Pirmā Samuela 16

1 Un Tas Kungs sacīja uz Samuēli: cik ilgi tu žēlojies par Saulu, kad Es to esmu atmetis, ka tam nebūs Israēlim būt par ķēniņu? Pildi savu ragu ar eļļu un noej; Es tevi sūtīšu pie Isajus, tā Bētlemieša, jo Es no viņa dēliem Sev esmu izredzējis ķēniņu.

YHWH said to Samuel, "How long will you mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him from being king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil, and go. I will send you to Jesse the Bethlehemite; for I have provided a king for myself among his sons."

2 Bet Samuēls sacīja: kā lai es eju? Jo Sauls to dzirdēs un mani nokaus. Tad Tas Kungs sacīja: ņem vienu teļu līdz un saki:

Samuel said, "How can I go? If Saul hears it, he will kill me." YHWH said, "Take a heifer with you, and say, I have come to sacrifice to YHWH.

3 Es esmu nācis Tam Kungam upurēt. Un aicini Isaju pie tā upura, tad Es tev darīšu zināmu, ko tev būs darīt, un tev būs Man to svaidīt, ko Es tev noteikšu.

Call Jesse to the sacrifice, and I will show you what you shall do. You shall anoint to me him whom I name to you."

4 Un Samuēls darīja, ko Tas Kungs bija runājis, un nāca uz Bētlemi. Tad tās pilsētas vecaji drebēdami viņam gāja pretī un sacīja: vai tu nāci ar mieru?

And Samuel did what YHWH said, and came to Bethlehem. And the elders of the city came to meet him trembling. And they said, "Is your visit peaceful, seer?"

5 Un viņš sacīja: ar mieru; es esmu nācis Tam Kungam upurēt. Svētījaties un nāciet ar mani pie tā upura. Un viņš svētīja Isaju un viņa dēlus un tos aicināja pie tā upura.

And he said, "Peaceful; I have come to sacrifice to YHWH. Sanctify yourselves, and come with me to the sacrifice." He sanctified Jesse and his sons, and called them to the sacrifice.

6 Un notikās, kad tie nāca, tad viņš uzlūkoja Elijabu un domāja: tiešām, šis ir Tā Kunga priekšā Viņa svaidītais.

It happened, when they had come, that he looked at Eliab, and said, "Surely YHWH's anointed is before him."

7 Bet Tas Kungs sacīja uz Samuēli: “Neuzlūko viņa ģīmi nedz viņa lielo garumu, jo Es viņu esmu atmetis. Jo tas nav tā, kā cilvēki redz. Jo cilvēks redz, kas priekš acīm, bet Tas Kungs uzlūko sirdi.”

But YHWH said to Samuel, "Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For humans do not see as God sees, for humans look at the outward appearance, but God looks at the heart."

8 Tad Isajus aicināja Abinadabu, un tam lika iet Samuēla priekšā; bet viņš sacīja: arī šo Tas Kungs nav izredzējis.

Then Jesse called Abinadab, and made him pass before Samuel. He said, "Neither has YHWH chosen this one."

9 Tad Isajus Šamum lika nākt priekšā. Bet viņš sacīja: arī šo Tas Kungs nav izredzējis.

Then Jesse made Shimeah to pass by. He said, "Neither has YHWH chosen this one."

10 Tā Isajus saviem septiņiem dēliem lika nākt Samuēla priekšā, bet Samuēls sacīja uz Isaju: Tas Kungs nevienu no šiem nav izredzējis.

And Jesse made seven of his sons pass before Samuel. And Samuel said to Jesse, "YHWH has not chosen these."

11 Un Samuēls sacīja uz Isaju: vai šie tie jaunekļi visi? Un viņš sacīja: Tas jaunākais vēl atliek, un redzi, viņš gana avis. Tad Samuēls sacīja uz Isaju: nosūti un atvedi viņu šurp; jo mēs neapsēdīsimies, kamēr viņš nebūs atnācis.

Samuel said to Jesse, "Are all your children here?" He said, "There remains yet the youngest, and look, he is keeping the sheep." Samuel said to Jesse, "Send and get him; for we will not sit down until he comes here."

12 Tad viņš nosūtīja un to atveda. Un tas bija sarkaniem vaigiem, skaistām acīm un jauku ģīmi. Tad Tas Kungs sacīja: celies un svaidi to, jo tas ir tas.

And he sent and brought him in. And he was reddish brown, and had beautiful eyes, and was handsome. And YHWH said, "Arise, anoint him, for he is the one."

13 Tad Samuēls ņēma savu eļļas ragu un to svaidīja viņa brāļu vidū. Un Tā Kunga Gars nāca pār Dāvidu no šīs dienas un joprojām. Un Samuēls cēlās un nogāja uz Rāmatu.

Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brothers: and the Spirit of YHWH came mightily on David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah.

14 Un Tā Kunga Gars atkāpās no Saula, un viņu biedināja ļauns gars no Tā Kunga.

Now the Spirit of YHWH departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from YHWH troubled him.

15 Tad Saula kalpi uz to sacīja: redzi jel, ļauns gars no Dieva tevi biedina.

Saul's servants said to him, "See now, an evil spirit from God troubles you.

16 Lai saka mūsu kungs uz saviem kalpiem, kas tavā priekšā stāv, lai tie meklē kādu vīru, kas māk spēlēt uz koklēm, un kad tas ļaunais gars no Dieva pār tevi nāk, tad lai viņš ar savu roku spēlē, tad tev paliks labāki.

Let our lord now command your servants who are before you, to seek out a man who is a skillful player on the harp. It shall happen, when the evil spirit from God is on you, that he shall play with his hand, and you shall be well, and it will give you relief."

17 Tad Sauls sacīja uz saviem kalpiem: lūkojiet man jel pēc tāda vīra, kas labi māk spēlēt, un atvediet to pie manis.

Saul said to his servants, "Provide me now a man who can play well, and bring him to me."

18 Tad viens no viņa sulaiņiem atbildēja un sacīja: raugi, es esmu redzējis vienu Isajus dēlu Bētlemē, tas māk labi spēlēt un ir spēcīgs varonis un karavīrs un gudrs vārdos un skaists no auguma, un Tas Kungs ir ar viņu.

Then one of the young men answered, and said, "Look, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, who is skillful in playing, and a mighty man of valor, and a warrior, and articulate in speech, and a handsome man; and YHWH is with him."

19 Tad Sauls sūtīja vēstnešus pie Isajus un tam sacīja: sūti pie manis savu dēlu Dāvidu, kas ir pie avīm.

Therefore Saul sent messengers to Jesse, and said, "Send me David your son, who is with the sheep."

20 Tad Isajus ņēma ēzeli ar maizi un trauku vīna un vienu kazlēnu, un to sūtīja Saulam caur sava dēla Dāvida roku.

And Jesse took a donkey and loaded it with an omer of bread, and a skin of wine, and a young goat, and sent them by David his son to Saul.

21 Tā Dāvids nāca pie Saula un stāvēja viņa priekšā, un tas viņu ļoti iemīlēja, un viņš tam bija par bruņu nesēju.

David came to Saul, and stood before him. He loved him greatly; and he became his armor bearer.

22 Un Sauls sūtīja pie Isajus un lika sacīt: lai jel Dāvids paliek pie manis, jo viņš ir žēlastību atradis manās acīs.

Saul sent to Jesse, saying, "Please let David stand before me; for he has found favor in my sight."

23 Un notikās, kad gars no Dieva nāca pār Saulu, tad Dāvids ņēma kokles un spēlēja ar savu roku: tad Sauls atspirga un tam palika labāki, un tas ļaunais gars no viņa atstājās.

It happened, when the spirit from God was on Saul, that David took the harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him.
