1 Ekibuga ekyajjulanga abantu nga kyabuliddwa! Ekyabanga eky’amaanyi mu mawanga, nga kifuuse nga nnamwandu! Eyali kabaka omukazi ng’alina amasaza, afuuse omuddu omukazi.
How does the city sit solitary, that was full of people! how is she become as a widow! she that was great among the nations, and princess among the provinces, how is she become tributary!
2 Ekiro akaaba nnyo nnyini, n’amaziga ne gakulukuta ku matama ge. Mu baganzi be bonna, talina n’omu amubeesabeesa. Mikwano gye bonna bamuliddemu olukwe, bafuuse balabe be.
She weeps sore in the night, and her tears are on her cheeks: among all her lovers she has none to comfort her: all her friends have dealt treacherously with her, they are become her enemies.
3 Yuda agenze mu buwaŋŋanguse oluvannyuma lw’okubonaabona n’okukozesebwa n’obukambwe ng’omuddu. Kati abeera mu bannamawanga, talaba kifo kya kuwummuliramu. Bonna abamunoonya bamusanga mu nnaku ye.
Judah is gone into captivity because of affliction, and because of great servitude: she dwells among the heathen, she finds no rest: all her persecutors overtook her between the straits.
4 Enguudo za Sayuuni zikungubaga, kubanga tewali n’omu ajja ku mbaga zaakyo ezaalagibwa. Emiryango gye gyonna girekeddwa awo, bakabona be, basinda; bawala be abaweereza bali mu buyinike, naye yennyini ali mu nnaku.
The ways of Zion do mourn, because none come to the solemn feasts: all her gates are desolate: her priests sigh, her virgins are afflicted, and she is in bitterness.
5 Abamuyigganya bafuuse bakama be; abalabe be beeyagala, kubanga Mukama amuleeseeko ennaku, olw’ebibi bye ebingi. Abaana be batwalibbwa mu buwaŋŋanguse, bawambiddwa omulabe.
Her adversaries are the chief, her enemies prosper; for the LORD has afflicted her for the multitude of her transgressions: her children are gone into captivity before the enemy.
6 Ekitiibwa kyonna ekyali ku muwala wa Sayuuni kimuweddeko, abalangira be bafuuse ng’ennangaazi ezibuliddwa omuddo; mu bunafu, badduse ababagoba.
And from the daughter of Zion all her beauty is departed: her princes are become like harts that find no pasture, and they are gone without strength before the pursuer.
7 Mu nnaku ez’okubonaabona kwe ng’asagaasagana, Yerusaalemi ajjukira ebintu eby’omuwendo byonna bye yalinanga mu nnaku ez’edda. Abantu be bwe baagwa mu mikono gy’omulabe, tewaali n’omu amubeera; abalabe be ne bamutunuulira ne bamusekerera olw’okugwa kwe.
Jerusalem remembered in the days of her affliction and of her miseries all her pleasant things that she had in the days of old, when her people fell into the hand of the enemy, and none did help her: the adversaries saw her, and did mock at her sabbaths.
8 Yerusaalemi yayonoona nnyo nnyini, bw’atyo n’afuuka atali mulongoofu. Bonna abaamussangamu ekitiibwa bamunyooma, kubanga balabye bw’asigalidde awo; ye yennyini asinda, era akwatibwa ensonyi.
Jerusalem has grievously sinned; therefore she is removed: all that honoured her despise her, because they have seen her nakedness: yea, she sighs, and turns backward.
9 Obutali bulongoofu bwe bwali mu birenge bye; teyassaayo mwoyo ku bulamu bwe obw’ebiseera ebijja. Okugwa kwe kwali kwa kyewuunyo; tewaali n’omu amubeesabeesa. “Ayi Mukama, tunuulira okubonaabona kwange, kubanga omulabe awangudde.”
Her filthiness is in her skirts; she remembers not her last end; therefore she came down wonderfully: she had no comforter. O LORD, behold my affliction: for the enemy has magnified himself.
10 Omulabe yagololera omukono ku bintu bya Yerusaalemi byonna eby’omuwendo; yalaba amawanga amakaafiiri nga gayingira awatukuvu we, beebo be wali ogaanye okuyingira mu kuŋŋaaniro lyo.
The adversary has spread out his hand upon all her pleasant things: for she has seen that the heathen entered into her sanctuary, whom you did command that they should not enter into your congregation.
11 Abantu be bonna basinda nga bwe banoonya ekyokulya; eby’obugagga byabwe babiwanyisaamu emmere, okusobola okuba abalamu. “Laba, Ayi Mukama Katonda, onziseeko omwoyo kubanga nnyoomebwa.”
All her people sigh, they seek bread; they have given their pleasant things for food to relieve the soul: see, O LORD, and consider; for I am become vile.
12 “Mmwe tekibakwatako, mmwe mwenna abayitawo? mwetegereze mulabe obanga waliwo obuyinike obwenkana, obwantukako, Mukama bwe yanteekako ku lunaku olw’obusungu bwe obungi.
Is it nothing to you, all you that pass by? behold, and see if there be any sorrow like unto my sorrow, which is done unto me, wherewith the LORD has afflicted me in the day of his fierce anger.
13 “Yaweereza omuliro okuva waggulu, ne gukka mu magumba gange. Yatega ebigere byange akatimba, n’anzizaayo emabega. Yandeka mpuubadde, nga nzirise olunaku lwonna.
From above has he sent fire into my bones, and it prevails against them: he has spread a net for my feet, he has turned me back: he has made me desolate and faint all the day.
14 “Ebibi byange binfuukidde ekikoligo; bisibiddwa ne binywezebwa omukono gwe. Binzitoowerera mu bulago, era bimmazeemu amaanyi. Mukama ampaddeyo mu mikono gy’abo be siyinza kugumiikiriza.
The yoke of my transgressions is bound by his hand: they are wreathed, and come up upon my neck: he has made my strength to fall, the LORD has delivered me into their hands, from whom I am not able to rise up.
15 “Mukama anyoomye abalwanyi abazira bonna abaali nange; akuŋŋaanyizza eggye okunwanyisa, okuzikiriza abavubuka bange. Mukama alinnyiridde Omuwala Embeerera owa Yuda, ng’omuntu bw’asambirira ezabbibu mu lyato ng’asogola.
The LORD has trodden under foot all my mighty men in the midst of me: he has called an assembly against me to crush my young men: the LORD has trodden the virgin, the daughter of Judah, as in a winepress.
16 “Kyenva nkaaba, amaaso gange ne gajjula amaziga, kubanga tewali n’omu andi kumpi okumbeesabeesa, ayinza okunzizaamu amaanyi. Abaana bange banakuwavu kubanga omulabe awangudde.”
For these things I weep; mine eye, mine eye runs down with water, because the comforter that should relieve my soul is far from me: my children are desolate, because the enemy prevailed.
17 Sayuuni agolola emikono gye, naye tewali n’omu amudduukirira. Mukama awadde ekiragiro ku Yakobo baliraanwa be babeere balabe be; Yerusaalemi afuuse ekintu ekitali kirongoofu wakati mu bo.
Zion spreads forth her hands, and there is none to comfort her: the LORD has commanded concerning Jacob, that his adversaries should be round about him: Jerusalem is as a menstruous woman among them.
18 “Mukama mutuukirivu, newaakubadde nga najeemera ekiragiro kye. Muwulirize mmwe amawanga gonna, mutunuulire okubonaabona kwange; Abavubuka bange ne bawala bange batwalibbwa mu busibe.
The LORD is righteous; for I have rebelled against his commandment: hear, I pray you, all people, and behold my sorrow: my virgins and my young men are gone into captivity.
19 “Nakoowoola bannange bannyambe, naye tebanfaako; bakabona bange n’abakadde b’ekibuga kyange bazikiririra mu kibuga nga banoonya ekyokulya baddemu amaanyi.
I called for my lovers, but they deceived me: my priests and mine elders gave up the spirit in the city, while they sought their food to relieve their souls.
20 “Laba, Ayi Mukama Katonda bwe ndi omunakuwavu! Ndi mu kubonaabona, n’omutima gwange teguteredde kubanga njeemye nnyo ekiyitiridde. Ebweru ekitala kirindiridde okunsanyaawo, ne mu nnyumba mulimu kufa kwereere.
Behold, O LORD; for I am in distress: my bowels are troubled; mine heart is turned within me; for I have grievously rebelled: abroad the sword bereaves, at home there is as death.
21 “Abantu bawulidde okusinda kwange, naye tewali n’omu ananyamba. Abalabe bange bonna bawulidde okusinda kwange; basanyukidde ekyo ky’okoze. Olunaku lwe walangirira, lubatuukeko, babeere nga nze.
They have heard that I sigh: there is none to comfort me: all mine enemies have heard of my trouble; they are glad that you have done it: you will bring the day that you have called, and they shall be like unto me.
22 “Obabonereze olw’obutali butuukirivu bwabwe bwonna, nga nze bwe wambonereza. Okusinda kwange kungi n’omutima gwange guzirika.”
Let all their wickedness come before you; and do unto them, as you have done unto me for all my transgressions: for my sighs are many, and my heart is faint.
