၁ ဓမ္မရာဇဝင် 1

1 ၁ ဧဖရတ် မြို့သားဇုဖ ၊ တောဟူ ၊ ဧလိဟူ ၊ ယေရောဟံ မှ ဆင်းသက်၍ ဧဖရိမ် တောင် ပေါ်မှာ ရာမသိမ် ဇုဖိမ်မြို့၌နေသောဧလကာန အမည် ရှိသောသူတယောက် ရှိ ၏။

There was a man of Armathaim Sipha, of mount Ephraim, and his name [was] Helkana, a son of Jeremeel the son of Elias the son of Thoke, in Nasib Ephraim.

2 ၂ ထိုသူ သည် မယား နှစ် ယောက်ရှိ၏။ တယောက် ကား၊ ဟန္န ၊ တယောက်ကား ပေနိန္န အမည် ရှိ၏။ ပေနိန္န ၌ သားသမီး ရှိ ၏။ ဟန္န ၌ မ ရှိ။

And he [had] two wives; the name of the one [was] Anna, and the name of the second Phennana. And Phennana had children, but Anna had no child.

3 ၃ ဧလကာနသည် ကောင်းကင်ဗိုလ်ခြေ အရှင်ထာဝရဘုရား ကို ကိုးကွယ် ၍ ယဇ် ပူဇော်ခြင်းငှါ ၊ မိမိ နေရာ မြို့ မှ ရှိလော မြို့သို့ နှစ် တိုင်းသွား မြဲရှိ၏။ ထာဝရဘုရား ၏ ယဇ်ပုရောဟိတ် ဧလိ ၏သား ဟောဖနိ နှင့် ဖိနဟတ် သည် ရှိလောမြို့၌ နေသတည်း။

And the man went up from year to year from his city, from Armathaim, to worship and sacrifice to the Lord God of Sabaoth at Selom: and [there were] Heli and his two sons Ophni and Phinees, the priests of the Lord.

4 ၄ ဧလကာန သည် ယဇ် ပူဇော်အချိန် ရောက် သောအခါ ၊ မယား ပေနိန္န နှင့် သူ ၏ သား သမီး အပေါင်း တို့အား ဝေမျှ ၏။

And the day came, and Helkana sacrificed, and gave portions to his wife Phennana and her children.

5 ၅ ဟန္န ကိုချစ် သောကြောင့် နှစ်ဆသောအဘို့ ကိုပေး ၏။ သို့ရာတွင် ထာဝရဘုရား သည် ဟန္န အား သား ဘွားသောအခွင့်ကိုပေးတော်မမူ။

And to Anna he gave a prime portion, because she had no child, only Helkana loved Anna more than the other; but the Lord [had] closed her womb.

6 ၆ ထိုသို့ ထာဝရဘုရား သည် အခွင့်ကိုပေးတော်မမူသောကြောင့် ၊ ဟန္န စိတ် ဆိုးညစ်အောင် ရန်သူ သည် အလွန်နှောင့်ယှက် တတ်၏။

For the Lord gave her no child in her affliction, and according to the despondency of her affliction; and she was dispirited on this account, that the Lord shut up her womb so as not to give her a child.

7 ၇ နှစ်စဉ် မပြတ်ထာဝရဘုရား ၏ အိမ် တော်သို့ သွား သောအခါ ၊ ရန်သူနှောင့်ရှက် သဖြင့် ဟန္နသည် အစာမ စား နိုင်၊ ငို လျက် နေတတ်၏။

So she did year by year, in going up to the house of the Lord; and she was dispirited, and wept, and did not eat.

8 ၈ သူ ၏ ခင်ပွန်း ဧလကာန က၊ ဟန္န အဘယ်ကြောင့် ငို သနည်း။ အဘယ်ကြောင့် မ စား ဘဲနေသနည်း။ အဘယ်ကြောင့် စိတ် ညှိုးငယ် သနည်း။ သား တကျိပ် ထက် သင် ၌ ငါ သာ၍ ကောင်းသည် မ ဟုတ် လော ဟုဆို ၏။

And Helkana her husband said to her, Anna: and she said to him, Here [am] I, my lord: and he said to her, What ails thee that thou weepest? and why dost thou not eat? and why does thy heart smite thee? [am] I not better to thee than ten children?

9 ၉ ရှိလော မြို့၌ စား သောက် ကြသောနောက် ၊ ယဇ်ပုရောဟိတ် ဧလိ သည် ထာဝရဘုရား ၏ အိမ် တော် တိုင် နား မှာ ထိုင် စဉ်၊

And Anna rose up after they had eaten in Selom, and stood before the Lord: and Heli the priest [was] on a seat by the threshold of the temple of the Lord.

10 ၁၀ ဟန္နသည် ညှိုးငယ် သောစိတ် နှင့် ထ၍၊ မျက်ရည် များစွာကျလျက် ထာဝရဘုရား ကို ဆုတောင်း သည် ကား၊

And she [was] very much grieved in spirit, and prayed to the Lord, and wept abundantly.

11 ၁၁ အိုကောင်းကင်ဗိုလ်ခြေ အရှင်ထာဝရဘုရား ၊ ကိုယ်တော် ၏ ကျွန် မကို မေ့လျော့ တော်မ မူဘဲ၊ ကိုယ်တော် ကျွန် မ၏ ဆင်းရဲ ခြင်းကို ကြည့်ရှု အောက်မေ့ သဖြင့် ၊ သား ယောက်ျား ကိုပေး သနားတော်မူလျှင်၊ သူ၏ ဆံပင်ရိတ်ခြင်းကို အလျှင်းမပြု။ တသက်လုံး ထာဝရဘုရား ၏ ကျွန်ဖြစ်စေခြင်းငှါကျွန်မအပ် ပါမည် ဟု သစ္စာ ဂတိပြုလေ၏။

And she vowed a vow to the Lord, saying, O Lord God of Sabaoth, if thou welt indeed look upon the humiliation of thine handmaid, and remember me, and give to thine handmaid a man-child, then will I indeed dedicate him to thee till the day of his death; and he shall drink no wine nor strong drink, and no razor shall come upon his head.

12 ၁၂ ဟန္နသည် ထာဝရဘုရား ရှေ့ တော်၌ ကြာမြင့် စွာ ဆုတောင်း စဉ်၊ ဧလိ သည် သူ ၏ နှုတ် ကို ကြည့် မှတ် လေ၏။

And it came to pass, while she was long praying before the Lord, that Heli the priest marked her mouth.

13 ၁၃ စိတ် နှလုံးနှင့် ဆုတောင်း ၍ နှုတ်ခမ်း လှုပ် သော်လည်း၊ စကား သံမ ထွက်သောကြောင့်၊ ယစ်မူး သည်ဟု ဧလိ ထင် လျက်၊

And she was speaking in her heart, and her lips moved, but her voice was not heard: and Heli accounted her a drunken woman.

14 ၁၄ သင်သည် အဘယ်မျှ ကာလပတ်လုံး ယစ်မူး လိမ့်မည်နည်း။ သင် ၏ စပျစ်ရည် ကို ပယ် ရှောင်လော့ ဟု ဆို ၏။

And the servant of Heli said to her, How long wilt thou be drunken? take away thy wine from thee, and go out from the presence of the Lord.

15 ၁၅ ဟန္န ကလည်း၊ မ ဟုတ်ပါအရှင်။ ကျွန်မ သည် စိတ်ညှိုးငယ် သော မိန်းမ ဖြစ်ပါ၏။ စပျစ်ရည် ကို မသောက် ပါ၊ သေရည် သေရက်ကို မ သောက် ပါ၊ ထာဝရဘုရား ရှေ့ တော်၌ စိတ် နှလုံးကို သွန်းလောင်း လျက် နေပါ၏။

And Anna answered and said, Nay, my lord, [I live] in a hard day, and I have not drunk wine or strong drink, and I pour out my soul before the Lord.

16 ၁၆ ကိုယ်တော် ၏ ကျွန် မကို အဓမ္မ မိန်းမ ဟူ၍ မ မှတ် ပါနှင့်။ မြည်တမ်း စရာ အကြောင်း၊ ဝမ်းနည်း စရာ အကြောင်းများ သည်ဖြစ်၍၊ ယခု တိုင်အောင် လျှောက် နေပါသည်ဟု ပြန် ပြောသော်၊ ဧလိ က၊ ငြိမ်ဝပ် စွာသွား လော့။

Count not thy handmaid for a pestilent woman, for by reason of the abundance of my importunity I have continued [my prayer] until now.

17 ၁၇ ယခု ဆုတောင်း သည်အတိုင်း၊ ဣသရေလ အမျိုး၏ ဘုရား သခင်ပေး သနားတော်မူပါစေသောဟု မြွက်ဆို ၏။

And Heli answered and said to her, Go in peace: the God of Israel give thee all thy petition, which thou hast asked of him.

18 ၁၈ ဟန္နကလည်း၊ ကိုယ်တော် ၏ ကျွန် မသည် ရှေ့ တော်၌ မျက်နှာ ရပါစေသောဟု လျှောက် ပြီးမှ ၊ ခြားနားသော မျက်နှာ နှင့် သွား ၍ အစာစား လေ၏။

And she said, Thine handmaid has found favour in thine eyes: and the woman went her way, and entered into her lodging, and ate and drank with her husband, and her countenance was no more sad.

19 ၁၉ ထိုသူတို့သည် နံနက် စောစောထ ၍ ထာဝရဘုရား ရှေ့ တော်၌ ကိုးကွယ် ပြီးလျှင် ၊ ရာမ မြို့မှာရှိသော မိမိ တို့အိမ် သို့ ပြန် သွားကြ၏။ ထိုအခါ ဧလကာန သည် မယား ဟန္န နှင့် ဆက်ဆံ ၍ ထာဝရဘုရား အောက်မေ့ တော်မူသဖြင့်၊

And they rise early in the morning, and worship the Lord, and they go their way: and Helkana went into his house at Armathaim, and knew his wife Anna; and the Lord remembered her, and she conceived.

20 ၂၀ ဟန္န သည် ပဋိသန္ဓေ ယူ၍ ကာလ အချိန်စေ့ သောအခါ ၊ သား ယောက်ျားကို ဘွားမြင် ပြီးလျှင် ၊ ထိုသားကို ထာဝရဘုရား ထံ၌ဆုတောင်း သောကြောင့် ၊ ရှမွေလ အမည် ဖြင့် မှည့် လေ၏။

And it came to pass when the time was come, that she brought forth a son, and called his name Samuel, and said, Because I asked him of the Lord God of Sabaoth.

21 ၂၁ ဧလကာန သည် အိမ်သူ အိမ်သားအပေါင်း တို့နှင့်အတူနှစ်စဉ် ပြုရသော ယဇ် ကို၎င်း၊ သစ္စာ ဂတိ နှင့်ဆိုင်သော ပူဇော်သက္ကာကို၎င်း၊ ထာဝရဘုရား အား ပူဇော် ခြင်းငှါ တက် သွားသောအခါ -၊

And the man Helkana and all his house went up to offer in Selom the yearly sacrifice, and his vows, and all the tithes of his land.

22 ၂၂ ဟန္န က၊ နို့ နှင့်ကွာပြီးမှ သူငယ် ကို ဆောင် သွားပါမည်။ ထိုအခါ သူသည် ထာဝရဘုရား ရှေ့ တော်သို့ ရောက် ၍ အမြဲ နေ ရလိမ့်မည်ဟုဆို လျှင်၊

But Anna did not go up with him, for she said to her husband, [I will not go up] until the child goes up, when I have weaned him, and he shall be presented before the Lord, and he shall abide there continually.

23 ၂၃ ခင်ပွန်း ဧလကာန က၊ စိတ် ရှိသည် အတိုင်းပြု လော့။ နို့ နှင့်မကွာမှီတိုင်အောင် နေ လော့။ ထာဝရဘုရား ၏ ဂတိ တော်သာ တည် ပါစေသောဟု ဝန်ခံ၍၊ မယားသည် သူငယ် ကို နို့ တိုက်လျက် နို့ မကွာမှီတိုင်အောင် မသွားဘဲနေ ၏။

And Helkana her husband said to her, Do that which is good in thine eyes, abide still until thou shalt have weaned him; but may the Lord establish that which comes out of thy mouth: and the woman tarried, and suckled her son until she had weaned him.

24 ၂၄ နို့ ကွာပြီးမှ၊ အသက်သုံး နှစ်ရှိသောနွားတကောင်၊ မုန့်ညက် တ ဧဖာ ၊ စပျစ်ရည် တဘူးနှင့်တကွသူငယ်ကို ဆောင် သွား၍၊ ရှိလော မြို့၌ ထာဝရဘုရား ၏ အိမ် တော်သို့ ရောက်လေ၏။ ထိုအခါ သူငယ် သည် အသက် နုသေး၏။

And she went up with him to Selom with a calf of three years old, and loaves, and an ephah of fine flour, and a bottle of wine: and she entered into the house of the Lord in Selom, and the child with them.

25 ၂၅ နွား ကိုသတ် ၍ သူငယ် ကို ဧလိ ထံသို့ သွင်း လျက်၊ ဟန္နက၊ ကျွန်မ၏သခင်၊

And they brought him before the Lord; and his father slew his offering which he offered from year to year to the Lord; and he brought near the child, and slew the calf; and Anna the mother of the child brought him to Heli.

26 ၂၆ ကိုယ်တော် အသက် ရှင်သည်အတိုင်း၊ ကျွန်မ သည် ယမန်တခါ ဤ အရပ်၌ ကိုယ်တော် အနား မှာ ရပ် လျက် ဆုတောင်း သော မိန်းမ ဖြစ်ပါ၏။

And she said, I pray thee, my lord, as thy soul liveth, I [am] the woman that stood in thy presence with thee while praying to the Lord.

27 ၂၇ ထိုအခါ ဤ သူငယ် ကို ရမည်အကြောင်းဆုတောင်း ပါ၏။ တောင်း သည်အတိုင်း ထာဝရဘုရား သည် ပေး သနားတော်မူပြီ။

For this child I prayed; and the Lord has given me my request that I asked of him.

28 ၂၈ ထိုကြောင့် ကျွန်မ သည် သူ့ ကို ထာဝရဘုရား အား ငှါး ပါပြီ။ သူ သည် တသက်လုံး ထာဝရဘုရား ထံ တော်၌ အငှါး ခံ၍ နေ ရပါမည်သခင်ဟု လျှောက်ပြီးမှ ၊ ထို အရပ်၌ ထာဝရဘုရား ကို ကိုးကွယ် ကြ၏။

And I lend him to the Lord all his days that he lives, a loan to the Lord: and she said,
