യോഹന്നാൻ 2
Two days after this there was a wedding at Cana in Galilee, and Jesus’ mother was there.
Jesus himself, too, with his disciples, was invited to the wedding.
And, when the wine ran short, his mother said to him, ‘They have no wine left.’
4 ൪ അതിന് യേശു: സ്ത്രീയേ, അതിന് ഞാനുമായിട്ട് എന്ത് കാര്യം? എന്റെ നാഴിക ഇതുവരെ വന്നിട്ടില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
‘What do you want with me?’ answered Jesus. ‘My time has not come yet.’
His mother said to the servants, ‘Do whatever he tells you.’
6 ൬ അവിടെ യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ ശുദ്ധീകരണ ആചാരം അനുസരിച്ച് രണ്ടോ മൂന്നോ പറ വീതം കൊള്ളുന്ന ആറ് കല്പാത്രം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
There were standing there six stone water-jars, in accordance with the Jewish rule of purification, each holding twenty or thirty gallons.
Jesus said to the servants, ‘Fill the water-jars with water.’
8 ൮ ഇപ്പോൾ കുറച്ച് കോരിയെടുത്ത് കലവറക്കാരന് കൊണ്ടുപോയി കൊടുക്കുവിൻ എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു; അവർ അപ്രകാരം ചെയ്തു.
And, when they had filled them to the brim, he added, ‘Now take some out, and carry it to the Master of the feast.’ The servants did so.
9 ൯ അത് എവിടെനിന്ന് എന്നു വെള്ളം കോരിയ ശുശ്രൂഷക്കാരല്ലാതെ കലവറക്കാരൻ അറിഞ്ഞില്ല. വീഞ്ഞായിത്തീർന്ന വെള്ളം കലവറക്കാരൻ രുചിനോക്കിയതിനുശേഷം മണവാളനെ വിളിച്ചു:
And, when the Master of the feast had tasted the water which had now become wine, not knowing where it had come from – although the servants who had taken out the water knew –
10 ൧൦ എല്ലാവരും ആദ്യം നല്ല വീഞ്ഞും ലഹരി പിടിച്ചശേഷം ഇളപ്പമായതും കൊടുക്കാറുണ്ട്; നീ നല്ല വീഞ്ഞ് ഇതുവരെയും സൂക്ഷിച്ചുവെച്ചുവല്ലോ എന്നു അവനോട് പറഞ്ഞു.
He called the groom and said to him, ‘Everyone puts good wine on the table first, and inferior wine afterwards, when his guests have drunk freely; but you have kept back the good wine till now!’
11 ൧൧ യേശു ഇതിനെ അടയാളങ്ങളുടെ ആരംഭമായി ഗലീലയിലെ കാനയിൽവച്ച് ചെയ്തു തന്റെ മഹത്വം വെളിപ്പെടുത്തി; അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ അവനിൽ വിശ്വസിച്ചു.
This, the first sign of his mission, Jesus gave at Cana in Galilee, and by it revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him.
12 ൧൨ അനന്തരം അവനും അവന്റെ അമ്മയും സഹോദരന്മാരും ശിഷ്യന്മാരും കഫർന്നഹൂമിലേക്ക് പോയി; അവിടെ അവർ ചുരുക്കംനാൾ താമസിച്ചു.
After this, Jesus went down to Capernaum – he, his mother, his brothers, and his disciples; but they stayed there only a few days.
Then, as the Jewish Passover was near, Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
14 ൧൪ ദൈവാലയത്തിൽ കാളകൾ, ആടുകൾ, പ്രാവുകൾ എന്നിവയെ വില്ക്കുന്നതും, നാണയമാറ്റക്കാർ അവിടെ ഇരിക്കുന്നതും കണ്ടിട്ട്
In the Temple Courts he found people who were selling bullocks, sheep, and pigeons, and the money changers at their counters.
15 ൧൫ കയറുകൊണ്ട് ഒരു ചമ്മട്ടി ഉണ്ടാക്കി അവരെല്ലാവരെയും, ആടുകളെയും കാളകളെയുംകൂടെ ദൈവാലയത്തിൽനിന്ന് പുറത്താക്കി; നാണയമാറ്റക്കാരുടെ നാണയങ്ങൾ ചിതറിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു; മേശകളെ മറിച്ചിട്ടു;
So he made a whip of cords, and drove them all out of the Temple Courts, and the sheep and bullocks as well; he scattered the money of the money changers, and overturned their tables,
16 ൧൬ പ്രാവുകളെ വില്ക്കുന്നവരോട്: ഇതു ഇവിടെനിന്ന് കൊണ്ടുപോകുവിൻ; എന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ ആലയത്തെ കച്ചവടസ്ഥലം ആക്കുന്നത് നിർത്തുവിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
and said to the pigeon-dealers, ‘Take these things away. Do not turn my Father’s house into a market house.’
17 ൧൭ അപ്പോൾ അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ: നിന്റെ ആലയത്തെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള തീഷ്ണത എന്നെ തിന്നുകളയുന്നു എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നത് ഓർത്തു.
His disciples remembered that scripture said – “Passion for your house will consume me.”
18 ൧൮ എന്നാൽ യെഹൂദന്മാർ അവനോട്: നിനക്ക് ഇങ്ങനെ ചെയ്യാം എന്നതിന് നീ എന്ത് അടയാളം കാണിച്ചുതരും എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
Then some of the religious authorities asked Jesus, ‘What sign are you going to show us, since you act in this way?’
19 ൧൯ യേശു അവരോട്: ഈ മന്ദിരം തകർക്കുവിൻ; മൂന്നു ദിവസത്തിനകം ഞാൻ അതിനെ ഉദ്ധരിക്കും എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
‘Destroy this temple,’ was his answer, ‘and I will raise it in three days.’
20 ൨൦ യെഹൂദ അധികാരികൾ അവനോട്: ഈ മന്ദിരം നാല്പത്താറ് വർഷങ്ങൾകൊണ്ട് പണിതിരിക്കുന്നു; നീ മൂന്നു ദിവസത്തിനകം അതിനെ ഉദ്ധരിപ്പിക്കുമോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
‘This Temple,’ the authorities replied, ‘has been forty-six years in building, and are you going to “raise it in three days”?’
But Jesus was speaking of his body as a temple.
22 ൨൨ അവൻ ഇതു പറഞ്ഞു എന്നു അവൻ മരിച്ചവരിൽനിന്ന് ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേറ്റശേഷം ശിഷ്യന്മാർ ഓർത്തു തിരുവെഴുത്തും യേശു പറഞ്ഞ വചനവും വിശ്വസിച്ചു.
Afterwards, when he had risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this; and they believed the passage of scripture, and the words which Jesus had spoken.
23 ൨൩ പെസഹ പെരുന്നാളിൽ യെരൂശലേമിൽ ഇരിക്കുമ്പോൾ അവൻ ചെയ്ത അത്ഭുതകരമായ അടയാളങ്ങൾ കണ്ടിട്ട് പലരും അവന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ വിശ്വസിച്ചു.
While Jesus was in Jerusalem, during the Passover Festival, many came to trust in him, when they saw the signs of his mission that he was giving.
But Jesus did not put himself in their power because he knew what was in their hearts.
25 ൨൫ മനുഷ്യനിലുള്ളത് എന്ത് എന്നു സ്വതവേ അറിഞ്ഞിരിക്കയാൽ തനിക്കു മനുഷ്യനെക്കുറിച്ച് യാതൊരുത്തന്റെയും സാക്ഷ്യം ആവശ്യമായിരുന്നില്ല.
He did not need anyone to tell him about people because he could read what was in them.
