1 കൊരിന്ത്യർ 6

1 ൧ നിങ്ങളിൽ ഒരാൾക്ക് മറ്റൊരാളോട് ഒരു അന്യായം ഉണ്ടെങ്കിൽ വിശുദ്ധന്മാരുടെ മുമ്പാകെ പരിഹാരത്തിന് പോകാതെ അഭക്തന്മാരുടെ മുൻപിൽ പോകുവാൻ തുനിയുന്നുവോ?

Can it be that, when one of you has a dispute with another, they dare to have their case tried before the heathen, instead of before Christ’s people?

2 ൨ വിശുദ്ധന്മാർ ലോകത്തെ വിധിക്കും എന്ന് നിങ്ങൾ അറിയുന്നില്ലയോ? ലോകത്തെ നിങ്ങൾ വിധിക്കുമെങ്കിൽ ഏറ്റവും ചെറിയ സംഗതികളെയും വിധിക്കുവാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് സാധിക്കുകയില്ലയോ?

Don’t you know that Christ’s people will try the world? And if the world is to be tried by you, are you unfit to try the most trivial cases?

3 ൩ നാം ദൂതന്മാരെ വിധിക്കും എന്ന് നിങ്ങൾ അറിയുന്നില്ലയോ? എന്നാൽ ഈ ജീവിതത്തെ സംബന്ധിക്കുന്നവയെ എത്ര അധികം?

Don’t you know that we are to try angels – to say nothing of the affairs of this life?

4 ൪ അതുകൊണ്ട് നിങ്ങൾക്ക് ഈ ജീവിതത്തെ സംബന്ധിച്ച കാര്യങ്ങളിൽ അന്യായം ഉണ്ടെങ്കിൽ വിധിക്കുവാൻ സഭ ഗണ്യമാക്കാത്തവരെ നിയമിക്കുന്നുവോ?

Why, then, if you have cases relating to the affairs of this life, do you set to try them those who carry no weight with the church? To your shame I ask it.

5 ൫ നിങ്ങളുടെ ലജ്ജയ്ക്കായി ഞാൻ ഇത് പറയുന്നു. സഹോദരന്മാർക്കു മദ്ധ്യേ കാര്യം തീർപ്പാക്കുവാൻ പ്രാപ്തിയുള്ളൊരു ജ്ഞാനിയും നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ ഇല്ലയോ?

Can it be that there is not one among you wise enough to decide between two of their fellow followers?

6 ൬ എന്നാൽ, ഒരു വിശ്വാസി മറ്റൊരു വിശ്വാസിയോടു വ്യവഹരിക്കുന്നു; അതും അവിശ്വാസികളുടെ മുമ്പിൽ തന്നെ.

Must a follower sue a fellow follower? In front of unbelievers?

7 ൭ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ അന്യായം ഉണ്ടാകുന്നത് തന്നെ കേവലം പോരായ്മയാകുന്നു; അതിന് പകരം നിങ്ങൾ അന്യായം സഹിച്ചുകൊള്ളാത്തത് എന്ത്? നഷ്ടം ഏറ്റുകൊള്ളാത്തത് എന്ത്?

To begin with, it is undoubtedly a loss to you to have lawsuits with one another. Why not rather let yourselves be wronged? Why not rather let yourselves be cheated?

8 ൮ പക്ഷേ, നിങ്ങൾതന്നെ സഹോദരന്മാർക്കു അന്യായം ചെയ്യുകയും, നഷ്ടം വരുത്തുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു;

Instead of this, you wrong and cheat others yourselves – yes, even other followers!

9 ൯ അനീതി ചെയ്യുന്നവർ ദൈവരാജ്യം അവകാശമാക്കുകയില്ല എന്ന് അറിയുന്നില്ലയോ? നിങ്ങളെത്തന്നെ വഞ്ചിക്കാതിരിക്കുവിൻ; ദുർന്നടപ്പുകാരോ, വിഗ്രഹാരാധികളോ, വ്യഭിചാരികളോ, സ്വയഭോഗികളോ, പുരുഷകാമികളോ,

Don’t you know that wrongdoers will have no share in God’s kingdom? Do not be deceived. No one who is immoral, or an idolater, or an adulterer, or licentious, or a sexual pervert,

10 ൧൦ കള്ളന്മാരോ, അത്യാഗ്രഹികളോ, മദ്യപന്മാരോ, അസഭ്യം പറയുന്നവരോ, വഞ്ചകന്മാരോ ദൈവരാജ്യം അവകാശമാക്കുകയില്ല.

or a thief, or covetous, or a drunkard, or abusive, or grasping, will have any share in God’s kingdom.

11 ൧൧ നിങ്ങളും ചിലർ ഈ വകക്കാരായിരുന്നു; എങ്കിലും നിങ്ങൾ കഴുകപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു, നിങ്ങൾ ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; കർത്താവായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ നാമത്തിലും നമ്മുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആത്മാവിനാലും നിങ്ങൾ നീതീകരണവും പ്രാപിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

Such some of you used to be; but you washed yourselves clean. You became Christ’s people! You were pronounced righteous through the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, and through the Spirit of our God!

12 ൧൨ എല്ലാം എനിക്ക് നിയമാനുസൃതമാണ് എങ്കിലും സകലവും പ്രയോജനമുള്ളതല്ല; എല്ലാം എനിക്ക് നിയമാനുസൃതമാണ് എങ്കിലും ഞാൻ യാതൊന്നിനും അടിമപ്പെടുകയില്ല.

Everything is allowable for me! Yes, but everything is not profitable. Everything is allowable for me! Yes, but for my part, I will not let myself be enslaved by anything.

13 ൧൩ ആഹാരം വയറിനും വയറ് ആഹാരങ്ങൾക്കും ഉള്ളത്; എന്നാൽ ദൈവം ഇതിനെയും അതിനെയും ഇല്ലാതെയാക്കും. ശരീരമോ ദുർന്നടപ്പിനല്ല, കർത്താവിനത്രേ; കർത്താവ് ശരീരത്തിനും.

Food exists for the stomach, and the stomach for food; but God will put an end to both the one and the other. The body, however, exists, not for immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body;

14 ൧൪ എന്നാൽ ദൈവം കർത്താവിനെ ഉയിർപ്പിച്ചതുപോലെ നമ്മെയും തന്റെ ശക്തിയാൽ ഉയിർപ്പിക്കും.

and, as God has raised the Lord, so he will raise us up also by the exercise of his power.

15 ൧൫ നിങ്ങളുടെ ശരീരങ്ങൾ ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ അവയവങ്ങൾ ആകുന്നു എന്ന് അറിയുന്നില്ലയോ? ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ അവയവങ്ങളെ ഞാൻ എടുത്ത് വേശ്യയുടെ അവയവങ്ങൾ ആക്കുമോ? ഒരുനാളും അരുത്.

Don’t you know that your bodies are Christ’s members? Am I, then, to take the members that belong to the Christ and make them the members of a prostitute? Heaven forbid!

16 ൧൬ വേശ്യയോട് പറ്റിച്ചേരുന്നവൻ അവളുമായി ഏകശരീരമാകുന്നു എന്ന് നിങ്ങൾ അറിയുന്നില്ലയോ? ഇരുവരും ഒരു ദേഹമായിത്തീരും എന്നുണ്ടല്ലോ.

Or don’t you know that a man who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body (for “the two,” it is said, “will become one”);

17 ൧൭ എന്നാൽ കർത്താവിനോട് പറ്റിച്ചേരുന്നവനോ അവനുമായി ഏകാത്മാവ് ആകുന്നു.

while a man who is united with the Lord is one with him in spirit?

18 ൧൮ ദുർന്നടപ്പ് വിട്ട് ഓടുവിൻ. മനുഷ്യൻ ചെയ്യുന്ന ഏത് പാപവും ശരീരത്തിന് പുറത്താകുന്നു. ദുർന്നടപ്പുകാരനോ സ്വന്തശരീരത്തിന് വിരോധമായി പാപം ചെയ്യുന്നു.

Shun all immorality. Every other sin that people commit is something outside the body; but an immoral person sins against their own body.

19 ൧൯ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ദാനമായി നിങ്ങളിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്ന പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിന്റെ മന്ദിരമാകുന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ ശരീരം എന്നും നിങ്ങളെ വിലയ്ക്കു വാങ്ങിയിരിക്കുകയാൽ നിങ്ങൾ ഇനി നിങ്ങൾക്കുള്ളവരല്ല എന്നും അറിയുന്നില്ലയോ?

Again, don’t you know that your body is a shrine of the Holy Spirit that is within you – the Spirit which you have from God?

20 ൨൦ ആകയാൽ നിങ്ങളുടെ ശരീരംകൊണ്ട് ദൈവത്തെ മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തുവിൻ.

Moreover, you are not your own masters; you were bought, and the price was paid. Therefore, honour God in your bodies.
