1 Awo Mukama n’ayogera ne Musa mu Ddungu lya Sinaayi mu mwezi ogw’olubereberye ogw’omwaka ogwokubiri kasookedde bava mu nsi y’e Misiri. N’amugamba nti,
And Yahweh spake unto Moses in the desert of Sinai, in the second year by their coming forth out of the land of Egypt in the first month, saying:
2 “Lagira abaana ba Isirayiri bakwatenga Embaga ey’Okuyitako mu ntuuko zaayo nga bwe kyalagirwa.
Let the sons of Israel therefore, keep the passover in its appointed season:
3 Mugikwatanga mu ntuuko zaayo ezaalagirwa ku lunaku olw’ekkumi n’ennya olw’omwezi guno nga buwungeera, ng’amateeka n’ebiragiro byako bwe bigamba.”
on the fourteenth day of this month between the two evenings, shall ye keep it, in its appointed season, —according to all the statute thereof and according to all the regulations thereof, shall ye keep it.
4 Bw’atyo Musa n’agamba abaana ba Isirayiri okukwata Embaga ey’Okuyitako;
Then spake Moses unto the sons of Israel that they should keep the passover.
5 era ne bakola bwe batyo mu Ddungu lya Sinaayi ku lunaku olw’ekkumi n’ennya olw’omwezi ogw’olubereberye nga buwungeera. Abaana ba Isirayiri baakola ebyo byonna nga Mukama bwe yalagira Musa.
So they kept the passover in the first [month], on the fourteenth day of the month between the two evenings, in the desert of Sinai, —according to all that Yahweh commanded Moses, so, did the sons of Israel.
6 Naye waaliwo abantu abamu abataasobola kukwata Mbaga ey’Okuyitako ku lunaku olwo, kubanga tebaali balongoofu olwokubanga baali bakutte ku mufu. Bwe batyo ne bajja eri Musa ne Alooni ku lunaku olwo lwennyini,
But so it was that there were, certain men who had become unclean by a dead person, and could not keep the passover on that day, —therefore came they near before Moses and before Aaron on that day.
7 ne bagamba Musa nti, “Tetuli balongoofu kubanga twakutte ku mufu; lwaki tugaanibwa okuleetera Mukama ekiweebwayo kye, awamu n’abaana ba Isirayiri, mu ntuuko zaakyo ezaalagirwa?”
Then said those men unto him, We, are unclean by a dead person, —wherefore should we become of less esteem for want of offering the oblation of Yahweh in its appointed season, in the midst of the sons of Israel?
8 Musa n’abaddamu nti, “Mulinde mmale okumanya Mukama Katonda ky’anandagira ku nsonga yammwe.”
And Moses said unto them, —Stay, and let me hear, what Yahweh shall command concerning you!
9 Awo Mukama Katonda n’agamba Musa nti,
Then spake Yahweh unto Moses, saying:
10 “Yogera eri abaana ba Isirayiri obagambe nti, ‘Omu ku mmwe, oba omu ku bazzukulu bammwe ab’omu mirembe egiriddawo, singa afuuka atali mulongoofu olw’okukwata ku mufu, oba nga taliiwo yagenda olugendo olw’ewala, anaakwatanga Embaga ey’Okuyitako eya Mukama Katonda.
Speak unto the sons of Israel, saying, —Though, any man, be unclean by a dead person or be on a journey afar off, whether in the case of yourselves or of your generations, yet shall he keep a passover unto Yahweh.
11 Banaakwatanga embaga eyo ku lunaku olw’ekkumi n’ennya mu mwezi ogwokubiri akawungeezi. Omwana gw’endiga banaagulyanga n’omugaati ogutali muzimbulukuse n’enva ez’ebikoola ebikaawa.
In the second month, on the fourteenth day between the two evenings, shall they keep it, —with unleavened cakes and bitter herbs, shall they eat it.
12 Tebagulekangawo okutuusa enkeera, wadde okumenya ku magumba gaagwo. Bwe banaakwatanga Embaga ey’Okuyitako kinaabasaaniranga okukola ng’amateeka g’embaga eyo bwe galagira.
They shall not leave thereof until morning, and no bone, shall they break therein—according to all the statutes of the passover, shall they keep it.
13 Naye omuntu omulongoofu ate nga teyagenda lugendo, kyokka n’atakwata Mbaga ey’Okuyitako, anaawaŋŋangusibwanga n’ava mu banne, kubanga teyaleeta kiweebwayo kya Mukama Katonda mu ntuuko zaakyo. Ekibi ky’omuntu oyo kinaabeeranga ku mutwe gwe.
But as for the man who is, clean, and no a journey, doth not chance to be and yet faileth to keep the passover, that person shall he cut off from among his kinsfolk, —for the oblation of Yahweh, hath he not offered in its appointed season, his own sin, shall, that man, bear.
14 “‘Omunnaggwanga anaabeeranga mu mmwe bw’anaabanga ayagala okukwata Embaga ey’Okuyitako kwa Mukama Katonda anaagikwatanga ng’agoberera amateeka n’ebiragiro byayo. Munaabanga n’ebiragiro byebimu ebinaagobererwanga bannaggwanga era ne bannansi.’”
When moreover there may sojourn with you a sojourner, who would keep a passover unto Yahweh, according to the statute of the passover, and according to the regulation thereof, so, must he keep [it], —one statute, shall there be for you, both for the sojourner and for the native of the land.
15 Ku lunaku Weema ya Mukama ey’Endagaano lwe yasimbibwa, ekire ne kigibikka. Okuva akawungeezi okutuusa ku makya ekire ekyali waggulu wa Weema ne kifaanana ng’omuliro.
Now, on the day the habitation was reared, the cloud covered the habitation, even the tent of the testimony, —and in the evening, it was over the habitation, like an appearance of fire, until morning,
16 Bwe kityo bwe kyabeeranga; ekire kyagibikkanga emisana naye ekiro ne kifaanana ng’omuliro.
Thus, came it to pass continually, the cloud, covered it, —and an appearance of fire, by night;
17 Era ekire buli lwe kyaggyibwanga ku Weema, olwo abaana ba Isirayiri ne basitula mu lugendo lwabwe; era awo ekire ekyo we kyayimiriranga, nga n’abaana ba Isirayiri we basiisira.
but at the bidding of the upgoings of the cloud from off the tent, then, after that, the sons of Israel set forward, —and in the place where the cloud abode, there the sons of Israel encamped:
18 Mukama bwe yalagiranga abaana ba Isirayiri okusitula mu lugendo lwabwe, nga basitula; Mukama bwe yabalagiranga okukuba olusiisira nga bakola bwe batyo. Ebbanga lyonna ekire lye kyamalanga waggulu wa Weema nga nabo lye bamala mu lusiisira lwabwe.
at the bidding of Yahweh, the sons of Israel set forward, and at the bidding of Yahweh, they encamped, —all the days that the cloud abode upon the habitation, they remained encamped.
19 Ekire ne bwe kyamalanga ennaku ennyingi waggulu wa Weema, abaana ba Isirayiri baagonderanga ekiragiro kya Mukama Katonda ne batasitula kutambula.
And when the cloud lengthened out its stay upon the habitation, many days, then would the sons of Israel keep the watch of Yahweh, and would not set forward.
20 Oluusi ekire kyamalanga ennaku ntono waggulu wa Weema; naye ng’ekiragiro kya Mukama Katonda bwe kyali, nga basigala mu lusiisira lwabwe; kyokka oluvannyuma nga basitula okutambula ng’ekiragiro kya Mukama Katonda bwe kyabanga.
And, so it was, when the cloud would be a few days upon the habitation, at the bidding of Yahweh, they remained encamped, and at the bidding of Yahweh, they set forward.
21 Oluusi ekire kyabeerangawo okuva akawungeezi okutuusa mu makya; naye ekire bwe kyaggyibwangawo mu makya, ng’olwo basitula okutambula; oba bwe kyasigalangawo olunaku n’ekiro kyonna oluvannyuma ne kiggyibwawo, ng’olwo basitula okutambula.
And, so it was, when the cloud would be from evening until morning, as soon as the cloud went up in the morning, so soon did they set forward: whether by day or by night, as soon as the cloud went up, so soon did they set forward.
22 Ekire ne bwe kyabeeranga waggulu wa Weema okumala ennaku ebbiri oba omwezi, abaana ba Isirayiri nga babeera awo mu lusiisira lwabwe nga tebasitula kutambula; naye bwe kyaggyibwangawo ng’olwo basitula okutambula.
Whether for two days or a month or a year, the cloud lengthened out its stay upon the habitation abiding thereupon, the sons of Israel remained encamped and set not forward, —but at the upgoings thereof, they set forward.
23 Mukama bwe yabalagiranga okusigala, nga basigala mu lusiisira lwabwe nga bawummudde, ate Mukama bwe yabalagiranga okutambula, nga basitula okutambula. Baagonderanga ekiragiro kya Mukama nga bwe yalagira Musa.
At the bidding of Yahweh, they encamped, and at the bidding of Yahweh, they set forward, —the watch of Yahweh, they kept, at the bidding of Yahweh by the hand of Moses.
