2 രാജാക്കന്മാർ 20

1 ആ കാലത്തു ഹിസ്കീയാവിന്നു മരിക്കത്തക്ക രോഗം പിടിച്ചു; ആമോസിന്റെ മകനായ യെശയ്യാപ്രവാചകൻ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു അവനോടു: നിന്റെ ഗൃഹകാൎയ്യം ക്രമത്തിൽ ആക്കുക; നീ മരിച്ചുപോകും, ശേഷിക്കയില്ല എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

In those days was Ezekias sick [even] to death. And the prophet Esaias the son of Amos came in to him, and said to him, Thus saith the Lord, Give charge to thy household; [for] thou shalt die, and not live.

2 അപ്പോൾ ഹിസ്കീയാവു മുഖം ചുവരിന്റെ നേരെ തിരിച്ചു യഹോവയോടു പ്രാൎത്ഥിച്ചു:

And Ezekias turned to the wall, and prayed to the Lord, saying,

3 അയ്യോ യഹോവേ, ഞാൻ വിശ്വസ്തതയോടും ഏകാഗ്രഹൃദയത്തോടുംകൂടെ തിരുമുമ്പിൽ നടന്നു നിനക്കു പ്രസാദമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഓൎക്കേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. ഹിസ്കീയാവു ഏറ്റവും കരഞ്ഞു.

Lord, remember, I pray thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thine eyes. And Ezekias wept with a great weeping.

4 എന്നാൽ യെശയ്യാവു നടുമുറ്റം വിട്ടുപോകുംമുമ്പെ അവന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു ഉണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാൽ:

And Esaias was in the middle court, and the word of the Lord came to him, saying,

5 നീ മടങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ പ്രഭുവായ ഹിസ്കീയാവോടു പറയേണ്ടതു: നിന്റെ പിതാവായ ദാവീദിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ഞാൻ നിന്റെ പ്രാൎത്ഥന കേട്ടു നിന്റെ കണ്ണുനീർ കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞാൻ നിന്നെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കും; മൂന്നാം ദിവസം നീ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിൽ പോകും.

Turn back, and thou shalt say to Ezekias the ruler of my people, Thus saith the Lord God of thy father David, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go up to the house of the Lord.

6 ഞാൻ നിന്റെ ആയുസ്സിനോടു പതിനഞ്ചു സംവത്സരം കൂട്ടും; ഞാൻ നിന്നെയും ഈ നഗരത്തെയും അശ്ശൂർരാജാവിന്റെ കയ്യിൽ നിന്നു വിടുവിക്കും. എന്റെ നിമിത്തവും എന്റെ ദാസനായ ദാവീദിന്റെ നിമിത്തവും ഈ നഗരം ഞാൻ കാത്തു രക്ഷിക്കും.

And I will add to thy days fifteen years; and I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of the Assyrians, and I will defend this city for my own sake, and for my servant's David sake.

7 പിന്നെ യെശയ്യാവു ഒരു അത്തിപ്പഴക്കട്ട കൊണ്ടുവരുവിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അവർ അതു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു പരുവിന്മേൽ ഇട്ടു അവന്നു സൌഖ്യമായി.

And he said, Let them take a cake of figs, and lay it upon the ulcer, and he shall be well.

8 ഹിസ്കീയാവു യെശയ്യാവോടു: യഹോവ എന്നെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കുകയും ഞാൻ മൂന്നാം ദിവസം യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിൽ പോകയും ചെയ്യുമെന്നതിന്നു അടയാളം എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

And Ezekias said to Esaias, What [is] the sign that the Lord will heal me, and I shall go up to the house of the Lord on the third day?

9 അതിന്നു യെശയ്യാവു: യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത കാൎയ്യം നിവൎത്തിക്കുമെന്നുള്ളതിന്നു യഹോവയിങ്കൽനിന്നു ഇതു നിനക്കു അടയാളം ആകും: നിഴൽ പത്തു പടി മുമ്പോട്ടു പോകേണമോ? പത്തു പടി പിന്നോക്കം തിരിയേണമോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

And Esaias said, This [is] the sign from the Lord, that the Lord will perform the word which he has spoken, the shadow [of the dial] shall advance ten degrees: [or] if it should go back ten degrees [this would also be the sign].

10 അതിന്നു ഹിസ്കീയാവു: നിഴൽ പത്തു പടി ഇറങ്ങിപ്പോകുന്നതു എളുപ്പം ആകുന്നു; അങ്ങനെയല്ല, നിഴൽ പത്തുപടി പിന്നോക്കം തിരിയട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Ezekias said, [It is] a light thing for the shadow to go down ten degrees: nay, but let the shadow return ten degrees backward on the dial.

11 അപ്പോൾ യെശയ്യാപ്രവാചകൻ യഹോവയെ വിളിച്ചപേക്ഷിച്ചു; അവൻ ആഹാസിന്റെ സൂൎയ്യഘടികാരത്തിൽ ഇറങ്ങിപ്പോയിരുന്ന നിഴലിനെ പത്തു പടി പിന്നോക്കം തിരിയുമാറാക്കി.

And Esaias the prophet cried to the Lord: and the shadow returned back ten degrees on the dial.

12 ആ കാലത്തു ബലദാന്റെ മകനായ ബെരോദാക്-ബലദാൻ എന്ന ബാബേൽരാജാവു ഹിസ്കീയാവു ദീനമായ്ക്കിടന്നിരുന്നു എന്നു കേട്ടിട്ടു ഹിസ്കീയാവിന്നു എഴുത്തും സമ്മാനവും കൊടുത്തയച്ചു.

At that time Marodach Baladan, son of Baladan king of Babylon, sent letters and a present to Ezekias, because he had heard that Ezekias was sick.

13 ഹിസ്കീയാവു അവരുടെ വാക്കു കേട്ടു തന്റെ ഭണ്ഡാരഗൃഹം മുഴുവനും പൊന്നും വെള്ളിയും സുഗന്ധവൎഗ്ഗവും പരിമളതൈലവും തന്റെ ആയുധശാലയും തന്റെ ഭണ്ഡാരങ്ങളിൽ ഉള്ളതൊക്കെയും അവരെ കാണിച്ചു. രാജധാനിയിലും തന്റെ ആധിപത്യത്തിലും ഹിസ്കീയാവു അവരെ കാണിക്കാത്ത ഒരു വസ്തുവും ഇല്ലായിരുന്നു.

And Ezekias rejoiced at them, and shewed all the house of his spices, the silver and the gold, the spices, and the fine oil, and the armory, and all that was found in his treasures: there was nothing which Ezekias did not shew them in his house, and in all his dominion.

14 എന്നാൽ യെശയ്യാപ്രവാചകൻ ഹിസ്കീയാരാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു അവനോടു: ഈ പുരുഷന്മാർ എന്തു പറഞ്ഞു? അവർ എവിടെനിന്നു നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു ഹിസ്കീയാവു: അവർ ദൂരദേശത്തുനിന്നു, ബാബേലിൽനിന്നു വന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Esaias the prophet went in to king Ezekias, and said to him, What said these men? and whence came they to thee? And Ezekias said, they came to me from a distant land, [even] from Babylon.

15 അവർ രാജധാനയിൽ എന്തെല്ലാം കണ്ടു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു ഹിസ്കീയാവു: രാജധാനിയിലുള്ളതൊക്കെയും അവർ കണ്ടു; എന്റെ ഭണ്ഡാരത്തിൽ ഞാൻ അവൎക്കു കാണിക്കാത്ത ഒരു വസ്തുവും ഇല്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And he said, What saw they in thy house? And he said, They saw all things that [are] in my house: there was nothing in my house which I shewed not to them; yea, all that was in my treasures also.

16 യെശയ്യാവു ഹിസ്കീയാവോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: യഹോവയുടെ വചനം കേൾക്ക:

And Esaias said to Ezekias, Hear the word of the Lord:

17 രാജധാനിയിലുള്ളതൊക്കെയും നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാർ ഇന്നുവരെ ശേഖരിച്ചുവെച്ചതും ഒട്ടൊഴിയാതെ ബാബേലിലേക്കു എടുത്തുകൊണ്ടു പോകുന്ന കാലം വരുന്നു.

Behold, the days come, that all things that are in thy house shall be taken, and all that thy fathers have treasured up until this day, to Babylon; and there shall not fail a word, which the Lord has spoken.

18 നീ ജനിപ്പിച്ചവരായി നിന്നിൽനിന്നുത്ഭവിക്കുന്ന നിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരിലും ചിലരെ അവർ കൊണ്ടുപോകും; അവർ ബാബേൽരാജാവിന്റെ അരമനയിൽ ഷണ്ഡന്മാരായിരിക്കും എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

And as for thy sons which shall come forth of thee, which thou shalt beget, [the enemy] shall take them, and they shall be eunuchs in the house of the king of Babylon.

19 അതിന്നു ഹിസ്കീയാവു യെശയ്യാവോടു: നീ പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന യഹോവയുടെ വചനം നല്ലതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; എന്റെ ജീവകാലത്തു സമാധാനവും സത്യവും ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കുമല്ലോ എന്നും അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.

And Ezekias said to Esaias, Good [is] the word of the Lord which he has spoken: [only] let there be peace in my days.

20 ഹിസ്കീയാവിന്റെ മറ്റുള്ള വൃത്താന്തങ്ങളും അവന്റെ സകലപരാക്രമപ്രവൃത്തികളും അവൻ ഒരു കുളവും കല്പാത്തിയും ഉണ്ടാക്കി വെള്ളം നഗരത്തിന്നകത്തു വരുത്തിയതും യെഹൂദാരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ വൃത്താന്തപുസ്തകത്തിൽ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

And the rest of the acts of Ezekias, and all his might, and all that he made, the fountain and the aqueduct, and [how] he brought water into the city, [are] not these things written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Juda?

21 ഹിസ്കീയാവു തന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെപ്പോലെ നിദ്രപ്രാപിച്ചു; അവന്റെ മകനായ മനശ്ശെ അവന്നു പകരം രാജാവായി.

And Ezekias slept with his fathers: and Manasses his son reigned in his stead.
