< Psalmorum 75 >

1 In finem, ne corrumpas. Psalmus cantici Asaph. [Confitebimur tibi, Deus, confitebimur, et invocabimus nomen tuum; narrabimus mirabilia tua.
For the leader; al tashheth. A psalm of Asaph, a song. We praise you, God, we praise you: we would call on your name and declare your wonders.
2 Cum accepero tempus, ego justitias judicabo.
‘At the time I choose, I will judge fairly.
3 Liquefacta est terra et omnes qui habitant in ea: ego confirmavi columnas ejus.
Though earth melt and all her inhabitants, it is I who keep steady her pillars.’ (Selah)
4 Dixi iniquis: Nolite inique agere: et delinquentibus: Nolite exaltare cornu:
I say to the boasters, ‘Boast not’; to the wicked, ‘Lift not up your horn:
5 nolite extollere in altum cornu vestrum; nolite loqui adversus Deum iniquitatem.
lift not your horn on high, speak not boldly against the Rock.’
6 Quia neque ab oriente, neque ab occidente, neque a desertis montibus:
For not from east nor west, not from desert nor mountains;
7 quoniam Deus judex est. Hunc humiliat, et hunc exaltat:
but God himself is the judge, humbling one and exalting another.
8 quia calix in manu Domini vini meri, plenus misto. Et inclinavit ex hoc in hoc; verumtamen fæx ejus non est exinanita: bibent omnes peccatores terræ.
In the hand of the Lord is a cup foaming wine, richly spiced. Out of this he pours a draught, and all the wicked of earth must drain it down to the dregs.
9 Ego autem annuntiabo in sæculum; cantabo Deo Jacob:
But I will rejoice forever, singing praise to the God of Jacob.
10 et omnia cornua peccatorum confringam, et exaltabuntur cornua justi.]
I will hew all the horns of the wicked, but the horns of the just shall be lifted.
