2 ദിനവൃത്താന്തം 16
1 ൧ ആസ വാഴ്ചതുടങ്ങി മുപ്പത്താറാം ആണ്ടിൽ യിസ്രായേൽ രാജാവായ ബയെശാ യെഹൂദക്കെതിരെ പുറപ്പെട്ടു; ആസയുടെ അടുക്കൽ വരുകയോ പോകയോ ചെയ്യാൻ ആരെയും സമ്മതിക്കാതെ രാമയെ ഉറപ്പായി പണിതു.
In the six and thirtieth year of the reign of Asa, Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah, and built Ramah, that he might not allow anyone to go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.
2 ൨ അപ്പോൾ ആസ, യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലെയും രാജധാനിയിലെയും ഭണ്ഡാരങ്ങളിൽനിന്ന് വെള്ളിയും പൊന്നും എടുത്ത് ദമ്മേശെക്കിൽ വസിച്ച അരാം രാജാവായ ബെൻ-ഹദദിന് കൊടുത്തയച്ചു:
Then Asa brought out silver and gold out of the treasures of the house of the LORD and of the king's house, and sent to Ben Hadad king of Aram, who lived at Damascus, saying,
3 ൩ എന്റെ അപ്പനും നിന്റെ അപ്പനും തമ്മിൽ സഖ്യതയുണ്ടായിരുന്നതുപോലെ നമുക്കു തമ്മിൽ സഖ്യതയിൽ ഏർപ്പെടാം; ഇതാ, ഞാൻ നിനക്ക് വെള്ളിയും പൊന്നും കൊടുത്തയക്കുന്നു; യിസ്രായേൽ രാജാവായ ബയെശാ എന്നെവിട്ടു പോകേണ്ടതിന് നീ അവനോടുള്ള നിന്റെ സഖ്യത ത്യജിക്കേണം എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു.
"Let there be a treaty between me and you, as there was between my father and your father. Look, I have sent you silver and gold. Go, break your treaty with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me."
4 ൪ ബെൻ-ഹദദ് ആസാരാജാവിന്റെ വാക്കുകേട്ട് തന്റെ സേനാധിപതിമാരെ യിസ്രായേൽ പട്ടണങ്ങൾക്കു നേരെ അയച്ചു; അവർ ഈയോനും ദാനും ആബേൽ-മയീമും നഫ്താലിയുടെ സകല സംഭരണ നഗരങ്ങളും പിടിച്ചടക്കി.
Ben Hadad listened to king Asa, and sent the captains of his armies against the cities of Israel; and they struck Ijon, and Dan, and Abel Maim, and all the storage cities of Naphtali.
It happened, when Baasha heard of it, that he left off building Ramah, and let his work cease.
6 ൬ അപ്പോൾ ആസാ രാജാവ് എല്ലാ യെഹൂദ്യരെയും കൂട്ടി, ബയെശാ പണിത രാമയുടെ കല്ലും മരവും എടുത്തുകൊണ്ടുപോയി; അവൻ അവ കൊണ്ട് ഗിബ, മിസ്പ, എന്നീ പട്ടണങ്ങൾ പണിതു.
Then Asa the king took all Judah; and they carried away the stones of Ramah, and its timber, with which Baasha had built; and he built therewith Geba and Mizpah.
7 ൭ ആ കാലത്ത് ദർശകനായ ഹനാനി യെഹൂദാ രാജാവായ ആസയുടെ അടുക്കൽവന്ന് അവനോട് പറഞ്ഞത് എന്തെന്നാൽ: “നീ നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയിൽ ആശ്രയിക്കാതെ അരാം രാജാവിൽ ആശ്രയിക്ക കൊണ്ട് അരാം രാജാവിന്റെ സൈന്യം നിന്റെ കയ്യിൽനിന്ന് രക്ഷപെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.
At that time Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah, and said to him, "Because you have relied on the king of Aram, and have not relied on the LORD your God, therefore is the army of the king of Aram escaped out of your hand.
8 ൮ എത്യോപ്യരും, ലൂബ്യരും അനവധി രഥങ്ങളോടും കുതിരപ്പടയാളികളോടും കൂടിയ ഒരു മഹാ സൈന്യമായിരുന്നില്ലയോ? എന്നാൽ നീ യഹോവയിൽ ആശ്രയിക്ക കൊണ്ട് യഹോവ അവരെ നിന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിച്ചുതന്നു.
Weren't the Ethiopians and the Lubim a huge army, with chariots and horsemen exceeding many? Yet, because you relied on the LORD, he delivered them into your hand.
9 ൯ യഹോവയുടെ കണ്ണ് തന്നിൽ ഏകാഗ്രചിത്തന്മാരായിരിക്കുന്നവർക്കു വേണ്ടി തന്നേത്തന്നെ ബലവാൻ എന്ന് കാണിക്കേണ്ടതിന് ഭൂമിയിലെല്ലാടവും നോക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; ഇക്കാര്യത്തിൽ നീ ഭോഷത്തം പ്രവർത്തിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ട് ഇനി നിനക്ക് യുദ്ധങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടാകും”.
For the eyes of the LORD run back and forth throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein you have done foolishly; for from now on you shall have wars."
10 ൧൦ അപ്പോൾ ആസ ദർശകനോട് കോപിച്ച് അവനെ കാരാഗൃഹത്തിൽ ആക്കി; ഈ കാര്യം ആസയെ ഉഗ്രകോപിയാക്കി. ആ നാളുകളിൽ ആസ ജനത്തിൽ ചിലരെ പീഡിപ്പിക്കയും ചെയ്തു.
Then Asa was angry with the seer, and put him in the prison; for he was in a rage with him because of this thing. Asa oppressed some of the people at the same time.
11 ൧൧ ആസയുടെ വൃത്താന്തങ്ങൾ ആദ്യവസാനം യെഹൂദയിലെയും യിസ്രായേലിലെയും രാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ പുസ്തകങ്ങളിൽ രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.
Look, the acts of Asa, first and last, look, they are written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.
12 ൧൨ തന്റെ വാഴ്ചയുടെ മുപ്പത്തൊമ്പതാം ആണ്ടിൽ ആസയുടെ കാലുകളിൽ അതികഠിനമായ രോഗം പിടിച്ചു; എന്നാൽ അവൻ തന്റെ രോഗത്തിൽ യഹോവയെ അല്ല, വൈദ്യന്മാരെ അത്രേ അന്വേഷിച്ചത്.
In the thirty-ninth year of his reign Asa was diseased in his feet; his disease was exceeding great: yet in his disease he did not seek the LORD, but to the physicians.
Asa slept with his fathers, and died in the one and fortieth year of his reign.
14 ൧൪ അവൻ ദാവീദിന്റെ നഗരത്തിൽ തനിക്കായി ഉണ്ടാക്കിയിരുന്ന കല്ലറയിൽ അവർ അവനെ അടക്കം ചെയ്തു; വൈദ്യന്മാരുടെ വിധിപ്രകാരം ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ സുഗന്ധവർഗ്ഗവും പലതരം പരിമളസാധനങ്ങളും നിറെച്ചിരുന്ന ശയ്യമേൽ അവനെ കിടത്തുകയും അവനുവേണ്ടി വലിയോരു ദഹനം ഉണ്ടാക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.
They buried him in his own tomb that he had dug out in the City of David, and laid him in the bed which was filled with spices and various kinds of sweet-scented herbs prepared by the perfumers' art, and they made a very great fire for him.
