2 इतिहास 8

1 १ परमेश्वराचे मंदिर आणि आपले घर बांधायला शलमोनाला वीस वर्षे लागली.

It happened at the end of twenty years, in which Solomon had built the house of the LORD, and his own house,

2 २ मग हिरामाने दिलेली नगरे शलमोनाने वसविली त्या नगरांमध्ये काही इस्राएल लोकांस वस्ती करण्यास मुभा दिली.

that the cities which Hiram had given to Solomon, Solomon built them, and caused the children of Israel to dwell there.

3 ३ पुढे शलमोनाने, हमाथ-सोबा हे नगर जिंकून घेतले.

Solomon went to Hamath Zobah, and prevailed against it.

4 ४ वाळवंटातील तदमोर, हे नगरही त्याने वसवले कोठारांसाठी म्हणून त्याने हमाथामधली नगरे बांधली.

He built Tadmor in the wilderness, and all the storage cities, which he built in Hamath.

5 ५ वरचे बेथ-होरोन आणि खालचे बेथ होरोन यांचीही उभारणीही शलमोनाने केली ती त्याने भक्कम तटबंदीची नगरे केली त्यांना मजबूत कोट, वेशी आणि अडसर करून,

Also he built Upper Beth Horon, and Lower Beth Horon, fortified cities, with walls, gates, and bars;

6 ६ बालाथ नगर व अन्य कोठारे असलेली गावे यांची शलमोनाने पुनर्रचना केली. रथ ठेवण्यासाठी तसेच घोडेस्वारांच्या वस्तीसाठीही त्याने गावे वसवली. यरूशलेम, लबानोन व आपल्या आधिपत्याखालील सर्व प्रदेशात शलमोनाने आपल्या गरजेनुसार बांधकामे केली.

and Baalath, and all the storage cities that Solomon had, and all the cities for his chariots, and the cities for his horsemen, and all that Solomon desired to build for his pleasure in Jerusalem, and in Lebanon, and in all the land of his dominion.

7 ७ इस्राएल लोक राहत असलेल्या प्रदेशात अनेक परके लोकही होते. ते म्हणजे हित्ती, अमोरी, परिज्जी, हिव्वी आणि यबूसी त्यांना शलमोनाने वेठबिगार केले.

As for all the people who were left of the Hethites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, who were not of Israel;

8 ८ हे लोक मूळचे इस्राएल नव्हते या प्रदेशात राहून गेलेल्या लोकांचे ते वंशज होते आणि इस्राएल लोकांनी त्यांना अजून नष्ट केले नव्हते. ते अजूनही आहेत.

of their descendants who were left after them in the land, whom the children of Israel did not destroy, of them Solomon conscripted for slave labor to this day.

9 ९ इस्राएल लोकांपैकी कोणालाही शलमोनाने वेठबिगारीसाठी सक्ती केली नाही. ते त्याचे योध्दे होते. ते सैन्याधिकारी, रथाधिपती, स्वारांचे अधिकारी असे होते.

But of the children of Israel, Solomon made no slaves for his work; but they were men of war, and his commanders, and his captains, and rulers of his chariots and of his horsemen.

10 १० काही इस्राएली लोक तर शलमोनाच्या अधिकाऱ्यांवर अंमल गाजवणारे होते. असे प्रमुख अधिकारी अडीचशे होते.

These were the chief officers of king Solomon: five hundred fifty, who ruled over the people.

11 ११ शलमोनाने फारोच्या कन्येला, तिच्यासाठी बांधलेल्या महालात दावीद नगराहून आणले. शलमोन म्हणाला, “ज्या ज्याठिकाणी परमेश्वराचा करार कोश ठेवण्यात आला, ती सर्व स्थाने पवित्र आहेत, तेव्हा माझ्या पत्नीने इस्राएलचा दावीद याच्या नगरात राहू नेये.”

Solomon brought up the daughter of Pharaoh out of the City of David to the house that he had built for her; for he said, "My wife shall not dwell in the house of David king of Israel, because the places where the ark of the LORD has come are holy."

12 १२ मग शलमोनाने वेदीवर परमेश्वरास होमार्पणे केली. मंदिराच्या प्रवेशमंडपासमोरच शलमोनाने ती वेदी बांधली होती.

Then Solomon offered burnt offerings to the LORD on the altar of the LORD, which he had built before the porch,

13 १३ मोशेच्या आज्ञेप्रमाणे शलमोन रोज होमार्पणे करी शब्बाथाच्या दिवशी, नवचंद्र दर्शनीला, वर्षभरातल्या तीन सणांना होमार्पणे करायची असत. बेखमीर भाकरीचा सण, सप्ताहांचा सण, आणि मंडपाचा सण हे तीन वार्षिक सण होत.

even as the duty of every day required, offering according to the commandment of Moses, on the Sabbaths, and on the new moons, and on the set feasts, three times in the year, in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tents.

14 १४ आपल्या पित्याच्या सूचना शलमोनाने तंतोतंत पाळल्या परमेश्वराच्या सेवेसाठी त्याने याजकवर्गाच्या नेमणुका केल्या लेवींना त्यांची कामे पार पाडायला नेमले. स्तुतिगीते म्हणणे आणि मंदिराच्या चाकरीतील रोजची सेवाकार्ये बजावण्यात याजकांना मदत करणे ही लेवीची कामे होती. याखेरीज शलमोनाने प्रत्येक प्रवेशद्वाराशी द्वारपालांच्या गटांच्या नेमणुका केल्या. परमेश्वरास मानणाऱ्या दाविदाने अशाच सूचना दिल्या होत्या.

He appointed, according to the ordinance of David his father, the divisions of the priests to their service, and the Levites to their offices, to praise, and to minister before the priests, as the duty of every day required; the doorkeepers also by their divisions at every gate: for so had David the man of God commanded.

15 १५ याजक आणि लेवी यांना शलमोनाने ज्या सूचना दिल्या त्यामध्ये इस्राएल लोकांनी बदल केला नाही की आज्ञाभंग केला नाही. मौल्यवान वस्तू जतन करण्याविषयीच्या आज्ञांचाही त्यांनी बदल केला नाही.

They did not depart from the commandment of the king to the priests and Levites concerning any matter, or concerning the treasures.

16 १६ शलमोनाची सगळी कामे सिध्दीस गेली. मंदिराच्या कामाला सुरुवात केल्यापासून ते संपेपर्यंत त्यांचे व्यवस्थित नियोजन केले होते. अशा रीतीने परमेश्वराच्या मंदिराचे काम पूर्ण झाले, व ते उपयोगात आणले जाऊ लागले.

Now all the work of Solomon was carried out from the day of the foundation of the house of the LORD, until it was finished. So the house of the LORD was completed.

17 १७ यानंतर शलमोन लाल समुद्रानजीकच्या अदोम देशातील एसयोन-गेबेर आणि एलोथ या नगरांत गेला.

Then went Solomon to Ezion Geber, and to Eilat, on the seashore in the land of Edom.

18 १८ हिरामाने त्याच्याकडे आपली गलबते पाठवली. समुद्रपर्यटनात तरबेज अशा हिरामाच्या सेवकांनीच ती नेली. शलमोनाच्या चाकरीतील लोकांबरोबर, हे सेवक ओफिर येथे गेले, आणि तेथून चारशे पन्नास किक्कार सोने आणून, त्यांनी ते शलमोनाला दिले.

And Hiram sent him ships and servants who had knowledge of the sea by the hands of his servants; and they came with the servants of Solomon to Ophir, and fetched from there four hundred fifty talents of gold, and brought them to king Solomon.
