the people are not warned, and the sword comes, and takes any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity, but I will require his blood at the watchman's hand.
7 ଏହିରୂପେ ହେ ମନୁଷ୍ୟ-ସନ୍ତାନ, ଆମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ବଂଶର ପ୍ରହରୀ କରି ନିଯୁକ୍ତ କରିଅଛୁ; ଏହେତୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆମ୍ଭ ମୁଖରୁ ବାକ୍ୟ ଶୁଣି ଆମ୍ଭ ପକ୍ଷରୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ସଚେତନ କର।
So thou, son of man, I have set thee a watchman to the house of Israel. Therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.
8 ଆମ୍ଭେ ଯେତେବେଳେ ଦୁଷ୍ଟକୁ କହୁ, ‘ହେ ଦୁଷ୍ଟ ଲୋକ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ନିଶ୍ଚୟ ମରିବ,’ ସେତେବେଳେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ତାହାର ପଥ ବିଷୟରେ ସେହି ଦୁଷ୍ଟ ଲୋକକୁ ସଚେତନ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ଯଦି କିଛି ନ କୁହ; ତେବେ ସେହି ଦୁଷ୍ଟ ନିଜ ଅଧର୍ମରେ ମରିବ; ମାତ୍ର ଆମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭ ହସ୍ତରୁ ତାହାର ରକ୍ତର ପରିଶୋଧ ନେବା।
When I say to the wicked man, O wicked man, thou shall surely die, and thou do not speak to warn the wicked man from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity, but I will require his blood at thy hand.
9 ତଥାପି ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସେହି ଦୁଷ୍ଟକୁ ତାହାର ପଥରୁ ଫେରିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ତଦ୍ବିଷୟରେ ସଚେତନ କଲେ, ଯଦି ସେ ନ ଫେରେ, ତେବେ ସେ ନିଜ ଅଧର୍ମରେ ମରିବ, ମାତ୍ର ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆପଣା ପ୍ରାଣ ବଞ୍ଚାଇବ।
Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked man of his way to turn from it, and he does not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity, but thou have delivered thy soul.
10 ଆଉ, ହେ ମନୁଷ୍ୟ-ସନ୍ତାନ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ବଂଶକୁ କୁହ; ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଏପ୍ରକାର କହୁଅଛ, ‘ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ଆଜ୍ଞାଲଙ୍ଘନ ଓ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ପାପର ଭାର ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ଅଛି ଓ ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ତହିଁରେ ହିଁ କ୍ଷୟ ପାଉଅଛୁ; ତେବେ ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ କିପରି କରି ବଞ୍ଚିବା?’
And thou, son of man, say to the house of Israel, Thus ye speak, saying, Our transgressions and our sins are upon us, and we pine away in them. How then can we live?
11 ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ କୁହ, ପ୍ରଭୁ, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଏହି କଥା କହନ୍ତି, ଆମ୍ଭେ ଜୀବିତ ଥିବା ପ୍ରମାଣେ ଦୁଷ୍ଟର ମରଣରେ ଆମ୍ଭର ସନ୍ତୋଷ ନାହିଁ, ମାତ୍ର ଦୁଷ୍ଟ ଯେପରି ଫେରି ବଞ୍ଚେ, ଏଥିରେ ହିଁ ଆମ୍ଭର ସନ୍ତୋଷ ଅଛି; ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଫେର, ଆପଣା ଆପଣା କୁପଥରୁ ଫେର; କାରଣ ହେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ବଂଶ, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କାହିଁକି ମରିବ?
Say to them, As I live, says the lord Jehovah, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked man, but that the wicked man turn from his way and live. Turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways, for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
12 ପୁଣି, ହେ ମନୁଷ୍ୟ-ସନ୍ତାନ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆପଣା ଲୋକଙ୍କ ସନ୍ତାନଗଣକୁ କୁହ, ଧାର୍ମିକର ଧାର୍ମିକତା ତାହାର ଆଜ୍ଞାଲଙ୍ଘନ କରିବା ଦିନ ତାହାକୁ ରକ୍ଷା କରିବ ନାହିଁ ଓ ଯେଉଁ ଦିନ ଦୁଷ୍ଟ ଲୋକ ଆପଣା ଦୁଷ୍ଟତାରୁ ଫେରେ, ସେହି ଦିନ ସେ ଆପଣା ଦୁଷ୍ଟତା ଦ୍ୱାରା ପତିତ ହେବ ନାହିଁ; କିଅବା ଧାର୍ମିକ ଲୋକ ଯେଉଁ ଦିନ ପାପ କରେ, ସେହି ଦିନ ସେ ଆପଣା ଧାର୍ମିକତା ଦ୍ୱାରା ବଞ୍ଚି ପାରିବ ନାହିଁ।
And thou, son of man, say to the sons of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous man shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression. And as for the wickedness of the wicked man, he shall not fall by it in the day that he turns from his wickedness, nor shall he who is righteous be able to live by it in the day that he sins.
13 ସେ ଅବଶ୍ୟ ବଞ୍ଚିବ, ଏହି କଥା ଆମ୍ଭେ ଧାର୍ମିକକୁ କହିଲେ, ସେ ଯଦି ଆପଣା ଧର୍ମରେ ନିର୍ଭର ରଖି ଅଧର୍ମ କରେ, ତେବେ ତାହାର କୌଣସି ଧର୍ମକର୍ମ ସ୍ମରଣ କରାଯିବ ନାହିଁ, ମାତ୍ର ସେ ଯେଉଁ ଅଧର୍ମ କରିଅଛି, ତହିଁରେ ହିଁ ସେ ମରିବ।
When I say to the righteous man, that he shall surely live, if he trusts his righteousness, and commits iniquity, none of his righteous deeds shall be remembered, but in his iniquity that he has committed, in it he shall die.
14 ପୁନଶ୍ଚ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଅବଶ୍ୟ ମରିବ, ଏହି କଥା ଆମ୍ଭେ ଦୁଷ୍ଟ ଲୋକକୁ କହିଲେ, ସେ ଯଦି ଆପଣା ପାପରୁ ଫେରି ନ୍ୟାୟ ଓ ଧର୍ମାଚରଣ କରେ;
Again, when I say to the wicked man, Thou shall surely die, if he turns from his sin, and does that which is lawful and right,
15 ସେହି ଦୁଷ୍ଟ ଲୋକ ଯଦି ବନ୍ଧକି ଦ୍ରବ୍ୟ ଫେରାଇ ଦିଏ, ସେ ଯାହା ଅପହରଣ କରିଥିଲା, ତାହା ପରିଶୋଧ କରେ, କୌଣସି ଅଧର୍ମ ନ କରି ଜୀବନଦାୟକ ବିଧିରୂପ ପଥରେ ଚାଲେ; ତେବେ ସେ ଅବଶ୍ୟ ବଞ୍ଚିବ, ସେ ମରିବ ନାହିଁ।
if the wicked man restores the pledge, gives again that which he had taken by robbery, walks in the statutes of life, committing no iniquity, he shall surely live; he shall not die.
16 ତାହାର କୃତ କୌଣସି ପାପ ତାହା ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ସ୍ମରଣ କରାଯିବ ନାହିଁ; ସେ ନ୍ୟାୟ ଓ ଧର୍ମାଚରଣ କରିଅଛି; ସେ ଅବଶ୍ୟ ବଞ୍ଚିବ।
None of his sins that he has committed shall be remembered against him. He has done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live.
17 ତଥାପି ତୁମ୍ଭ ଲୋକଙ୍କର ସନ୍ତାନଗଣ କହୁଅଛନ୍ତି, ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ପଥ ସରଳ ନୁହେଁ; ମାତ୍ର ପ୍ରକୃତରେ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ପଥ ସରଳ ନୁହେଁ।
Yet the sons of thy people say, The way of the Lord is not equitable. But as for them, their way is not equitable.
18 ଧାର୍ମିକ ଲୋକ ଆପଣା ଧାର୍ମିକତାରୁ ଫେରି ଅଧର୍ମ କଲେ, ସେ ତହିଁରେ ହିଁ ମରିବ।
When the righteous man turns from his righteousness, and commits iniquity, he shall even die in it.
19 ପୁଣି, ଦୁଷ୍ଟ ଲୋକ ଆପଣା ଦୁଷ୍ଟତାରୁ ଫେରି ନ୍ୟାୟ ଓ ଧର୍ମାଚରଣ କଲେ, ସେ ତହିଁରେ ବଞ୍ଚିବ।
And when the wicked man turns from his wickedness, and does that which is lawful and right, he shall live thereby.
20 ତଥାପି ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କହୁଅଛ, ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ପଥ ସରଳ ନୁହେଁ। ହେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ବଂଶ, ଆମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ ଲୋକକୁ ତାହାର ଆଚାର ବ୍ୟବହାର ଅନୁସାରେ ବିଚାର କରିବା।”
Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equitable. O house of Israel, I will judge you everyone according to his ways.
21 ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନିର୍ବାସନର ଦ୍ୱାଦଶ ବର୍ଷର ଦଶମ ମାସର ପଞ୍ଚମ ଦିନରେ ଯିରୂଶାଲମରୁ ପଳାତକ ଏକ ଜଣ ମୋʼ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସି କହିଲା, “ନଗର ପରାଜିତ ହୋଇଅଛି।”
And it came to pass in the twelfth year of our captivity, in the tenth month, in the fifth day of the month, that a man who had escaped out of Jerusalem came to me, saying, The city is smitten.
22 ସେହି ପଳାତକ ଆସିବାର ପୂର୍ବେ ସନ୍ଧ୍ୟା ସମୟରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ହସ୍ତ ମୋʼ ଉପରେ ଥିଲା; ଆଉ, ପ୍ରାତଃକାଳରେ ସେ ପଳାତକ ଆସିବା ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ସେ ମୋର ମୁଖ ଫିଟାଇଥିଲେ; ତେବେଠାରୁ ମୋର ମୁଖ ଫିଟା ରହିଲା ଓ ଆଉ ମୁଁ ଘୁଙ୍ଗା ହୋଇ ରହିଲି ନାହିଁ।
Now the hand of Jehovah had been upon me in the evening, before he who escaped came. And he had opened my mouth until he came to me in the morning. And my mouth was opened, and I was no more mute.
23 ଏଉତ୍ତାରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ବାକ୍ୟ ମୋʼ ନିକଟରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହେଲା, ଯଥା;
And the word of Jehovah came to me, saying,
24 “ହେ ମନୁଷ୍ୟ-ସନ୍ତାନ, ଯେଉଁମାନେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ଦେଶର, ସେହି ସକଳ ଉତ୍ସନ୍ନ ସ୍ଥାନରେ ବାସ କରନ୍ତି, ସେମାନେ କହୁଅଛନ୍ତି, ଅବ୍ରହାମ ଏକମାତ୍ର ଥିଲେ, ଆଉ ସେ ଦେଶ ଅଧିକାର କଲେ; ମାତ୍ର ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଅନେକ ଲୋକ; ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଏହି ଦେଶ ଅଧିକାରାର୍ଥେ ଦତ୍ତ ହୋଇଅଛି।
Son of man, those who inhabit those waste places in the land of Israel speak, saying, Abraham was one, and he inherited the land, but we are many; the land is given us for inheritance.
25 ଏଥିପାଇଁ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ କୁହ, ପ୍ରଭୁ, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଏହି କଥା କହନ୍ତି; ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ରକ୍ତ ସହିତ ମାଂସ ଖାଉଅଛ ଓ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ପ୍ରତିମାଗଣ ପ୍ରତି ଦୃଷ୍ଟି ଟେକୁଅଛ ଓ ରକ୍ତପାତ କରୁଅଛ; ଆଉ, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କି ଦେଶ ଅଧିକାର କରିବ?
Therefore say to them, Thus says the lord Jehovah: Ye eat with the blood, and lift up your eyes to your idols, and shed blood. And shall ye possess the land?
26 ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ଖଡ୍ଗରେ ନିର୍ଭର କରୁଅଛ ଓ ଘୃଣାଯୋଗ୍ୟ କର୍ମ କରୁଅଛ ଓ ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକେ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ପ୍ରତିବାସୀର ଭାର୍ଯ୍ୟାକୁ ଅଶୁଚି କରୁଅଛ, ଆଉ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କି ଦେଶ ଅଧିକାର କରିବ?
Ye stand upon your sword, ye work abomination, and ye defile every man his neighbor's wife. And shall ye possess the land?
27 ଏହି ପ୍ରକାରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିବ, ପ୍ରଭୁ, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଏହି କଥା କହନ୍ତି; ଆମ୍ଭେ ଜୀବିତ ଥିବା ପ୍ରମାଣେ ଉତ୍ସନ୍ନ ସ୍ଥାନ ସକଳରେ ଥିବା ଲୋକମାନେ ନିଶ୍ଚୟ ଖଡ୍ଗ ଦ୍ୱାରା ପତିତ ହେବେ ଓ ଯେଉଁ ଜନ ପଡ଼ିଆରେ ଅଛି, ଆମ୍ଭେ ତାହାକୁ ଭକ୍ଷ୍ୟ ରୂପେ ପଶୁମାନଙ୍କୁ ଦେବା, ଆଉ ଯେଉଁମାନେ ଦୃଢ଼ ଦୁର୍ଗରେ ଓ ଗୁହାରେ ଥାʼନ୍ତି, ସେମାନେ ମହାମାରୀରେ ମରିବେ।
Thus shall thou say to them. Thus says the lord Jehovah: As I live, surely those who are in the waste places shall fall by the sword, and he who is in the open field I will give to the beasts to be devoured, and those who are in the strongholds and in the caves shall die of the pestilence.
28 ପୁଣି, ଆମ୍ଭେ ଦେଶକୁ ଧ୍ୱଂସିତ ଓ ବିସ୍ମୟର ସ୍ଥାନ କରିବା, ତହିଁରେ ତାହାର ପରାକ୍ରମର ଗର୍ବ ଲୁପ୍ତ ହେବ; ପୁଣି, ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ପର୍ବତଗଣ ଧ୍ୱଂସିତ ହେବ, ତହିଁରେ କେହି ତହିଁ ମଧ୍ୟଦେଇ ଗମନ କରିବେ ନାହିଁ।
And I will make the land a desolation and an astonishment. And the pride of her power shall cease. And the mountains of Israel shall be desolate, so that none shall pass through.
29 ଆମ୍ଭେ ସେମାନଙ୍କର କୃତ ସକଳ ଘୃଣାଯୋଗ୍ୟ କ୍ରିୟା ସକାଶୁ ଯେତେବେଳେ ଦେଶକୁ ଧ୍ୱଂସିତ ଓ ନିର୍ଜନ ସ୍ଥାନ କରିବା, ସେତେବେଳେ ଆମ୍ଭେ ଯେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଅଟୁ, ଏହା ସେମାନେ ଜାଣିବେ।
Then they shall know that I am Jehovah when I have made the land a desolation and an astonishment, because of all their abominations which they have committed.
30 ପୁଣି, ହେ ମନୁଷ୍ୟ-ସନ୍ତାନ, ତୁମ୍ଭ ଲୋକଙ୍କର ସନ୍ତାନମାନେ କାନ୍ଥ ନିକଟରେ ଓ ଗୃହମାନଙ୍କର ସକଳ ଦ୍ୱାରଦେଶରେ ତୁମ୍ଭ ବିଷୟରେ କଥାବାର୍ତ୍ତା କରନ୍ତି, ଆଉ ପରସ୍ପର, ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକେ ଆପଣା ଭ୍ରାତାକୁ କହନ୍ତି, ‘ଆସ, ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କଠାରୁ ଆଗତ କଥା ଶୁଣୁ।’
And as for thee, son of man, the sons of thy people talk of thee by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, each one to his brother, saying, Come, I pray you, and hear what is the word that comes forth from Jehovah.
31 ପୁଣି, ସେମାନେ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ପରି ତୁମ୍ଭ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସନ୍ତି ଓ ଆମ୍ଭ ଲୋକଙ୍କ ପରି ତୁମ୍ଭ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ବସନ୍ତି ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭ କଥା ଶୁଣନ୍ତି, ମାତ୍ର ତାହା ପାଳନ କରନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ; କାରଣ ସେମାନେ ମୁଖରେ ବହୁତ ପ୍ରେମ ଦେଖାନ୍ତି, ମାତ୍ର ସେମାନଙ୍କର ଅନ୍ତଃକରଣ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ଲାଭର ଅନୁଗାମୀ ହୁଏ।
And they come to thee as the people come, and they sit before thee as my people. And they hear thy words, but do not do them. For with their mouth they show much love, but their heart goes after their gain.
32 ଆଉ ଦେଖ, ଯାହାର ମଧୁର ସ୍ୱର ଅଛି ଓ ଯେ ଉତ୍ତମ ରୂପେ ବାଦ୍ୟଯନ୍ତ୍ର ବଜାଇ ପାରେ, ଏପରି ଲୋକର ଅତି ମନୋହର ଗୀତ ସ୍ୱରୂପ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ଅଟ; କାରଣ ସେମାନେ ତୁମ୍ଭର କଥା ଶୁଣନ୍ତି, ମାତ୍ର ତାହା ପାଳନ କରନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ।
And, lo, thou are to them as a very lovely song of he who has a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument. For they hear thy words, but they do not do them.
33 ପୁଣି, ଏହା ଯେତେବେଳେ ଘଟିବ, ଦେଖ, ଘଟିବାର ନିକଟ ହେଲାଣି, ସେତେବେଳେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଯେ ଜଣେ ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦ୍ବକ୍ତା ଥିଲେ, ଏହା ସେମାନେ ଜାଣିବେ।”
And when this comes to pass, (behold, it comes), then they shall know that a prophet has been among them.
