മത്തായി 26
1 ഈ സംഭാഷണം തീർന്നശേഷം യേശു അവിടത്തെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോട്,
When Yeshua had finished all these words, he said to his disciples,
2 “ഇനി രണ്ട് ദിവസംമാത്രമേ പെസഹായ്ക് ശേഷിക്കുന്നുള്ളൂ എന്നു നിങ്ങൾക്കറിയാമല്ലോ; അന്ന് ക്രൂശിൽ തറയ്ക്കപ്പെടുന്നതിനായി മനുഷ്യപുത്രൻ ഏൽപ്പിക്കപ്പെടും” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
“You know that after two days the Passover is coming, and the Son of Man will be delivered up to be crucified.”
3 ആ സമയത്ത് പുരോഹിതമുഖ്യന്മാരും സമുദായനേതാക്കന്മാരും മഹാപുരോഹിതൻ കയ്യഫാവിന്റെ അരമനയിൽ ഒത്തുകൂടി;
Then the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders of the people were gathered together in the court of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas.
4 യേശുവിനെ ചതിവിൽ പിടികൂടി കൊല്ലുന്നതിനെപ്പറ്റി ഗൂഢാലോചന നടത്തി.
They took counsel together that they might take Yeshua by deceit and kill him.
5 “ജനമധ്യത്തിൽ കലാപം ഉണ്ടായേക്കാം, അതുകൊണ്ട് ഇത് പെസഹാപ്പെരുന്നാൾ സമയത്ത് പാടില്ല,” എന്നിങ്ങനെയായിരുന്നു അവരുടെ ചർച്ച.
But they said, “Not during the feast, lest a riot occur amongst the people.”
6 യേശു ബെഥാന്യയിൽ, കുഷ്ഠരോഗിയായിരുന്ന ശിമോന്റെ ഭവനത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കുമ്പോൾ,
Now when Yeshua was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper,
7 ഒരു സ്ത്രീ ഒരു വെൺകൽഭരണിയിൽ വളരെ വിലപിടിപ്പുള്ള സുഗന്ധതൈലവുമായി അടുത്തുവന്ന്, ഭക്ഷണത്തിനിരിക്കുകയായിരുന്ന അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ശിരസ്സിൽ ഒഴിച്ചു.
a woman came to him having an alabaster jar of very expensive ointment, and she poured it on his head as he sat at the table.
8 ഇതുകണ്ട് കുപിതരായ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ, “ഈ പാഴ്ചെലവ് എന്തിന്?
But when his disciples saw this, they were indignant, saying, “Why this waste?
9 ഈ സുഗന്ധതൈലം വലിയൊരു തുകയ്ക്കു വിറ്റ് ആ പണം ദരിദ്രർക്ക് ദാനം ചെയ്യാമായിരുന്നല്ലോ?” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
For this ointment might have been sold for much and given to the poor.”
10 യേശു ഇത് മനസ്സിലാക്കിയിട്ട് അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞത്: “നിങ്ങൾ ഈ സ്ത്രീയെ വിമർശിക്കുന്നതെന്തിന്? അവൾ എനിക്ക് ചെയ്തത് ഒരു നല്ലകാര്യമാണല്ലോ.
However, knowing this, Yeshua said to them, “Why do you trouble the woman? She has done a good work for me.
11 ദരിദ്രർ നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ എപ്പോഴും ഉണ്ടല്ലോ; ഞാനോ നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ എപ്പോഴും ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കുകയില്ല.
For you always have the poor with you, but you don’t always have me.
12 അവൾ ഈ സുഗന്ധതൈലം എന്റെ ശരീരത്തിന്മേൽ ഒഴിച്ചുകൊണ്ട്; ശവസംസ്കാരത്തിന് എന്നെ ഒരുക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.
For in pouring this ointment on my body, she did it to prepare me for burial.
13 ലോകമെങ്ങും, ഈ സുവിശേഷം വിളംബരംചെയ്യുന്നിടത്തെല്ലാം, അവൾ ചെയ്തത് അവളുടെ സ്മരണയ്ക്കായി പ്രസ്താവിക്കപ്പെടും, നിശ്ചയം, എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.”
Most certainly I tell you, wherever this Good News is preached in the whole world, what this woman has done will also be spoken of as a memorial of her.”
14 അന്നുതന്നെ പന്ത്രണ്ട് ശിഷ്യന്മാരിൽ ഒരാളായ യൂദാ ഈസ്കര്യോത്ത് പുരോഹിതമുഖ്യന്മാരെ സമീപിച്ച്,
Then one of the twelve, who was called Judah Iscariot, went to the chief priests
15 “യേശുവിനെ തിരിച്ചറിയാൻ സഹായിച്ചാൽ നിങ്ങൾ എനിക്ക് എന്തുതരും?” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. അവർ അവന് മുപ്പത് വെള്ളിനാണയങ്ങൾ എണ്ണിക്കൊടുത്തു.
and said, “What are you willing to give me if I deliver him to you?” So they weighed out for him thirty pieces of silver.
16 യൂദാ, ആ നിമിഷംമുതൽ യേശുവിനെ അറസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്യിക്കാനുള്ള തക്കംനോക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.
From that time he sought opportunity to betray him.
17 പുളിപ്പില്ലാത്ത അപ്പത്തിന്റെ പെരുന്നാളിലെ ആദ്യദിവസം, ശിഷ്യന്മാർ യേശുവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽവന്ന്, “അങ്ങേക്ക് പെസഹ ഭക്ഷിക്കാൻ ഞങ്ങൾ എവിടെയാണ് ഒരുക്കേണ്ടത്?” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
Now on the first day of unleavened bread, the disciples came to Yeshua, saying to him, “Where do you want us to prepare for you to eat the Passover?”
18 അതിന് യേശു, “നിങ്ങൾ പട്ടണത്തിൽ, ഞാൻ പറയുന്ന വ്യക്തിയുടെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്ന്, ‘ഗുരു പറയുന്നു, എന്റെ സമയം അടുത്തെത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു. ഞാൻ എന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടൊത്ത് പെസഹ ആചരിക്കാൻ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നത് താങ്കളുടെ ഭവനത്തിലാണ് എന്നു പറയുക’” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
He said, “Go into the city to a certain person, and tell him, ‘The Rabbi says, “My time is at hand. I will keep the Passover at your house with my disciples.”’”
19 യേശു നിർദേശിച്ചതുപോലെതന്നെ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ ചെയ്തു. അവർ പെസഹ ഒരുക്കി.
The disciples did as Yeshua commanded them, and they prepared the Passover.
20 സന്ധ്യയായപ്പോൾ യേശു പന്ത്രണ്ട് ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടൊപ്പം ഭക്ഷണത്തിന് ഇരുന്നു.
Now when evening had come, he was reclining at the table with the twelve disciples.
21 അവർ ഭക്ഷിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ, “നിങ്ങളിൽ ഒരുവൻ എന്നെ ഒറ്റിക്കൊടുക്കും, നിശ്ചയം” എന്ന് യേശു പറഞ്ഞു.
As they were eating, he said, “Most certainly I tell you that one of you will betray me.”
22 ഇതു കേട്ട് അവർ അത്യന്തം ദുഃഖിതരായി. “കർത്താവേ, അതു ഞാനല്ലല്ലോ?” എന്ന് അവർ ഓരോരുത്തരായി അദ്ദേഹത്തോട് ചോദിക്കാൻ തുടങ്ങി.
They were exceedingly sorrowful, and each began to ask him, “It isn’t me, is it, Lord?”
23 അതിന് യേശു ഇപ്രകാരം മറുപടി പറഞ്ഞു, “എന്നോടൊപ്പം പാത്രത്തിൽ കൈ മുക്കിയവൻതന്നെ എന്നെ ഒറ്റിക്കൊടുക്കും.
He answered, “He who dipped his hand with me in the dish will betray me.
24 മനുഷ്യപുത്രൻ (ഞാൻ) പോകുന്നു; തന്നെക്കുറിച്ച് എഴുതപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെതന്നെ അവന് സംഭവിക്കും. എന്നാൽ, മനുഷ്യപുത്രനെ ഒറ്റിക്കൊടുക്കുന്നവന്റെ സ്ഥിതി അതിഭയാനകം! ആ മനുഷ്യൻ ജനിക്കാതിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ അവനത് എത്ര നന്നായിരുന്നേനെ!”
The Son of Man goes even as it is written of him, but woe to that man through whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would be better for that man if he had not been born.”
25 അദ്ദേഹത്തെ ഒറ്റിക്കൊടുക്കാനിരുന്ന യൂദാ, “റബ്ബീ, അതു ഞാനല്ലല്ലോ” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. “നീ തന്നെ അത് പറഞ്ഞല്ലോ,” യേശു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
Judah, who betrayed him, answered, “It isn’t me, is it, Rabbi?” He said to him, “You said it.”
26 അവർ പെസഹ ഭക്ഷിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ യേശു അപ്പം എടുത്ത് വാഴ്ത്തി നുറുക്കി ശിഷ്യന്മാർക്ക് നൽകിക്കൊണ്ട്, “വാങ്ങി ഭക്ഷിക്കുക, ഇത് എന്റെ ശരീരം ആകുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
As they were eating, Yeshua took bread, gave thanks for it, and broke it. He gave to the disciples and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.”
27 പിന്നെ അവിടന്ന് പാനപാത്രം എടുത്ത് ദൈവത്തിന് സ്തോത്രംചെയ്ത് അവർക്കു നൽകിക്കൊണ്ടു പറഞ്ഞത്: “എല്ലാവരും ഇതിൽനിന്നു പാനംചെയ്യുക,
He took the cup, gave thanks, and gave to them, saying, “All of you drink it,
28 ഇത് എന്റെ രക്തം ആകുന്നു, അനേകരുടെ പാപമോചനത്തിനുവേണ്ടി ചൊരിയപ്പെടുന്ന, ഉടമ്പടിയുടെ രക്തം.
for this is my blood of the new covenant, which is poured out for many for the remission of sins.
29 എന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ രാജ്യത്തിൽ നിങ്ങളോടൊത്ത് ഞാൻ ഇത് പുതുതായി കുടിക്കുന്ന ദിവസംവരെ, മുന്തിരിവള്ളിയുടെ ഫലത്തിൽനിന്ന് പാനം ചെയ്യുകയില്ല.”
But I tell you that I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on, until that day when I drink it anew with you in my Father’s Kingdom.”
30 ഇതിനുശേഷം അവർ ഒരു സ്തോത്രഗീതം പാടി; ഒലിവുമലയിലേക്ക് പോയി.
When they had sung the Hallel, they went out to the Mount of Olives.
31 പിന്നെ യേശു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞത്: “ഈ രാത്രിയിൽത്തന്നെ എനിക്ക് സംഭവിക്കാൻപോകുന്ന കാര്യങ്ങൾനിമിത്തം നിങ്ങൾ എല്ലാവരും എന്നെ പരിത്യജിക്കും. “‘ഞാൻ ഇടയനെ വെട്ടും; ആട്ടിൻപറ്റം ചിതറിപ്പോകും,’ എന്നു തിരുവെഴുത്തിൽ രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നല്ലോ.
Then Yeshua said to them, “All of you will be made to stumble because of me tonight, for it is written, ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’
32 എന്നാൽ, ഞാൻ ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേറ്റതിനുശേഷം നിങ്ങൾക്ക് മുമ്പായി ഗലീലയിലേക്കു പോകും.”
But after I am raised up, I will go before you into Galilee.”
33 അപ്പോൾ പത്രോസ്, “എല്ലാവരും അങ്ങയെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചാലും ഞാൻ ഒരിക്കലും അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്യുകയില്ല” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
But Peter answered him, “Even if all will be made to stumble because of you, I will never be made to stumble.”
34 അതിന് യേശു, “ഈ രാത്രിയിൽത്തന്നെ, കോഴി കൂവുന്നതിനുമുമ്പ്, നിശ്ചയമായും എന്നെ നീ മൂന്നുപ്രാവശ്യം തിരസ്കരിച്ചിരിക്കും എന്നു ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു പറയുന്നു” എന്നു മറുപടി പറഞ്ഞു.
Yeshua said to him, “Most certainly I tell you that tonight, before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times.”
35 “ഒരിക്കലുമില്ല, അങ്ങയോടൊപ്പം മരിക്കേണ്ടിവന്നാലും, ഞാൻ അങ്ങയെ തിരസ്കരിക്കുകയില്ല.” പത്രോസ് പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചു. മറ്റു ശിഷ്യന്മാരും ഇതുതന്നെ ആവർത്തിച്ചു.
Peter said to him, “Even if I must die with you, I will not deny you.” All of the disciples also said likewise.
36 യേശു ശിഷ്യന്മാരുമൊത്ത് ഗെത്ത്ശേമന എന്ന സ്ഥലത്ത് എത്തി. “ഞാൻ അവിടെവരെ പ്രാർഥിക്കാൻ പോകുന്നു, അതുവരെ നിങ്ങൾ ഇവിടെ ഇരിക്കുക,” എന്ന് ശേഷം ശിഷ്യന്മാരോട് പറഞ്ഞിട്ട്,
Then Yeshua came with them to a place called Gethsemane, and said to his disciples, “Sit here, while I go there and pray.”
37 പത്രോസിനെയും സെബെദിയുടെ മക്കളായ യാക്കോബ്, യോഹന്നാൻ എന്നിവരെയും കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുപോയി. അവിടെവെച്ച് അദ്ദേഹം ദുഃഖവിവശനായി വ്യാകുലപ്പെടാൻ തുടങ്ങി.
He took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and severely troubled.
38 അപ്പോൾ യേശു, “എന്റെ പ്രാണനിൽ ദുഃഖം നിറഞ്ഞുകവിഞ്ഞിട്ട് ഞാൻ മരണാസന്നനായിരിക്കുന്നു. നിങ്ങൾ എന്നോടൊപ്പം ഇവിടെ ഉണർന്നിരിക്കുക” എന്ന് അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.
Then Yeshua said to them, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch with me.”
39 പിന്നെ യേശു അൽപ്പംകൂടെ മുമ്പോട്ടുചെന്ന് മുട്ടുകുത്തി മുഖം നിലംവരെ കുനിച്ച്, “എന്റെ പിതാവേ, സാധ്യമെങ്കിൽ ഈ പാനപാത്രം എന്നിൽനിന്ന് മാറ്റണമേ; എങ്കിലും എന്റെ ഇഷ്ടംപോലെയല്ല, അവിടത്തെ ഇഷ്ടംപോലെതന്നെ ആകട്ടെ” എന്നു പ്രാർഥിച്ചു.
He went forward a little, fell on his face, and prayed, saying, “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass away from me; nevertheless, not what I desire, but what you desire.”
40 അതിനുശേഷം, യേശു ശിഷ്യന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കൽ മടങ്ങിവന്നു. ഉറക്കത്തിലാണ്ടുപോയ ശിഷ്യന്മാരെക്കണ്ടിട്ട്, “ഒരു മണിക്കൂർപോലും എന്നോടുകൂടെ ഉണർന്നിരിക്കാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു കഴിയുന്നില്ലേ?” എന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം പത്രോസിനോട് ചോദിച്ചു.
He came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “What, couldn’t you watch with me for one hour?
41 “പ്രലോഭനത്തിൽ അകപ്പെടാതിരിക്കാൻ ഉണർന്നിരുന്ന് പ്രാർഥിക്കുക. ആത്മാവ് സന്നദ്ധം, എന്നാൽ ശരീരമോ ദുർബലം.”
Watch and pray, that you don’t enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
42 യേശു രണ്ടാമതും പോയി, “എന്റെ പിതാവേ, ഞാൻ പാനം ചെയ്യാതെ ഈ പാനപാത്രം നീങ്ങിപ്പോകുക സാധ്യമല്ലെങ്കിൽ അവിടത്തെ ഇഷ്ടംതന്നെ നിറവേറട്ടെ” എന്നു പ്രാർഥിച്ചു.
Again, a second time he went away and prayed, saying, “My Father, if this cup can’t pass away from me unless I drink it, your desire be done.”
43 അദ്ദേഹം തിരിച്ചെത്തിയപ്പോൾ നിദ്രാഭാരംകൊണ്ട് അവർ പിന്നെയും ഉറങ്ങുന്നതു കണ്ട്,
He came again and found them sleeping, for their eyes were heavy.
44 വീണ്ടും അവരെ വിട്ടുപോയി, മൂന്നാമതും അതേകാര്യംതന്നെ പറഞ്ഞു പ്രാർഥിച്ചു.
He left them again, went away, and prayed a third time, saying the same words.
45 പിന്നെ അദ്ദേഹം ശിഷ്യന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കൽ മടങ്ങിവന്ന്, “ഇപ്പോഴും നിങ്ങൾ ഉറങ്ങി വിശ്രമിക്കുകയാണോ? മനുഷ്യപുത്രൻ പാപികളുടെ കൈയിൽ ഏൽപ്പിക്കപ്പെടാൻപോകുന്ന സമയം ഇതാ, വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.
Then he came to his disciples and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? Behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.
46 എഴുന്നേൽക്കുക, നമുക്കു പോകാം. എന്നെ ഒറ്റിക്കൊടുക്കുന്നവൻ ഇതാ ഇവിടെ!” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
Arise, let’s be going. Behold, he who betrays me is at hand.”
47 യേശു സംസാരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നപ്പോൾത്തന്നെ, പന്ത്രണ്ട് ശിഷ്യന്മാരിൽ ഒരാളായ യൂദാ അവിടെയെത്തി. പുരോഹിതമുഖ്യന്മാരും സമുദായനേതാക്കന്മാരും അയച്ച ഒരു ജനസഞ്ചയം വാളുകളും വടികളുമേന്തി അവനോടൊപ്പം വന്നിരുന്നു.
While he was still speaking, behold, Judah, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and clubs, from the chief priests and elders of the people.
48 ഒറ്റിക്കൊടുക്കുന്ന, യൂദാ, “ഞാൻ ചുംബനംകൊണ്ട് ആരെ അഭിവാദനംചെയ്യുന്നോ; അദ്ദേഹത്തെ അറസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്യുക.” എന്ന ഒരടയാളം അവരുമായി പറഞ്ഞൊത്തിരുന്നു.
Now he who betrayed him had given them a sign, saying, “Whoever I kiss, he is the one. Seize him.”
49 അപ്പോൾത്തന്നെ യൂദാ യേശുവിന്റെ അടുത്തേക്കുചെന്ന്, “റബ്ബീ, വന്ദനം” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞ് അദ്ദേഹത്തെ ചുംബിച്ചു.
Immediately he came to Yeshua, and said, “Greetings, Rabbi!” and kissed him.
50 യേശു, “സ്നേഹിതാ, നീ വന്നതെന്തിനോ അതുതന്നെ ചെയ്യുക” എന്നു പ്രതിവചിച്ചു. ഉടനെ ജനം മുമ്പോട്ടുചെന്ന് യേശുവിനെ കടന്നുപിടിച്ച് അദ്ദേഹത്തെ ബന്ധിച്ചു.
Yeshua said to him, “Friend, why are you here?” Then they came and laid hands on Yeshua, and took him.
51 അപ്പോൾ യേശുവിനോടൊപ്പം നിന്നവരിൽ ഒരാൾ കൈനീട്ടി തന്റെ വാൾ വലിച്ചൂരി മഹാപുരോഹിതന്റെ ദാസനെ വെട്ടി; അയാളുടെ കാത് ഛേദിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.
Behold, one of those who were with Yeshua stretched out his hand and drew his sword, and struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear.
52 അപ്പോൾ യേശു അവനോട്, “നിന്റെ വാൾ ഉറയിലിടുക, വാളേന്തുന്നവരുടെയെല്ലാം അന്ത്യം വാൾകൊണ്ടുതന്നെയായിരിക്കും.
Then Yeshua said to him, “Put your sword back into its place, for all those who take the sword will die by the sword.
53 എനിക്ക് എന്റെ പിതാവിൽനിന്ന് സഹായം അഭ്യർഥിക്കാൻ കഴിയുകയില്ല എന്നാണോ നീ കരുതുന്നത്? ഇപ്പോൾത്തന്നെ അവിടന്ന് പതിനായിരക്കണക്കിന് ദൂതന്മാരെ എനിക്കുവേണ്ടി അണിനിരത്തുകയില്ലേ?
Or do you think that I couldn’t ask my Father, and he would even now send me more than twelve legions of angels?
54 അങ്ങനെയായാൽ ഇവയെല്ലാം സംഭവിക്കണം എന്ന തിരുവെഴുത്തുകൾ എങ്ങനെ നിവൃത്തിയാകും?” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
How then would the Scriptures be fulfilled that it must be so?”
55 അപ്പോൾത്തന്നെ യേശു ജനക്കൂട്ടത്തോട്, “ഞാൻ ഒരു വിപ്ളവം നയിക്കുന്നതിനാലാണോ നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ പിടിച്ചുകെട്ടാൻ വാളുകളും വടികളുമേന്തി വരുന്നത്? ഞാൻ ദിവസവും ഉപദേശിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് ദൈവാലയാങ്കണത്തിൽ ഇരുന്നപ്പോൾ എന്നെ നിങ്ങൾ എന്തുകൊണ്ട് അറസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്തില്ല?
In that hour Yeshua said to the multitudes, “Have you come out as against a robber with swords and clubs to seize me? I sat daily in the temple teaching, and you didn’t arrest me.
56 എന്നാൽ, തിരുവെഴുത്തിൽ രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്ന പ്രവാചകവചസ്സുകൾ നിറവേറുന്നതിന് ഇതെല്ലാം സംഭവിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അപ്പോൾത്തന്നെ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ എല്ലാവരും യേശുവിനെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ച് ഓടി രക്ഷപ്പെട്ടു.
But all this has happened that the Scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled.” Then all the disciples left him and fled.
57 യേശുവിനെ അറസ്റ്റ്ചെയ്തവർ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ കയ്യഫാ മഹാപുരോഹിതന്റെ അരമനയിലേക്ക് കൊണ്ടുപോയി. അവിടെ വേദജ്ഞരും സമുദായനേതാക്കന്മാരും ഒരുമിച്ചുകൂടി വന്നിരുന്നു.
Those who had taken Yeshua led him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were gathered together.
58 അപ്പോൾ പത്രോസ്, മഹാപുരോഹിതന്റെ അരമനാങ്കണത്തിൽ എത്തുന്നതുവരെ അൽപ്പം അകലംവിട്ട് അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പിന്നാലെ ചെന്നു. പത്രോസ് അങ്കണത്തിനുള്ളിൽക്കടന്ന്, എന്ത് സംഭവിക്കും എന്നറിയാൻ കാത്ത് കാവൽക്കാരോടൊപ്പം ഇരുന്നു.
But Peter followed him from a distance to the court of the high priest, and entered in and sat with the officers, to see the end.
59 പുരോഹിതമുഖ്യന്മാരും യെഹൂദന്യായാധിപസമിതി മുഴുവനും യേശുവിനെ വധശിക്ഷയ്ക്ക് ഏൽപ്പിക്കുന്നതിന് ഉതകുന്ന വ്യാജതെളിവുകൾ അദ്ദേഹത്തിനെതിരേ അന്വേഷിച്ചു.
Now the chief priests, the elders, and the whole council sought false testimony against Yeshua, that they might put him to death,
60 കള്ളസ്സാക്ഷ്യവുമായി പലരും മുമ്പോട്ടുവന്നെങ്കിലും അവർ ആഗ്രഹിച്ച നിലയിലുള്ളത് ഒന്നും അവർക്കു ലഭിച്ചില്ല. അവസാനം രണ്ടുപേർ മുന്നോട്ടുവന്ന്,
and they found none. Even though many false witnesses came forward, they found none. But at last two false witnesses came forward
61 “‘എനിക്ക് ദൈവാലയം തകർക്കാൻ കഴിയും; മൂന്ന് ദിവസത്തിനകം അത് പുനർനിർമിക്കാനും എനിക്ക് സാധിക്കും’ എന്ന് ഈ മനുഷ്യൻ പറഞ്ഞു” എന്നു ബോധിപ്പിച്ചു.
and said, “This man said, ‘I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.’”
62 അപ്പോൾ മഹാപുരോഹിതൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റുനിന്നുകൊണ്ട്, “നിനക്ക് മറുപടിയൊന്നും ഇല്ലേ? ഇവർ നിനക്കെതിരായി ഉന്നയിക്കുന്ന ഈ സാക്ഷ്യം എന്ത്?” എന്ന് യേശുവിനോട് ചോദിച്ചു.
The high priest stood up and said to him, “Have you no answer? What is this that these testify against you?”
63 യേശുവോ നിശ്ശബ്ദനായിരുന്നു. മഹാപുരോഹിതൻ അദ്ദേഹത്തോട്, “ജീവനുള്ള ദൈവത്തിന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ ഞാൻ നിന്നോട് ആജ്ഞാപിക്കുന്നു: നീ ദൈവപുത്രനായ ക്രിസ്തുവെങ്കിൽ ഞങ്ങളോടു പറയുക” എന്ന് ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടു.
But Yeshua stayed silent. The high priest answered him, “I adjure you by the living God that you tell us whether you are the Messiah, the Son of God.”
64 അതിന് യേശു, “താങ്കൾ പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെതന്നെ. ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോട് എല്ലാവരോടുമായി പ്രഖ്യാപിക്കുകയാണ്: ഇന്നുമുതൽ മനുഷ്യപുത്രൻ (ഞാൻ) സർവശക്തനായ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വലതുഭാഗത്ത് ഉപവിഷ്ടനായിരിക്കുന്നതും ആകാശമേഘങ്ങൾ വാഹനമാക്കി വരുന്നതും നിങ്ങൾ കാണും” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
Yeshua said to him, “You have said so. Nevertheless, I tell you, after this you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming on the clouds of the sky.”
65 ഇതു കേട്ടയുടൻതന്നെ മഹാപുരോഹിതൻ തന്റെ വസ്ത്രംകീറിക്കൊണ്ട്, “ഇയാൾ ദൈവദൂഷണം പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു. ഇനി നമുക്ക് വേറെ സാക്ഷികളുടെ ആവശ്യം എന്ത്? ഇതാ, ഇപ്പോൾ നിങ്ങൾതന്നെ ദൈവദൂഷണം കേട്ടുവല്ലോ.
Then the high priest tore his clothing, saying, “He has spoken blasphemy! Why do we need any more witnesses? Behold, now you have heard his blasphemy.
66 നിങ്ങൾ എന്തു വിധിക്കുന്നു?” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. “അയാൾ വധശിക്ഷയ്ക്ക് അർഹൻ,” എന്ന് അവർ മറുപടി പറഞ്ഞു.
What do you think?” They answered, “He is worthy of death!”
67 അപ്പോൾ അവർ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ മുഖത്ത് തുപ്പുകയും മുഷ്ടിചുരുട്ടി ഇടിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. ചിലർ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ അടിച്ചുകൊണ്ട്,
Then they spat in his face and beat him with their fists, and some slapped him,
68 “ക്രിസ്തുവേ, ആരാണ് നിന്നെ അടിച്ചത്? ഞങ്ങളോട് പ്രവചിക്കുക!” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
saying, “Prophesy to us, you Messiah! Who hit you?”
69 പത്രോസ് പുറത്ത് അങ്കണത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. ഒരു വേലക്കാരി അദ്ദേഹത്തെ സമീപിച്ച്, “നീയും ഗലീലക്കാരനായ യേശുവിനോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നല്ലോ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
Now Peter was sitting outside in the court, and a maid came to him, saying, “You were also with Yeshua, the Galilean!”
70 എന്നാൽ പത്രോസ് അവരുടെയെല്ലാം മുമ്പിൽവെച്ച് അതു നിഷേധിച്ച്, “നീ എന്താണ് പറയുന്നത് എനിക്ക്; മനസ്സിലാകുന്നില്ലല്ലോ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
But he denied it before them all, saying, “I don’t know what you are talking about.”
71 പിന്നെ അയാൾ അങ്കണകവാടത്തിലേക്ക് പോയി. അവിടെവെച്ച് മറ്റൊരു വേലക്കാരി അയാളെ കണ്ടിട്ട് അവിടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നവരോട്, “ഈ മനുഷ്യൻ നസറായനായ യേശുവിനോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
When he had gone out onto the porch, someone else saw him and said to those who were there, “This man also was with Yeshua of Nazareth.”
72 അയാൾ വീണ്ടും അതു നിഷേധിച്ചു; ആണയിട്ടുകൊണ്ട്, “ആ മനുഷ്യനെ എനിക്ക് അറിഞ്ഞുകൂടാ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
Again he denied it with an oath, “I don’t know the man.”
73 അൽപ്പസമയം കഴിഞ്ഞ്, അവിടെ നിന്നിരുന്നവർ പത്രോസിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്ന്, “ഒരു സംശയവുമില്ല, നീ അവരിൽ ഒരാൾതന്നെയാണ്, നിന്റെ ഉച്ചാരണംതന്നെ അതു വ്യക്തമാക്കുന്നല്ലോ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
After a little while those who stood by came and said to Peter, “Surely you are also one of them, for your speech makes you known.”
74 അപ്പോൾ പത്രോസ്, “ഞാൻ ആ മനുഷ്യനെ അറിയുകയേ ഇല്ല!” എന്ന് അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ട് ആണയിടാനും ശപിക്കാനും തുടങ്ങി. ഉടനെ കോഴി കൂവി.
Then he began to curse and to swear, “I don’t know the man!” Immediately the rooster crowed.
75 അപ്പോൾ, “കോഴി കൂവുന്നതിനുമുമ്പ് മൂന്നുപ്രാവശ്യം നീ എന്നെ തിരസ്കരിക്കും” എന്ന് യേശു തന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞിരുന്ന വാക്ക് ഓർത്ത് പത്രോസ് പുറത്തേക്കുപോയി അതിദുഃഖത്തോടെ പൊട്ടിക്കരഞ്ഞു.
Peter remembered the word which Yeshua had said to him, “Before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times.” Then he went out and wept bitterly.
