इजकिएल 33

1 तब परमप्रभुको वचन यसो भनेर मकहाँ आयो,

The word of the LORD came to me, saying,

2 “ए मानिसको छोरा, तेरा मानिसहरूलाई यो घोषणा गर् । तिनीहरूलाई यसो भन्, ‘जब म आफ्नो तरवारलाई कुनै देशको विरुद्धमा उठाउँछु, तब त्यस देशका मानिसहरूले आफूमध्ये एक जनालाई लिन्‍छन् र उसलाई आफ्‍ना रक्षक बनाउँछन् ।

"Son of man, speak to the children of your people, and tell them, 'When I bring the sword on a land, and the people of the land take a man from among them, and set him for their watchman;

3 त्यसले देशमा तरवार आउँदा त्‍यसलाई हेर्छ, र मानिसहरूलाई सजग गराउन आफ्नो तुरही फुक्छ!

if, when he sees the sword come on the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people;

4 मानिसहरूले तुरहीको आवाज सुने तर पनि ध्यान दिंदैनन्, र तरवार आउँछ र तिनीहरूलाई मार्छ भने, ती प्रत्‍येकको रगत आफ्‍नै शिरमा पर्नेछ ।

then whoever hears the sound of the trumpet, and doesn't take warning, if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be on his own head.

5 कसैले तुरहीको आवाज सुन्‍छ र ध्यान दिंदैन भने, त्यसको रगतको जिम्मेवार त्यो आफै हुनेछ । तर त्यसले ध्यान दिन्छ भने त्यसले आफ्नो ज्यान बचाउनेछ ।

He heard the sound of the trumpet, and didn't take warning; his blood shall be on him; whereas if he had taken warning, he would have delivered his soul.

6 तर त्यो रक्षकले तरवार आउँदै गरेको देख्‍छ, तर त्‍यसले तुरही फुक्‍दैन, जसको कारणले मानिसहरूलाई सजग पारिंदैन, र तरवार आउँछ र कसैको जीवन लिन्‍छ भने, त्यो मानिस आफ्नै पापमा मर्छ, तर त्यसको रगतको सटो म त्‍यो रक्षकबाट लिनेछु ।’

But if the watchman sees the sword come, and doesn't blow the trumpet, and the people aren't warned, and the sword comes, and take any person from among them; he is taken away in his iniquity, but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand.'

7 अब, ए मानिसको छोरा, मैले तँलाई नै इस्राएलको घरानाको निम्‍ति रक्षक बनाएको छु । तैंले मेरो मुखबाट वचन सुन्‍नेछस् र तिनीहरूलाई मेरो तर्फबाट चेतावनी दिनेछस् ।

"So you, son of man, I have set you a watchman to the house of Israel; therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.

8 मैले दुष्‍ट मानिसलाई भनें ‘ए दुष्‍ट मानिस, तँ निश्‍चय नै मर्नेछस् ।’ तर त्यो दुष्‍ट मानिसलाई सजग गराउनलाई त्यसको चालको बारेमा तैंले त्यसलाई भनिनस् भने, त्यो दुष्‍ट मानिस आफ्नो पापमा मर्नेछ, तर त्यसको रगतको साटो म तँबाट लिनेछु ।

When I tell the wicked, 'O wicked man, you shall surely die,' and you do not speak to warn the wicked from his way; that wicked man shall die in his iniquity, but his blood will I require at your hand.

9 तर तैंले त्यो दुष्‍ट मानिस उसको दुष्‍ट चालको बारेमा बनिस् ताकि त्‍यसबाट त्‍यो फर्किन सकोस्, र त्यो आफ्नो चालबाट फर्केन भने, त्यो आफ्नो पापमा मर्नेछ, तर तँ आफूले आफ्नो प्राण बचाउनेछस् ।

Nevertheless, if you warn the wicked of his way to turn from it, and he doesn't turn from his way; he shall die in his iniquity, but you have delivered your soul.

10 यसैले, ए मानिसको छोरो, इस्राएलको घरानालाई भन्, ‘तिमीहरू यसो भन्छौ, “हाम्रा अपराधहरू र पापहरू हामीमाथि आएका छन्, र हामी तीनमा सडिरहेका छौं! हामी कसरी बाँच्‍न सक्छौं?”’

"You, son of man, tell the house of Israel: 'Thus you speak, saying, "Our transgressions and our sins are on us, and we pine away in them; how then can we live?"'

11 तिनीहरूलाई भन्, ‘यो परमप्रभु परमेश्‍वरको घोषणा हो, म जिउँदो भएको हुनाले, म दुष्‍टहरूको मृत्युमा प्रसन्‍न हुन्‍नँ, किनकि दुष्‍टले आफ्नो चालबाट पश्‍चात्ताप गरी फर्कन्छ भने त्यो बाँच्ने छ! पश्‍चात्ताप गर् । तेरा दुष्‍ट चालबाट पश्‍चात्ताप गर् । ए इस्राएलको घराना तँ किन मर्ने?’

Tell them, 'As I live,' says the LORD, 'I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn, turn from your evil ways; for why will you die, house of Israel?'

12 यसैले, ए मानिसको छोरा, तेरा मानिसहरूलाई भन्, ‘धर्मी मानिसले पाप गर्छ भने त्यसको धार्मिकताले त्यसलाई बचाउनेछैन! दुष्‍ट मानिसले आफ्नो पापबाट पश्‍चात्ताप गर्छ भने त्यसको दुष्‍टताले त्यो नष्‍ट हुनेछैन! किन धर्मी मानिसले पाप गर्छ भने त्यो आफ्नो धार्मिकताको कारणले बच्नेछैन ।

"You, son of man, tell the children of your people, 'The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his disobedience; and as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turns from his wickedness; neither shall he who is righteous be able to live thereby in the day that he sins.'

13 मैले धर्मीलाई यसो भनें, “त्‍यो निश्‍चय नै बाँच्नेछस्!” र त्यसले आफ्नो धार्मिकतामा विश्‍वास गरेर अन्याय गर्छ भने, त्यसको कुनै पनि धार्मिकतालाई म सम्झना गर्नेछैनँ । त्यसले गरेको दुष्‍टताको कारणले त्यो मर्नेछ ।

When I say to the righteous "He shall surely live," but he trusts in his righteousness and commits iniquity, none of his righteous deeds shall be remembered; but he shall die because of the iniquity he has committed.

14 यसैले मैले दुष्‍टलाई यसो भनें, “तँ निश्‍चय नै मर्नेछस्”, तर त्‍तसपछि त्यसले आफ्नो पापको पश्‍चात्ताप गर्छ र न्यायपूर्ण र ठिक काम गर्छ भने,

Again, when I say to the wicked, 'You shall surely die'; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right;

15 र त्यसले ऋणको निम्ति आफूले दुष्‍टतापूर्वक राखेको धितो फिर्ता गर्छ, वा त्यसले चोरेको कुरालाई फिर्ता गर्छ, र जीवन दिने विधिहरू पालना गर्छ र फेरि पाप गर्दैन भने, तब त्यो निश्‍चय नै जिउनेछ । त्यो मर्नेछैन ।

if the wicked restore the pledge, give again that which he had taken by robbery, walk in the statutes of life, committing no iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die.

16 त्यसले गरेका कुनै पनि पापको सम्झना हुनेछैन । त्यसले न्यायपूर्ण र धार्मिक रूपमा काम गरेको छ र यसैले त्यो निश्‍चय नै जिउनेछ ।

None of his sins that he has committed shall be remembered against him: he has done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live.

17 तर तेरा मानिसहरू भन्छन्, “परमप्रभुको चाल न्यायपूर्ण छैन!” तर तिमीहरूका चाल पो न्यायपूर्ण छैनन्!

"Yet the children of your people say, 'The way of the LORD is not just': but as for them, their way is not just.

18 जब कुनै धर्मी मानिस आफ्नो धार्मिकताबाट तर्केर पाप गर्छ, तब त्यो त्यही पापमा मर्नेछ!

When the righteous turns from his righteousness, and commits iniquity, he shall even die in it.

19 जब कुनै दुष्‍ट मानिस आफ्नो दुष्‍टताबाट फर्केर न्यायपूर्ण र धर्मी काम गर्छ भने, यी कुराहरूका कारणले त्यो जिउनेछ!

When the wicked turns from his wickedness, and does that which is lawful and right, he shall live thereby.

20 तर तिमीहरू भन्छौ, “परमप्रभुको चाल न्यायपूर्ण छैन!” ए इस्राएलको घराना, म तिमीहरूको चालअनुसार नै हरेकको न्याय गर्नेछु!’”

Yet you say, 'The way of the LORD is not just.' House of Israel, I will judge every one of you after his ways."

21 हाम्रो निर्वासनको बाह्रौं वर्षको दशौं महिनाको पाँचौं दिनमा, यरूशलेमबाट एक जना भगुवा मकहाँ आयो र भन्यो, “त्यो सहरलाई कब्जा गरिएको छ!”

It happened in the twelfth year of our captivity, in the tenth month, in the fifth day of the month, that one who had escaped out of Jerusalem came to me, saying, "The city has been struck."

22 त्यो भगुवा आउनभन्दा अगिल्‍लो साँझमा परमप्रभुको हात ममाथि थियो, र बिहानीको झिसमिसेमा त्यो मकहाँ आउँदासम्म मेरो मुख खोलिएको थियो । यसैले मेरो मुख खोलियो । म फेरि चुप भइनँ!

Now the hand of the LORD had been on me in the evening, before he who was escaped came; and he had opened my mouth, until he came to me in the morning; and my mouth was opened, and I was no more mute.

23 त्यसपछि परमप्रभुको वचन यसो भनेर मकहाँ आयो,

The word of the LORD came to me, saying,

24 “ए मानिसको छोरो, इस्राएलको भूमिमा भग्‍नावशेषमा बसोबास गर्नेहरू यसो भन्दैछन्, ‘अब्राहम मात्र एक जना मानिस थिए, र उनले यो देश अधिकार गरे, तर हामीहरू धेरै जना छौं! यो देश हामीलाई सम्पत्तिको रूपमा दिइएको छ ।’

"Son of man, they who inhabit those waste places in the land of Israel speak, saying, 'Abraham was one, and he inherited the land: but we are many; the land is given us for inheritance.'

25 यसकारण तिनीहरूलाई भन्, ‘परमप्रभु परमेश्‍वर यसो भन्‍नुहुन्छ: तिमीहरू रगत खान्छौ, र तिमीहरू आफ्ना मुर्तिहरूतिर आफ्ना आँखा उठाउँछौ, अनि तिमीहरू मानिसहरूका रगत बगाउँछौ । के तिमीहरूले यस देशमाथि अधिकार गर्ने?

Therefore tell them, 'Thus says the LORD: "You eat with the blood, and lift up your eyes to your idols, and shed blood: and shall you possess the land?

26 तिमीहरू आफ्ना तरवारहरूमा भर परेका छौ र घिनलाग्दा कुरा गरेका छौ । हरेक मानिसले आफ्नो छिमेकीकी पत्‍नीलाई अशुद्ध पार्छ । के साँच्‍चै तिमीहरूले यस देशमाथि अधिकार गर्ने?’

You stand on your sword, you work abomination, and every one of you defiles his neighbor's wife: and shall you possess the land?"'

27 तैंले तिनीहरूलाई यस्तो भन्‍नू, ‘परमप्रभु परमेश्‍वर यस्तो भन्‍नुहुन्छ: जस्‍तो म जीवित छु, भग्‍नावशेषमा जिउनेहरू तरवारद्वारा मारिनेछन्, र मैदानमा भएकाहरूलाई म जीवित पशुहरूकहाँ आहराको रूपमा दिनेछु, र किल्लाहरू र गुफाहरूमा भएकाहरू महामारीले मर्नेछन् ।

"You shall tell them, 'Thus says the Lord GOD: "As I live, surely those who are in the waste places shall fall by the sword; and him who is in the open field will I give to the animals to be devoured; and those who are in the strongholds and in the caves shall die of the pestilence.

28 तब देशलाई म उजाड र त्रास तुल्याउनेछु, र त्यसको शक्तिको घमण्डको अन्त्य हुनेछ, किनकि इस्राएलका पर्वतहरू त्यागिनेछन्, र त्यहाँबाट भएर कोही पनि जानेछैन ।’

I will make the land a desolation and an astonishment; and the pride of her power shall cease; and the mountains of Israel shall be desolate, so that none shall pass through.

29 यसैले तिनीहरूले गरेका सबै घृणित कामका कारणले मैले देशलाई उजाड र बेकामको तुल्याएपछि तिनीहरूले म परमप्रभु हुँ भन्‍ने जान्‍नेछन् ।

Then shall they know that I am the LORD, when I have made the land a desolation and an astonishment, because of all their abominations which they have committed."'

30 यसैले, ए मानिसको छोरा, मन्‍दिरहरूका पर्खालहरू र ढोकाहरूका छेउमा तेरा मानिसहरू तेरो बारेमा कुरा गरिरहेका छन्, र हेरकले अर्को मानिस, र हरेक मानिसले आफ्नो भाइलाई यस्तो भन्छ, ‘जाऔं र परमप्रभुको मुखबाट निस्कने अगमवक्ताको वचन सुनौं!’

"As for you, son of man, the children of your people talk of you by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, everyone to his brother, saying, 'Please come and hear what is the word that comes forth from the LORD.'

31 यसैले मानिसहरूले सधैं गरेझैं धेरै जना तँकहाँ आउनेछन्, र तेरो अगि बस्‍नेछन् र तेरा वचनहरू सुन्‍नेछन्, तर तिनीहरूले ती पालना गर्नेछैनन् । तिनीहरूका मुखमा ठिक शब्दहरू छन्, तर तिनीहरूका हृदयहरू अन्यायपूर्ण फाइदाको पछि छन् ।

They come to you as the people come, and they sit before you as my people, and they hear your words, but do not do them; for with their mouth they show much love, but their heart goes after their gain.

32 किनकि तिनीहरूका निम्ति तँ मनपर्ने गीत, र बाजामा बजाइएको एउटा सुन्दर धुनझैं छस्, यसैले तिनीहरूका तेरा वचन सुन्‍नेछन्, तर तिनीहरू कसैले पनि ती पालना गर्नेछैनन् ।

Look, you are to them as a very lovely song of one who has a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument; for they hear your words, but they do not do them.

33 यसैकारण यी सबै कुरा हुँदा – हेर, त्यो हुन आउनेछ – तब तिनीहरूका बिचमा एउटा अगमवक्ता रहेछन् भनी तिनीहरूले जान्‍नेछन् ।”

When this comes to pass, (look, it comes), then shall they know that a prophet has been among them."
