< 2 Tantara 20 >

1 Añe zay, le nimb’eo hihotakotak’ am’Iehosafate o ana’ i Moabeo naho o ana’ i Amoneo, mitraok’ ami’ty ondaty ila’e.
It came to pass after this also, [that] the children of Moab, and the children of Ammon, and with them [other] beside the Ammonites, came against Jehoshaphat to battle.
2 Le pok’ eo ty nitalily am’ Iehosafate ty hoe: Fa mb’atoa ty valobohòke boak’ alafe’ i riakey hirik’ Arame añe; le inao fa e Katsetsone-tamare iereo, e En-gedý ey henaneo.
Then there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying, There cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea on this side Syria; and, behold, they [be] in Hazazon-tamar, which [is] En-gedi.
3 Nihembañe amy zao t’Iehosafate, le nifahara’e tsoeke t’Iehovà vaho nanitsike Iehodà nitsèy lilitse.
And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.
4 Nifanontoñe amy zao t’Iehoda, nipay imba am’ Iehovà; le boak’ amy ze hene rova’ Iehoda ty nivoria’ iareo hitsoeke Iehovà.
And Judah gathered themselves together, to ask [help] of the LORD: even out of all the cities of Judah they came to seek the LORD.
5 Nijohañe amy fivori’ Iehoda naho Ierosalaimey t’Iehosafate, añ’ anjomba’ Iehovà aolo’ i kiririsa vaoy;
And Jehoshaphat stood in the congregation of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the LORD, before the new court,
6 nanao ty hoe; Ry Iehovà Andrianañaharen-droae’ay, tsy Ihe hao t’i Andrianañahare andindimoneñe ao? Tsy Ihe hao ty Mpifehe ze fonga fifehea’ o kilakila’ ondatio? Le am-pità’o ty hafatrarañe naho ty haozarañe vaho tsy eo ty hahafitroatse ama’o.
And said, O LORD God of our fathers, [art] not thou God in heaven? and rulest [not] thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thine hand [is there not] power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee?
7 Tsy Ihe hao, ry Andrianañahare’ay, ty nandroake o mpimoneñe an-tane atoio aolo’ ondati’o Israeleo vaho natolo’o amo tiri’ i Avrahame rañe’oo ho nainai’e donia?
[Art] not thou our God, [who] didst drive out the inhabitants of this land before thy people Israel, and gavest it to the seed of Abraham thy friend for ever?
8 Aa le nimoneñe ao iereo vaho nandranjy toe-masiñe ho amy tahina’oy ami’ty hoe:
And they dwelt therein, and have built thee a sanctuary therein for thy name, saying,
9 Ie mifetsak’ ama’ay ty hankàñe, i fibaray, i zakay, ke angorosy, he hasalikoañe, le hijohañe añatrefa’ ty anjomba toy naho aolo’o eo zahay (amy te añ’anjomba atoy ty tahina’o) naho itoreova’ay ty haembera’aiy, le hijanjin-dRehe vaho handrombake.
If, [when] evil cometh upon us, [as] the sword, judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we stand before this house, and in thy presence, (for thy name [is] in this house, ) and cry unto thee in our affliction, then thou wilt hear and help.
10 Ie amy zao, vazohò o ana’ i Amoneo naho i Moabeo vaho i Vohi-Seirey, ie tsy nado’o ho tamè’ Israele niavotse an-tane Mitsraime añe, naho niary tsy nirotsaheñe;
And now, behold, the children of Ammon and Moab and mount Seir, whom thou wouldest not let Israel invade, when they came out of the land of Egypt, but they turned from them, and destroyed them not;
11 hehe ty atolo’ iareo ama’ay henaneo, ie mb’ etoa hañary anay amy fanaña’o natolo’o anay ho lovay.
Behold, [I say, how] they reward us, to come to cast us out of thy possession, which thou hast given us to inherit.
12 Ry Andrianañahare’ay, Tsy Ihe hao ty hametsa-jaka am’ iereo? tsy ama’ay ty hafatrarañe hahafitroatse amo valobohòke jabajaba mb’ etoañe hiatreatre ama’aio, vaho tsy hai’ay ty hanoeñe, fe ama’o o fihaino’aio.
O our God, wilt thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes [are] upon thee.
13 Le fonga nijohañe añatrefa’ Iehovà t’Iehodà naho o keleia’eo, o vali’eo vaho o amori’eo.
And all Judah stood before the LORD, with their little ones, their wives, and their children.
14 Aa le nivotrak’ am’ Iakaziele, ana’ i Zekarià, ana’ i Benaià, ana’ Ieiele, ana’ i Matanià nte-Levy amo ana’ i Asafeo, ty Arofo’ Iehovà añivo’ i fivoriy;
Then upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, came the Spirit of the LORD in the midst of the congregation;
15 le hoe re: Mijanjiña, ry Iehoda naho o mpimone’ Ierosalaimeo naho ry Iehosafate mpanjaka; Hoe ty nafè’ Iehovà ama’ areo: Ko hembañe, ko miroreke ty amy valobohòke ra’elahiy; toe tsy anahareo i hotakotakey, fa an’ Andrianañahare.
And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle [is] not yours, but God’s.
16 Mizotsoa mb’am’ iereo mb’eo hamaray; Inao! hionjomb’ am-pitroara’ i Zize iereo, le ho tendrek’ama’ areo amy figadoña’ i vavataney, aolo’ i fatrambei’ Ieroeley.
To morrow go ye down against them: behold, they come up by the cliff of Ziz; and ye shall find them at the end of the brook, before the wilderness of Jeruel.
17 Tsy inahareo ty hialy amy hotakotakey, mijadoña eo, mijohaña an-kanintsiñe vaho isaho ty fandrombaha’ Iehovà, ry Iehodà naho Ierosalaime, ko mirevendreveñe, ko mangetraketrake, miavota hiatreke iareo hamaray; fa hañimba anahareo t’Iehovà.
Ye shall not [need] to fight in this [battle: ] set yourselves, stand ye [still], and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the LORD [will be] with you.
18 Aa le nidròdreke, laharañe mb’ an-tane t’Iehosafate; le nibabok’ añatrefa’ Iehovà iaby t’Iehoda naho o mpimone’ Ierosalaimeo, nitalaho am’ Iehovà.
And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with [his] face to the ground: and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell before the LORD, worshipping the LORD.
19 Nitroatse amy zao o nte-Levio, o anan-te-Kehàteo naho o anan-te-Koraheo handrenge Iehovà Andrianañahare’ Israele, am-pipoñafam-peo.
And the Levites, of the children of the Kohathites, and of the children of the Korhites, stood up to praise the LORD God of Israel with a loud voice on high.
20 Aa le nañaleñaleñe amy loak’ androy iereo, nionjomb’ an-diolio’ i Tekoà mb’eo; ie nañavelo iereo le nijohañe eo t’Iehosafate, nanao ty hoe; Janjiño raho, ry Iehoda naho ry mpimone’ Ierosalaimeo; iatò t’Iehovà Andrianañahare’ areo le hijadoñe; iantofo o mpitoki’eo le hahatafetetse.
And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
21 Ie fa nisafiry am’ondatio le tinendre’e o hisabo amy Iehovào naho o handrenge am-pihaminañe miavakeo, hiaolo o lahindefoñeo, ami’ty hoe: Andriaño t’Iehovà, fa nainai’e ty fiferenaiña’e.
And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the LORD, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the LORD; for his mercy [endureth] for ever.
22 Aa ie namototse nisabo naho nandrenge iereo, le nampipoha’ Iehovà mpamandroñe hanampoke o ana’ i Amone naho i Moabe naho o tam-bohi-Seire ho naname Iehodao, le zinevo iereo.
And when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten.
23 Amy te nitroatse amo mpimoneñe am-bohi-Seireio o ana’ i Amone naho Moabeo, nanjamañe naho nandrotsake; aa ie fonga finongo’ iereo o mpimone’ i Seireo le songa nifanjamañe ka.
For the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of mount Seir, utterly to slay and destroy [them: ] and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, every one helped to destroy another.
24 Aa ie niheo mb’amy fitilik’ abom-patrambeiy mb’eo t’Iehodà, le niisa’ iereo i valobohòkey; hehe te lolo avao ty nifitak’ an-tane eo, leo raike tsy nibotitsike.
And when Judah came toward the watch tower in the wilderness, they looked unto the multitude, and, behold, they [were] dead bodies fallen to the earth, and none escaped.
25 Ie nivotrake eo t’Iehosafate naho ondati’eo hikopake, le tendreke te tsifotofoto ty vara naho ty lolo niravake vato soa vaho nangozie’ iereo, bey ta ty lefe-jinieñe; telo andro t’ie nangalake i kopakey ami’ty hamaro’e.
And when Jehoshaphat and his people came to take away the spoil of them, they found among them in abundance both riches with the dead bodies, and precious jewels, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away: and they were three days in gathering of the spoil, it was so much.
26 Ie amy andro fahefatsey le nifanontoñe am-bavatane’ i Berakà ao nañandriañe Iehovà; aa le nitokaveñe ty hoe Vavatanem-Berakà ty añara’ i toetsey pak’ androany.
And on the fourth day they assembled themselves in the valley of Berachah; for there they blessed the LORD: therefore the name of the same place was called, The valley of Berachah, unto this day.
27 Songa nimpoly amy zao ze ondati’ Iehodà naho Ierosalaime, Iehosafate ty niaolo, nibalike mb’e Ierosalaime am-pirebehañe; ie nampirebehe’ Iehovà ty amo rafelahio.
Then they returned, every man of Judah and Jerusalem, and Jehoshaphat in the forefront of them, to go again to Jerusalem with joy; for the LORD had made them to rejoice over their enemies.
28 Aa le pok’ e Ierosalaime ao iereo reketse fikontsañañe naho marovany naho trompetra nimb’ añ’ anjomba’ Iehovà mb’eo.
And they came to Jerusalem with psalteries and harps and trumpets unto the house of the LORD.
29 Le nifetsak’ amo fifehea’ i taney iabio ty firevendreveñañe aman’Añahare, ie jinanjiñe te Iehovà ty nialy amo rafelahi’ Israeleo.
And the fear of God was on all the kingdoms of [those] countries, when they had heard that the LORD fought against the enemies of Israel.
30 Toe nianjiñe ty fifehea’ Iehosafate; amy te nampitofàn’ Añahare’e o añariary azeo.
So the realm of Jehoshaphat was quiet: for his God gave him rest round about.
31 Aa le nifehe Iehoda t’Iehosafate; niorotse nifehe amy tao’e faha telopolo-lime ambiy, le nifeleke e Ierosalaime ao roapolo taoñe lime amby, i Azobà ana’ i Silhý ty tahinan-drene’e.
And Jehoshaphat reigned over Judah: [he was] thirty and five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned twenty and five years in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name [was] Azubah the daughter of Shilhi.
32 Nañavelo an-tsata’ i Asa, rae’e re, tsy nivike ama’e fa nanao ze fahiti’e am-pihaino’ Iehovà.
And he walked in the way of Asa his father, and departed not from it, doing [that which was] right in the sight of the LORD.
33 Fe mboe tsy nafahañe añe o toets’ aboo; amy te tsy najado’ ondatio aman’ Añaharen-droae’ iareo o arofo’ iareoo.
Howbeit the high places were not taken away: for as yet the people had not prepared their hearts unto the God of their fathers.
34 Aa ty amo fitoloña’ Iehosafate ila’eo, ty valoha’e pak’ ampara’e, oniño t’ie misokitse amo enta’ Ieho ana’ i Kananý najoñe amy bokem-panjaka’ Israeleio.
Now the rest of the acts of Jehoshaphat, first and last, behold, they [are] written in the book of Jehu the son of Hanani, who [is] mentioned in the book of the kings of Israel.
35 Ie añe, nipiteke amy Ahkazià, mpanjaka’ Israele lo tserekey, t’Iehosafate mpanjaka’ Iehoda;
And after this did Jehoshaphat king of Judah join himself with Ahaziah king of Israel, who did very wickedly:
36 nirekets’ ama’e hamboatse sambo hionjoñe mb’e Tarsise mb’eo; le namboare’ iareo e Etsione-gebere ao i sambo rey.
And he joined himself with him to make ships to go to Tarshish: and they made the ships in Ezion-geber.
37 Aa le nitoky amy Iehosafate t’i Eliezere, ana’ i Doda nte Maresà nanao ty hoe: Kanao nirekets’ amy Ahkazià rehe le fa nipozahe’ Iehovà o fitoloña’oo. Aa le nifoy iaby i sambo rey, tsy nahafionjoñe mb’e Tarsise.
Then Eliezer the son of Dodavah of Mareshah prophesied against Jehoshaphat, saying, Because thou hast joined thyself with Ahaziah, the LORD hath broken thy works. And the ships were broken, that they were not able to go to Tarshish.
