1 ശമൂവേൽ 30
1 ദാവീദും അവന്റെ ആളുകളും മൂന്നാം ദിവസം സിക്ലാഗിൽ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ അമാലേക്യർ തെക്കെദേശവും സിക്ലാഗും ആക്രമിച്ചു സിക്ലാഗിനെ ജയിച്ചു അതിനെ തീവെച്ചു ചുട്ടുകളഞ്ഞിരുന്നു.
It happened, when David and his men had come to Ziklag on the third day, that Amalek had made a raid on the Negev, and on Ziklag, and had struck Ziklag, and burned it with fire,
2 അവിടെയുള്ള വലിയവരും ചെറിയവരുമായ സ്ത്രീകളെ പിടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു തങ്ങളുടെ വഴിക്കു പോയതല്ലാതെ ആരെയും കൊന്നില്ല.
and had taken captive the women and all who were in it, both small and great. They did not kill any, but carried them off, and went their way.
3 ദാവീദും അവന്റെ ആളുകളും പട്ടണത്തിലേക്കു വന്നപ്പോൾ അതു തീവെച്ചു ചുട്ടിരിക്കുന്നതും ഭാൎയ്യമാരെയും പുത്രീപുത്രന്മാരെയും അടിമകളായി കൊണ്ടുപോയിരിക്കുന്നതും കണ്ടു.
When David and his men came to the city, look, it was burned with fire; and their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, were taken captive.
4 അപ്പോൾ ദാവീദും കൂടെയുള്ള ജനവും കരവാൻ ബലമില്ലാതാകുവോളം ഉറക്കെ കരഞ്ഞു.
Then David and the people who were with him lifted up their voice and wept, until they had no more power to weep.
5 യിസ്രെയേല്ക്കാരത്തി അഹീനോവം, കൎമ്മേല്ക്കാരൻ നാബാലിന്റെ ഭാൎയ്യയായിരുന്ന അബീഗയിൽ എന്നീ ദാവീദിന്റെ രണ്ടു ഭാൎയ്യമാരെയും അവർ പിടിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുപോയിരുന്നു.
David's two wives were taken captive, Ahinoam the Jezreelite and Abigail the wife of Nabal the Carmelite.
6 ദാവീദ് വലിയ കഷ്ടത്തിലായി; ജനത്തിൽ ഓരോരുത്തന്റെ ഹൃദയം താന്താന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരെയും പുത്രിമാരെയും കുറിച്ചു വ്യസനിച്ചിരിക്കകൊണ്ടു അവനെ കല്ലെറിയേണമെന്നു ജനം പറഞ്ഞു; ദാവീദോ തന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയിൽ ധൈൎയ്യപ്പെട്ടു.
David was greatly distressed; for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David strengthened himself in the LORD his God.
7 ദാവീദ് അഹീമേലെക്കിന്റെ മകനായ അബ്യാഥാർപുരോഹിതനോടു: ഏഫോദ് ഇവിടെ കൊണ്ടുവരിക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അബ്യാഥാർ ഏഫോദ് ദാവീദിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.
David said to Abiathar the cohen, the son of Ahimelech, "Please bring me here the ephod." Abiathar brought the ephod to David.
8 എന്നാറെ ദാവീദ് യഹോവയോടു: ഞാൻ ഇപ്പരിഷയെ പിന്തുടരേണമോ? അവരെ എത്തിപ്പിടിക്കുമോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. പിന്തുടരുക; നീ അവരെ നിശ്ചയമായി എത്തിപ്പിടിക്കും; സകലവും വീണ്ടുകൊള്ളും എന്നു അരുളപ്പാടുണ്ടായി.
David inquired of the LORD, saying, "If I pursue after this troop, shall I overtake them?" He answered him, "Pursue; for you shall surely overtake them, and shall without fail recover all."
9 അങ്ങനെ ദാവീദും കൂടെയുള്ള അറുനൂറുപേരും പുറപ്പെട്ടു ബെസോർതോട്ടിങ്കൽ എത്തി; ശേഷമുള്ളവർ അവിടെ താമസിച്ചു.
So David went, he and the six hundred men who were with him, and came to the Wadi Besor, where those who were left behind stayed.
10 ബെസോർതോടു കടപ്പാൻ കഴിയാതവണ്ണം ക്ഷീണിച്ചിട്ടു ഇരുനൂറുപേർ പുറകിൽ താമസിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു ദാവീദും നാനൂറുപേരും പിന്തുടൎന്നുചെന്നു.
But David pursued, he and four hundred men; for two hundred stayed behind, who were so faint that they couldn't cross the Wadi Besor.
11 അവർ വയലിൽവെച്ചു ഒരു മിസ്രയീമ്യനെ കണ്ടു ദാവീദിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുചെന്നു; അവന്നു അപ്പം കൊടുത്തു അവൻ തിന്നു; അവന്നു കുടിപ്പാൻ വെള്ളവും കൊടുത്തു.
They found an Egyptian in the field, and brought him to David, and gave him bread, and he ate; and they gave him water to drink.
12 അവർ അവന്നു ഒരു കഷണം അത്തിയടയും രണ്ടു ഉണക്കമുന്തിരിക്കുലയും കൊടുത്തു; അതു തിന്നപ്പോൾ അവന്നു ഉയിർവീണു; മൂന്നു രാവും മൂന്നു പകലും അവൻ ആഹാരം കഴിക്കയോ വെള്ളം കുടിക്കയോ ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ലായിരുന്നു.
They gave him a piece of a cake of figs, and two clusters of raisins. When he had eaten, his spirit came again to him; for he had eaten no bread, nor drunk any water, three days and three nights.
13 ദാവീദ് അവനോടു: നീ ആരുടെ ആൾ? എവിടുത്തുകാരൻ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു അവൻ: ഞാൻ ഒരു മിസ്രയീമ്യബാല്യക്കാരൻ; ഒരു അമാലേക്യന്റെ ഭൃത്യൻ. മൂന്നു ദിവസം മുമ്പെ എനിക്കു ദീനം പിടിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു എന്റെ യജമാനൻ എന്നെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.
David asked him, "To whom do you belong? Where are you from?" He said, "I am a young man of Egypt, servant to an Amalekite; and my master left me, because three days ago I fell sick.
14 ഞങ്ങൾ ക്രേത്യരുടെ തെക്കെനാടും യെഹൂദ്യദേശവും കാലേബിന്റെ തെക്കെദിക്കും ആക്രമിച്ചു; സിക്ലാഗ് ഞങ്ങൾ തീവെച്ചു ചുട്ടുകളഞ്ഞു.
We made a raid on the Negev of the Kerethites, and on that which belongs to Judah, and on the Negev of Caleb; and we burned Ziklag with fire."
15 ദാവീദ് അവനോടു: അപ്പരിഷയുടെ അടുക്കലേക്കു നീ വഴികാണിച്ചുതരുമോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു അവൻ: നീ എന്നെ കൊല്ലുകയോ എന്റെ യജമാനന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിക്കയോ ചെയ്കയില്ലെന്നു ദൈവനാമത്തിൽ എന്നോടു സത്യം ചെയ്താൽ അപ്പരിഷയുടെ അടുക്കലേക്കു വഴികാണിച്ചുതരാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
David said to him, "Will you bring me down to this troop?" He said, "Swear to me by God that you will neither kill me, nor deliver me up into the hands of my master, and I will bring you down to this troop." And he swore to him.
16 അങ്ങനെ അവൻ അവനെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു ചെന്നപ്പോൾ അവർ ഭൂതലത്തെങ്ങും പരന്നു തിന്നുകയും കുടിക്കയും ഫെലിസ്ത്യദേശത്തുനിന്നും യെഹൂദാദേശത്തുനിന്നും അപഹരിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന വലിയ കൊള്ള നിമിത്തം ഉത്സവം ഘോഷിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നതു കണ്ടു.
When he had brought him down, look, they were spread around over all the ground, eating, drinking, and dancing, because of all the great spoil that they had taken out of the land of the Philistines, and out of the land of Judah.
17 ദാവീദ് അവരെ സന്ധ്യമുതൽ പിറ്റെന്നാൾ വൈകുന്നേരംവരെ സംഹരിച്ചു; ഒട്ടകപ്പുറത്തു കയറി ഓടിച്ചുപോയ നാനൂറു ബാല്യക്കാർ അല്ലാതെ അവരിൽ ഒരുത്തനും ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോയില്ല.
David struck them from the twilight even to the evening of the next day and he put them to death. Not a man of them escaped from there, except four hundred young men, who rode on camels and fled.
18 അമാലേക്യർ അപഹരിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുപോയിരുന്നതൊക്കെയും ദാവീദ് വീണ്ടുകൊണ്ടു; തന്റെ രണ്ടു ഭാൎയ്യമാരെയും ദാവീദ് ഉദ്ധരിച്ചു.
He recovered all that the Amalekites had taken; and David rescued his two wives.
19 അവർ അപഹരിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുപോയതിൽ ചെറുതോ വലുതോ പുത്രന്മാരോ പുത്രിമാരോ കൊള്ളയോ യാതൊന്നും കിട്ടാതിരുന്നില്ല; ദാവീദ് എല്ലാം മടക്കി കൊണ്ടുപോന്നു.
There was nothing lacking to them, neither small nor great, neither sons nor daughters, neither spoil, nor anything that they had taken to them. David brought back all.
20 ദാവീദ് ആടുമാടുകളെ ഒക്കെയും പിടിച്ചു. അവയെ അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ നാല്ക്കാലികൾക്കു മുമ്പായി തെളിച്ചു നടത്തിക്കൊണ്ടു: ഇതു ദാവീദിന്റെ കൊള്ള എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
He took all the flocks and the herds, which they drove before those other livestock, and said, "This is David's spoil."
21 ദാവീദിനോടുകൂടെ പോകുവാൻ കഴിയാതവണ്ണം ക്ഷീണിച്ചിട്ടു ബെസോർതോട്ടിങ്കൽ താമസിപ്പിച്ചിരുന്ന ഇരുനൂറുപേരുടെ അടുക്കൽ ദാവീദ് എത്തിയപ്പോൾ അവർ ദാവീദിനെയും കൂടെയുള്ള ജനത്തെയും എതിരേറ്റു ചെന്നു; ദാവീദ് ജനത്തിന്റെ സമീപത്തു വന്നു അവരോടു കുശലം ചോദിച്ചു.
David came to the two hundred men, who were so faint that they could not follow David, whom he also had made to stay at the Wadi Besor; and they went forth to meet David, and to meet the people who were with him. And when David came near to the people, he greeted them.
22 എന്നാൽ ദാവീദിനോടു കൂടെ പോയിരുന്നവരിൽ ദുഷ്ടരും നീചരുമായ ഏവരും: ഇവർ നമ്മോടുകൂടെ പോരാഞ്ഞതിനാൽ നാം വിടുവിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന കൊള്ളയിൽ ഓരോരുത്തന്റെ ഭാൎയ്യയെയും മക്കളെയും ഒഴികെ അവൎക്കു ഒന്നും കൊടുക്കരുതു, അവരെ അവർ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു പൊയ്ക്കൊള്ളട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
Then every wicked and worthless one of the men who had gone with David answered, and they said, "Because they did not go with us, we will not give them anything of the spoil that we have recovered, except to each man his wife and his children. And let them take them, and depart."
23 അപ്പോൾ ദാവീദ്: എന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരേ; നമ്മെ രക്ഷിക്കയും നമ്മുടെ നേരെ വന്നിരുന്ന പരിഷയെ നമ്മുടെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിക്കയും ചെയ്ത യഹോവ നമുക്കു തന്നിട്ടുള്ളതിനെക്കൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങൾ ഇങ്ങനെ ചെയ്യരുതു.
Then David said, "You shall not do so after what the LORD has given to us, who has preserved us, and delivered into our hand the raiding party that came against us.
24 ഈ കാൎയ്യത്തിൽ നിങ്ങളുടെ വാക്കു ആർ സമ്മതിക്കും? യുദ്ധത്തിന്നു പോകുന്നവന്റെ ഓഹരിയും സാമാനങ്ങൾക്കരികെ താമസിക്കുന്നവന്റെ ഓഹരിയും ഒരുപോലെ ആയിരിക്കേണം; അവർ സമാംശമായി ഭാഗിച്ചെടുക്കേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
So who will listen to you in this matter? For they are not inferior to you. For as his share is who goes down to the battle, so will his share be who remains with the supplies; they will share alike."
25 അന്നുമുതൽ കാൎയ്യം അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ നടപ്പായി; അവൻ അതു യിസ്രായേലിന്നു ഇന്നുവരെയുള്ള ചട്ടവും നിയമവും ആക്കി.
It was so from that day forward, that he made it a statute and an ordinance for Israel to this day.
26 ദാവീദ് സിക്ലാഗിൽ വന്നശേഷം യെഹൂദാമൂപ്പന്മാരായ തന്റെ സ്നേഹിതന്മാൎക്കു കൊള്ളയിൽ ഒരംശം കൊടുത്തയച്ചു: ഇതാ, യഹോവയുടെ ശത്രുക്കളെ കൊള്ളയിട്ടതിൽനിന്നു നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഒരു സമ്മാനം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
When David came to Ziklag, he sent of the spoil to the elders of Judah and to his friends, saying, "Look, a present for you of the spoil of the enemies of the LORD."
27 ബേഥേലിൽ ഉള്ളവൎക്കും തെക്കെ രാമോത്തിലുള്ളവൎക്കും യത്ഥീരിൽ ഉള്ളവൎക്കും
He sent it to those who were in Bethel, and to those who were in Ramath Negev, and to those who were in Jattir,
28 അരോവേരിൽ ഉള്ളവൎക്കും സിഫ്മോത്തിലുള്ളവൎക്കും എസ്തെമോവയിലുള്ളവൎക്കും
and to those who were in Aroer, and to those who were in Siphmoth, and to those who were in Eshtemoa,
29 രാഖാലിലുള്ളവൎക്കും യെരപ്മേല്യരുടെ പട്ടണങ്ങളിലുള്ളവൎക്കും കേന്യരുടെ പട്ടണങ്ങളിലുള്ളവൎക്കും
and to those who were in Racal, and to those who were in the cities of the Jerahmeelites, and to those who were in the cities of the Kenizzites.
30 ഹൊൎമ്മയിലുള്ളവൎക്കും കോർ-ആശാനിൽ ഉള്ളവൎക്കും അഥാക്കിലുള്ളവൎക്കും ഹെബ്രോനിലുള്ളവൎക്കും ദാവീദും അവന്റെ ആളുകളും സഞ്ചരിച്ചുവന്ന സകലസ്ഥലങ്ങളിലേക്കും കൊടുത്തയച്ചു.
and to those who were in Hormah, and to those who were in Bor Ashan, and to those who were in Athach,
and to those who were in Hebron, and to all the places where David himself and his men used to stay.
