ഇയ്യോബ് 20

1 ൧ അതിന് നയമാത്യനായ സോഫർ ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞത്:

Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said,

2 ൨ “ഉത്തരം പറയുവാൻ എന്റെ നിരൂപണങ്ങൾ പൊങ്ങിവരുന്നു. എന്റെ ഉള്ളിലെ അക്ഷമ കാരണം തന്നെ.

Therefore do my thoughts give answer to me, even by reason of my haste that is in me.

3 ൩ എനിയ്ക്ക് ലജ്ജാകരമായ ശാസന ഞാൻ കേട്ടു; എന്നാൽ ആത്മാവ് എന്റെ വിവേകത്തിൽ നിന്ന് ഉത്തരം പറയുന്നു.

I have heard the reproof which putteth me to shame, and the spirit of my understanding answereth me.

4 ൪ മനുഷ്യൻ ഭൂമിയിൽ ഉണ്ടായതുമുതൽ പുരാതനമായ ഈ വസ്തുത നീ അറിയുന്നില്ലയോ?

Knowest thou [not] this of old time, since man was placed upon earth,

5 ൫ ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ ജയഘോഷം താല്ക്കാലികമത്രെ; അഭക്തന്റെ സന്തോഷം അല്പനേരത്തേക്കേയുള്ളു.

That the triumphing of the wicked is short, and the joy of the godless but for a moment?

6 ൬ അവന്റെ ഉയർച്ച ആകാശത്തോളം എത്തിയാലും അവന്റെ ശിരസ്സ് മേഘങ്ങളോളം ഉയർന്നാലും

Though his excellency mount up to the heavens, and his head reach unto the clouds;

7 ൭ അവൻ സ്വന്തവിസർജ്ജ്യംപോലെ എന്നേക്കും നശിക്കും; അവനെ കണ്ടിട്ടുള്ളവർ അവൻ എവിടെ എന്നു ചോദിക്കും.

Yet he shall perish for ever like his own dung: they which have seen him shall say, Where is he?

8 ൮ അവൻ സ്വപ്നംപോലെ പറന്നുപോകും. അവനെ പിന്നെ കാണുകയില്ല; അവൻ രാത്രിദർശനംപോലെ മറഞ്ഞുപോകും.

He shall fly away as a dream, and shall not be found: yea, he shall be chased away as a vision of the night.

9 ൯ അവനെ കണ്ടിട്ടുള്ള കണ്ണ് ഇനി അവനെ കാണുകയില്ല; അവന്റെ സ്ഥലം ഇനി അവനെ ദർശിക്കുകയുമില്ല.

The eye which saw him shall see him no more; neither shall his place any more behold him.

10 ൧൦ അവന്റെ മക്കൾ ദരിദ്രന്മാരോട് കൃപ യാചിക്കും; അവന്റെ കൈ അവന്റെ സമ്പത്ത് മടക്കിക്കൊടുക്കും.

His children shall seek the favour of the poor, and his hands shall give back his wealth.

11 ൧൧ അവന്റെ അസ്ഥികളിൽ യൗവ്വനം നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; അത് അവനോടുകൂടി പൊടിയിൽ കിടക്കും.

His bones are full of his youth, but it shall lie down with him in the dust.

12 ൧൨ ദുഷ്ടത അവന്റെ വായിൽ മധുരിച്ചാലും അവൻ അത് നാവിനടിയിൽ മറച്ചുവച്ചാലും

Though wickedness be sweet in his mouth, though he hide it under his tongue;

13 ൧൩ അതിനെ വിടാതെ പിടിച്ച് വായ്ക്കകത്ത് സൂക്ഷിച്ചുവച്ചാലും

Though he spare it, and will not let it go, but keep it still within his mouth;

14 ൧൪ അവന്റെ ആഹാരം അവന്റെ കുടലിൽ മാറ്റപ്പെട്ട് അവന്റെ ഉള്ളിൽ സർപ്പവിഷമായിത്തീരും.

Yet his meat in his bowels is turned, it is the gall of asps within him.

15 ൧൫ അവൻ സമ്പത്ത് വിഴുങ്ങിയാലും അത് വീണ്ടും ഛർദ്ദിക്കേണ്ടിവരും; ദൈവം അത് അവന്റെ വയറ്റിൽനിന്ന് പുറത്താക്കിക്കളയും.

He hath swallowed down riches, and he shall vomit them up again: God shall cast them out of his belly.

16 ൧൬ അവൻ സർപ്പവിഷം നുകരും അണലിയുടെ നാവ് അവനെ കൊല്ലും.

He shall suck the poison of asps: the viper’s tongue shall slay him.

17 ൧൭ തേനും പാൽപാടയും ഒഴുകുന്ന തോടുകളെയും നദികളെയും അവൻ കണ്ടു രസിക്കുകയില്ല.

He shall not look upon the rivers, the flowing streams of honey and butter.

18 ൧൮ തന്റെ സമ്പാദ്യം അവൻ അനുഭവിക്കാതെ മടക്കിക്കൊടുക്കും; താൻ നേടിയ വസ്തുവകയ്ക്ക് ഒത്തവണ്ണം സന്തോഷിക്കുകയുമില്ല.

That which he laboured for shall he restore, and shall not swallow it down; according to the substance that he hath gotten, he shall not rejoice.

19 ൧൯ അവൻ ദരിദ്രന്മാരെ പീഡിപ്പിച്ച് ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു; താൻ പണിയാത്ത വീട് അപഹരിച്ചു.

For he hath oppressed and forsaken the poor; he hath violently taken away an house, and he shall not build it up.

20 ൨൦ അവന്റെ കൊതിക്ക് മതിവരാത്തതുകൊണ്ട് അവൻ തന്റെ മനോഹരധനത്തോടുകൂടി രക്ഷപെടുകയില്ല.

Because he knew no quietness within him, he shall not save aught of that wherein he delighteth.

21 ൨൧ അവൻ ഭക്ഷിക്കാനുള്ളതല്ലാതെ ഒന്നും ശേഷിപ്പിക്കുകയില്ല; അതുകൊണ്ട് അവന്റെ അഭിവൃദ്ധി നിലനില്‍ക്കുകയില്ല.

There was nothing left that he devoured not; therefore his prosperity shall not endure.

22 ൨൨ അവന്റെ സമൃദ്ധിയുടെ പൂർണ്ണതയിൽ അവന് ഞെരുക്കം ഉണ്ടാകും; ദരിദ്രന്മാരുടെ കൈ ഒക്കെയും അവന്റെമേൽ വരും.

In the fulness of his sufficiency he shall be in straits: the hand of every one that is in misery shall come upon him.

23 ൨൩ അവൻ വയറ് നിറയ്ക്കുമ്പോൾത്തന്നെ ദൈവം തന്റെ ഉഗ്രകോപം അവന്റെമേൽ അയയ്ക്കും; അവൻ ഭക്ഷിക്കുമ്പോൾ അത് അവന്റെമേൽ വർഷിപ്പിക്കും.

When he is about to fill his belly, [God] shall cast the fierceness of his wrath upon him, and shall rain it upon him while he is eating.

24 ൨൪ അവൻ ഇരുമ്പായുധം ഒഴിഞ്ഞോടും; താമ്ര വില്ല് അവനിൽ തറഞ്ഞുകയറും.

He shall flee from the iron weapon, and the bow of brass shall strike him through.

25 ൨൫ അവൻ അത് അവന്റെ ദേഹത്തിൽനിന്ന് പുറത്തേക്ക് വലിച്ചൂരുന്നു; മിന്നുന്ന മുന അവന്റെ പിത്തഗ്രന്ഥിയിൽനിന്ന് പുറപ്പെടുന്നു; കൊടും ഭീതി അവന്റെമേൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

He draweth it forth, and it cometh out of his body: yea, the glittering point cometh out of his gall; terrors are upon him.

26 ൨൬ അന്ധകാരമെല്ലാം അവന്റെ നിക്ഷേപമായി സംഗ്രഹിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; ആരും ഊതിക്കത്തിക്കാത്ത തീയ്ക്ക് അവൻ ഇരയാകും; അവന്റെ കൂടാരത്തിൽ ശേഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതിനെ അത് ദഹിപ്പിക്കും;

All darkness is laid up for his treasures: a fire not blown [by man] shall devour him; it shall consume that which is left in his tent.

27 ൨൭ ആകാശം അവന്റെ അകൃത്യത്തെ വെളിപ്പെടുത്തും ഭൂമി അവന് എതിരായി സാക്ഷ്യം പറയും.

The heavens shall reveal his iniquity, and the earth shall rise up against him.

28 ൨൮ അവന്റെ വീട്ടിലെ ധനം ഇല്ലാതെയാകും; ദൈവത്തിന്റെ കോപദിവസത്തിൽ അവ ഒഴുകിപ്പോകും.

The increase of his house shall depart, [his goods] shall flow away in the day of his wrath.

29 ൨൯ ഇത് ദുഷ്ടന് ദൈവം കൊടുക്കുന്ന ഓഹരിയും ദൈവം അവന് നിയമിച്ച അവകാശവും ആകുന്നു”.

This is the portion of a wicked man from God, and the heritage appointed unto him by God.
