ईयोब 37

1 १ “खरोखर हे ऐकूण माझे हृदय थरथरते, ते त्याच्या जागेवरून सरकले आहे.

At this also my heart is troubled, and moved out of its place.

2 २ ऐका! हो ऐका! देवाच्या आवाजाची गर्जना ऐका, देवाच्या मुखातून येणारा ध्वनी ऐका.

Hear thou a report by the anger of the Lord's wrath, and a discourse shall come out of his mouth.

3 ३ देव त्याच्या विजेला सर्व आकाशात चमकण्यासाठी पाठवतो. ती सर्व पृथ्वीभर चमकते.

His dominion is under the whole heaven, and his light is at the extremities of the earth.

4 ४ त्यानंतर आवाजाची गर्जना होते, देव त्याच्या वैभवी आवाजात गर्जतो. वीज चमकल्यानंतर देवाची गर्जना ऐकू येते.

After him shall be a cry with a [loud] voice; he shall thunder with the voice of his excellency, yet he shall not cause men to pass away, for one shall hear his voice.

5 ५ देवाचा गडगडाटी आवाज अद्भुत आहे. देव आपल्याला न कळणाऱ्या महान गोष्टी करत असतो.

The Mighty One shall thunder wonderfully with his voice: for he has done great things which we knew not;

6 ६ तो हिमाला पृथ्वीवर पडण्याची आज्ञा करतो. ‘पावसास पृथ्वीवर जोरात पड असे सांगतो.’

commanding the snow, Be thou upon the earth, and the stormy rain, and the storm of the showers of his might.

7 ७ देवाने निर्माण केलेल्या सर्व लोकांस तो काय करु शकतो हे कळावे म्हणून देव या गोष्टी करतो हा त्याचा पुरावा आहे.

He seals up the hand of every man, that every man may know his own weakness.

8 ८ म्हणून पशू लपण्यास जातात, आणि त्यांच्या गूहेत राहतात.

And the wild beasts come in under the covert, and rest in [their] lair.

9 ९ दक्षिणेकडून चक्रीवादळ येते उत्तरेकडून थंड वारे येतात.

Troubles come on out of the secret chambers, and cold from the mountain-tops.

10 १० देवाच्या नि: श्वासाने बर्फ दिल्या जाते आणि पाण्याच्या विस्तार धातूसारखा गोठून जातो.

And from the breath of the Mighty One he will send frost; and he guides the water in whatever way he pleases.

11 ११ खरोखर, देव गडद ढगांना पाण्याने भरतो तो आपल्या विजेचा ढग चोहोकडे पसरवतो.

And [if] a cloud obscures [what is] precious [to him], his light will disperse the cloud.

12 १२ तो ढगांना सर्व पृथ्वीभर त्याच्या मार्गदर्शनाने पसरण्याची आज्ञा करतो देव जी आज्ञा देतो ती त्यांनी सर्व पृथ्वीच्या पाठीवर पाळावी.

And he will carry round the encircling [clouds] by his governance, to [perform] their works: whatsoever he shall command them,

13 १३ काही वेळा हे सुधारणुक करण्यासाठी असते, काहीवेळा त्यांच्या भूमीसाठी, हे सर्व तो घडवून आणतो, आणि काहीवेळा विश्वासाच्या कराराची कृती असते

this has been appointed by him on the earth, whether for correction, [or] for his land, or if he shall find him [an object] for mercy.

14 १४ ईयोबा, याकडे लक्ष दे, थांब आणि देव ज्या आश्चर्यकारक गोष्टी करतो त्यांचा विचार कर.

Hearken to this, O Job: stand still, and be admonished of the power of the Lord.

15 १५ देव ढगांवर आपला अधिकार कसा गाजवतो ते तुला माहीत आहे का? तो विजेला कसे चमकावितो ते तुला माहीत आहे का?

We know that god has disposed his works, having made light out of darkness.

16 १६ ढग आकाशात कसे तरंगतात ते तुला कळते का? देव जो ज्ञानाने परिपूर्ण त्याचे आश्चर्यकर्म तू जाणतोस काय?

And he knows the divisions of the clouds, and the signal overthrows of the ungodly.

17 १७ तुझे कपडे गरम कसे होतात हे तुला समजते काय, दक्षिणेकडून वारे वाहते तेव्हा सगळे काही स्तब्ध असते.

But thy robe is warm, and there is quiet upon the land.

18 १८ तो जसे आकाश पसरवतो तसे तू करू शकतो काय? जे आकाश ओतीव आरशाप्रमाणे अढळ आहे?

Wilt thou establish with him [foundations] for the ancient [heavens? they are] strong as a molten mirror.

19 १९ देवाला आम्ही काय सांगायचे ते तू आम्हांला सांग. अंधारामुळे आम्हास आमचे भाषण रचता येत नाही.

Wherefore teach me, what shall we say to him? and let us cease from saying much.

20 २० मला त्याच्याशी बोलायचे आहे असे तो म्हणाला काय? तसे म्हणणे म्हणजे स्वत: चा नाश करून घेणे आहे.

Have I a book or a scribe my me, that I may stand and put man to silence?

21 २१ आता, लोक सुर्य जेव्हा तापत असतो त्यावेळी लोक त्याकडे आकाशात बघू शकत नाही वाऱ्याने ढग पळवून लावले की तो स्वच्छ आणि चकचकीत दिसतो.

But the light is not visible to all: it shines afar off in the heavens, as that which is from him in the clouds.

22 २२ उत्तरेकडून सोनेरी वैभव येते, देवाच्या भोवती भितीदायक तेजोवलय असते.

From the [north] come the clouds shining like gold: in these great are the glory and honour of the Almighty;

23 २३ जो सर्वशक्तिमान तो महान आहे आपणाला त्याचा शोध लागत नाही, तो सामर्थ्यवान आहे न्यायाने वागतो. तो लोकांस त्रास देत नाही.

and we do not find another his equal in strength: [as for] him that judges justly, dost thou not think that he listens?

24 २४ म्हणूनच लोक त्याचे भय धरतात. परंतु देव आपल्या शहाणपणाचा अभिमान बाळगणाऱ्या लोकांस मान देत नाही.”

Wherefore men shall fear him; and the wise also in heart shall fear him.
