1 ൧ സംഗീതപ്രമാണിക്ക്; സാരസരാഗത്തിൽ കോരഹ് പുത്രന്മാരുടെ ഒരു ധ്യാനം. പ്രേമഗീതം. എന്റെ ഹൃദയം ശുഭവചനത്താൽ കവിയുന്നു; “എന്റെ കൃതി രാജാവിന് വേണ്ടിയുള്ളത്” എന്ന് ഞാൻ പറയുന്നു. എന്റെ നാവ് സമർത്ഥനായ ലേഖകന്റെ എഴുത്തുകോൽ ആകുന്നു.

For the leader; on shoshannim. Of the Korahites. A maskil. A love song. My heart is astir with beautiful words: I will sing a song, concerning the king, with tongue like the pen of a ready writer.

2 ൨ നീ മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്മാരിൽ അതിസുന്ദരൻ; ലാവണ്യം നിന്റെ അധരങ്ങളിൽ പകർന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ട് ദൈവം നിന്നെ എന്നേക്കും അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

Your beauty is more than mortal, grace is shed over your lips: therefore God has blessed you forever.

3 ൩ അല്ലയോ വീരാ, നിന്റെ വാൾ അരയ്ക്ക് കെട്ടുക; അത് നിന്റെ തേജസ്സും നിന്റെ മഹിമയും തന്നെ.

Warrior, strap your sword on your thigh. What glory and splendour!

4 ൪ സത്യവും സൗമ്യതയും നീതിയും പാലിക്കേണ്ടതിന് നീ മഹിമയോടെ കൃതാർത്ഥനായി വാഹനമേറി എഴുന്നെള്ളുക; നിന്റെ വലങ്കൈ ഭയങ്കരകാര്യങ്ങൾ നിനക്ക് ഉപദേശിച്ചുതരട്ടെ.

Good fortune attend you, as forth you ride in the cause of good faith, and as champion of justice. May your arm instruct you in deeds of dread.

5 ൫ നിന്റെ അസ്ത്രങ്ങൾ മൂർച്ചയുള്ളവയാകുന്നു; രാജാവിന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളുടെ നെഞ്ചത്ത് അവ തറയ്ക്കുന്നു; ജനതകൾ നിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ വീഴുന്നു.

Sharp are your arrows; nations fall under you: pierced to the heart are the foes of the king.

6 ൬ ദൈവം നിനക്കുതന്ന സിംഹാസനം എന്നേക്കുമുള്ളതാകുന്നു; അങ്ങയുടെ രാജത്വത്തിന്റെ ചെങ്കോൽ നീതിയുള്ള ചെങ്കോലാകുന്നു.

Your throne shall endure for ever and ever your royal sceptre a sceptre of equity.

7 ൭ അവിടുന്ന് നീതി ഇഷ്ടപ്പെട്ട് ദുഷ്ടത വെറുക്കുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ട് ദൈവം, നിന്റെ ദൈവം തന്നെ, നിന്റെ കൂട്ടുകാരിൽ അധികമായി നിന്നെ ആനന്ദതൈലം കൊണ്ട് അഭിഷേകം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

Right you love and wrong you hate: therefore the Lord your God anoints you With oil of gladness above your fellows.

8 ൮ നിന്റെ വസ്ത്രമെല്ലാം മൂറും ചന്ദനവും ലവംഗവുംകൊണ്ട് സുഗന്ധപൂരിതമായിരിക്കുന്നു; ദന്തമന്ദിരങ്ങളിൽനിന്ന് കമ്പിനാദം നിന്നെ സന്തോഷിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

With myrrh, aloes, and cassia your robes are all fragrant, you are gladdened by music of ivory harps.

9 ൯ നിന്റെ സ്ത്രീരത്നങ്ങളുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ രാജകുമാരികൾ ഉണ്ട്; നിന്റെ വലത്തുഭാഗത്ത് രാജ്ഞി ഓഫീർതങ്കം അണിഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ട് നില്ക്കുന്നു.

King’s daughters stand ready with jewels for you, at your right hand the queen in gold of Ophir.

10 ൧൦ അല്ലയോ കുമാരീ, കേൾക്കുക; നോക്കുക; ചെവിചായിക്കുക. സ്വജനത്തെയും നിന്റെ പിതൃഭവനത്തെയും മറക്കുക.

Listen, daughter, and see; and incline your ear: forget your folk and your father’s house.

11 ൧൧ അപ്പോൾ രാജാവ് നിന്റെ സൗന്ദര്യത്തിൽ ആകൃഷ്ടനാകും; അവൻ നിന്റെ നാഥനാകയാൽ നീ അവനെ നമസ്കരിയ്ക്കുക.

And when the king desires your beauty, bow to him, for he is your lord.

12 ൧൨ ജനത്തിലെ ധനവാന്മാരായ സോർനിവാസികൾ സമ്മാനങ്ങളുമായി നിന്റെ മുഖപ്രസാദം തേടും.

So shall the Tyrians come with gifts, and the richest of people will do you homage.

13 ൧൩ അന്തഃപുരത്തിലെ രാജകുമാരി ശോഭാപരിപൂർണ്ണയാകുന്നു; അവളുടെ വസ്ത്രം പൊൻകസവുകൊണ്ടുള്ളത്.

The king’s daughter is glorious altogether, with dress of pearls inwrought with gold.

14 ൧൪ അവളെ ചിത്രത്തയ്യലുള്ള വസ്ത്രം ധരിപ്പിച്ച് രാജസന്നിധിയിൽ കൊണ്ടുവരും; അവളെ അനുഗമിക്കുന്ന കന്യകമാരായ തോഴിമാരെയും നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവരും.

In many-coloured robes she is led to the king, with the virgin companions she brought in her train.

15 ൧൫ സന്തോഷത്തോടും ഉല്ലാസത്തോടും കൂടി അവരെ കൊണ്ടുവരും; അവർ രാജമന്ദിരത്തിൽ പ്രവേശിക്കും.

The king’s palace they enter with joy and rejoicing.

16 ൧൬ നിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ പിതാക്കന്മാർക്കു പകരം ഇരിക്കും; സർവ്വഭൂമിയിലും നീ അവരെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരാക്കും.

May sons of yours take the place of your fathers, whom you will make princes in all the land.

17 ൧൭ ഞാൻ നിന്റെ നാമത്തെ എല്ലാ തലമുറകളിലും ഓർക്കുമാറാക്കും. അതുകൊണ്ട് ജനതകൾ എന്നും എന്നേക്കും നിന്നെ പ്രകീർത്തിക്കും.

Your name will I celebrate world without end, so that nations shall praise you for ever and ever.
