ईयोब 41

1 १ तुला लिव्याथानाला गळ टाकून पकडता येईल का? तुला त्याची जीभ दोरीने बांधता येईल का?

But will you catch the serpent with a hook, and put a halter about his nose?

2 २ तुला लिव्याथानाच्या नाकातून दोरी घालून त्यास वेसण घालता येईल का? किंवा त्याच्या जबड्यात गळ घालता येईल का?

Or will you fasten a ring in his nostril, and bore his lip with a clasp?

3 ३ लिव्याथान तुझ्याकडे सोडून देण्यासाठी याचना करील का? तो तुझ्याशी मृदू शब्दात बोलेल का?

Will he address you with a petition? softly, with the voice of a suppliant?

4 ४ लिव्याथान तुझ्याशी करार करून जन्मभर तुझा दास होऊन राहील का?

And will he make a covenant with you? and will you take him for a perpetual servant?

5 ५ तू पक्ष्याशी जसा खेळशील तसा लिव्याथानाशी खेळशील का? तू त्यास दोरीने बांधशील का? तुझ्या मुली त्याच्याशी खेळू शकतील काय?

And will you play with him as with a bird? or bind him as a sparrow for a child?

6 ६ मच्छीमार तुझ्याकडून लिव्याथानाला विकत घेण्याचा प्रयत्न करतील का? ते त्याचे तुकडे करून ते व्यापाऱ्यांना विकण्याचा प्रयत्न करतील का?

And do the nations feed upon him, and the nations of the Phoenicians share him?

7 ७ तू लिव्याथानाच्या कातडीत किंवा डोक्यात बरच्या फेकशील का?

And all the ships come together would not be able to bear the mere skin of his tail; neither [shall they carry] his head in fishing vessels.

8 ८ तू एकदा का लिव्याथानावर हात टाकलास तर पुन्हा तसे कधी करु शकणार नाहीस. ती कशा प्रकारची लढाई असेल याचा एकदा विचार कर.

But you shall lay your hand upon him [once], remembering the war that is waged by his mouth; and let it not be done any more.

9 ९ तू लिव्याथानाचा पराभव करु शकशील असे तुला वाटत असेल तर ते विसरून जा. तशा आशेला जागाच नाही. त्याच्याकडे नजर टाकताच तुझी भीतीने गाळण उडेल.

Hast you not seen him? and have you not wondered at the things said [of him]?

10 १० एकही मनुष्य त्यास जागे करून त्याचा राग ओढवून घेण्याइतका शूर नाही. “माझ्याविरुध्द उभा राहणाराही कोणी नाही.

Do you not fear because preparation has been made by me? for who is there that resists me?

11 ११ मला कोणी काही प्रथम दिले नाही म्हणून मी त्यांची परत फेड करू? या नभोमंडळाखाली जे जे आहे ते सर्व माझे आहे.

Or who will resist me, and abide, since the whole [world] under heaven is mine?

12 १२ मी तुला लिव्याथानाच्या पायांविषयी, त्याच्या शक्तीविषयी आणि त्याच्या ऐटदार बांध्याविषयी सांगेन.

I will not be silent because of him: though because of his power [one] shall pity his antagonist.

13 १३ कोणीही त्याची कातडी छेदू शकत नाही. त्याची जबड्यांत कोणाला शिरता येईल?

Who will open the face of his garment? and who can enter within the fold of his breastplate?

14 १४ लिव्याथानाला त्याचा जबडा उघडायला कोणीही भाग पाडू शकत नाही. त्याच्या तोंडातल्या दातांची लोकांस भीती वाटते.

Who will open the doors of his face? terror is round about his teeth.

15 १५ लिव्याथानाच्या पाठीवर ढालीसारख्या खवल्यांच्या रांगा एकमेकांना चिकटून आहेत.

His inwards are as brazen plates, and the texture of his [skin] as a smyrite stone.

16 १६ ते खवले एकमेकांना इतके चिकटले आहेत की त्यातून हवासुध्दा जाऊ शकत नाही.

One [part] cleaves fast to another, and the air can’t come between them.

17 १७ त्याचे खवले एकमेकांशी घटृ बांधलेले आहेत. ते एकमेकांशी इतके घटृ बांधलेले आहेत की कोणी ते ओढून वेगळे करु शकत नाही.

They will remain united each to the other: they are closely joined, and can’t be separated.

18 १८ लिव्याथान जेव्हा शिंकतो तेव्हा वीज चमकल्यासारखी वाटते. त्याचे डोळे पहाटेच्या प्रकाशासारखे चमकतात.

At his sneezing a light shines, and his eyes are [as] the appearance of the morning star.

19 १९ त्याच्या तोंडातून आगीचे लोळ बाहेर पडतात. आगीच्या ठिणग्या निघतात.

Out of his mouth proceed as it were burning lamps, and as it were hearths of fire are cast abroad.

20 २० उकळत्या भांड्याखाली ठेवलेल्या जळत्या लव्हाळ्यातून निघतो तसा धूर त्याच्या नाकातून येतो.

Out of his nostrils proceeds smoke of a furnace burning with fire of coals.

21 २१ लिव्याथानाच्या श्वासांनी कोळसे पेटतात आणि त्याच्या तोंडातून ज्वाला बाहेर पडतात.

His breath is [as] live coals, and a flame goes out of his mouth.

22 २२ लिव्याथानाची मान मजबूत आहे. लोक त्यास घाबरतात आणि त्याच्यापासून दूर पळत सुटतात.

And power is lodged in his neck, before him destruction runs.

23 २३ त्याच्या कातडीवर एकही मऊ भाग नाही ती लोखंडासाखी कठीण आहे.

The flesh also of his body is joined together: [if one] pours [violence] upon him, he shall not be moved.

24 २४ लिव्याथानाचे हृदय पाषाणासारखे आहे. त्यास भीती वाटत नाही ते पाट्यासारखे आहे. जात्याच्या खालच्या तळीसारखे ते आहे.

His heart is firm as a stone, and it stands like an unyielding anvil.

25 २५ लिव्याथान उठून उभा राहिला की शूर वीरही घाबरतात लिव्याथानाने त्यांची शेपटी हलवली की ते पळून जातात.

And when he turns, [he is] a terror to the four-footed wild beasts which leap upon the earth.

26 २६ तलवारी, भाले आणि तीर त्याच्यावर फेकले तरी ते त्यास न लागता परत येतात. त्या शस्त्रांनी त्यास काहीही इजा होत नाही.

If spears should come against him, [men] will effect nothing, [either with] the spear or the breast-plate.

27 २७ तो लोखाडास गवताच्या काडीसारखे मोडू शकतो कुजलेले लाकूड जसे पटकन मोडते तसे तो पितळ मोडतो.

For he considers iron as chaff, and brass as rotten wood.

28 २८ तो बाणांना घाबरुन पळून जात नाही वाळलेल्या गवताप्रमाणे दगड त्याच्यावर आपटून परत येतात.

The bow of brass shall not would him, he deems a slinger as grass.

29 २९ जेव्हा लाकडी गदा त्याच्यावर आपटली जाते तेव्हा त्यास ते गवत आपटल्याप्रमाणे वाटते. लोक त्याच्यावर भाले फेकतात तेव्हा तो हसतो.

Mauls are counted as stubble; and he laughs to scorn the waving of the firebrand.

30 ३० लिव्याथानाच्या शरीरावरची कातडी तीक्ष्ण, टणक खापरासाखी आहे. तो चिखलात कुळक फिरवल्याप्रमाणे तास पाडतो.

His lair is [formed of] sharp points; and all the gold of the sea under him is an immense [quantity of] clay.

31 ३१ लिव्याथान पाण्याला उकळी आल्याप्रमाणे हलवतो. तो त्यास उकळत्या तेलाच्या भांड्याप्रमाणे तो त्यावर बुडबुडे आणतो.

He makes the deep boil like a brazen cauldron; and he regards the sea as a pot of ointment,

32 ३२ लिव्याथान पोहतो तेव्हा तो आपल्यामागे मार्ग तयार करतो. तो पाणी ढवळून टाकतो आणि आपल्यामागे पांढरा फेस ठेवतो.

and the lowest part of the deep as a captive: he reckons the deep as [his] range.

33 ३३ पृथ्वीवरचा एकही पशू लिव्याथानासारखा नाही. तो एक भीतिविरहित प्राणी आहे.

There is nothing upon the earth like to him, formed to be sported with by my angels.

34 ३४ लिव्याथान गर्विष्ठ प्राण्याला कमी (तुच्छ) लेखतो तो सगळ्या रानटी श्वापदांचा राजा आहे. आणि मी, परमेश्वराने त्यास निर्माण केले आहे.”

He beholds every high thing: and he is king of all that are in the waters.
