സദൃശവാക്യങ്ങൾ 11

1 ൧ കള്ളത്തുലാസ്സ് യഹോവയ്ക്ക് വെറുപ്പ്; ശരിയായ തൂക്കം അവിടുത്തേക്ക് പ്രസാദകരം.

A false balance is an abomination to Yahweh, but accurate weights are his delight.

2 ൨ അഹങ്കാരം വരുമ്പോൾ ലജ്ജയും വരുന്നു; താഴ്മയുള്ളവരുടെ പക്കൽ ജ്ഞാനമുണ്ട്.

When pride comes, then comes shame, but with humility comes wisdom.

3 ൩ നേരുള്ളവരുടെ സത്യസന്ധത അവരെ വഴിനടത്തും; ദ്രോഹികളുടെ വക്രത അവരെ നശിപ്പിക്കും.

The integrity of the upright shall guide them, but the perverseness of the treacherous shall destroy them.

4 ൪ ക്രോധദിവസത്തിൽ സമ്പത്ത് ഉപകരിക്കുന്നില്ല; നീതിയോ മരണത്തിൽനിന്ന് വിടുവിക്കുന്നു.

Riches don’t profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death.

5 ൫ നിഷ്കളങ്കന്റെ നീതി അവന് നേർവഴി ഒരുക്കും; ദുഷ്ടൻ തന്റെ ദുഷ്ടതകൊണ്ട് വീണുപോകും.

The righteousness of the blameless will direct his way, but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.

6 ൬ നേരുള്ളവരുടെ നീതി അവരെ വിടുവിക്കും; ദ്രോഹികൾ അവരുടെ ദുർമ്മോഹത്താൽ പിടിക്കപ്പെടും.

The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them, but the unfaithful will be trapped by evil desires.

7 ൭ ദുഷ്ടൻ മരിക്കുമ്പോൾ അവന്റെ പ്രതീക്ഷ നശിക്കുന്നു; നീതികെട്ടവരുടെ ആശയ്ക്ക് ഭംഗംവരുന്നു.

When a wicked man dies, hope perishes, and expectation of power comes to nothing.

8 ൮ നീതിമാൻ കഷ്ടത്തിൽനിന്ന് രക്ഷപെടുന്നു; ദുഷ്ടൻ അവന് പകരം അകപ്പെടുന്നു.

A righteous person is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked takes his place.

9 ൯ വഷളൻ വായ്കൊണ്ട് കൂട്ടുകാരനെ നശിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; നീതിമാന്മാർ പരിജ്ഞാനത്താൽ വിടുവിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു.

With his mouth the godless man destroys his neighbor, but the righteous will be delivered through knowledge.

10 ൧൦ നീതിമാന്മാർ ശുഭമായിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ പട്ടണം സന്തോഷിക്കുന്നു; ദുഷ്ടന്മാർ നശിക്കുമ്പോൾ ആർപ്പുവിളി ഉണ്ടാകുന്നു.

When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices. When the wicked perish, there is shouting.

11 ൧൧ നേരുള്ളവരുടെ അനുഗ്രഹംകൊണ്ട് പട്ടണം ഉയർച്ച പ്രാപിക്കുന്നു; ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ വായ്കൊണ്ടോ അത് ഇടിഞ്ഞുപോകുന്നു.

By the blessing of the upright, the city is exalted, but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.

12 ൧൨ കൂട്ടുകാരനെ നിന്ദിക്കുന്നവൻ ബുദ്ധിഹീനൻ; വിവേകമുള്ളവൻ മിണ്ടാതിരിക്കുന്നു.

One who despises his neighbor is void of wisdom, but a man of understanding holds his peace.

13 ൧൩ ഏഷണിക്കാരനായി നടക്കുന്നവൻ രഹസ്യം വെളിപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു; വിശ്വസ്തമാനസൻ കാര്യം മറച്ചുവയ്ക്കുന്നു.

One who brings gossip betrays a confidence, but one who is of a trustworthy spirit is one who keeps a secret.

14 ൧൪ മാർഗ്ഗനിർദ്ദേശം ഇല്ലാത്തയിടത്ത് ജനം അധോഗതി പ്രാപിക്കുന്നു; മന്ത്രിമാരുടെ ബഹുത്വത്തിലോ രക്ഷയുണ്ട്.

Where there is no wise guidance, the nation falls, but in the multitude of counselors there is victory.

15 ൧൫ അന്യനുവേണ്ടി ജാമ്യം നില്ക്കുന്നവൻ അത്യന്തം വ്യസനിക്കും! ജാമ്യം നിൽക്കാത്തവൻ നിർഭയനായിരിക്കും.

He who is collateral for a stranger will suffer for it, but he who refuses pledges of collateral is secure.

16 ൧൬ കൃപാലുവായ സ്ത്രീ മാനം സംരക്ഷിക്കുന്നു; കരുണയില്ലാത്തവർ സമ്പത്ത് സൂക്ഷിക്കുന്നു.

A gracious woman obtains honor, but violent men obtain riches.

17 ൧൭ ദയാലുവായവൻ സ്വന്തപ്രാണന് നന്മ ചെയ്യുന്നു; ക്രൂരനോ സ്വന്തജഡത്തെ ഉപദ്രവിക്കുന്നു.

The merciful man does good to his own soul, but he who is cruel troubles his own flesh.

18 ൧൮ ദുഷ്ടൻ വൃഥാലാഭം ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നു; നീതി വിതയ്ക്കുന്നവന് വാസ്തവമായ പ്രതിഫലം കിട്ടും.

Wicked people earn deceitful wages, but one who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward.

19 ൧൯ നീതിയിൽ സ്ഥിരപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നവൻ ജീവനെ പ്രാപിക്കുന്നു; ദോഷത്തെ പിന്തുടരുന്നവൻ തന്റെ മരണത്തിനായി പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു.

He who is truly righteous gets life. He who pursues evil gets death.

20 ൨൦ വക്രബുദ്ധികൾ യഹോവയ്ക്ക് വെറുപ്പ്; നിഷ്കളങ്കമാർഗ്ഗികൾ അവിടുത്തേക്ക് പ്രസാദമുള്ളവർ.

Those who are perverse in heart are an abomination to Yahweh, but those whose ways are blameless are his delight.

21 ൨൧ നിശ്ചയമായും ദുഷ്ടനു ശിക്ഷ വരാതിരിക്കുകയില്ല; നീതിമാന്മാരുടെ സന്തതിയോ രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടും.

Most certainly, the evil man will not be unpunished, but the offspring of the righteous will be delivered.

22 ൨൨ വിവേകമില്ലാത്ത ഒരു സുന്ദരി പന്നിയുടെ മൂക്കിൽ പൊൻമൂക്കുത്തിപോലെ.

Like a gold ring in a pig’s snout, is a beautiful woman who lacks discretion.

23 ൨൩ നീതിമാന്മാരുടെ ആഗ്രഹം നന്മ തന്നെ; ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ പ്രതീക്ഷയോ ക്രോധമത്രേ.

The desire of the righteous is only good. The expectation of the wicked is wrath.

24 ൨൪ ഒരുവൻ വാരിവിതറിയിട്ടും വർദ്ധിച്ചുവരുന്നു; മറ്റൊരുവൻ അന്യായമായി സമ്പാദിച്ചിട്ടും ദാരിദ്ര്യത്തിൽ എത്തുന്നു.

There is one who scatters, and increases yet more. There is one who withholds more than is appropriate, but gains poverty.

25 ൨൫ ഔദാര്യമാനസൻ പുഷ്ടി പ്രാപിക്കും; തണുപ്പിക്കുന്നവന് തണുപ്പ് കിട്ടും.

The liberal soul shall be made fat. He who waters shall be watered also himself.

26 ൨൬ ധാന്യം പൂട്ടിയിട്ടുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നവനെ ജനങ്ങൾ ശപിക്കും; അത് വില്‍ക്കുന്നവന്‍റെ തലമേൽ അനുഗ്രഹം വരും.

People curse someone who withholds grain, but blessing will be on the head of him who sells it.

27 ൨൭ നന്മയ്ക്കായി ഉത്സാഹിക്കുന്നവൻ പ്രീതി സമ്പാദിക്കുന്നു; തിന്മ തേടുന്നവന് അത് തന്നെ ലഭിക്കും.

He who diligently seeks good seeks favor, but he who searches after evil, it shall come to him.

28 ൨൮ തന്റെ സമ്പത്തിൽ ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നവൻ വീഴും; നീതിമാന്മാർ പച്ചയിലപോലെ തഴയ്ക്കും.

He who trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous shall flourish as the green leaf.

29 ൨൯ സ്വഭവനത്തെ വലയ്ക്കുന്നവന്റെ അവകാശം വായുവത്രെ; ഭോഷൻ ജ്ഞാനഹൃദയന് ദാസനായിത്തീരും.

He who troubles his own house shall inherit the wind. The foolish shall be servant to the wise of heart.

30 ൩൦ നീതിമാന് ജീവവൃക്ഷം പ്രതിഫലം; ജ്ഞാനിയായവൻ ആത്മാക്കളെ നേടുന്നു.

The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life. He who is wise wins souls.

31 ൩൧ നീതിമാന് ഭൂമിയിൽ പ്രതിഫലം കിട്ടുന്നു എങ്കിൽ ദുഷ്ടനും പാപിക്കും എത്ര അധികം?

Behold, the righteous shall be repaid in the earth, how much more the wicked and the sinner!
