ഇയ്യോബ് 39

1 ൧ പാറയിലെ കാട്ടാടുകളുടെ പ്രസവകാലം നിനക്കറിയാമോ? മാൻപേടകളുടെ ഈറ്റുനോവ് നീ കാണുമോ?

“Do you know the time when the mountain goats give birth? Do you watch when the doe bears fawns?

2 ൨ അവയ്ക്ക് ഗർഭം തികയുന്ന മാസം നിനക്ക് കണക്ക് കൂട്ടാമോ? അവയുടെ പ്രസവകാലം നിനക്ക് അറിയാമോ?

Can you count the months that they fulfil? Or do you know the time when they give birth?

3 ൩ അവ കുനിഞ്ഞ് കുട്ടികളെ പ്രസവിക്കുന്നു; ക്ഷണത്തിൽ വേദന ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോകുന്നു.

They bow themselves. They bear their young. They end their labour pains.

4 ൪ അവയുടെ കുട്ടികൾ ബലപ്പെട്ട് കാട്ടിൽ വളരുന്നു; അവ പുറത്തേക്ക് പോകുന്നു; മടങ്ങിവരുന്നതുമില്ല.

Their young ones become strong. They grow up in the open field. They go out, and don’t return again.

5 ൫ കാട്ടുകഴുതയെ അഴിച്ചുവിട്ടത് ആര്? വനഗർദ്ദഭത്തെ കെട്ടഴിച്ചതാര്?

“Who has set the wild donkey free? Or who has loosened the bonds of the swift donkey,

6 ൬ ഞാൻ മരുഭൂമി അതിന് വീടും ഉവർനിലം അതിന് പാർപ്പിടവുമാക്കി.

whose home I have made the wilderness, and the salt land his dwelling place?

7 ൭ അത് പട്ടണത്തിലെ ആരവം കേട്ടു ചിരിക്കുന്നു; തെളിക്കുന്നവന്റെ ശബ്ദം ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുന്നതുമില്ല.

He scorns the tumult of the city, neither does he hear the shouting of the driver.

8 ൮ മലനിരകൾ അതിന്റെ മേച്ചല്പുറമാകുന്നു; പച്ചയായതൊക്കെയും അത് അന്വേഷിച്ചു നടക്കുന്നു.

The range of the mountains is his pasture. He searches after every green thing.

9 ൯ കാട്ടുപോത്ത് നിന്നെ സേവിക്കുവാൻ തയ്യാറാകുമോ? അത് നിന്റെ പുല്‍തൊട്ടിക്കരികിൽ രാത്രിയിൽ പാർക്കുമോ?

“Will the wild ox be content to serve you? Or will he stay by your feeding trough?

10 ൧൦ കാട്ടുപോത്തിനെ നിനക്ക് കയറിട്ട് ഉഴുവാൻ കൊണ്ടുപോകാമോ? അത് നിന്റെ പിന്നാലെ നിലം നിരത്തുമോ?

Can you hold the wild ox in the furrow with his harness? Or will he till the valleys after you?

11 ൧൧ അതിന്റെ ശക്തി വലിയാതാകയാൽ നീ അതിനെ വിശ്വസിക്കുമോ? നിന്റെ വേല നീ അതിന് ഭരമേല്പിച്ച് കൊടുക്കുമോ?

Will you trust him, because his strength is great? Or will you leave to him your labour?

12 ൧൨ അത് നിന്റെ വിത്ത് കൊണ്ടുവരുമെന്നും നിന്റെ കളപ്പുരയിൽ കൂട്ടുമെന്നും നീ വിശ്വസിക്കുമോ?

Will you confide in him, that he will bring home your seed, and gather the grain of your threshing floor?

13 ൧൩ ഒട്ടകപ്പക്ഷി ഉല്ലസിച്ച് ചിറക് വീശുന്നു; എങ്കിലും ചിറകും തൂവലുംകൊണ്ട് വാത്സല്യം കാണിക്കുമോ?

“The wings of the ostrich wave proudly, but are they the feathers and plumage of love?

14 ൧൪ അത് നിലത്ത് മുട്ട ഇട്ടശേഷം പോകുന്നു; അവയെ പൊടിയിൽ വച്ച് വിരിയിക്കുന്നു.

For she leaves her eggs on the earth, warms them in the dust,

15 ൧൫ കാൽ കൊണ്ട് അവ ഉടഞ്ഞുപോയേക്കുമെന്നോ കാട്ടുമൃഗം അവയെ ചവിട്ടിക്കളഞ്ഞേക്കുമെന്നോ അത് ഓർക്കുന്നില്ല.

and forgets that the foot may crush them, or that the wild animal may trample them.

16 ൧൬ അത് തന്റെ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളോട് തനിക്കുള്ളവയല്ല എന്നപോലെ കാഠിന്യം കാണിക്കുന്നു; തന്റെ പ്രയത്നം വ്യർത്ഥമായിപ്പോകുമെന്ന് ഭയപ്പെടുന്നില്ല.

She deals harshly with her young ones, as if they were not hers. Though her labour is in vain, she is without fear,

17 ൧൭ ദൈവം അതിന് ജ്ഞാനമില്ലാതാക്കി വിവേകം അതിന് നല്കിയിട്ടും ഇല്ല.

because God has deprived her of wisdom, neither has he imparted to her understanding.

18 ൧൮ അത് ചിറകടിച്ച് പൊങ്ങി ഓടുമ്പോൾ കുതിരയെയും പുറത്ത് കയറിയവനെയും പരിഹസിക്കുന്നു.

When she lifts up herself on high, she scorns the horse and his rider.

19 ൧൯ കുതിരയ്ക്ക് നീയോ ശക്തി കൊടുത്തത്? അതിന്റെ കഴുത്തിന് നീയോ കുഞ്ചിരോമം അണിയിച്ചത്?

“Have you given the horse might? Have you clothed his neck with a quivering mane?

20 ൨൦ നിനക്ക് അതിനെ വെട്ടുക്കിളിയെപ്പോലെ ചാടിക്കാമോ? അതിന്റെ ഹുങ്കാരപ്രതാപം ഭയങ്കരം.

Have you made him to leap as a locust? The glory of his snorting is awesome.

21 ൨൧ അത് താഴ്വരയിൽ മാന്തി ശക്തിയിൽ ഉല്ലസിക്കുന്നു. അത് ആയുധപാണികളെ എതിർക്കുന്നു.

He paws in the valley, and rejoices in his strength. He goes out to meet the armed men.

22 ൨൨ അത് കൂശാതെ ഭയത്തെ പുച്ഛിക്കുന്നു; വാളിനോട് പിൻവാങ്ങുന്നതുമില്ല.

He mocks at fear, and is not dismayed, neither does he turn back from the sword.

23 ൨൩ അതിന് എതിരെ ആവനാഴിയും മിന്നുന്ന കുന്തവും ശൂലവും കിലുകിലുക്കുന്നു.

The quiver rattles against him, the flashing spear and the javelin.

24 ൨൪ അത് ഉഗ്രതയും കോപവും പൂണ്ട് നിലം വിഴുങ്ങുന്നു; കാഹളനാദം കേട്ടാൽ അത് അടങ്ങിനില്ക്കുകയില്ല.

He eats up the ground with fierceness and rage, neither does he stand still at the sound of the shofar.

25 ൨൫ കാഹളനാദം ധ്വനിക്കുന്തോറും അത് ഹാ, ഹാ എന്ന് ചിനയ്ക്കുന്നു; പടയും പടനായകന്മാരുടെ മുഴക്കവും ആർപ്പും ദൂരത്തുനിന്ന് മണക്കുന്നു.

As often as the shofar sounds he snorts, ‘Aha!’ He smells the battle afar off, the thunder of the captains, and the shouting.

26 ൨൬ നിന്റെ വിവേകത്താൽ ആകുന്നുവോ പരുന്ത് പറക്കുകയും ചിറകു തെക്കോട്ട് വിടർക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതു?

“Is it by your wisdom that the hawk soars, and stretches her wings towards the south?

27 ൨൭ നിന്റെ കല്പനക്കോ കഴുകൻ മേലോട്ട് പറക്കുകയും ഉയരത്തിൽ കൂടുവയ്ക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതു?

Is it at your command that the eagle mounts up, and makes his nest on high?

28 ൨൮ അത് പാറയിൽ കുടിയേറി രാത്രി പാർക്കുന്നു; പാറമുകളിലും ദുർഗ്ഗത്തിലും തന്നെ.

On the cliff he dwells and makes his home, on the point of the cliff and the stronghold.

29 ൨൯ അവിടെനിന്ന് അത് ഇര തിരയുന്നു; അതിന്റെ കണ്ണ് ദൂരത്തേക്കു കാണുന്നു.

From there he spies out the prey. His eyes see it afar off.

30 ൩൦ അതിന്റെ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങൾ ചോര വലിച്ചുകുടിക്കുന്നു. പട്ടുപോയവർ എവിടെയോ അവിടെ അതുണ്ട്”.

His young ones also suck up blood. Where the slain are, there he is.”
