< Amosa 7 >

1 Zao ty natoro’ Iehovà, Talè, ahy, Ingo, namboare’e fifamorohotam-balala te nitovoañe i ampemba afaray, le hehe t’ie nandimbe ty fitataha’ i mpanjakay i tinogy an-doha-taoñey.
This is what the Lord God showed me: he was forming a swarm of locusts, when the late spring grass began to come up after the king’s share had been harvested.
2 Aa naho hene nabotse’ iareo ze ahetse amy taney eo, le hoe ty asako tama’e, Ry Iehovà, Talè, ehe apoho; akore ty hahafijohaña’ Iakobe? Ie kede.
And when they had finished devouring all the land’s vegetation, I said: ‘Lord God, forgive, I beg you! How can Jacob survive, for he is so helpless?’
3 Aa le napo’ Iehovà; Tsy hanoeñe zay, hoe t’Iehovà.
The Lord relented. This will not happen,’ said the Lord.
4 Ie añe le inao ka ty naboa’ Iehovà, Talè: Heheke te kinanji’ Iehovà, Talè ty zaka añ’afo; finorototo’e i laleke beiy vaho namototse nampigodrañe i taney.
This is what he showed me: the Lord God was giving command to execute judgment by fire. It burned up the great deep, and had begun to devour the fields, and I said:
5 Aa le hoe raho, Ry Iehovà, Talè, Aziro! iambaneako; aia ty hijohaña’ Iakobe, ie kede?
‘Lord God, forgive, I beg you! How can Jacob survive, for he is so helpless?’
6 Aa le nado’ Iehovà: Tsy hanoeñe ka zay, hoe t’Iehovà, Talè.
The Lord relented. ‘This will not happen either,’ said the Lord.
7 Zao ka ty natoro’e ahy, ingo te nijohañe ambone kijoly nanoeñe an-tàlin-kahity eo t’i Talè, reketse ty talin-kahity am-pità’e ao.
This is what the Lord God showed me: the Lord was standing beside a wall built with a plumb line, with a plumb line in his hand.
8 Le hoe t’Iehovà amako, O Amose, ino o isa’oo? Le hoe raho, Talin-kahity. Aa hoe t’i Talè; Hehe, hapoko añivo’ ondatiko Israeleo ty talin-kahitiko; tsy hiheveako ka.
And the Lord said to me, ‘What do you see, Amos?’ And I answered, ‘A plumb line,’ Then the Lord said, ‘Watch: I am setting a plumb line in the midst of my people Israel, I will no longer overlook their crookedness.
9 Ho koake o toets’ abo’ Ietsakeo, naho hanoeñe bijon-draha o toe’ Israele miambakeo; vaho hitroatse amy anjomba’ Ieroboame raho reketse fibara.
And the high places of Isaac will be desolate, the sanctuaries of Israel will be laid waste, and I will rise up against the house of Jeroboam with the sword.’
10 Nampañitrik’ am’ Ieroboame mpanjaka’ Israele t’i Amatsià mpisoro’ i Betele, nanao ty hoe, Nikinia azo t’i Amose añ’ anjomba’ Israele ao; tsy leo’ o taneo ze fonga saontsi’e.
Then Amaziah, chief priest of Bethel sent this message to King Jeroboam of Israel: ‘Amos has conspired against you right in the heart of Israel. The country cannot survive all his words.
11 Fa hoe ty asa’ i Amose, Inao, hampihomahem-pibara t’Ieroboame, vaho tsy mete tsy hasese mb’am-pandrohizañ’ añe boak’ an-tane’e ao t’Israele.
Amos has said, “Jeroboam will die by the sword, and Israel will be led away captive out of their land.”’
12 Aa le hoe t’i Amatsià amy Amose, Ry mpioniñeo, akia, mitribaña an-day mb’an-tane’ Iehoda mb’eo, le kamao añe o mahakama’oo, vaho añe ty itokia’o,
And Amaziah said to Amos, ‘Leave, you who see visions, go to the land of Judah. Earn your bread there and prophesy there,
13 fa ko mitoky ka e Betele ao, amy t’ie ty toe-masi’ i mpanjakay vaho rova-bei’ ty fifeheañe toy.
but don’t prophesy any more at Bethel, for it is the king’s sanctuary, and it is the royal residence.’
14 Aa le hoe ty natoi’ i Amose amy Amatsià, Izaho tsy mpitoky, tsy anam-pitoky, fa mpihare naho mpañalahala sakoa;
‘I am no prophet,’ Amos answered Amaziah, ‘nor trained as one. I am a shepherd and a keeper of sycamores fig trees.
15 vaho rinambe’ Iehovà ami’ty fañarahañe i lia-raikey, le hoe t’Iehovà amako, Akia, mitokia am’ ondatiko Israeleo.
But the Lord took me away from following the flock, and the Lord said to me, “Go, prophesy to my people Israel.”
16 Janjiño arè ty tsara’ Iehovà: Hoe ty asa’o: Ko mitoky am’ Israele vaho ko mampipoke saontsy amy anjomba’ Ietsakey.
Now therefore listen to the Lord’s message: “You say not to prophesy against Israel, nor to preach against the house of Isaac.
17 Aa le hoe ty nitsarà’ Iehovà; Ho tsimirira an-drova ao ty vali’o, naho hampikorovohem-pibara o ana-dahi’oo naho o anak-ampela’oo, naho ho zarazaraeñe ty tane’o; naho hikoromak’ an-tane tiva eo rehe; toe hasese mb’am-pandrohizañ’ añe boak’an-tane’e ao t’Israele.
But the Lord says: Your wife will become a prostitute in the city, your sons and your daughters will fall by the sword, your land will be divided up, you will die on unclean soil, and Israel will be led away captive out of their land.”’
