2 राजे 9
1 १ अलीशाने, एका तरुण संदेष्ट्याला बोलावले. अलीशा त्यास म्हणाला, “तयार हो आणि ही तेलाची कुपी बरोबर घे. रामोथ-गिलाद येथे जा.
And Elisha the prophet called one of the children of the prophets, and said unto him, Gird up thy loins, and take this box of oil in thine hand, and go to Ramoth-gilead:
2 २ येथे पोचल्यावर निमशीचा मुलगा यहोशाफाट याचा मुलगा येहू याला शोधून काढ. मग आत जाऊन त्यास त्याच्या भावांमधून उठवून आतल्या खोलीत ने.
And when thou comest thither, look out there Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi, and go in, and make him arise up from among his brethren, and carry him to an inner chamber;
3 ३ त्यानंतर ही तेलाची कुपी घेऊन त्याच्या मस्तकावर तेल ओत. तेव्हा ‘परमेश्वर म्हणतो की इस्राएलचा राजा म्हणून मी तुला अभिषेक केला आहे,’ असे म्हण. एवढे झाले की धावत परत ये. तेथे थांबू नकोस!”
Then take the box of oil, and pour [it] on his head, and say, Thus saith the LORD, I have anointed thee king over Israel. Then open the door, and flee, and tarry not.
So the young man, [even] the young man the prophet, went to Ramoth-gilead.
5 ५ येथे पोचल्यावर त्यास सैन्यातील सरदार बसलेले आढळले. त्यांना तो म्हणाला, “तुमच्यासाठी एक निरोप आहे.” येहू म्हणाला, “आम्ही सर्वच इथे आहोत. निरोप नक्की कोणासाठी आहे?” तेव्हा तो तरुण म्हणाला, “हे सरदारा, तुझ्याशीच; माझे काम आहे.”
And when he came, behold, the captains of the host [were] sitting; and he said, I have an errand to thee, O captain. And Jehu said, Unto which of all us? And he said, To thee, O captain.
6 ६ यावर येहू उठून घरात आला. त्या तरुण संदेष्ट्याने त्याच्या मस्तकावर तेलाचा अभिषेक केला. येहूला तो म्हणाला, इस्राएलचा परमेश्वर देव म्हणतो, “इस्राएलचा पुढचा राजा म्हणून मी तुला अभिषेक करत आहे.”
And he arose, and went into the house; and he poured the oil on his head, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, I have anointed thee king over the people of the LORD, [even] over Israel.
7 ७ तुमचा राजा अहाब याच्या घराण्याचा तू संहार करावास. अशा तऱ्हेने मी माझे सेवक, संदेष्टे, परमेश्वराचे सर्व सेवक यांच्या वधाचा सूड घेऊन ईजबेलला शासन करणार आहे.
And thou shalt smite the house of Ahab thy master, that I may avenge the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of the LORD, at the hand of Jezebel.
8 ८ म्हणजे अहाबचे संपूर्ण घराणे नष्ट होईल. अहाबाच्या घराण्यात एकही मुलगा जिवंत राहणार नाही. मग ती इस्राएलमधील मुक्त व्यक्ती असो की गुलाम.
For the whole house of Ahab shall perish: and I will cut off from Ahab him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel:
9 ९ नबाटचा मुलगा यराबाम तसेच अहीयाचा मुलगा बाशा यांच्या घराण्यासारखी अहाबाच्या घराण्याची मी गत करून टाकीन.
And I will make the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah:
10 १० “ईजबेलला इज्रेल भागात कुत्री खातील. तिचे दफन होणार नाही. एवढे बोलून हा तरुण संदेष्टा दार उघडून पळून गेला.”
And the dogs shall eat Jezebel in the portion of Jezreel, and [there shall be] none to bury [her]. And he opened the door, and fled.
11 ११ येहू पुन्हा राजाच्या सरदारांमध्ये आला. तेव्हा त्यांच्यातला एकजण म्हणाला, “येहू, सर्व कुशल आहे ना? तो वेडा तुझ्याकडे कशाला आला होता?” येहू त्यांना म्हणाला, “तो मनुष्य कोण आणि त्याचा संदेश तुम्हास माहित आहेच.”
Then Jehu came forth to the servants of his lord: and [one] said unto him, [Is] all well? wherefore came this mad [fellow] to thee? And he said unto them, Ye know the man, and his communication.
12 १२ तेव्हा ते सर्व म्हणाले, “नाही, नाही खर काय झाले ते सांग. काय म्हणाला तो?” तेव्हा तो तरुण संदेष्टा काय म्हणाला ते येहूने सरदारांना सांगितले. येहू म्हणाला, “तो मला म्हणाला, ‘इस्राएलाचा राजा म्हणून परमेश्वराच्या सांगण्यावरुन मी तुला अभिषेक करत आहे.”
And they said, [It is] false; tell us now. And he said, Thus and thus spake he to me, saying, Thus saith the LORD, I have anointed thee king over Israel.
13 १३ हे ऐकून मात्र त्यांनी ताबडतोब आपले अंगरखे उतरवले, येहूच्या समोरच्या पायऱ्यांवर ते ठेवले आणि शिंग फुंकून येहू राजा झाला असल्याची घोषणा केली.
Then they hasted, and took every man his garment, and put [it] under him on the top of the stairs, and blew with trumpets, saying, Jehu is king.
14 १४ निमशीचा मुलगा यहोशाफाट याचा मुलगा येहू याने योरामाविरुध्द कट रचला. यावेळी, अरामाचा राजा हजाएल याच्यापासून रामोथ-गिलादाचे संरक्षण करण्यासाठी योराम सर्व इस्राएलांसह झटत होता. येहू इज्रेल येथे जातो
So Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi conspired against Joram. (Now Joram had kept Ramoth-gilead, he and all Israel, because of Hazael king of Syria.
15 १५ राजा योथामाने हजाएलशी झुंज घेतली होती. पण अरामी लोकांनी योरामाला जायबंदी केले होते तेव्हा जखमा भरुन येण्यासाठी तो इज्रेलला गेला होता. तेव्हा येहू त्या सगळ्या सरदारांना म्हणाला, “नवीन राजा म्हणून मला तुमची मान्यता असेल तर ही बातमी नगरातून इज्रेलमध्ये जाऊ देऊ नका.”
But king Joram was returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Syrians had given him, when he fought with Hazael king of Syria.) And Jehu said, If it be your minds, [then] let none go forth [nor] escape out of the city to go to tell [it] in Jezreel.
16 १६ योराम इज्रेलमध्ये आराम करत होता. येहू रथात बसून इज्रेलला गेला. यहूदाचा राजा अहज्या देखील तेव्हा योथामाला भेटावयाला इज्रेलला आला होता.
So Jehu rode in a chariot, and went to Jezreel; for Joram lay there. And Ahaziah king of Judah was come down to see Joram.
17 १७ इज्रेलमध्ये बुरूजावर एक पहारोकरी होता. त्याने येहूला मोठ्या जमावनिशी येताना पाहिले. तो म्हणाला, “मोठाच जमाव दिसतोय” योरामाने त्यास सांगितले, “कोणाला तरी घोड्यावरुन त्यांच्याकडे पाठव. ते शांतीने येत आहेत का ते त्या स्वाराला विचारायला सांग.”
And there stood a watchman on the tower in Jezreel, and he spied the company of Jehu as he came, and said, I see a company. And Joram said, Take an horseman, and send to meet them, and let him say, [Is it] peace?
18 १८ तेव्हा एक सेवक घोड्यावरुन येहूला सामोरा गेला. राजा योरामाच्या वतीने त्याने येहूला विचारले, “तुमचे येणे शांततेचे आहे ना?” येहू त्यास म्हणाला, “शांतीशी तुला कर्तव्य नाही. असा माझ्या मागेमाग ये.” पहारेकऱ्याने योथामाला सांगितले, “आपला तिकडे पाठवलेला मनुष्य अजून परत आलेला नाही.”
So there went one on horseback to meet him, and said, Thus saith the king, [Is it] peace? And Jehu said, What hast thou to do with peace? turn thee behind me. And the watchman told, saying, The messenger came to them, but he cometh not again.
19 १९ तेव्हा योथामाने दुसऱ्या घोडेस्वाराला पाठवले, तो येहूकडे आला आणि राजा योरामाच्या वतीने सलोख्याचे अभिवादन केले. येहू म्हणाला, “तुला सलोख्याशी काय करायचे आहे? असा माझ्या मागोमाग ये?”
Then he sent out a second on horseback, which came to them, and said, Thus saith the king, [Is it] peace? And Jehu answered, What hast thou to do with peace? turn thee behind me.
20 २० पहारेकऱ्याने योथामाला सांगितले, “संदेश घेऊन गेलेला दुसरा मनुष्यही परत आलेला नाही. रथ चालवणारा तर वेड्यासारखा भरधाव रथ हाकतो आहे. निमशीचा मुलगा येहू याच्यासारखीच ती पध्दत आहे.
And the watchman told, saying, He came even unto them, and cometh not again: and the driving [is] like the driving of Jehu the son of Nimshi; for he driveth furiously.
21 २१ योथामाने मग स्वत: चा रथ तयार ठेवण्यास सांगितले.” तेव्हा सेवकाने योरामाचा रथ आणला. इस्राएलचा राजा योराम आणि यहूदाचा राजा अहज्या या दोघांनी आपापले रथ येहूच्या दिशेने पळवले. इज्रेलचा नाबोथ याच्या शेतात त्यांची यहूशी गाठ पडली.
And Joram said, Make ready. And his chariot was made ready. And Joram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah went out, each in his chariot, and they went out against Jehu, and met him in the portion of Naboth the Jezreelite.
22 २२ येहूला पाहून योरामाने त्यास विचारले, “येहू तू शांततेसाठीच आला आहेस ना?” येहू म्हणाला, “तुझी आई ईजबेल हिचे व्यभिचार आणि चेटके चालू असेपर्यंत कसली आली आहे शांतता?”
And it came to pass, when Joram saw Jehu, that he said, [Is it] peace, Jehu? And he answered, What peace, so long as the whoredoms of thy mother Jezebel and her witchcrafts [are so] many?
23 २३ योरामाने ताबडतोब आपले घोडे वळवले आणि पळ काढण्याच्या तयारीत तो अहज्याला म्हणाला, “अहज्या, दगा आहे.”
And Joram turned his hands, and fled, and said to Ahaziah, [There is] treachery, O Ahaziah.
24 २४ पण येहूने सर्व शक्तीनिशी धनुष्य ओढून योरामाचा बरोबर दोन बाहूंच्यामध्ये वेध घेतला. बाण योरामाच्या हृदयातून आरपार गेला. योराम रथात मरुन पडला.
And Jehu drew a bow with his full strength, and smote Jehoram between his arms, and the arrow went out at his heart, and he sunk down in his chariot.
25 २५ येहूने आपल्या रथाचा सारथी बिदकर याला सांगितले, “योरामाचा मृतदेह उचल आणि तो इज्रेलचा नाबोथ ह्याच्या शेतात फेकून दे आपण दोघे, योरामाचा बाप अहाब याच्याबरोबर बसून चाललो होतो तेव्हा हे असे घडणार असे परमेश्वराने सांगितले होते, ते आठवते ना?
Then said [Jehu] to Bidkar his captain, Take up, [and] cast him in the portion of the field of Naboth the Jezreelite: for remember how that, when I and thou rode together after Ahab his father, the LORD laid this burden upon him;
26 २६ परमेश्वर म्हणाला होता, ‘नाबोथ आणि त्याची मुले यांचे रक्त काल मला दिसले तेव्हा त्या शेतात मी अहाबाला शिक्षा करीन.’ प्रत्यक्ष परमेश्वरच असे म्हणाला. तेव्हा उचल तो मृतदेह आणि परमेश्वराच्या म्हणण्याप्रमाणे दे टाकून त्या शेतात!”
Surely I have seen yesterday the blood of Naboth, and the blood of his sons, saith the LORD; and I will requite thee in this plat, saith the LORD. Now therefore take [and] cast him into the plat [of ground], according to the word of the LORD.
27 २७ यहूदाचा राजा अहज्या याने ते पाहिले आणि तेथून पळ काढला. मळ्यातल्या एका घराच्या बाजूने तो गेला. येहूने त्याचा पाठलाग केला. येहू म्हणाला, “अहज्याचाही वध करा.” तेव्हा येहूच्या मनुष्यांनी अहज्याला इब्लाम जवळच्या गूरच्या रस्त्यावर जखमी केले. तेव्हा अहज्या मगिद्दोकडे पळाला पण तिथेच मरण पावला.
But when Ahaziah the king of Judah saw [this], he fled by the way of the garden house. And Jehu followed after him, and said, Smite him also in the chariot. [And they did so] at the going up to Gur, which [is] by Ibleam. And he fled to Megiddo, and died there.
28 २८ अहज्याच्या चाकरांनी त्याचा मृतदेह रथातून यरूशलेम येथे आणला. त्याचे त्यांनी दावीद नगरात त्याच्या पूर्वजांशेजारी दफन केले.
And his servants carried him in a chariot to Jerusalem, and buried him in his sepulchre with his fathers in the city of David.
29 २९ अहाबाचा पुत्र योरामाचे इस्राएलचा राजा म्हणून अकरावे वर्षे चालू असताना अहज्या यहूदाचा राजा झाला होता.
And in the eleventh year of Joram the son of Ahab began Ahaziah to reign over Judah.
30 ३० येहू इज्रेलला आला ते ईजबेलने ऐकले. तिने चांगले प्रसाधन केले, केशभूषा केली आणि खिडकीत बसून बाहेर बघू लागली.
And when Jehu was come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard [of it; ] and she painted her face, and tired her head, and looked out at a window.
31 ३१ येहूने नगरात प्रवेश केला. ईजबेल म्हणाली, ते शांतीने येत आहेत काय? “काय रे जिम्री? त्याच्या सारखेच तू ही आपल्या स्वामीला मारलेस?”
And as Jehu entered in at the gate, she said, [Had] Zimri peace, who slew his master?
32 ३२ येहूने वर खिडकीकडे पाहत म्हटले, “माझ्या बाजूने कोण आहे? बोला!” तेव्हा खिडकीतून दोन तीन खोजांनी त्याच्याकडे पाहिले.
And he lifted up his face to the window, and said, Who [is] on my side? who? And there looked out to him two [or] three eunuchs.
33 ३३ येहू त्यांना म्हणाला, “त्या ईजबेलला खाली फेका.” तेव्हा त्या खोजांनी ईजबेलला खाली फेकून दिले. भिंतीवर आणि घोड्यांवर तिचे रक्त उडाले. घोडे तिच्यावरून चालून गेले.
And he said, Throw her down. So they threw her down: and [some] of her blood was sprinkled on the wall, and on the horses: and he trode her under foot.
34 ३४ येहू घरात शिरला आणि त्याने फराळाच्या पदार्थांचा समाचार घेतला. मग तो म्हणाला, “आता त्या शापित स्त्रीला घ्या व तिचे दफन करा कारण ती राजकन्या होती.”
And when he was come in, he did eat and drink, and said, Go, see now this cursed [woman], and bury her: for she [is] a king’s daughter.
35 ३५ लोक तिला पुरायला पुढे झाले पण त्यांना तिच्या देहाचा पत्ता लागला नाही. फक्त तिचे शिर, पाय आणि हाताचे तळवे सापडले.
And they went to bury her: but they found no more of her than the skull, and the feet, and the palms of [her] hands.
36 ३६ तेव्हा त्या लोकांनी येऊन येहूला हे सांगितले. येहू त्यांना म्हणाला, “आपला सेवक एलीया तिश्बी याच्या मार्फत परमेश्वराने हेच सांगितले होते. एलीया म्हणाला होता, ‘इज्रेलच्या परिसरात ईजबेलचा देह कुत्री खातील.’
Wherefore they came again, and told him. And he said, This [is] the word of the LORD, which he spake by his servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, In the portion of Jezreel shall dogs eat the flesh of Jezebel:
And the carcase of Jezebel shall be as dung upon the face of the field in the portion of Jezreel; [so] that they shall not say, This [is] Jezebel.
