യോഹന്നാൻ 17

1 ൧ ഇതു സംസാരിച്ചിട്ട് യേശു സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തേക്ക് നോക്കി പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാൽ: പിതാവേ, നാഴിക വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; നിന്റെ പുത്രൻ നിന്നെ മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തേണ്ടതിന് പുത്രനെ മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തേണമേ.

After saying this, Jesus raised his eyes heavenwards, and said: ‘Father, the hour has come; honour your Son, so that your Son may honour you;

2 ൨ നീ അവന് നല്കീട്ടുള്ളവർക്കെല്ലാവർക്കും അവൻ നിത്യജീവനെ കൊടുക്കണ്ടതിന് നീ സകലജഡത്തിന്മേലും അവന് അധികാരം നല്കിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ. (aiōnios g166)

even as you gave him power over all humanity, so that he should give eternal life to everyone you have given him. (aiōnios g166)

3 ൩ ഏകസത്യദൈവമായ നിന്നെയും നീ അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിനെയും അറിയുന്നതുതന്നെ നിത്യജീവൻ ആകുന്നു. (aiōnios g166)

And the eternal life is this – to know you the one true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent as your messenger. (aiōnios g166)

4 ൪ നീ എനിക്ക് ചെയ്‌വാൻ തന്ന പ്രവൃത്തി തികച്ചുകൊണ്ട് ഞാൻ ഭൂമിയിൽ നിന്നെ മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

I have honoured you on earth by completing the work which you have given me to do;

5 ൫ ഇപ്പോൾ പിതാവേ, ലോകം ഉണ്ടാകുംമുമ്പെ എനിക്ക് നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന മഹത്വത്തിൽ എന്നെ നിന്നോടുകൂടെ മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തേണമേ.

and now do you honour me, Father, at your own side, with the honour which I had at your side before the world began.

6 ൬ നീ ലോകത്തിൽനിന്ന് എനിക്ക് തന്നിട്ടുള്ള മനുഷ്യർക്ക് ഞാൻ നിന്റെ നാമം വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു. അവർ നിനക്കുള്ളവർ ആയിരുന്നു; നീ അവരെ എനിക്ക് തന്നു; അവർ നിന്റെ വചനം പ്രമാണിച്ചുമിരിക്കുന്നു.

I have revealed you to those whom you gave me from the world; they were your own, and you gave them to me; and they have laid your message to heart.

7 ൭ നീ എനിക്ക് തന്നതു എല്ലാം നിന്റെ പക്കൽ നിന്നു ആകുന്നു എന്നു അവർ ഇപ്പോൾ അറിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

They recognise now that everything that you gave me was from you;

8 ൮ നീ എനിക്ക് തന്ന വചനം ഞാൻ അവർക്ക് കൊടുത്തു; അവർ അത് സ്വീകരിക്കുകയും ഞാൻ നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽനിന്ന് വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു സത്യമായിട്ട് അറിഞ്ഞും നീ എന്നെ അയച്ചു എന്നു വിശ്വസിച്ചുമിരിക്കുന്നു.

for I have given them the teaching which you gave me, and they received it, and clearly understood that I came from you, and they believed that you have sent me as your messenger.

9 ൯ ഞാൻ അവർക്ക് വേണ്ടി പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കുന്നു; ലോകത്തിനു വേണ്ടി അല്ല; നീ എനിക്ക് തന്നിട്ടുള്ളവർ നിനക്കുള്ളവർ ആകകൊണ്ട് അവർക്ക് വേണ്ടിയത്രേ ഞാൻ പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കുന്നത്.

I intercede for them; I am not interceding for the world, but for those whom you have given me, for they are your own –

10 ൧൦ എന്റേത് എല്ലാം നിന്റേതും നിന്റേത് എന്റേതും ആകുന്നു; ഞാൻ അവരിൽ മഹത്വപ്പെട്ടുമിരിക്കുന്നു.

All that is mine is yours, and all that is yours is mine – and I am honoured in them.

11 ൧൧ ഇനി ഞാൻ ലോകത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നില്ല; ഇവരോ ലോകത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; ഞാൻ നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരുന്നു. പരിശുദ്ധപിതാവേ, അവർ നമ്മെപ്പോലെ ഒന്നാകേണ്ടതിന് നീ എനിക്ക് തന്നിരിക്കുന്ന നിന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ അവരെ കാത്തുകൊള്ളേണമേ.

Now I am to be in this world no longer, but they are still to be in the world, and I am to come to you. Holy Father, keep them by that revelation of your name which you have given me, so that they may be one, as we are.

12 ൧൨ അവരോടുകൂടെ ഇരുന്നപ്പോൾ ഞാൻ അവരെ നീ എനിക്ക് തന്നിരിക്കുന്ന നിന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ കാത്തുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു; ഞാൻ അവരെ സൂക്ഷിച്ച്; തിരുവെഴുത്തിന് നിവൃത്തി വരേണ്ടതിന് ആ നാശത്തിന്റെ പുത്രനല്ലാതെ അവരിൽ ആരും നശിച്ചുപോയിട്ടില്ല.

While I was with them, I kept them by that revelation, and I have guarded them; and not one of them has been lost, except that lost soul – in fulfilment of scripture.

13 ൧൩ ഇപ്പോഴോ ഞാൻ നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരുന്നു; എന്റെ സന്തോഷം അവർക്ക് ഉള്ളിൽ പൂർണ്ണമാകേണ്ടതിന് ഞാൻ ഇതു ലോകത്തിൽവെച്ചു സംസാരിക്കുന്നു.

But now I am to come to you; and I am speaking like this, while still in the world, so that they may have my own joy, in all its fullness, in their hearts.

14 ൧൪ ഞാൻ അവർക്ക് നിന്റെ വചനം കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞാൻ ലൗകികനല്ലാത്തതുപോലെ അവരും ലൗകികന്മാരല്ലാത്തതുകൊണ്ട് ലോകം അവരെ വെറുത്തു.

I have given them your message; and the world hated them, because they do not belong to the world, even as I do not belong to the world.

15 ൧൫ അവരെ ലോകത്തിൽ നിന്നു എടുക്കണം എന്നല്ല, ദുഷ്ടന്റെ കയ്യിൽ അകപ്പെടാതവണ്ണം അവരെ കാത്തുകൊള്ളേണം എന്നത്രേ ഞാൻ പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കുന്നത്.

I do not ask you to take them out of the world, but to keep them from evil.

16 ൧൬ ഞാൻ ലൗകികനല്ലാത്തതുപോലെ അവരും ലൗകികന്മാരല്ല.

They do not belong to the world, even as I do not belong to the world.

17 ൧൭ സത്യത്താൽ അവരെ വിശുദ്ധീകരിക്കേണമേ, നിന്റെ വചനം സത്യം ആകുന്നു.

Consecrate them by the truth; your message is truth.

18 ൧൮ നീ എന്നെ ലോകത്തിലേക്കു അയച്ചു; ഞാൻ അവരെയും ലോകത്തിലേക്കു അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

Just as you have sent me as your messenger to the world, so I send them as my messengers to the world.

19 ൧൯ അവരും സത്യത്താൽ വിശുദ്ധീകരിക്കപ്പെടേണ്ടതിന് അവർക്ക് വേണ്ടി ഞാൻ എന്നെത്തന്നെ വിശുദ്ധീകരിക്കുന്നു.

And it is for their sakes that I am consecrating myself, so that they also may be truly consecrated.

20 ൨൦ ഇവർക്ക് വേണ്ടി മാത്രമല്ല, ഇവരുടെ വചനത്താൽ എന്നിൽ വിശ്വസിപ്പാനിരിക്കുന്നവർക്കു വേണ്ടിയും ഞാൻ പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കുന്നു.

But it is not only for them that I am interceding, but also for those who believe in me through their message,

21 ൨൧ അവർ എല്ലാവരും ഒന്നാകേണ്ടതിന്, പിതാവേ, നീ എന്നിലും ഞാൻ നിന്നിലും ആകുന്നതുപോലെ അവരും നമ്മിൽ ആകേണ്ടതിനും, നീ എന്നെ അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ലോകം വിശ്വസിക്കേണ്ടതിനും പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കുന്നു.

that they all may be one – that as you, Father, are in union with us – and so the world may believe that you have sent me as your messenger.

22 ൨൨ നീ എനിക്ക് തന്നിട്ടുള്ള മഹത്വം ഞാൻ അവർക്ക് കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു:

I have given them the honour which you have given me, so that they may be one as we are one –

23 ൨൩ നീ എന്നെ അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നും നീ എന്നെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ അവരെയും സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നു എന്നും ലോകം അറിയുവാൻ, നാം ഒന്നായിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ അവരും ഒന്നാകേണ്ടതിന് ഞാൻ അവരിലും നീ എന്നിലുമായി അവർ ഐക്യത്തിൽ തികഞ്ഞവരായിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന് തന്നെ.

I in union with them and you with me – so that they may be perfected in their union, and so that the world may know that you have sent me as your messenger, and that you have loved them as you have loved me.

24 ൨൪ പിതാവേ, നീ ലോകസ്ഥാപനത്തിന് മുമ്പെ എന്നെ സ്നേഹിച്ചരിക്കകൊണ്ട് എനിക്ക് നല്കിയ മഹത്വം നീ എനിക്ക് തന്നിട്ടുള്ളവർ കാണേണ്ടതിന് ഞാൻ ഇരിക്കുന്ന ഇടത്ത് അവരും എന്നോട് കൂടെ ഇരിക്കേണം എന്നു ഞാൻ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നു.

Father, my desire for all those whom you have given me is that they may be with me where I am, so that they may see the honour which you have given me; for you did love me before the beginning of the world.

25 ൨൫ നീതിയുള്ള പിതാവേ, ലോകം നിന്നെ അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ല; ഞാനോ നിന്നെ അറിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; നീ എന്നെ അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഇവരും അറിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

Righteous Father, though the world did not know you, I knew you; and these people knew that you have sent me as your messenger.

26 ൨൬ ഞാൻ നിന്റെ നാമം അവർക്ക് വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു; നീ എന്നെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്ന സ്നേഹം അവരിൽ ആകുവാനും ഞാൻ അവരിൽ ആകുവാനുമായി ഇനിയും അത് വെളിപ്പെടുത്തും.

I have made you known to them, and will do so still; that the love that you have had for me may be in their hearts, and that I may be in them also.’
