< Yobu 30 >

1 “Naye kaakano bansekerera; abantu abansinga obuto, bakitaabwe be nnandibadde nteeka wamu n’embwa ezikuuma endiga zange.
“But now those who are younger than I have me in derision, whose fathers I considered unworthy to put with my sheep dogs.
2 Amaanyi g’emikono gyabwe gaali gangasa ki? Abantu abaali baweddemu amaanyi ag’obuvubuka bwabwe,
Of what use is the strength of their hands to me, men in whom ripe age has perished?
3 abakoozimbye abaali mu bwetaavu era abayala, bameketa ettaka ekkalu mu nsi enjereere mu budde obw’ekiro.
They are gaunt from lack and famine. They gnaw the dry ground, in the gloom of waste and desolation.
4 Banoga ebiragala ebiwoomerera ng’omunnyo mu bisaka, enkolokolo ez’omwoloola y’emmere yaabwe.
They pluck salt herbs by the bushes. The roots of the broom tree are their food.
5 Baagobebwa bave mu bantu bannaabwe, ne babaleekaanira gy’obeera nti, baali babbi.
They are driven out from among men. They cry after them as after a thief,
6 Baawalirizibwa okubeera mu migga egyakalira, mu njazi ne mu binnya wansi mu ttaka.
so that they live in frightful valleys, and in holes of the earth and of the rocks.
7 Baakaabira mu bisaka ng’ensolo ne beekweka mu bikoola by’emiti.
They bray among the bushes. They are gathered together under the nettles.
8 Ezzadde ly’abasirusiru abatalina bwe bayitibwa, baagobebwa mu nsi.
They are children of fools, yes, children of wicked men. They were flogged out of the land.
9 Naye kaakano abaana baabwe bansekerera nga bannyimba; nfuuse ekyenyinyalwa gye bali,
“Now I have become their song. Yes, I am a byword to them.
10 abatanjagala abanneesalako, banguwa okunfujjira amalusu mu maaso.
They abhor me, they stand aloof from me, and don’t hesitate to spit in my face.
11 Kaakano Katonda nga bw’atagguludde akasaale kange, ammazeemu amaanyi; beeyisizza nga bwe balaba mu maaso gange.
For he has untied his cord, and afflicted me; and they have thrown off restraint before me.
12 Abantu bano bannumba ku mukono gwange ogwa ddyo; bategera ebigere byange emitego, ne baziba amakubo banzikirize.
On my right hand rise the rabble. They thrust aside my feet. They cast their ways of destruction up against me.
13 Banzingiza ne banzikiriza, nga tewali n’omu abayambye.
They mar my path. They promote my destruction without anyone’s help.
14 Banzingiza ng’abayita mu kituli ekigazi, bayingira nga bayita mu muwaatwa.
As through a wide breach they come. They roll themselves in amid the ruin.
15 Nnumbiddwa ebitiisa eby’amaanyi; ekitiibwa kyange kifuumuuse ng’ekifuuyiddwa empewo, era n’obukuumi bwange ne bubulawo ng’ekire.”
Terrors have turned on me. They chase my honor as the wind. My welfare has passed away as a cloud.
16 “Era kaakano obulamu bwange buseebengerera buggwaawo, ennaku ez’okubonaabona zinzijjidde.
“Now my soul is poured out within me. Days of affliction have taken hold of me.
17 Ekiro kifumita amagumba gange era obulumi bwe nnina tebukoma.
In the night season my bones are pierced in me, and the pains that gnaw me take no rest.
18 Mu maanyi ge amangi Katonda abeera ng’olugoye lwe nneebikka, n’ensibibwa ng’ekitogi ky’ekyambalo kyange.
My garment is disfigured by great force. It binds me about as the collar of my tunic.
19 Ansuula mu bitosi, ne nfuuka ng’enfuufu n’evvu.
He has cast me into the mire. I have become like dust and ashes.
20 “Nkukaabirira nti, Ayi Katonda, naye toddamu; nnyimirira, naye ontunuulira butunuulizi.
I cry to you, and you do not answer me. I stand up, and you gaze at me.
21 Onkyukira n’obusungu; onnumba n’omukono gwo ogw’amaanyi.
You have turned to be cruel to me. With the might of your hand you persecute me.
22 Onsitula mu bbanga n’ongobesa empewo, n’onziza eno n’eri mu muyaga.
You lift me up to the wind, and drive me with it. You dissolve me in the storm.
23 Mmanyi nga olintuusa mu kufa, mu kifo kye wateekerawo abalamu bonna.
For I know that you will bring me to death, to the house appointed for all living.
24 “Ddala tewali ayamba muntu anyigirizibwa ng’akaaba mu kunyigirizibwa kwe.
“However doesn’t one stretch out a hand in his fall? Or in his calamity therefore cry for help?
25 Saakaabira abo abaali mu buzibu? Emmeeme yange teyalumirirwa abaavu?
Didn’t I weep for him who was in trouble? Wasn’t my soul grieved for the needy?
26 Naye bwe nanoonya obulungi, ekibi kye kyajja; bwe nanoonya ekitangaala, ekizikiza kye kyajja.
When I looked for good, then evil came. When I waited for light, darkness came.
27 Olubuto lwange lutokota, terusirika; ennaku ez’okubonaabona kwange zinjolekedde.
My heart is troubled, and doesn’t rest. Days of affliction have come on me.
28 Nzenna ŋŋenda nzirugala naye si lwa kwokebwa musana; nnyimirira mu lukuŋŋaana, ne nsaba obuyambi.
I go mourning without the sun. I stand up in the assembly, and cry for help.
29 Nfuuse muganda w’ebibe, munne w’ebiwuugulu.
I am a brother to jackals, and a companion to ostriches.
30 Olususu lwange luddugadde, era lususumbuka; n’omubiri gwange gwokerera.
My skin grows black and peels from me. My bones are burned with heat.
31 Ettendo lyange lifuuseemu kukaaba n’akalere kange ne kavaamu eddoboozi ery’ebiwoobe.”
Therefore my harp has turned to mourning, and my pipe into the voice of those who weep.
