2 ശമൂവേൽ 16

1 ദാവീദ് മലമുകൾ കടന്നു കുറെ അപ്പുറം ചെന്നപ്പോൾ മെഫീബോശെത്തിന്റെ ഭൃത്യനായ സീബാ കോപ്പിട്ട രണ്ടു കഴുതയുമായി എതിരെ വരുന്നതു കണ്ടു; അവയുടെ പുറത്തു ഇരുനൂറു അപ്പവും നൂറു ഉണക്കമുന്തിരിക്കുലയും നൂറു അത്തിയടയും ഒരു തുരുത്തി വീഞ്ഞും കയറ്റിയിരുന്നു.

And when David was a little past the top of the hill, behold, Ziba the servant of Mephibosheth met him, with a couple of asses saddled, and upon them two hundred loaves of bread, and an hundred bunches of raisins, and an hundred of summer fruits, and a bottle of wine.

2 രാജാവു സീബയോടു: ഇതു എന്തിന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. അതിന്നു സീബാ: കഴുതകൾ രാജാവിന്റെ കുടുംബക്കാൎക്കു കയറുവാനും അപ്പവും പഴവും ബാല്യക്കാൎക്കു തിന്മാനും വീഞ്ഞു മരുഭൂമിയിൽ ക്ഷീണിച്ചവൎക്കു കുടിപ്പാനും തന്നേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And the king said unto Ziba, What mean you by these? And Ziba said, The asses be for the king's household to ride on; and the bread and summer fruit for the young men to eat; and the wine, that such as be faint in the wilderness may drink.

3 നിന്റെ യജമാനന്റെ മകൻ എവിടെ എന്നു രാജാവു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു സീബാ രാജാവിനോടു: അവൻ യെരൂശലേമിൽ പാൎക്കുന്നു; യിസ്രായേൽഗൃഹം എന്റെ അപ്പന്റെ രാജത്വം ഇന്നു എനിക്കു തിരികെ തരുമെന്നു അവൻ പറയുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And the king said, And where is your master's son? And Ziba said unto the king, Behold, he abides at Jerusalem: for he said, To day shall the house of Israel restore me the kingdom of my father.

4 രാജാവു സീബയോടു: ഇതാ, മെഫീബോശെത്തിന്നുള്ളതൊക്കെയും നിനക്കുള്ളതാകുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അതിന്നു സീബാ: യജമാനനായ രാജാവേ, ഞാൻ നമസ്കരിക്കുന്നു; തിരുമുമ്പിൽ എനിക്കു ദയ ലഭിക്കുമാറാകട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Then said the king to Ziba, Behold, your are all that pertained unto Mephibosheth. And Ziba said, I humbly plead to you that I may find grace in your sight, my lord, O king.

5 ദാവീദ്‌രാജാവു ബഹൂരീമിൽ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ ശൌലിന്റെ കുലത്തിൽ ഗേരയുടെ മകൻ ശിമെയി എന്നു പേരുള്ള ഒരുത്തൻ അവിടെനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു ശപിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു വരുന്നതു കണ്ടു.

And when king David came to Bahurim, behold, thence came out a man of the family of the house of Saul, whose name was Shimei, the son of Gera: he came forth, and cursed still as he came.

6 അവൻ ദാവീദിനെയും രാജഭൃത്യന്മാരെ ഒക്കെയും കല്ലുവാരി എറിഞ്ഞു; ജനവും വീരന്മാരുമെല്ലാം ഇടത്തും വലത്തുമായി നടക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.

And he cast stones at David, and at all the servants of king David: and all the people and all the mighty men were on his right hand and on his left.

7 ശിമെയി ശപിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു ഇവ്വണ്ണം പറഞ്ഞു: രക്തപാതകാ, നീചാ, പോ, പോ.

And thus said Shimei when he cursed, Come out, come out, you bloody man, and you man of Belial:

8 ശൌൽഗൃഹത്തിന്റെ രക്തം യഹോവ നിന്റെമേൽ വരുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അവന്നു പകരമല്ലോ നീ രാജാവയതു; യഹോവ രാജത്വം നിന്റെ മകനായ അബ്ശാലോമിന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; നീ രക്തപാതകനായിരിക്കയാൽ ഇപ്പോൾ ഇതാ, നിന്റെ ദോഷത്തിന്റെ ഫലം നിനക്കു വന്നുഭവിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

The LORD has returned upon you all the blood of the house of Saul, in whose position you have reigned; and the LORD has delivered the kingdom into the hand of Absalom your son: and, behold, you are taken in your mischief, because you are a bloody man.

9 അപ്പോൾ സെരൂയയുടെ മകനായ അബീശായി രാജാവിനോടു: ഈ ചത്ത നായി എന്റെ യജമാനനായ രാജാവിനെ ശപിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു? ഞാൻ ചെന്നു അവന്റെ തല വെട്ടിക്കളയട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Then said Abishai the son of Zeruiah unto the king, Why should this dead dog curse my lord the king? let me go over, I pray you, and take off his head.

10 അതിന്നു രാജാവു: സെരൂയയുടെ പുത്രന്മാരേ, എനിക്കും നിങ്ങൾക്കും തമ്മിൽ എന്തു? അവൻ ശപിക്കട്ടെ; ദാവീദിനെ ശപിക്ക എന്നു യഹോവ അവനോടു കല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; പിന്നെ നീ ഇങ്ങനെ ചെയ്യുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു ആർ ചോദിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And the king said, What have I to do with you, all of you sons of Zeruiah? so let him curse, because the LORD has said unto him, Curse David. Who shall then say, Wherefore have you done so?

11 പിന്നെ ദാവീദ് അബീശായിയോടും തന്റെ സകലഭൃത്യന്മാരോടും പറഞ്ഞതു: എന്റെ ഉദരത്തിൽനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ട മകൻ എനിക്കു പ്രാണഹാനി വരുത്തുവാൻ നോക്കുന്നു എങ്കിൽ ഈ ബെന്യാമീന്യൻ ചെയ്യുന്നതു ആശ്ചൎയ്യമോ? അവനെ വിടുവിൻ; അവൻ ശപിക്കട്ടെ; യഹോവ അവനോടു കല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

And David said to Abishai, and to all his servants, Behold, my son, which came out of my bowels, seeks my life: how much more now may this Benjamite do it? let him alone, and let him curse; for the LORD has bidden him.

12 പക്ഷേ യഹോവ എന്റെ സങ്കടം നോക്കി ഇന്നത്തെ ഇവന്റെ ശാപത്തിന്നു പകരം എനിക്കു അനുഗ്രഹം നല്കും.

It may be that the LORD will look on mine affliction, and that the LORD will requite me good for his cursing this day.

13 ഇങ്ങനെ ദാവീദും അവന്റെ ആളുകളും വഴിനടന്നുപോകുമ്പോൾ ശിമെയിയും മലഞ്ചരിവിൽകൂടി അടുത്തു നടന്നു; നടന്നുകൊണ്ടു ശപിക്കയും കല്ലും പൂഴിയും വാരി അവനെ എറികയും ചെയ്തു.

And as David and his men went by the way, Shimei went along on the hill's side opposite to him, and cursed as he went, and threw stones at him, and cast dust.

14 രാജാവും കൂടെയുള്ള സകല ജനവും ക്ഷീണിച്ചവരായി എത്തി അവിടെ ആശ്വസിച്ചു.

And the king, and all the people that were with him, came weary, and refreshed themselves there.

15 എന്നാൽ അബ്ശാലോമും യിസ്രായേല്യരായ ജനമൊക്കെയും അഹീഥോഫെലുമായി യെരൂശലേമിൽ എത്തി.

And Absalom, and all the people the men of Israel, came to Jerusalem, and Ahithophel with him.

16 ദാവീദിന്റെ സ്നേഹിതൻ അൎഖ്യനായ ഹൂശായി അബ്ശാലോമിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നിട്ടു അബ്ശാലോമിനോടു: രാജാവേ, ജയ ജയ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And it came to pass, when Hushai the Archite, David's friend, was come unto Absalom, that Hushai said unto Absalom, God save the king, God save the king.

17 അപ്പോൾ അബ്ശാലോം ഹൂശായിയോടു: ഇതാകുന്നുവോ നിന്റെ സ്നേഹിതനോടു നിനക്കുള്ള സ്നേഹം? സ്നേഹിതനോടുകൂടെ പോകാതിരുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

And Absalom said to Hushai, Is this your kindness to your friend? why went you not with your friend?

18 അതിന്നു ഹൂശായി അബ്ശാലോമിനോടു: അങ്ങനെയല്ല, യഹോവയും ഈ ജനവും യിസ്രായേല്യരൊക്കെയും ആരെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്നുവോ അവന്നുള്ളവൻ ആകുന്നു ഞാൻ; അവന്റെ പക്ഷത്തിൽ ഞാൻ ഇരിക്കും.

And Hushai said unto Absalom, Nay; but whom the LORD, and this people, and all the men of Israel, choose, his will I be, and with him will I abide.

19 ഞാൻ ആരെ ആകുന്നു സേവിക്കേണ്ടതു? അവന്റെ മകനെ അല്ലയോ? ഞാൻ നിന്റെ അപ്പനെ സേവിച്ചതുപോലെ നിന്നെയും സേവിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And again, whom should I serve? should I not serve in the presence of his son? as I have served in your father's presence, so will I be in your presence.

20 അനന്തരം അബ്ശാലോം അഹിഥോഫെലിനോടു: നാം ചെയ്യേണ്ടതു എന്തു എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ ആലോചിച്ചുപറവിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Then said Absalom to Ahithophel, Give counsel among you what we shall do.

21 അഹീഥോഫെൽ അബ്ശാലോമിനോടു: രാജധാനി സൂക്ഷിപ്പാൻ നിന്റെ അപ്പൻ പാൎപ്പിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള അവന്റെ വെപ്പാട്ടികളുടെ അടുക്കൽ നീ ചെല്ലുക; എന്നാൽ നീ നിന്റെ അപ്പന്നു നിന്നെത്തന്നെ വെറുപ്പാക്കി എന്നു എല്ലായിസ്രായേലും കേൾക്കും; നിന്നോടുകൂടെയുള്ളവർ ഒക്കെയും ധൈൎയ്യപ്പെടും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Ahithophel said unto Absalom, Go in unto your father's concubines, which he has left to keep the house; and all Israel shall hear that you are abhorred of your father: then shall the hands of all that are with you be strong.

22 അങ്ങനെ അവർ അബ്ശാലോമിന്നു വെൺമാടിത്തിന്മേൽ ഒരു കൂടാരം അടിച്ചു; അവിടെ അബ്ശാലോം എല്ലായിസ്രായേലും കാൺകെ തന്റെ അപ്പന്റെ വെപ്പാട്ടികളുടെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു.

So they spread Absalom a tent upon the top of the house; and Absalom went in unto his father's concubines in the sight of all Israel.

23 അക്കാലത്തു അഹീഥോഫെൽ പറയുന്ന ആലോചന ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാടുപോലെ ആയിരുന്നു; ദാവീദിന്നും അബ്ശാലോമിന്നും അഹീഥോഫെലിന്റെ ആലോചനയെല്ലാം അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ ആയിരുന്നു.

And the counsel of Ahithophel, which he counselled in those days, was as if a man had enquired at the oracle of God: so was all the counsel of Ahithophel both with David and with Absalom.
