यर्मिया 15

1 तब परमप्रभुले मलाई भन्‍नुभयो, “मोशा र शमूएल मेरो सामु खडा भए तापनि म यी मानिसका पक्षमा खडा हुन्‍नँ । तिनीहरूलाई टाढा जानलाई मेरो सामुबाट तिनीहरूलाई हटाइदे ।

And the Lord said to me, Though Moses and Samuel stood before my face, my soul could not be toward them: dismiss this people, and let them go forth.

2 यस्‍तो हुनेछ, तिनीहरूले तँलाई यसो भन्‍नेछन्, 'हामी कहाँ जाने?' तब तैंले तिनीहरूलाई भन्‍नुपर्छ, 'परमप्रभु यसो भन्‍नुहुन्छः मृत्युको निम्ति साँचिएकाहरू मृत्युमा जानुपर्छ । तरवारको निम्ति साँचिएकाहरू तरवारमा जानुपर्छ । अनिकालको निम्ति साँचिएकाहरू अनिकालमा जानुपर्छ, र निर्वासनको निम्ति साँचिएकाहरू निर्वासनमा जानुपर्छ ।'

And it shall be, if they say to you, Whither shall we go forth? then you shall say to them, Thus says the Lord; As many as are for death, to death; and as many as are for famine, to famine; and as many as are for the sword, to the sword; and as many as are for captivity, to captivity.

3 म तिनीहरूलाई चारवटा समूहमा विभाजन गर्नेछु, यो परमप्रभुको घोषणा हो— केहीलाई मार्न तरवारलाई, केहीलाई घिसार्न कुकुरहरूलाई, केहीलाई स्वाहा पार्न र नष्‍ट पार्नलाई आकाशका चराहरू र जमिनका पशुहरूलाई ।

And I will punish them with four kinds [of death], says the Lord, the sword to kill, and the dogs to tear, and the wild beasts of the earth, and the birds of the sky to devour and destroy.

4 यहूदाका राजा हिजकियाहका छोरा मनश्शेले यरूशलेममा जे गरेका थिए, त्यसैको कारणले म तिनीहरूलाई पृथ्वीका सबै राज्यका लागि एक डरलाग्दो कुरो तुल्याउनेछु ।

And I will deliver them up for distress to all the kingdoms of the earth, because of Manasses son of Ezekias king of Juda, for all that he did in Jerusalem.

5 ए यरूशलेम, तँलाई कसले दया देखाउने छ? तेरो निम्ति कसले शोक गर्नेछ?

Who will spare you, O Jerusalem? and who will fear for you? or who will turn back [to ask] for your welfare?

6 तैंले मलाई त्यागेको छस्, यो परमप्रभुको घोषणा हो— तँ मबाट फर्केर गएको छस् । त्यसैले म आफ्‍नो हातले तँलाई प्रहार गर्नेछु र तलाई नाश पार्नेछु । तँलाई दया देखाउँदा-देखाउँदा म थकित भइसकेको छु ।

You have turned away from me, says the Lord, you will go back: therefore I will stretch out my hand, and will destroy you, and will no more spare them.

7 त्यसैल म तिनीहरूलाई देशका मूल ढोकाहरूमा नाङ्लोले निफन्‍नेछु । म तिनीहरूलाई शोकमा पार्नेछु । मेरा मानिसहरू आफ्ना मार्गबाट नफर्कने भएकाले म तिनीहरूलाई नष्‍ट पार्नेछु ।

And I will completely scatter them; in the gates of my people they are bereaved of children: they have destroyed my people because of their iniquities.

8 म तिनीहरूका विधवाहरूको सङ्ख्या समुद्रतटको बालुवाभन्दा धेरै बनाउनेछु । युवाहरूका आमाहरूको विरुद्धमा म दिउँसै विनाशक पठाउनेछु । शोक र त्रासलाई तिनीहरूमा अकस्मात् आउने म बनाउनेछु ।

Their widows have been multiplied more than the sand of the sea: I have brought young men against the mother, [even] distress at noon-day: I have suddenly cast upon her trembling and anxiety.

9 सात जना सन्तान जन्माउने आमा उजाड हुनेछे । त्‍यसले उफ् उफ् गर्नेछे । दिन छँदै त्यसको घाम अस्ताउनेछ । त्यो लज्‍जित र अपमानित हुनेछे, किनकि बाँकी रहेकाहरूलाई म तिनीहरूका शत्रुहरूको उपस्थितिमा तरवारलाई दिनेछु, यो परमप्रभुको घोषणा हो ।”

She that bore seven is spent; her soul has fainted under trouble; her sun is gone down while it is yet noon; she is ashamed and disgraced: I will give the remnant of them to the sword before their enemies.

10 हे मेरी आमा, मलाई धिक्‍कार छ! किनकि तपाईंले मलाई जन्म दिनुभयो, म जो देशैभरि तर्क र विवादको मानिस हुँ । मैले ऋण दिएको छैनँ, न कसैले मलाई ऋण दिएको छ, तर तिनीहरू सबैले मलाई श्राप दिन्छन् ।

Woe is me, [my] mother! you have born me as some man of strife, and at variance with the whole earth; I have not helped [others], nor has any one helped me; my strength has failed among them that curse me.

11 परमप्रभुले भन्‍नुभयो, “के म भलाइको लागि तँलाई छुटानेछैनँ र? निश्‍चय नै सङ्कष्‍ट र विपत्तिको समयमा म तेरा शत्रुहरूलाई मदतको निम्ति तँसित बिन्ती गर्न लगाउनेछु ।

Be it so, Lord, in their prosperity; surely I stood before you in the time of their calamities, and in the time of their affliction, for [their] good against the enemy.

12 के कसैले फलामलाई टुक्रा-टुक्रा पार्न सक्छ? खास गरी, उत्तरबाट आउने काँसा मिसिएको फलामलाई?

Will iron be known? whereas your strength is a brazen covering.

13 म तेरा शत्रुहरूलाई तेरा धन-सम्पत्ति र खजाना सित्तैंमा लुटको मालको रूपमा दिनेछु । तेरा सबै सिमानभित्र गरिएका तेरा सबै पापको कारणले म यसो गर्नेछु ।

Yes, I will give your treasures for a spoil as a recompence, because of all your sins and [that] in all your borders.

14 त्यसपछि तैंले नचिन्‍ने देशमा म तँलाई तेरा शत्रुहरूको सेवा गर्न लगाउनेछु, किनकि तेरो विरुद्धमा मेरो रिसमा आगो दन्कने छ ।”

And I will enslave you to your enemies round about, in a land which you have not known; for a fire has been kindled out of my wrath; it shall burn upon you.

15 हे परमप्रभु, तपाईं जान्‍नुहुन्छ । मलाई सम्झनुहोस्, र सहायता गर्नुहोस् । मलाई सतावट गर्नेहरूको विरुद्धमा मेरो पक्षमा बदला लिनुहोस् । तपाईं धैर्यवान् हुनुहुन्छ, तर मलाई टाढा लाने अनुमति तिनीहरूलाई नदिनुहोस् । तपाईंको निम्‍ति मैले निन्दा भोग्छु भनी जान्‍नुहोस् ।

O Lord, remember me, and visit me, and vindicate me before them that persecute me; do not bear long with them; know how I have met with reproach for your sake, from those who set at nothing your words;

16 तपाईंका वचनहरू भेट्टाइएका छन्, र मैले ती खाएँ । तपाईंका वचनहरू मेरो लागि रमाहट बने, र मेरो हृदयको आनन्द बने, किनकि हे सर्वशक्तिमान् परमप्रभु परमेश्‍वर म तपाईंको नाउँ लिन्‍छु ।

consume them; and your word shall be to me for the joy and gladness of my heart: for your name has been called upon me, O Lord Almighty.

17 म उत्सव मनाउने वा रमाहट गर्नेहरूका बिचमा बसिनँ । तपाईंको शक्तिशाली हातको कारणले म एकान्तमा बसेँ, किनकि तपाईंले मलाई क्रोधले भर्नुभयो ।

I have not sat in the assembly of them as they mocked, but I feared because of your power: I sat alone, for I was filled with bitterness.

18 किन मेरो पिडा निरन्‍तर छ, र मेरो चोट निको हुन नमान्‍ने, निको नहुने भएको छ? के तपाईं मेरो लागि झुक्‍किने खोला, सुकेर जाने खोलाजस्तो बन्‍नुहुने छ र?

Why do they that grieve me prevail against me? my wound is severe; whence shall I be healed? it is indeed become to me as deceitful water, that has no faithfulness.

19 त्यसकारण परमप्रभुले यसो भन्‍नुभयो, “ए यर्मिया, तैंले पश्‍चात्ताप गरिस् भने म तँलाई पुनर्स्थापित गर्नेछु, र तँ मेरो सामु खडा हुनेछस् र मेरो सेवा गर्नेछस् । किनकि तैंले मूर्ख थोकहरूलाई मुल्यवान् थोकहरूबाट अलग गरिस् भने तँ मेरो मुखजस्तै हुनेछस् । मानिसहरू तँकहाँ फर्केर आउने छन्, तर तँ आफै भने तिनीहरूकहाँ जानुहुँदैन ।

Therefore thus says the Lord, If you will return, then will I restore you, and you shall stand before my face: and if you will bring forth the precious from the worthless, you shall be as my mouth: and they shall return to you; but you shall not return to them.

20 यी मानिसको निम्ति म तँलाई छेड्नै नसकिने काँसाको पर्खालजस्तै बनाउनेछु, र तिनीहरूले तेरो विरुद्धमा युद्ध छेड्नेछन् । तर तिनीहरूले तँलाई पराजित गर्नेछैनन्, किनकि तँलाई बचाउन र छुटकारा दिन म तँसितै हुन्‍छु, यो परमप्रभुको घोषणा हो ।

And I will make you to this people as a strong brazen wall; and they shall fight against you, but they shall by no means prevail against you;

21 किनकि म तँलाई दुष्‍टहरूको हातबाट बचाउनेछु, र निर्दयीको हातबाट छुटकारा दिनेछु ।”

for I am with you to save you, and to deliver you out of the hand of wicked [men]; and I will ransom you out of the hand of pestilent [men].
