1 Amacīja bija divdesmit piecus gadus vecs, kad palika par ķēniņu, un valdīja Jeruzālemē divdesmit deviņus gadus, un viņa mātei vārds bija Joadana, no Jeruzālemes.

Twenty-five years old, was Amaziah, when he began to reign, and, twenty-nine years, reigned he in Jerusalem, —and, the name of his mother, was Jehoaddan, of Jerusalem.

2 Un viņš darīja, kas Tam Kungam labi patika, tomēr ne no visas sirds.

And he did that which was right in the eyes of Yahweh, —only not with a whole heart.

3 Kad nu viņš bija stiprinājies savā valstībā, tad viņš nokāva savus kalpus, kas bija kāvuši viņa tēvu, to ķēniņu.

And it came to pass, when the kingdom was confirmed unto him, that he slew his servants who had smitten the king his father;

4 Bet viņu bērnus viņš nenokāva, kā ir rakstīts Mozus bauslības grāmatā, kur Tas Kungs pavēlējis sacīdams: tēviem nebūs mirt par bērniem, un bērniem nebūs mirt par tēviem, bet ikviens lai mirst savu paša grēku dēļ.

but, their sons, he put not to death, —but as it is written in the law—in the book of Moses—how that Yahweh commanded, saying-Fathers, shall not die for, sons, and Sons, shall not die, for, fathers, but Each man, for his own sin, shall die.

5 Un Amacīja salpulcināja Jūdu un tos šķīra pēc tēvu namiem, pēc tūkstošniekiem un pēc simtniekiem pa visu Jūdu un Benjaminu, un skaitīja no tiem tos, kas divdesmit un vairāk gadus bija veci, un atrada no tiem trīs simt reizi tūkstoš izlasītus, kas varēja iet karā un nesa šķēpus un priekšturamās bruņas.

And Amaziah gathered Judah together, and appointed them by their ancestral houses, as rulers of thousands and as rulers of hundreds, for all Judah and Benjamin, —and he numbered them, from twenty years old and upwards, and found them three hundred thousand choice men, able to go forth to war, who could grasp spear and shield.

6 Un viņš saderēja no Israēla simt tūkstoš stiprus karavīrus par simts talentiem sudraba.

And he hired out of Israel, a hundred thousand heroes of valour, for a hundred talents of silver.

7 Bet viens Dieva vīrs nāca pie viņa un sacīja: ķēniņ! Israēla spēks lai tev neiet līdz, jo Tas Kungs nav ar Israēli, ar nevienu no Efraīma bērniem.

But, a man of God, came unto him, saying, O king! let not the host of Israel come with thee, —for Yahweh is not with Israel, [with] any of the sons of Ephraim.

8 Bet ja tu iesi un (to) darīsi un būsi drošs uz karu, tad Dievs tev liks krist ienaidnieka priekšā; jo Dievam ir spēks palīdzēt un nogāzt,

But, if thou art going, do, be strong for the battle, —God will cause thee to fall before the enemy, for there is strength in God, to help or to cause to fall.

9 Un Amacīja sacīja uz to Dieva vīru: bet ko tad es darīšu ar tiem simts talentiem, ko esmu devis Israēla karavīriem? Bet tas Dieva vīrs sacīja: Tam Kungam ir vairāk tev ko dot nekā tik daudz.

And Amaziah said unto the man of God, What then shall be done as to the hundred talents, which I have given to the company of Israel? Then said the man of God, Yahweh is able to give thee much more than this.

10 Tad Amacīja atšķīra tos karavīrus, kas no Efraīma bija nākuši pie viņa, lai tie ietu uz savām mājām. Bet tie ļoti apskaitās pret Jūdu un ar lielām dusmām griezās atkal atpakaļ uz savām mājām.

So Amaziah separated them, [appointing] unto the company which had come unto him out of Ephraim, to depart unto their own place, —wherefore their anger was greatly kindled against Judah, so they returned to their own place, in a heat of anger.

11 Un Amacīja ņēmās drošu prātu un izveda savus ļaudis un nogāja sāls ielejā un kāva desmit tūkstošus no Seīra bērniem.

And, Amaziah, took courage, and led forth his people, and went to the valley of salt, —and smote of the sons of Seir, ten thousand;

12 Un Jūda bērni sagūstīja no tiem desmit tūkstošus dzīvus un tos veda klints galā un tos nogāza no paša klints gala, ka tie visi tapa sašķelti.

and the sons of Judah took captive, ten thousand alive, and brought to the top of the crag, —and cast them down from the top of the crag, and, all of them, were torn asunder.

13 Bet tie karavīri, kam Amacīja bija licis iet atpakaļ, lai tie ar viņu karā neietu, tie ielauzās Jūda pilsētās no Samarijas līdz BetOronai un kāva no tiem trīs tūkstošus un aiznesa lielu laupījumu.

But, as for the sons of the company which Amaziah sent back from going with him to the war, they spread themselves out against the cities of Judah, from Samaria, even unto Beth-horon, —and smote of them three thousand, and took great plunder.

14 Kad nu Amacīja pārnāca no Edomiešu kaujas un bija atvedis līdz Seīra bērnu dievus, tad viņš tos sev iecēla par dieviem un metās zemē viņu priekšā un tiem kvēpināja.

And so it was, after Amaziah came in from smiting the Edomites, that he brought in the gods of the sons of Seir, and set them up for himself, as gods, —and, before them, used he to bow himself down, and, unto them, used he to burn a perfume.

15 Tad Tā Kunga bardzība iedegās pret Amacīju, un Viņš sūtīja pie tā pravieti. Tas uz viņu sacīja: kāpēc tu esi meklējis to ļaužu dievus, kas savus ļaudis nevarēja atpestīt no tavas rokas?

Then was kindled the anger of Yahweh, against Amaziah, —and he sent unto him a prophet, and said unto him, Wherefore hast thou sought the gods of the people, which delivered not their own people out of thy hand?

16 Kad nu viņš uz to tā runāja, tad tas uz viņu sacīja: vai tu esi iecelts par ķēniņa padoma devēju? Esi klusu, kāpēc lai tevi nokauj? Tad tas pravietis apklusa un sacīja: es gan atzīstu, ka Dievs apņēmies tevi samaitāt, tāpēc ka tu to esi darījis un neesi klausījis manam padomam.

And it came to pass, as he spake unto him, that he said to him, To be, counselor to the king, have we appointed thee? forbear thou, wherefore should they smite thee? So the prophet forbare, and said—I know that God hath determined to destroy thee, because thou hast done this, and hast not hearkened unto my counsel.

17 Un Amacīja, Jūda ķēniņš, aprunājās un sūtīja pie Jehoasa, Joakasa dēla, Jeūs dēla dēla, Israēla ķēniņa, un sacīt: nāc, griezīsim vaigu pret vaigu!

Then Amaziah king of Judah took counsel, and sent unto Joash, son of Jehoahaz son of Jehu king of Israel, saying, —Come, let us look one another in the face!

18 Bet Jehoas, Israēla ķēniņš, sūtīja pie Amacījas, Jūda ķēniņa, un lika sacīt: ērkšķu krūms uz Lībanus sūtīja pie ciedra koka uz Lībanus un sacīja: dod savu meitu manam dēlam par sievu; bet tie lauka zvēri, kas uz Lībanus, gāja pāri un samina to ērkšķu krūmu.

And Joash king of Israel sent unto Amaziah king of Judah, saying, A thistle that was in Lebanon, sent unto a cedar that was in Lebanon, saying, Come! give thy daughter unto my son to wife, —but there passed by a beast of the field that was in Lebanon, and trampled down the thistle.

19 Redzi, tu domā, tu esi kāvis Edomiešus, un tava sirds lepojās un lielās. Nu tad, paliec mājās, kāpēc tu gribi skriet nelaimē, pats krist un Jūda līdz ar tevi?

Thou hast said-Lo! thou hast smitten the Edomites, and thy heart hath lifted thee up to display honour, -Now, abide in thine own house, wherefore shouldst thou engage in strife with Misfortune, and fall, thou and Judah with thee?

20 Bet Amacīja neklausīja, jo tas notika no Dieva, lai viņš tos viņiem dotu rokā, tāpēc ka tie bija meklējuši Edomiešu dievus.

But Amaziah hearkened not, because, from God, it was, to the end he might deliver them up into [their enemies’] hand, —because they had sought the gods of Edom.

21 Un Jehoas, Israēla ķēniņš, cēlās, un tie grieza vaigu pret vaigu, viņš un Amacīja, Jūda ķēniņš, BetŠemē iekš Jūda.

So Joash king of Israel came up, and they looked one another in the face, he, and Amaziah king of Judah, —in Beth-shemesh, which belongeth unto Judah.

22 Un Jūda tapa kauts Israēla priekšā, un tie bēga ikviens uz savu dzīvokli.

Then was Judah defeated, before Israel, —and they fled every man to his own home;

23 Un Jehoas Israēla ķēniņš, sagūstīja Amacīju, Jūda ķēniņu, Joasa dēlu, Joakasa (Ahazijas) dēla dēlu, BetŠemesā un to noveda Jeruzālemē un noplēsa Jeruzālemes mūrus no Efraīma vārtiem līdz Stūra vārtiem četrsimt olektis.

and, Amaziah king of Judah, son of Joash son of Jehoahaz, was taken by Joash king of Israel, in Beth-shemesh, —and he brought him to Jerusalem, and brake down the wall of Jerusalem, from the gate of Ephraim as far as the corner-gate, four hundred cubits;

24 Un viņš ņēma visu zeltu un sudrabu un visus traukus, kas Dieva namā tapa atrasti pie ObedEdoma, un ķēniņa nama mantas līdz ar tiem galviniekiem un griezās atpakaļ uz Samariju.

and, all the gold and the silver and all the utensils that were found in the house of God with Obed-edom, and the treasures of the house of the king, and hostages, he took, -and returned to Samaria.

25 Un Amacīja, Joasa dēls, Jūda ķēniņš dzīvoja pēc tam, kad Jehoas, Joakasa dēls, Israēla ķēniņš, bija nomiris, piecpadsmit gadus.

And Amaziah son of Joash king of Judah lived, after the death of Joash son of Jehoahaz king of Israel, —fifteen years.

26 Un kas vēl par Amacīju stāstāms, ir par viņa iesākumu, ir par viņa galu, redzi, tas rakstīts Jūda un Israēla ķēniņu grāmatā.

Now, the rest of the story of Amaziah, first and last, lo! it is written in the book of the Kings of Judah and Israel.

27 Un no tā laika, kamēr Amacīja no Tā Kunga bija atkāpies, dumpis pret viņu cēlās Jeruzālemē, un viņš bēga uz Laķisu. Bet tie viņam sūtīja pakaļ uz Laķisu un to tur nokāva,

And, after the time that Amaziah turned away from following Yahweh, they made against him a conspiracy in Jerusalem, and he fled to Lachish, —but they sent after him to Lachish, and slew him there.

28 Un to atveda uz zirgiem un apraka pie viņa tēviem Jūda pilsētā.

And they brought him on horses, -and buried him with his fathers, in the city of Judah.
