1 കൊരിന്ത്യർ 4
1 ൧ ഞങ്ങളെ, ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ ശുശ്രൂഷക്കാരും ദൈവികമർമ്മങ്ങളുടെ ഗൃഹവിചാരകന്മാരും ആയി ഓരോരുത്തൻ കരുതട്ടെ.
Let people look on us as Christ’s servants, and as stewards of the hidden truths of God.
Now what we look for in stewards is that they should be trustworthy.
3 ൩ എന്നാൽ, നിങ്ങളോ, മനുഷ്യനിർമ്മിതമായ കോടതികളോ, എന്നെ വിധിക്കുന്നത് എനിക്ക് വളരെ ചെറിയ കാര്യമാണ്; ഞാൻ എന്നെത്തന്നെ വിധിക്കുന്നതുമില്ല.
But it weighs very little with me that I am judged by you or by any human tribunal. No, I do not even judge myself;
4 ൪ എന്തെന്നാൽ എന്റെ യാതൊരു കുറ്റത്തെക്കുറിച്ചും എനിക്ക് ബോധ്യമില്ലെങ്കിലും, ഞാൻ കുറ്റവിമുക്തൻ എന്നു വരികയില്ല; എന്നെ വിധിക്കുന്നത് കർത്താവ് ആകുന്നു.
for, though I am conscious of nothing against myself, that does not prove me innocent. It is the Lord who is my judge.
5 ൫ ആകയാൽ കർത്താവ് വരുവോളം സമയത്തിനു മുമ്പെ ഒന്നും വിധിക്കരുത്; അവൻ ഇരുട്ടിൽ മറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നത് വെളിച്ചത്താക്കുകയും ഹൃദയങ്ങളുടെ ആലോചനകളെ വെളിപ്പെടുത്തുകയും ചെയ്യും; അന്ന് ഓരോരുത്തർക്കും ദൈവത്തിൽനിന്ന് പുകഴ്ച ലഭിക്കും.
Therefore do not pass judgment before the time, but wait until the Lord comes. He will throw light on what is now dark and obscure, and will reveal the motives in people’s minds; and then everyone will receive due praise from God.
6 ൬ സഹോദരന്മാരേ, ഇത് ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾ നിമിത്തം എന്നെയും അപ്പൊല്ലോസിനെയും ഉദ്ദേശിച്ച് പറഞ്ഞതാകുന്നു: എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതിന് അപ്പുറം ഭാവിക്കാതിരിക്കുക എന്നതിന് ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൃഷ്ടാന്തം കണ്ടു പഠിക്കേണ്ടതിനും, ആരും ഒരുവന് നേരെ മറ്റൊരുവനെ അനുകൂലിച്ച് നിഗളിക്കാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിനും തന്നെ.
All this, friends, I have, for your sakes, applied to Apollos and myself, so that, from our example, you may learn to observe the precept – “Keep to what is written,” that none of you may speak boastfully of one teacher to the disparagement of another.
7 ൭ എന്തെന്നാൽ, നിങ്ങളെ റ്വിശേഷതയുള്ളവരാക്കുന്നതാരാണ്? ലഭിച്ചതല്ലാതെ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് എന്തുള്ളു? ലഭിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കിലോ, ലഭിച്ചിട്ടില്ല എന്നതുപോലെ പ്രശംസിക്കുന്നത് എന്ത്? ഇപ്പോൾ നിങ്ങൾ തൃപ്തരാണ്,
For who makes any one of you superior to others? And what have you that was not given you? But if you received it as a gift, why do you boast as if you had not?
8 ൮ ഇപ്പോൾ സമ്പന്നരുമാണ്; ഞങ്ങളെ കൂടാതെ രാജാക്കന്മാരായി. തീർച്ചയായും, നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഞങ്ങളും വാഴേണ്ടതിന് നിങ്ങൾ രാജാക്കന്മാരായിരുന്നു എങ്കിൽ കൊള്ളാമായിരുന്നു.
Are you all so soon satisfied? Are you so soon rich? Have you begun to reign without us? Would indeed that you had, so that we also might reign with you!
9 ൯ എന്തെന്നാൽ ഞങ്ങൾ ലോകത്തിന്, ദൂതന്മാർക്കും മനുഷ്യർക്കും തന്നെ, കാഴ്ചവസ്തുവായി തീർന്നിരിക്കുന്നതിനാൽ, ദൈവം അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരായ ഞങ്ങളെ അവസാനം നിൽക്കുന്നവരായി, മരണവിധിയിൽ ഉൾപ്പെട്ടവരെപ്പോലെ, പ്രദർശിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്ന് എനിക്ക് തോന്നുന്നു.
For, as it seems to me, God has exhibited us, the apostles, last of all, as people doomed to death. We are made a spectacle to the universe, both to angels and to people!
10 ൧൦ ഞങ്ങൾ ക്രിസ്തുനിമിത്തം ഭോഷന്മാർ; നിങ്ങൾ ക്രിസ്തുവിൽ വിവേകികൾ; ഞങ്ങൾ ബലഹീനർ, നിങ്ങൾ ബലവാന്മാർ; നിങ്ങൾ ബഹുമാനിതർ, ഞങ്ങൾ മാനഹീനർ അത്രേ.
We, for Christ’s sake, are fools, but you, by your union with Christ, are people of discernment. We are weak, but you are strong. You are honoured, but we are despised.
11 ൧൧ ഈ സമയംവരെ ഞങ്ങൾ വിശന്നും, ദാഹിച്ചും, വേണ്ടുംവണ്ണം വസ്ത്രം ധരിക്കുവാൻ ഇല്ലാതെയും, മൃഗീയമായി മർദ്ദിക്കപ്പെട്ടും, ഭവനരഹിതരായും ഇരിക്കുന്നു.
To this very hour we go hungry, thirsty, and naked; we are beaten; we are homeless;
12 ൧൨ സ്വന്തകയ്യാൽ വേലചെയ്ത്, കഠിനമായി അദ്ധ്വാനിക്കുന്നു; ശകാരം കേട്ടിട്ട് അനുഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു; ഉപദ്രവം ഏറ്റിട്ട് സഹിക്കുന്നു; ദൂഷണം കേട്ടിട്ട് നല്ലവാക്ക് പറയുന്നു.
we work hard, toiling with our own hands. We meet abuse with blessings, we meet persecution with endurance,
we meet slander with gentle appeals. We have been treated as the scum of the earth, the vilest of the vile, to this very hour.
14 ൧൪ ഞാൻ ഇത് എഴുതുന്നത് നിങ്ങളെ നാണിപ്പിക്കുവാനല്ല, എന്റെ പ്രിയമക്കൾ എന്ന നിലയിൽ നിങ്ങളെ ബുദ്ധി ഉപദേശിക്കുന്നതിനു വേണ്ടിയാണ്.
It is with no wish to shame you that I am writing like this; but to warn you as my own dear children.
15 ൧൫ എന്തെന്നാൽ, നിങ്ങൾക്ക് ക്രിസ്തുവിൽ പതിനായിരം അദ്ധ്യാപകർ ഉണ്ടെങ്കിലും പിതാക്കന്മാർ ഏറെയില്ല; ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവിൽ ഞാനല്ലോ നിങ്ങളെ സുവിശേഷത്താൽ ജനിപ്പിച്ചത്.
Though you may have thousands of instructors in the faith of Christ, yet you have not many fathers. It was I who, through union with Christ Jesus, became your father by means of the good news.
Therefore I entreat you – Follow my example.
17 ൧൭ ഇതുനിമിത്തമാകുന്നു കർത്താവിൽ പ്രിയനും വിശ്വസ്തനുമായ എന്റെ മകൻ തിമൊഥെയോസിനെ നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കൽ അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. ഞാൻ എല്ലായിടത്തും ഏതു സഭയിലും പഠിപ്പിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ക്രിസ്തുവിലുള്ള എന്റെ വഴികൾ അവൻ നിങ്ങളെ ഓർമ്മിപ്പിക്കും.
This is my reason for sending Timothy to you. He is my own dear faithful child in the Master’s service, and he will remind you of my methods of teaching the faith of Christ Jesus – methods which I follow everywhere in every church.
Some, I hear, are puffed up with pride, thinking that I am not coming to you.
19 ൧൯ എന്നാൽ കർത്താവിന് ഇഷ്ടം എങ്കിൽ ഞാൻ വേഗം നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കൽ വരും. അപ്പോൾ ഞാൻ അഹങ്കരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവരുടെ വാക്കല്ല ശക്തി തന്നെ കണ്ടറിയും.
But come to you I will, and that soon, if it please the Lord; and then I will find out, not what words these people use who are so puffed up, but what power they possess;
for the kingdom of God is based, not on words, but on power.
21 ൨൧ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് ഏത് വേണം? ഞാൻ വടിയോടുകൂടെയോ സ്നേഹത്തിലും സൗമ്യാത്മാവിലുമോ നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കൽ വരേണ്ടത്?
What do you wish? Am I to come to you with a rod, or in a loving and gentle spirit?
