व्यवस्था 7

1 परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्‍वरले तिमीहरूलाई तिमीहरूले अधिकार गर्ने देशमा ल्याउनुहुँदा उहाँले तिमीहरूकै सामु तिमीहरूभन्दा महान् र शक्तिशाली सात जाति हित्ती, गिर्गाशी, एमोरी, कनानी, परिज्‍जी, हिव्वी र यबूसीहरूलाई धपाउनुहुने छ ।

When the Lord your God takes you into the land where you are going, which is to be your heritage, and has sent out the nations before you, the Hittites and the Girgashites and the Amorites and the Canaanites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and stronger than you;

2 तिमीहरूले तिनीहरूलाई पराजित गर्दा परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्‍वरले नै तिनीहरूलाई तिमीहरूकहाँ सुम्पिदिनुहुने छ र तिमीहरूले तिनीहरूलाई पूर्ण रूपमा नष्‍ट गर्नू । तिनीहरूसित कुनै करार नबाँध्‍नू, र तिनीहरूलाई कृपा नदेखाउनू ।

And when the Lord has given them up into your hands and you have overcome them, give them up to complete destruction: make no agreement with them, and have no mercy on them:

3 तिनीहरूसित विवाहको कुनै बन्दोवस्त नमिलाउनू । तिमीहरूले आफ्ना छोरीहरू तिनीहरूका छोराहरूलाई नदिनू, र आफ्ना छोराहरूका निम्ति तिनीहरूका छोरीहरू नलिनू ।

Do not take wives or husbands from among them; do not give your daughters to their sons, or take their daughters for your sons.

4 किनकि तिनीहरूले तिमीहरूका छोराहरूले अरू देवी-देवताहरूलाई पुजून् भनेर मलाई पछ्याउनबाट तिनीहरूलाई तर्काउने छन् । त्यसैले परमप्रभुको क्रोध तिमीहरूको विरुद्धमा दन्कने छ, र उहाँले तत्काल तिमीहरूलाई नष्‍ट गर्नुहुने छ ।

For through them your sons will be turned from me to the worship of other gods: and the Lord will be moved to wrath against you and send destruction on you quickly.

5 तिनीहरूसित यसरी व्यवहार गर्नूः तिनीहरूका वेदीहरू भत्काइदिनू; तिनीहरूका ढुङ्गाका खम्बाहरू टुक्राटुक्रा पारिदिनू; तिनीहरूका अशेरा देवीका खम्बाहरू काटेर ढालिदिनू र तिनीहरूका मूर्तिहरू आगोमा जलाइदिनू ।

But this is what you are to do to them: their altars are to be pulled down and their pillars broken, and their holy trees cut down and their images burned with fire.

6 किनकि तिमीहरू परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्‍वरका निम्ति अलग गरिएका जाति हौ । उहाँले तिमीहरूलाई पृथ्वीको धरातलमा भएका अन्य कुनै पनि जातिहरूभन्दा उहाँको जातिको रूपमा अधिकार हुन चुन्‍नुभएको छ ।

For you are a holy people to the Lord your God: marked out by the Lord your God to be his special people out of all the nations on the face of the earth.

7 अरू जातिहरूभन्दा तिमीहरू सङ्ख्यामा धेरै भएकाले परमप्रभुले तिमीहरूलाई प्रेम देखाउनुभएको होइन वा चुन्‍नुभएको होइन किनकि तिमीहरू सबै जातिभन्दा सङ्ख्यामा थोरै छौ ।

The Lord did not give you his love or take you for himself because you were more in number than any other people; for you were the smallest of the nations:

8 तर उहाँले तिमीहरूलाई प्रेम गर्नुहुने भएकोले र उहाँले तिमीहरूका पिता-पुर्खाहरूसित खानुभएको शपथ पुरा गर्ने इच्छा गर्नुभएकोले तिमीहरूलाई चुन्‍नुभएको हो ।

But because of his love for you, and in order to keep his oath to your fathers, the Lord took you out with the strength of his hand, making you free from the prison-house and from the hand of Pharaoh, king of Egypt.

9 त्यसकारण, परमप्रभुले तिमीहरूलाई शक्तिशाली हातले बाहिर ल्याउनुभएको छ, र दासत्वको घर अर्थात् मिश्रका राजा फारोको हातबाट छुटकारा दिलाउनुभएको छ । तसर्थ, परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्‍वर नै विश्‍वासयोग्य परमेश्‍वर हुनुहुन्छ जसले उहाँलाई प्रेम गर्ने र उहाँका आज्ञाहरू मान्‍ने हजारौँ पुस्तासम्म आफ्ना करार पुरा गर्नुहुन्छ र विश्‍वासयोग्य हुनुहुन्छ भनी जान ।

Be certain, then, that the Lord your God is God; whose faith and mercy are unchanging, who keeps his word through a thousand generations to those who have love for him and keep his laws;

10 तर उहाँको अवहेलना गर्नेहरूलाई उहाँले बदला लिनुहुने छ वा तिनीहरूलाई नष्‍ट गर्नुहुने छ । उहाँको अवहेलना गर्नेहरू जोकसैप्रति पनि उहाँ सहनशील हुनुहुन्‍न । उहाँले त्यसको बदला लिनुहुने छ ।

Rewarding his haters to their face with destruction; he will have no mercy on his hater, but will give him open punishment.

11 त्यसकारण मैले तिमीहरूलाई दिएका आज्ञा र विधिविधानहरू पालन गर र मान ।

So keep the orders and the laws and the decisions which I give you today and do them.

12 तिमीहरूले यी विधिविधानहरू सुनेर पालन गर्‍यौ भने परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्‍वरले तिमीहरूका पिता-पुर्खाहरूसित बाँध्‍नुभएको करार र विश्‍वसनियता उहाँले पुरा गर्नुहुने छ ।

And it will be, that if you give attention to these decisions and keep and do them, then the Lord will keep his agreement with you and his mercy, as he said in his oath to your fathers.

13 उहाँले तिमीहरूलाई प्रेम गर्नुहुने छ; आशिष् दिनुहुने छ र गुणात्मक रूपमा वृद्धि गराउनुहुने छ । तिमीहरूलाई दिन्छु भनी तिमीहरूका पिता-पुर्खाहरूसित प्रतिज्ञा गर्नुभएको देशमा उहाँले तिमीहरूको शरीरको फल, भूमिको फल, तिमीहरूको अन्‍न, तिमीहरूको नयाँ दाखमद्य, तिमीहरूको तेल, तिमीहरूको गाईवस्तु र तिमीहरूको बगाललाई वृद्धि गरी आशिष् दिनुहुने छ ।

And he will give you his love, blessing you and increasing you: he will send his blessing on the offspring of your body and the fruit of your land, your grain and your wine and your oil, the increase of your cattle and the young of your flock, in the land which by his oath to your fathers he undertook to give you.

14 अरू सबै जातिभन्दा तिमीहरू सुखि हुने छौ । तिमीहरूका बिचमा कोही पनि निसन्तान हुने छैन, र तिमीहरूका गाईवस्तुमध्ये एउटै पनि बैला हुने छैन ।

You will have greater blessings than any other people: no male or female among you or among your cattle will be without offspring.

15 परमप्रभुले तिमीहरूबाट सबै रोग लैजानुहुने छ । तिमीहरूले जानेका मिश्रका कुनै पनि खराब रोगहरू तिमीहरूमाथि आउने छैनन्, तर तिमीहरूलाई घृणा गर्नेहरूमाथि उहाँले ती ल्याउनुहुने छ ।

And the Lord will take away from you all disease, and will not put on you any of the evil diseases of Egypt which you have seen, but will put them on your haters.

16 परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्‍वरले तिमीहरूलाई दिनुहुने सबै जातिलाई नष्‍ट गर्नू, र तिनीहरूलाई दया नदेखाउनू । तिनीहरूका देवी-देवताको पुजा नगर्नू किनकि त्यो तिमीहरूका निम्ति पासो हुने छ ।

And you are to send destruction on all the peoples which the Lord your God gives into your hands; have no pity on them, and do not give worship to their gods; for that will be a cause of sin to you.

17 'यी जातिहरू सङ्ख्यामा हामीभन्दा धेरै भएकाले हामीले कसरी धपाउन सकौँला' भनी तिमीहरूले आफ्ना ह्रदयमा सोच्यौ भने पनि

If you say in your hearts, These nations are greater in number than we are: how are we to take their land from them?

18 तिनीहरूदेखि नडराओ । परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्‍वरले फारो र सबै मिश्रीलाई के गर्नुभयो भनी तिमीहरूले याद राख्‍नू ।

Have no fear of them, but keep well in mind what the Lord your God did to Pharaoh and to all Egypt;

19 भयानक दुःखकष्‍ट, चिन्ह, आश्‍चर्य, शक्तिशाली हात र फैलिएको पाखुरा जसद्वारा परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्‍वरले तिमीहरूलाई ल्याउनुभयो, सो तिमीहरूका आँखाले देख्यौ । तिमीहरू डराएका ती सबै जातिलाई पनि परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्‍वरले त्यसै गर्नुहुने छ ।

The great punishments which your eyes saw, and the signs and the wonders and the strong hand and the stretched-out arm, by which the Lord your God took you out: so will the Lord your God do to all the peoples who are the cause of your fears.

20 यसबाहेक, परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्‍वरले तिनीहरू बाँकी रहुञ्‍जेलसम्म र तिमीहरूको उपस्थितिबाट नष्‍ट नहोस् भनी तिनीहरू लुकेसम्म तिनीहरूका बिचमा अरिङ्गाल पठाउनुहुने छ ।

And the Lord will send a hornet among them, till all the rest who have kept themselves safe from you in secret places have been cut off.

21 तिनीहरूदेखि नडराओ किनकि परमप्रभु परमेश्‍वर तिमीहरूका बिचमा हुनुहुन्छ जो महान् र भययोग्य हुनुहुन्छ ।

Have no fear of them: for the Lord your God is with you, a great God greatly to be feared.

22 परमप्रभु परमेश्‍वरले तिमीहरूकै सामुन्‍ने तिनीहरूलाई अलिअलि गरेर धपाउनुहुने छ । तिमीहरूले तिनीहरूलाई एकै चोटि पराजित गर्ने छैनौ नत्रता जङ्गली जनावरहरू तिमीहरूका बिचमा धेरै हुने छन् ।

The Lord your God will send out the nations before you little by little; they are not to be rooted out quickly, for fear that the beasts of the field may be increased overmuch against you.

23 तर तिमीहरू तिनीहरूसित युद्ध गर्न जाँदा परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्‍वरले तिनीहरूमाथि तिमीहरूलाई विजयी तुल्याउनुहुने छ ।

But the Lord your God will give them up into your hands, overpowering them till their destruction is complete.

24 उहाँले तिनीहरूका राजाहरूलाई तिमीहरूको शक्तिमुनि ल्याउनुहुने छ र तिमीहरूले आकाशमुनि तिनीहरूका नाउँ मेटिदिने छौ । तिनीहरूलाई नष्‍ट नगरुञ्‍जेलसम्म कोही पनि तिमीहरूका सामु खडा हुन सक्दैन ।

He will give their kings into your hands, and you will put their names out of existence under heaven; there is not one of them who will not give way before you, till their destruction is complete.

25 खोपेर बनाइएका तिनीहरूका देवी-देवताहरूका प्रतिमूर्तिहरू जलाइदिनू । तिनलाई ढाक्‍ने सुनचाँदीको लोभ गरेर ती आफ्नो निम्ति नराख्‍नू । तिमीहरूले त्यसो गर्‍यौ भने तिमीहरू त्यसद्वारा पासोमा पर्ने छौ किनकि यो परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्‍वरको निम्ति घृणित कुरो हो ।

The images of their gods are to be burned with fire: have no desire for the gold and silver on them, and do not take it for yourselves, for it will be a danger to you: it is a thing disgusting to the Lord your God:

26 तिमीहरूका घरमा कुनै पनि घृणित वस्तु ल्याएर त्यसको पुजा गर्न नथाल्नू । त्यसलाई पूर्ण रूपमा घृणा गर्नू र तिरस्कार गर्नू किनकि यो विनाशको निम्ति अलग गरिएको हो ।

And you may not take a disgusting thing into your house, and so become cursed with its curse: but keep yourselves from it, turning from it with fear and hate, for it is a cursed thing.
