ലേവ്യപുസ്തകം 17

1 യഹോവ പിന്നെയും മോശെയോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു:

Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

2 നീ അഹരോനോടും പുത്രന്മാരോടും എല്ലായിസ്രായേൽമക്കളോടും പറയേണ്ടതു എന്തെന്നാൽ: യഹോവ കല്പിച്ച കാൎയ്യം ആവിതു:

“Speak to Aaron and to his sons, and to all the people of Israel. Tell them what Yahweh has commanded:

3 യിസ്രായേൽഗൃഹത്തിൽ ആരെങ്കിലും കാളയെയോ ആട്ടിൻകുട്ടിയെയോ കോലാടിനെയോ പാളയത്തിൽവെച്ചെങ്കിലും പാളയത്തിന്നു പുറത്തുവെച്ചെങ്കിലും അറുക്കയും

'Any man from Israel who kills an ox, lamb, or goat in the camp, or who kills it outside the camp, in order to sacrifice it—

4 അതിനെ യഹോവയുടെ കൂടാരത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ യഹോവെക്കു വഴിപാടായി അൎപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു സമാഗമനകൂടാരത്തിന്റെ വാതിൽക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവരാതിരിക്കയും ചെയ്താൽ അതു അവന്നു രക്തപാതകമായി എണ്ണേണം; അവൻ രക്തം ചൊരിയിച്ചു; ആ മനുഷ്യനെ അവന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ നടുവിൽനിന്നു ഛേദിച്ചുകളയേണം.

if he does not bring it to the entrance of the tent of meeting to offer it as a sacrifice to Yahweh before his tabernacle, that man is guilty of bloodshed. He has shed blood, and that man must be cut off from among his people.

5 യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ വെളിമ്പ്രദേശത്തുവെച്ചു അൎപ്പിച്ചുവരുന്ന യാഗങ്ങളെ യഹോവെക്കു സമാധാനയാഗങ്ങളായി അൎപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു സമാഗമനകൂടാരത്തിന്റെ വാതിൽക്കൽ പുരോഹിതന്റെ അടുക്കൽ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ കൊണ്ടുവരേണ്ടതാകുന്നു.

The purpose of this command is so that the people of Israel will bring their sacrifices to Yahweh at the entrance to the tent of meeting, to the priest to be sacrificed as fellowship offerings to Yahweh, instead of offering sacrifices in an open field.

6 പുരോഹിതൻ അവയുടെ രക്തം സമാഗമനകൂടാരത്തിന്റെ വാതിൽക്കൽ യഹോവയുടെ യാഗപീഠത്തിന്മേൽ തളിച്ചു മേദസ്സു യഹോവെക്കു സൌരഭ്യവാസനയായി ദഹിപ്പിക്കേണം.

The priest will sprinkle the blood on Yahweh's altar at the entrance to the tent of meeting; he will burn the fat for it to produce a sweet aroma for Yahweh.

7 അവർ പരസംഗമായി പിന്തുടരുന്ന ഭൂതങ്ങൾക്കു ഇനി തങ്ങളുടെ ബലികൾ അൎപ്പിക്കരുതു; ഇതു തലമുറതലമുറയായി അവൎക്കു എന്നേക്കുമുള്ള ചട്ടം ആയിരിക്കേണം.

The people must no longer offer their sacrifices to goat idols, for which they act as prostitutes. This will be a permanent statute for them throughout their people's generations.'

8 നീ അവരോടു പറയേണ്ടതു എന്തെന്നാൽ: യിസ്രായേൽഗൃഹത്തിലോ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ പാൎക്കുന്ന പരദേശികളിലോ ആരെങ്കിലും ഹോമയാഗമോ ഹനനയാഗമോ അൎപ്പിക്കയും

You must say to them, 'Any man of Israel, or any foreigner who lives among them, who offers a burnt offering or sacrifice

9 അതു യഹോവെക്കു അൎപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു സമാഗമനകൂടാരത്തിന്റെ വാതിൽക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവരാതിരിക്കയും ചെയ്താൽ അവനെ അവന്റെ ജനത്തിൽനിന്നു ഛേദിച്ചുകളയേണം.

and does not bring it to the entrance of the tent of meeting in order to sacrifice it to Yahweh, that man must be cut off from his people.

10 യിസ്രായേൽഗൃഹത്തിലോ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ പാൎക്കുന്ന പരദേശികളിലോ ആരെങ്കിലും വല്ല രക്തവും ഭക്ഷിച്ചാൽ രക്തം ഭക്ഷിച്ചവന്റെ നേരെ ഞാൻ ദൃഷ്ടിവെച്ചു അവനെ അവന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ ഇടയിൽനിന്നു ഛേദിച്ചുകളയും.

If any person of the house of Israel, or any foreigner who lives among them consumes any blood, I will set my face against that person who consumes blood and I will cut him off from among his people.

11 മാംസത്തിന്റെ ജീവൻ രക്തത്തിൽ അല്ലോ ഇരിക്കുന്നതു; യാഗപീഠത്തിന്മേൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കുവേണ്ടി പ്രായശ്ചിത്തം കഴിപ്പാൻ ഞാൻ അതു നിങ്ങൾക്കു തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; രക്തമല്ലോ ജീവൻമൂലമായി പ്രായശ്ചിത്തം ആകുന്നതു.

For the life of an animal is in its blood. I have given its blood to you to make atonement on the altar for your lives, because it is the blood that makes atonement, for it is the blood that atones for the life.

12 അതുകൊണ്ടത്രേ നിങ്ങളിൽ യാതൊരുത്തനും രക്തം ഭക്ഷിക്കരുതു; നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ പാൎക്കുന്ന പരദേശിയും രക്തം ഭക്ഷിക്കരുതു എന്നു ഞാൻ യിസ്രായേൽ മക്കളോടു കല്പിച്ചതു.

Therefore I said to the people of Israel that no one among you must eat blood, neither may any foreigner who lives among you eat blood.

13 യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളിലോ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ പാൎക്കുന്ന പരദേശികളിലോ ആരെങ്കിലും തിന്നാകുന്ന ഒരു മൃഗത്തെയോ പക്ഷിയെയോ വേട്ടയാടി പിടിച്ചാൽ അവൻ അതിന്റെ രക്തം കളഞ്ഞു മണ്ണിട്ടു മൂടേണം.

Anyone of the people of Israel, or any of the foreigners who live among them, who hunts and kills an animal or bird that may be eaten, that person must pour out its blood and cover the blood with earth.

14 സകലജഡത്തിന്റെയും ജീവൻ അതിന്റെ ജീവാധാരമായ രക്തം തന്നേ. അതുകൊണ്ടത്രേ ഞാൻ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളോടു: യാതൊരു ജഡത്തിന്റെ രക്തവും നിങ്ങൾ ഭക്ഷിക്കരുതു എന്നു കല്പിച്ചതു; സകലജഡത്തിന്റെയും ജീവൻ അതിന്റെ രക്തമല്ലോ; അതു ഭക്ഷിക്കുന്നവനെയെല്ലാം ഛേദിച്ചുകളയേണം.

For the life of each creature is its blood. That is why I said to the people of Israel, “You must not eat the blood of any creature, for the life of every living creature is its blood. Whoever eats it must be cut off.”

15 താനേ ചത്തതിനെയോ പറിച്ചുകീറിപ്പോയതിനെയോ തിന്നുന്നവനൊക്കെയും സ്വദേശിയായാലും പരദേശിയായാലും വസ്ത്രം അലക്കി വെള്ളത്തിൽ കുളിക്കയും സന്ധ്യവരെ അശുദ്ധനായിരിക്കയും വേണം; പിന്നെ അവൻ ശുദ്ധിയുള്ളവനാകും.

Every person who eats an animal that has died or that has been torn by wild animals, whether that person is native born or a foreigner living among you, he must wash his clothes and bathe himself in water, and he will be unclean until the evening. Then he will be clean.

16 വസ്ത്രം അലക്കാതെയും ദേഹം കഴുകാതെയും ഇരുന്നാൽ അവൻ കുറ്റം വഹിക്കേണം.

But if he does not wash his clothes or bathe his body, then he must carry his guilt.'”
