ପ୍ରଥମ ରାଜାବଳୀ 2
1 ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କର ମରଣକାଳ ସନ୍ନିକଟ ହୁଅନ୍ତେ, ସେ ଆପଣା ପୁତ୍ର ଶଲୋମନଙ୍କୁ ଆଜ୍ଞା ଦେଇ କହିଲେ,
Now the days of David came near that he should die; and he commanded Solomon his son, saying,
2 “ମୁଁ ସମଗ୍ର ମର୍ତ୍ତ୍ୟର ମାର୍ଗରେ ଯାଉଅଛି; ଏହେତୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ବଳବାନ ହୁଅ ଓ ପୁରୁଷତ୍ୱ ପ୍ରକାଶ କର।
“I am going the way of all the earth. You be strong therefore, and show yourself a man;
3 ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଯାହା ଯାହା କରିବ ଓ ଯେକୌଣସି ସ୍ଥାନକୁ ଯିବ, ସେହି ସବୁରେ ଯେପରି କୁଶଳ ପ୍ରାପ୍ତ ହୁଅ, ଏଥିପାଇଁ ମୋଶାଙ୍କ ବ୍ୟବସ୍ଥା-ଲିଖିତ ବାକ୍ୟାନୁସାରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ବିଧି ଓ ଆଜ୍ଞା ଓ ଶାସନ ଓ ପ୍ରମାଣ-ବାକ୍ୟ ପାଳନ କରି ତାହାଙ୍କ ପଥରେ ଚାଲ ଓ ତାହାଙ୍କର ରକ୍ଷଣୀୟ ରକ୍ଷା କର;
and keep the instruction of the LORD your God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, his commandments, his ordinances, and his testimonies, according to that which is written in the Torah of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do and wherever you turn yourself.
4 ତହିଁରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ମୋʼ ବିଷୟରେ ଯାହା କହିଅଛନ୍ତି, ଯଥା, ‘ଯଦି ତୁମ୍ଭ ସନ୍ତାନମାନେ ସମସ୍ତ ଅନ୍ତଃକରଣ ଓ ସମସ୍ତ ପ୍ରାଣ ସହିତ ଆମ୍ଭ ଛାମୁରେ ସତ୍ୟାଚରଣ କରିବାକୁ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ପଥରେ ସାବଧାନ ହେବେ, ତେବେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ସିଂହାସନରେ ବସିବାକୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ବଂଶରେ ଲୋକର ଅଭାବ ନୋହିବ, ସେ ଆପଣାର ଏହି ବାକ୍ୟ ସଫଳ କରିବେ।’
Then the LORD may establish his word which he spoke concerning me, saying, ‘If your children are careful of their way, to walk before me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, there shall not fail you,’ he said, ‘a man on the throne of Israel.’
5 ଆହୁରି ସରୁୟାର ପୁତ୍ର ଯୋୟାବ ମୋʼ ପ୍ରତି ଯାହା କରିଅଛି, ପୁଣି, ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ଦୁଇ ସେନାପତି, ନେର୍ର ପୁତ୍ର ଅବ୍ନର ଓ ଯେଥରର ପୁତ୍ର ଅମାସା ପ୍ରତି ଯାହା କରିଅଛି, ତାହା ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଜାଣ; ସେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ବଧ କରି ସନ୍ଧି ସମୟରେ ଯୁଦ୍ଧ ସମୟର ନ୍ୟାୟ ରକ୍ତପାତ କଲା ଓ ସେହି ଯୁଦ୍ଧଯୋଗ୍ୟ ରକ୍ତ ଆପଣା କଟିସ୍ଥିତ ବନ୍ଧନୀରେ ଓ ପାଦସ୍ଥିତ ପାଦୁକାରେ ଲଗାଇଲା।
“Moreover you know also what Joab the son of Zeruiah did to me, even what he did to the two captains of the armies of Israel, to Abner the son of Ner and to Amasa the son of Jether, whom he killed, and shed the blood of war in peace, and put the blood of war on his sash that was around his waist and in his sandals that were on his feet.
6 ଏହେତୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆପଣା ଜ୍ଞାନାନୁସାରେ ତାହା ପ୍ରତି ବ୍ୟବହାର କର ଓ ତାହାର ପକ୍ୱକେଶ-ମସ୍ତକକୁ ଶାନ୍ତିରେ ପାତାଳକୁ ଯିବା ପାଇଁ ନ ଦିଅ। (Sheol h7585)
Do therefore according to your wisdom, and don’t let his gray head go down to Sheol in peace. (Sheol h7585)
7 ମାତ୍ର, ଗିଲୀୟଦୀୟ ବର୍ସିଲ୍ଲୟର ପୁତ୍ରମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଦୟା ପ୍ରକାଶ କର, ଆଉ, ତୁମ୍ଭ ମେଜରେ ଭୋଜନକାରୀମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ସ୍ଥାନ ଦିଅ; କାରଣ, ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ଭ୍ରାତା ଅବଶାଲୋମଠାରୁ ପଳାଇବା ସମୟରେ ସେମାନେ ସେପରି ମୋʼ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସିଥିଲେ।
But show kindness to the sons of Barzillai the Gileadite, and let them be among those who eat at your table; for so they came to me when I fled from Absalom your brother.
8 ଆଉ ଦେଖ, ତୁମ୍ଭ ନିକଟରେ ବିନ୍ୟାମୀନୀୟ ଗେରାର ପୁତ୍ର ବହୁରୀମ ନିବାସୀ ଶିମୀୟି ଅଛି; ମୁଁ ମହନୟିମକୁ ଯିବା ଦିନ ସେ ମୋତେ ଦାରୁଣ ଅଭିଶାପରେ ଅଭିଶାପ ଦେଇଥିଲା, ମାତ୍ର, ସେ ଯର୍ଦ୍ଦନ ନିକଟରେ ମୋତେ ଭେଟିବାକୁ ଆସିଥିଲା ଓ ମୁଁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ନାମରେ ଶପଥ କରି ତାହାକୁ କହିଥିଲି, ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଖଡ୍ଗରେ ବଧ କରିବି ନାହିଁ।
“Behold, there is with you Shimei the son of Gera, the Benjamite of Bahurim, who cursed me with a grievous curse in the day when I went to Mahanaim; but he came down to meet me at the Jordan, and I swore to him by the LORD, saying, ‘I will not put you to death with the sword.’
9 ତୁମ୍ଭେ ତ ଜ୍ଞାନୀ ଲୋକ; ଏଣୁ ତାହାକୁ ନିରପରାଧ ମଣିବ ନାହିଁ; ଆଉ ତୁମ୍ଭର ତାହା ପ୍ରତି ଯାହା କର୍ତ୍ତବ୍ୟ, ତାହା ବୁଝିବ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ତାହାର ପକ୍ୱକେଶ-ମସ୍ତକ ରକ୍ତ ସହିତ ପାତାଳକୁ ଆଣିବ।” (Sheol h7585)
Now therefore don’t hold him guiltless, for you are a wise man; and you will know what you ought to do to him, and you shall bring his gray head down to Sheol with blood.” (Sheol h7585)
10 ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ଦାଉଦ ଆପଣା ପିତୃଲୋକଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଶୟନ କଲେ ଓ ଦାଉଦ-ନଗରରେ କବର ପାଇଲେ।
David slept with his fathers, and was buried in David’s city.
11 ଦାଉଦ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ଉପରେ ଚାଳିଶ ବର୍ଷ ରାଜ୍ୟ କଲେ; ସେ ସାତ ବର୍ଷ ହିବ୍ରୋଣରେ ରାଜ୍ୟ କଲେ ଓ ତେତିଶ ବର୍ଷ ଯିରୂଶାଲମରେ ରାଜ୍ୟ କଲେ।
The days that David reigned over Israel were forty years; he reigned seven years in Hebron, and he reigned thirty-three years in Jerusalem.
12 ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ଶଲୋମନ ଆପଣାର ପିତା ଦାଉଦଙ୍କର ସିଂହାସନରେ ଉପବିଷ୍ଟ ହେଲେ ଓ ତାଙ୍କର ରାଜ୍ୟ ଅତିଶୟ ଦୃଢ଼ ହେଲା।
Solomon sat on David his father’s throne; and his kingdom was firmly established.
13 ତହିଁରେ ହଗୀତର ପୁତ୍ର ଅଦୋନୀୟ ଶଲୋମନଙ୍କର ମାତା ବତ୍ଶେବା ନିକଟକୁ ଆସନ୍ତେ, ସେ ପଚାରିଲେ, “କୁଶଳରେ ଆସିଲ?” ସେ ଉତ୍ତର କଲା, “କୁଶଳରେ।”
Then Adonijah the son of Haggith came to Bathsheba the mother of Solomon. She said, “Do you come peaceably?” He said, “Peaceably.
14 ସେ ଆହୁରି କହିଲା, “ମୋହର ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ କିଛି କହିବାର ଅଛି।” ବତ୍ଶେବା କହିଲେ, “କୁହ।”
He said moreover, I have something to tell you.” She said, “Say on.”
15 ତହୁଁ ସେ କହିଲା, “ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଜାଣ ଯେ, ରାଜ୍ୟ ମୋହର ଥିଲା ଓ ମୁଁ ରାଜ୍ୟ କରିବି ବୋଲି ସମଗ୍ର ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ମୋʼ ପ୍ରତି ଅନାଇଥିଲେ; ଯାହାହେଉ, ରାଜ୍ୟ ବଦଳି ଯାଇ ମୋʼ ଭାଇଙ୍କର ହୋଇଅଛି; କାରଣ, ତାହା ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଆଡ଼ୁ ତାଙ୍କର ଥିଲା।
He said, “You know that the kingdom was mine, and that all Israel set their faces on me, that I should reign. However, the kingdom is turned around, and has become my brother’s; for it was his from the LORD.
16 ଏଣୁ ଏବେ ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଗୋଟିଏ ନିବେଦନ କରୁଅଛି, ମୋତେ ମନା ନ କର।” ବତ୍ଶେବା ତାହାକୁ କହିଲେ, “କୁହ।”
Now I ask one petition of you. Don’t deny me.” She said to him, “Say on.”
17 ତହୁଁ ସେ କହିଲା, “ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଅନୁଗ୍ରହ କରି ଶୁନେମୀୟା ଅବୀଶଗକୁ ମୋʼ ସଙ୍ଗେ ବିବାହ ଦେବା ପାଇଁ ଶଲୋମନ ରାଜାଙ୍କୁ କୁହ, ସେ ତ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ନାସ୍ତି କରିବେ ନାହିଁ।”
He said, “Please speak to Solomon the king (for he will not tell you ‘no’), that he give me Abishag the Shunammite as wife.”
18 ଏଥିରେ ବତ୍ଶେବା କହିଲେ, “ଭଲ; ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପାଇଁ ରାଜାଙ୍କୁ କହିବି।”
Bathsheba said, “All right. I will speak for you to the king.”
19 ଏହେତୁ ବତ୍ଶେବା ଅଦୋନୀୟ ନିମନ୍ତେ କହିବା ପାଇଁ ଶଲୋମନ ରାଜାଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଗଲେ। ତହୁଁ ରାଜା ତାଙ୍କୁ ଭେଟିବା ପାଇଁ ଉଠି ପ୍ରଣାମ କଲେ ଓ ଆପଣା ସିଂହାସନରେ ବସି ରାଜମାତାଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଆସନ ରଖାଇଲେ; ତହିଁରେ ସେ ତାଙ୍କର ଦକ୍ଷିଣ ପାଖରେ ବସିଲେ।
Bathsheba therefore went to King Solomon, to speak to him for Adonijah. The king rose up to meet her and bowed himself to her, and sat down on his throne and caused a throne to be set for the king’s mother; and she sat on his right hand.
20 ତେବେ ସେ କହିଲେ, “ତୁମ୍ଭଠାରେ ମୋହର ଏକ କ୍ଷୁଦ୍ର ନିବେଦନ ଅଛି; ମୋତେ ନାସ୍ତି ନ କର।” ତହୁଁ ରାଜା ତାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ମୋହର ମାତା, କୁହ; କାରଣ, ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ନାସ୍ତି କରିବି ନାହିଁ।”
Then she said, “I ask one small petition of you; don’t deny me.” The king said to her, “Ask on, my mother, for I will not deny you.”
21 ଏଥିରେ ସେ କହିଲେ, “ଶୁନେମୀୟା ଅବୀଶଗକୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ଭାଇ ଅଦୋନୀୟ ସହିତ ବିବାହ ଦିଆଯାଉ।”
She said, “Let Abishag the Shunammite be given to Adonijah your brother as wife.”
22 ତହୁଁ ଶଲୋମନ ରାଜା ଉତ୍ତର କରି ଆପଣା ମାତାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଅଦୋନୀୟ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଶୁନେମୀୟା ଅବୀଶଗକୁ କାହିଁକି ମାଗୁଅଛ? ତାହା ପାଇଁ ରାଜ୍ୟ ମଧ୍ୟ ମାଗ, କାରଣ, ସେ ତ ମୋହର ବଡ଼ ଭାଇ; ହଁ ତାହା ପାଇଁ, ପୁଣି, ଅବୀୟାଥର ଯାଜକ ଓ ସରୁୟାର ପୁତ୍ର ଯୋୟାବ ପାଇଁ ମଧ୍ୟ ମାଗ।”
King Solomon answered his mother, “Why do you ask Abishag the Shunammite for Adonijah? Ask for him the kingdom also, for he is my elder brother; even for him, and for Abiathar the priest, and for Joab the son of Zeruiah.”
23 ସେତେବେଳେ ଶଲୋମନ ରାଜା ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ନାମରେ ଶପଥ କରି କହିଲେ, “ଯେବେ ଅଦୋନୀୟ ଏହି କଥା ଆପଣା ପ୍ରାଣ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ କହି ନ ଥାଏ, ତେବେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ମୋତେ ସେହି ଦଣ୍ଡ, ମଧ୍ୟ ତହିଁରୁ ଅଧିକ ଦେଉନ୍ତୁ।
Then King Solomon swore by the LORD, saying, “God do so to me, and more also, if Adonijah has not spoken this word against his own life.
24 ଏହେତୁ ଯେଉଁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ନିଜ ପ୍ରତିଜ୍ଞାନୁସାରେ ମୋତେ ସୁସ୍ଥିର କରି ମୋʼ ପିତା ଦାଉଦଙ୍କ ସିଂହାସନରେ ମୋତେ ବସାଇ ଅଛନ୍ତି ଓ ଯେ ମୋʼ ଗୃହ ଦୃଢ଼ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି, ତାହାଙ୍କ ଜୀବିତ ଥିବା ପ୍ରମାଣେ ଅଦୋନୀୟ ନିଶ୍ଚୟ ଆଜି ହତ ହେବ।”
Now therefore as the LORD lives, who has established me and set me on my father David’s throne, and who has made me a house as he promised, surely Adonijah shall be put to death today.”
25 ଏଉତ୍ତାରେ ଶଲୋମନ ରାଜା ଯିହୋୟାଦାର ପୁତ୍ର ବନାୟକୁ ପଠାଇଲେ; ତହୁଁ ସେ ତାହାକୁ ଆକ୍ରମଣ କରନ୍ତେ, ସେ ମଲା।
King Solomon sent Benaiah the son of Jehoiada; and he fell on him, so that he died.
26 ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ରାଜା ଅବୀୟାଥର ଯାଜକଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଅନାଥୋତ୍କୁ ଆପଣା କ୍ଷେତ୍ରକୁ ଯାଅ; କାରଣ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମୃତ୍ୟୁୁଯୋଗ୍ୟ; ମାତ୍ର, ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ବଧ କରିବି ନାହିଁ, ଯେହେତୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମୋʼ ପିତା ଦାଉଦଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ପ୍ରଭୁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ସିନ୍ଦୁକ ବହିଥିଲ, ଆହୁରି ମୋʼ ପିତାଙ୍କ ସମସ୍ତ ଦୁଃଖଭୋଗରେ ଦୁଃଖଭୋଗ କରିଥିଲ।”
To Abiathar the priest the king said, “Go to Anathoth, to your own fields, for you are worthy of death. But I will not at this time put you to death, because you bore the Lord GOD’s ark before David my father, and because you were afflicted in all in which my father was afflicted.”
27 ଏନିମନ୍ତେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଶୀଲୋରେ ଏଲିର ବଂଶ ବିଷୟରେ ଯାହା କହିଥିଲେ, ତାହାଙ୍କର ସେହି ବାକ୍ୟ ସିଦ୍ଧ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ଶଲୋମନ ଅବୀୟାଥରକୁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଯାଜକ କର୍ମରୁ ଦୂର କରିଦେଲେ।
So Solomon thrust Abiathar out from being priest to the LORD, that he might fulfill the LORD’s word which he spoke concerning the house of Eli in Shiloh.
28 ଏଉତ୍ତାରେ ଯୋୟାବ ନିକଟରେ ସମ୍ବାଦ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହେଲା, କାରଣ ଯୋୟାବ ଯଦ୍ୟପି ଅବଶାଲୋମର ଅନୁଗାମୀ ହେବା ପାଇଁ ବିପଥଗାମୀ ହୋଇ ନ ଥିଲା, ତଥାପି ଅଦୋନୀୟର ଅନୁଗାମୀ ହେବା ପାଇଁ ବିପଥଗାମୀ ହେଲା। ସେଥିସକାଶୁ ଯୋୟାବ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ତମ୍ବୁକୁ ପଳାଇ ଯଜ୍ଞବେଦିର ଶୃଙ୍ଗ ଧରିପକାଇଲା।
This news came to Joab; for Joab had followed Adonijah, although he didn’t follow Absalom. Joab fled to the LORD’s Tent, and held onto the horns of the altar.
29 ଏଉତ୍ତାରେ ଦେଖ, “ଯୋୟାବ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ତମ୍ବୁକୁ ପଳାଇ ବେଦି ନିକଟରେ ଅଛି,” ଏହି ସମ୍ବାଦ ଶଲୋମନ ରାଜାଙ୍କୁ ଦିଆଯାଆନ୍ତେ, ସେ ଯିହୋୟାଦାର ପୁତ୍ର ବନାୟକୁ ପଠାଇ କହିଲେ, ଯାଅ, ତାକୁ ଆକ୍ରମଣ କର।
King Solomon was told, “Joab has fled to the LORD’s Tent; and behold, he is by the altar.” Then Solomon sent Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, saying, “Go, fall on him.”
30 ତହିଁରେ ବନାୟ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ତମ୍ବୁକୁ ଯାଇ ତାହାକୁ କହିଲା, “ରାଜା କହିଅଛନ୍ତି, ବାହାରକୁ ଆସ।” ମାତ୍ର ସେ କହିଲା, “ନା, ମୁଁ ଏଠାରେ ମରିବି।” ଏଥିରେ ବନାୟ ପୁଣି, ରାଜାଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ସମ୍ବାଦ ଆଣି କହିଲା, “ଯୋୟାବ ଏପରି କହିଲା ଓ ମୋତେ ଏପରି ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଲା।”
Benaiah came to the LORD’s Tent, and said to him, “The king says, ‘Come out!’” He said, “No; but I will die here.” Benaiah brought the king word again, saying, “This is what Joab said, and this is how he answered me.”
31 ତେବେ ରାଜା ତାହାକୁ କହିଲେ, “ସେ ଯେପରି କହିଅଛି, ସେପରି କର, ତାହାକୁ ଆଘାତ କର ଓ ତାହାକୁ କବର ଦିଅ; ତହିଁରେ ଯୋୟାବ ଅକାରଣରେ ଯେଉଁ ରକ୍ତପାତ କରିଅଛି, ତହିଁର ଅପରାଧ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମୋʼ ଠାରୁ ଓ ମୋʼ ପିତୃଗୃହରୁ ଦୂର କରିବ।
The king said to him, “Do as he has said, and fall on him, and bury him, that you may take away the blood, which Joab shed without cause, from me and from my father’s house.
32 ପୁଣି, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତାହାର ରକ୍ତପାତର ଅପରାଧ ତାହାର ନିଜ ମସ୍ତକରେ ବର୍ତ୍ତାଇବେ, କାରଣ, ସେ ମୋʼ ପିତା ଦାଉଦଙ୍କ ଅଜ୍ଞାତସାରରେ ଆପଣାଠାରୁ ଧାର୍ମିକ ଓ ଉତ୍ତମ, ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ସେନାପତି ନେର୍ର ପୁତ୍ର ଅବ୍ନର ଓ ଯିହୁଦାର ସେନାପତି ଯେଥରର ପୁତ୍ର ଅମାସା, ଏ ଦୁଇ ଜଣଙ୍କୁ ଆକ୍ରମଣ କରି ଖଡ୍ଗରେ ବଧ କରିଥିଲା।
The LORD will return his blood on his own head, because he fell on two men more righteous and better than he, and killed them with the sword, and my father David didn’t know it: Abner the son of Ner, captain of the army of Israel, and Amasa the son of Jether, captain of the army of Judah.
33 ତହୁଁ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ରକ୍ତପାତର ଅପରାଧ ଯୋୟାବର ମସ୍ତକରେ ଓ ସଦାକାଳ ତାହାର ବଂଶର ମସ୍ତକରେ ବର୍ତ୍ତିବ; ମାତ୍ର ଦାଉଦଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଓ ତାଙ୍କ ବଂଶ ପ୍ରତି ଓ ତାଙ୍କ ଗୃହ ପ୍ରତି ଓ ତାଙ୍କ ସିଂହାସନ ପ୍ରତି, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କଠାରୁ ସଦାକାଳ ଶାନ୍ତି ବର୍ତ୍ତିବ।”
So their blood will return on the head of Joab and on the head of his offspring forever. But for David, for his offspring, for his house, and for his throne, there will be peace forever from the LORD.”
34 ଏଉତ୍ତାରେ ଯିହୋୟାଦାର ପୁତ୍ର ବନାୟ ଯାଇ ତାହାକୁ ଆକ୍ରମଣ କରି ବଧ କଲା ଓ ପ୍ରାନ୍ତରସ୍ଥ ତାହାର ନିଜ ଗୃହରେ ତାହାକୁ କବର ଦିଆଗଲା।
Then Benaiah the son of Jehoiada went up and fell on him, and killed him; and he was buried in his own house in the wilderness.
35 ପୁଣି, ରାଜା ତାହାର ପଦରେ ଯିହୋୟାଦାର ପୁତ୍ର ବନାୟକୁ ସେନାପତି କରି ନିଯୁକ୍ତ କଲେ ଓ ରାଜା ଅବୀୟାଥର ପଦରେ ସାଦୋକଙ୍କୁ ଯାଜକ କରି ନିଯୁକ୍ତ କଲେ।
The king put Benaiah the son of Jehoiada in his place over the army; and the king put Zadok the priest in the place of Abiathar.
36 ଏଉତ୍ତାରେ ରାଜା ଲୋକ ପଠାଇ ଶିମୀୟିକୁ ଡକାଇ କହିଲେ, “ଯିରୂଶାଲମରେ ଆପଣା ପାଇଁ ଏକ ଗୃହ ନିର୍ମାଣ କରି ସେଠାରେ ବାସ କର, ଆଉ ସେଠାରୁ ଅନ୍ୟ କୌଣସି ସ୍ଥାନକୁ ଯାଅ ନାହିଁ।
The king sent and called for Shimei, and said to him, “Build yourself a house in Jerusalem, and live there, and don’t go anywhere else.
37 କାରଣ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଯେଉଁ ଦିନ ବାହାରି କିଦ୍ରୋଣ ନଦୀ ପାର ହେବ; ସେହି ଦିନ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ନିତାନ୍ତ ମରିବ, ଏହା ନିଶ୍ଚୟ ଜାଣ; ତୁମ୍ଭ ରକ୍ତପାତର ଅପରାଧ ତୁମ୍ଭ ନିଜ ମସ୍ତକରେ ବର୍ତ୍ତିବ।”
For on the day you go out and pass over the brook Kidron, know for certain that you will surely die. Your blood will be on your own head.”
38 ତହିଁରେ ଶିମୀୟି ରାଜାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲା, “ଏ ଉତ୍ତମ କଥା; ମୋʼ ପ୍ରଭୁ ମହାରାଜ ଯେପରି କହିଅଛନ୍ତି, ଆପଣଙ୍କ ଦାସ ସେପରି କରିବ।” ଏଣୁ ଶିମୀୟି ଅନେକ ଦିନ ଯିରୂଶାଲମରେ ବାସ କଲା।
Shimei said to the king, “What you say is good. As my lord the king has said, so will your servant do.” Shimei lived in Jerusalem many days.
39 ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ତିନି ବର୍ଷ ଶେଷରେ ଶିମୀୟିର ଦାସମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ଦୁଇ ଜଣ ମାଖାର ପୁତ୍ର ଗାଥୀୟ ରାଜା ଆଖୀଶ୍ ନିକଟକୁ ପଳାଇଲେ। ଏଥିରେ ଲୋକେ ଶିମୀୟିକୁ ଜଣାଇ କହିଲେ, “ଦେଖ, ତୁମ୍ଭ ଦାସମାନେ ଗାଥ୍ ନଗରରେ ଅଛନ୍ତି।”
At the end of three years, two of Shimei’s slaves ran away to Achish, son of Maacah, king of Gath. They told Shimei, saying, “Behold, your slaves are in Gath.”
40 ତହୁଁ ଶିମୀୟି ଉଠି ଗର୍ଦ୍ଦଭ ସଜାଇ ଆପଣା ଦାସମାନଙ୍କୁ ଅନ୍ୱେଷଣ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ଗାଥ୍ ନଗରକୁ ଆଖୀଶ୍ ନିକଟକୁ ଗଲା; ପୁଣି, ଶିମୀୟି ଯାଇ ଗାଥ୍ରୁ ଆପଣା ଦାସମାନଙ୍କୁ ଆଣିଲା।
Shimei arose, saddled his donkey, and went to Gath to Achish to seek his slaves; and Shimei went and brought his slaves from Gath.
41 ତହୁଁ ଶଲୋମନଙ୍କୁ ସମ୍ବାଦ ଦିଆଗଲା ଯେ, “ଶିମୀୟି ଯିରୂଶାଲମରୁ ଗାଥ୍କୁ ଯାଇଥିଲା, ପୁଣି, ଫେରି ଆସିଅଛି।”
Solomon was told that Shimei had gone from Jerusalem to Gath, and had come again.
42 ଏଥିରେ ରାଜା ଲୋକ ପଠାଇ ଶିମୀୟିକୁ ଡକାଇ ତାହାକୁ କହିଲେ, “ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଯେଉଁ ଦିନ ବାହାରି ଅନ୍ୟ କୌଣସି ସ୍ଥାନରେ ଭ୍ରମଣ କରିବ, ସେହି ଦିନ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ନିତାନ୍ତ ମରିବ, ‘ଏହା ନିଶ୍ଚୟ ଜାଣ, ମୁଁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ନାମରେ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଶପଥ କରାଇ ତୁମ୍ଭ ବିପକ୍ଷରେ କʼଣ ଏହି ସାକ୍ଷ୍ୟ ଦେଇ ନାହିଁ?’ ଆଉ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମୋତେ କହିଥିଲ, ‘ମୁଁ ଯେଉଁ କଥା ଶୁଣିଲି, ତାହା ଉତ୍ତମ।’
The king sent and called for Shimei, and said to him, “Didn’t I adjure you by the LORD and warn you, saying, ‘Know for certain that on the day you go out and walk anywhere else, you shall surely die’? You said to me, ‘The saying that I have heard is good.’
43 ତେବେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଶପଥ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଦତ୍ତ ମୋହର ଆଜ୍ଞା କାହିଁକି ପାଳନ ନ କଲ?”
Why then have you not kept the oath of the LORD and the commandment that I have instructed you with?”
44 ରାଜା ଆହୁରି ଶିମୀୟିକୁ କହିଲେ, “ମୋହର ପିତା ଦାଉଦଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ତୁମ୍ଭର କୃତ ଯେସକଳ ଦୁଷ୍ଟତା ବିଷୟ ତୁମ୍ଭ ମନ ପ୍ରମାଣ ଦିଏ, ତାହା ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଜାଣୁଅଛ; ଏହେତୁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ଦୁଷ୍ଟତା ତୁମ୍ଭ ନିଜ ମସ୍ତକରେ ବର୍ତ୍ତାଇବେ।
The king said moreover to Shimei, “You know in your heart all the wickedness that you did to David my father. Therefore the LORD will return your wickedness on your own head.
45 ମାତ୍ର, ଶଲୋମନ ରାଜା ଆଶୀର୍ବାଦ ପ୍ରାପ୍ତ ହେବ ଓ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କ ସିଂହାସନ ଅନନ୍ତକାଳ ସ୍ଥିରୀକୃତ ହେବ।”
But King Solomon will be blessed, and David’s throne will be established before the LORD forever.”
46 ଏଉତ୍ତାରେ ରାଜା ଯିହୋୟାଦାର ପୁତ୍ର ବନାୟକୁ ଆଜ୍ଞା କରନ୍ତେ, ସେ ଯାଇ ତାହାକୁ ଆକ୍ରମଣ କଲା, ତହୁଁ ସେ ମଲା। ଏହିରୂପେ ଶଲୋମନଙ୍କ ହସ୍ତରେ ରାଜ୍ୟ ଦୃଢ଼ ହେଲା।
So the king commanded Benaiah the son of Jehoiada; and he went out, and fell on him, so that he died. The kingdom was established in the hand of Solomon.
